INSTALLATION
InstallationOverview
Whenchoosingalocationforyournewstove,thereareamultitudeoffactors
thatshouldbetakenintoaccountbeforebeginningtheinstallation.
1. TrafficPatternsTohelppreventaccidents,thestoveshouldbeplacedina
locationwhereitisoutofthewayofnormaltravel
throughthehome.
2. HeatFlowWhendecidingonalocationforthestove,considerthewayheat
movesthroughoutyourhome.Installthestovewhereyouneedtheheat;
basementinstallationsoftendonotallowsufficientheattoflowtotheupper
floorsandatopfloorinstallationwill
notallowanyheattoreachthefloors
below.Alwaysconsiderthatheatrisesandwilltakethepathofleast
resistancewhileitisstillhot.
3. ExhaustLocationOutsidewallsaregenerallythebestplacetoinstalla stove,
sincetheyalloweasyexhaustandintakeair
installation(usingourDuraVent
AC3000Kit,AC33000ifCanada).Ifthereisnotafeasiblewaytoinstallthe
stoveonanoutsidewall,therearemethodsforventingthestoveupthrough
theroof,buttheytendtobemorecostlybecausetheyinvolvetheuseofmore
pelletventpipeandcanoftenmakeoutsideairinstallationmoredifficult.
4. WallConstructionLocatingthestovesothattheexhaustsystemcanpass
betweenstudswillsimplifytheinstallationandeliminatetheneedtoreframe
anysectionsofthewalltoaccommodatethewallthimble.

Donotstoreorusegasolineorotherflammablevaporsandliquidsinthevicinityofthisoranyother
appliance.

Thispelletstoveoperatesonanegativedraftsystem,whichpullscombustionairthroughthe
burnpotandpushestheexhaustairthroughtheventpipeandoutofthebuilding.Thisunitmustbe
installedinaccordancewiththefollowingdetaileddescriptionsofventingtechniques;notinstallingthe
stoveinaccordancewiththedetailslistedherecanresultinpoorstoveperformance,property
damage,bodilyinjuryordeath.England’sStoveWorksisnotresponsibleforanydamageincurreddue
toapoororunsafeinstallation.

DONOTinstallafluepipedamperoranyotherrestrictivedeviceintheexhaustventingsystem
ofthisunit.
USEanapprovedwallthimblewhenpassingthroughawallandaceilingsupport/firestopwhen
passingthroughaceiling.
ONLYuse3.0”or4.0”TypeLorTypePLpipeapprovedforpelletstoveventing;DONOTuse
galvanizedorBVentpipe.
SEALeachjointofpelletventwithhightemperaturesilicone(Part#ACRTV3)topreventsmoke

Werequireaminimumverticalriseof36in.(3ft.)ofpipetocreatenaturaldraftinthesystem,
whichhelpsevacuatesmokefromthestoveintheeventofapowerfailureorcombustion
blowerfailure.
Ventingsystems15.0ft.orshortermaybecomposedentirelyof3.0in.pelletpipe;toreduce
frictionallosses,ventingsystemslongerthan15.0ft.shouldbecomposedof4.0in.
pelletpipe.
Donotterminatetheventingsystemdirectlybeneathanycombustiblestructuresuchasa
porchordeck.

INSTALLATION
ApprovedVentingMethod1:ThroughtheWall
Generallythesimplestinstallationmethod,ventingthrough
thewallusingourAC3000kit,AC33000ifCanada(orsimilar
ventingsystem)isalsothepreferredventingmethod.It
minimizeshorizontalpipe,allowsthestovetobeinstalledclose
tothewallandkeepsthecleanoutteeontheoutsideofthe
house,foreaseofcleaning.
Wheninstallinganyventingsystem,TypeLorTypePLpipe
mustbeusedandallclearancestocombustibles(listedbythe
pipemanufacturer)mustbestrictlyadheredto.
Usethepipemanufacturer’sapprovedthimbleforpassing
throughacombustiblewall,andmaintainatleasttheminimum
clearancestocombustibles.
Useanappliancecollarwherethepelletventconnectsto
theexhaustoutputofthepelletstoveandattachtheappliance
collartotheexhaustbloweroutputusingthreesheetmetalscrews.
Securethepelletventtotheoutsideofthehouseusingawallstrapjustbelowthe90degree
elbow.
SealeachpipeconnectionjointwithhightemperatureRTVSilicone,toensurethesystemisleak
free(Checkwiththespecificventingsystemmanufacturer’sinstructionsbeforedoingso).
Ifthepelletventpipebeingusedisnota“TwistLock”system,three(3)sheetmetalscrewsare
requiredateachpipejoint.
Connectthepelletstovetooutsidecombustionairusingthekitincludedwithyourstoveorusing
analternativemethod,asdescribedinthe“OutsideAir”section,onpage15.
Thisinstallationtype
canbemodifiedforbasement(Basementinstallationsshouldalwaysbe
performedbyaprofessionalinstaller)orotherinstallationswhereintheteeandverticalsectionofthe
pipewouldbeinsidethehomeandtheventingsystemwouldsimplypasshorizontallythroughthe
thimbleandthenterminate.

installation.
Wheninstallinganyventingsystem,TypeLorTypePLpipe
mustbeusedandallclearancestocombustibleslistedbythe
pipemanufacturermustbestrictlyadheredto.
Usethepipemanufacturer’sapprovedceilingsupportfor
passingthroughacombustibleceiling,aswellastherequired
firestops,radiationshields,flashingandstormcollar.
Becertaintofollowthemanufacturer’srequiredheightof
terminationabovetheroofline,andmaintainatleastthe
minimumclearancestocombustibles.
Useanappliancecollarwherethepelletventconnectsto
theexhaustoutputofthepelletstoveandattachtheappliance
collartotheexhaustbloweroutputusingthreesheetmetal
screws.

Beforeusinganexistingchimney,becertainitisingood

GettingStarted
Checktoseethatthehopperiscleanandfreefromforeignmaterials.Besuretoconnectthis unittoa
workingoutlet;werecommendusingasurgeprotectortohelpprotecttheelectroniccomponentsfrom
damage.
BEFOREyourfirstfire,dryrunyourunit(nopellet fuel
inthehopper)fortwentyminutes;pressingthe“ON”
buttonwiththeunitpluggedinwillinitiatethedryrun.
Oncethe“ON”buttonispressed,youshouldimmediatelyheartheexhaustblowerstartand
operatecontinuously.Afterafewseconds,theletters“SU”willappearinthetwo
displaywindows
ofthecontrolboard.
Afteraboutthreetofiveminutes,lookfortheredglowoftheigniterintheigniterportoftheburn
pottobecertainitisoperatingnormally.
Holdthehopperlidswitch(See“IllustratedPartsDiagram”pg.44)downwith

toseethattheaugeristurning.Releasethehopperlidswitchandbecertainthattheaugerstops

Thispelletstovewillperformequallywellusingsoftwoodandhardwoodpellets,andalthoughtheashmay

withinthefirsthour.Openadoorand/orwindowduringthefirstfiretoventilatethearea.
DailyOperationNotes
Onlyhighquality,¼”(.25in.)diameterwoodpellets,shouldbeusedinthisstove.Usinglowgrade
woodpelletswithhighashcontentORwoodpelletswithahighmoisturecontentcancausethe
burnpottofillwithashatamorerapidpaceandcancauseintervalsbetweenperiodic
maintenancetobecomesignificantlyshorter.Pleasereadthe“Maintenance”sectionofthis
manualthoroughlytounderstandhowfuelselectionaffectsstoveoperation,maintenanceand
cleaning.
Variationintheflameheightisnormal;notallwoodpelletfuelisuniforminsize,whichcanaffect
thewaypelletsarefedintotheburnpot.Althoughtheflameheightmayincreaseanddecrease
duringoperation,thereisnolossofefficiency.
Alwaysstorewoodpelletfuelinadrylocation;storingwoodpelletfuelinadrylocationensures
thefuelwillremainpelletizedandlowinmoisturecontent.Also,becertainthatallwoodpellet
fuelisstoredatasafedistancefromthepelletheater;storingfuelincloseproximitytothestove
canresultinafire.
Thispelletburningroomheaterisequippedwithaspeciallydesignedburnpotwhichcomes
preinstalledfromthefactory.
Thisburnpotelevatestheburningpelletsanddeliversairatthe
preciselyrequiredlocations.Pelletsmustonlybeburnedinthefactoryburnpot;nomodifications
shouldbemadetothisburnpotandnoadditionalgratesorotherfireelevatorsshouldbeused.

CONTROLBOARDSETTINGS
Thecontrolboardonthisstoveallowstheusertoadjusttheheatoutputandconvectionblowerspeed,
turntheunitonandoff,andtestcomponentsforfunction(moreondiagnosticmodelater).
Thelowerbuttonsonthecontrolboard(LowFuelFeed,LowBurnAir,andAiron
Temp)arenot
meanttobeadjustedduringnormaloperationoftheunit.Thesebuttonsarefactorypresetand
shouldnotbeadjustedbytheuser.
Toenergizetheunitandinitiateafire,pressthe“On”button.TheLEDabovethebuttonshould
turngreenandthecontrolboardshoulddisplay“SU”shortlyafterpressingthebutton.
Toshuttheunitdown,pressthe“Off”button.TheLEDabovethebuttonshouldturnredandthe
boardshoulddisplay“Sd”shortlyafterpressingthebutton.Thisinitiatestheshutdownsequence,
andthestovewillremaininshutdownmodeuntilithascooleddown.
Toincreasetheheatoutputofthestove,pressthe“Up”heatrangebutton.Thenumberinthe
heatrangedisplaywindowwillincrease,signifyingthatthecontrolboardisnowadjustingtheheat
outputtoyourdesiredlevel.Theblowerspeedwillincreasethesameamountastheheatrange,
becausethestoveisdesignedtooperatewiththeblowerspeedgreaterthanorequaltotheheat
range.Pressingthe“Down”arrowwilldecreasetheheatrangeandblowerspeed.
Toincreasetheblowerspeedwithoutincreasingtheheatrange,presstheBlowerSpeed“Up”
arrowuntilthedesiredblowerspeedisshowninthedisplaywindow.Pressingthe“Down”arrow
willdecreasetheblowerspeed;however,thecontrolboardwillnotallowtheblowerspeedtobe
setlowerthantheheatrange.
Caution
Thisunitismeanttooperateonlywiththeashpanandmainviewingdoorclosed.
Smokespillageandaninefficient,lazyburnwillresultfromattemptingtooperatethe
stovewitheitherdooropen.
Inaddition,usingfuelotherthanwoodpelletscancreateanunsafesituationandcan
alsogenerateexcesscarbonmonoxide.Carbonmonoxideisanodorless,colorlessgas
whichcanbedeadly.Besuretoburnonlywoodpellets.

ACHLSB)whichisdirectlyconnectedtotheaugermotor.Intheeventthehopperlidisleft
openwhilethestoveisinoperation,thehopperlidswitchwillpreventtheaugerfrom
turning.Thisistopreventbyproductsofcombustionfromenteringthehomethroughthe
openhopperlidandalsotosimplypreventoperationwiththehopperlidopen.Improper
hopperlidsafetyswitchoperationwillresultinanaugerthatwillnotturnandthereforea
stovethatwillnot
burn.NEVERplaceyourhandoranyobjectneartheaugerwhilethestove
isconnectedtopower.
