This unit contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that
comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development
Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the
following two conditions:
(1) This unit may not cause interference; and
(2) This unit must accept any interference, including interference
that may cause undesired operation of the unit.
The available scientific evidence does not show that any health
problems are associated with using low power wireless devices.
There is no proof, however, that these low power wireless devices
are absolutely safe. Low power wireless devices emit low levels of
radio frequency energy (RF) in the microwave range while being
used. Whereas high levels of RF can produce health effects (by
heating tissue), exposure of low-level RF that does not produce
heating effects causes no known adverse health effects. Many
studies of low-level RF exposures have not found any biological
effects. Some studies have suggested that some biological effects
might occur, but such findings have not been confirmed by
additional research. The unit has been tested and found to comply
with ISED radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled
environment and meets RSS-102 of the ISED radio frequency (RF)
Exposure rules.
High volume may adversely affect your hearing.
Do not use the unit while walking, driving, or cycling. Doing so may
cause traffic accidents.
Do not use in hazardous areas unless the surrounding sound can be
heard.
If water or foreign matter enters the unit, it may result in fire or electric
shock. If water or foreign matter enters the unit, stop use immediately
and consult your nearest Sony dealer. In particular, be careful in the
following cases.
• When using the unit near a sink or liquid container
Be careful that the unit does not fall into a sink or container filled with
water.
• When using the unit in the rain or snow, or in humid locations
For details on the effects of contact with the human body from the
mobile phone or other wireless devices connected to the unit, refer to
the instruction manual of the wireless device.
If the earbuds are not securely attached, they may fall off and remain
inside the ear during use. Make sure that the earbuds are securely
attached before use.
Never insert the USB plug when the unit or charging cable is wet. If the
USB plug is inserted while the unit or charging cable is wet, a short
circuit may occur due to liquid (tap water, seawater, soft drink, etc.) or
foreign matter on the unit or charging cable, and cause abnormal heat
generation or malfunction.
This product (including accessories) has magnet(s) which may interfere
with pacemakers, programmable shunt valves for hydrocephalus
treatment, or other medical devices. Do not place this product close to
persons who use such medical devices. Consult your doctor before
using this product if you use any such medical device.
This product (including accessories) has magnet(s). Swallowing
magnet(s) could cause serious harm, such as choking hazard or
intestinal injuries. If magnets (or a magnet) were swallowed, consult a
doctor immediately. Keep this product away from children or other
supervised individuals to prevent accidental ingestion.
There is a danger that this unit or its small parts may be swallowed.
After use, store the unit in the charging case and store in a location out
of reach of small children.
Note about static electricity
If you use the unit when the air is dry, you may experience discomfort
due to static electricity accumulated on your body. This is not a
malfunction of the unit. You can reduce the effect by wearing clothes
made of natural materials that do not easily generate static electricity.

On water resistant of the unit
• The charging case is not water resistant.
• Unless the unit is used correctly, water may get into the unit and
cause fire, electrocution, or malfunctions.
Note the following cautions carefully and use the unit correctly.
To maintain water resistant performance
Carefully note the precautions below to ensure proper use of the
unit.
• Do not splash water forcibly into the sound output holes.
• Do not drop the unit into water, and do not use underwater.
• Do not allow the unit to remain wet in a cold environment, as the
water may freeze. To prevent malfunction, make sure to wipe off
any water after use.
• Do not place the unit in water or use it in a humid place such as a
bathroom.
• Do not drop the unit or expose it to mechanical shock. Doing so
may deform or damage the unit, resulting in deterioration of water
resistance performance.
• Use a soft dry cloth to wipe off any water that gets on the unit. If
water remains in the sound output holes, the sound may become
muffled or completely inaudible. If this happens, remove the
earbuds, position the sound output holes facing downward, and
shake several times to get the water out.
• Turn the microphone hole downward and gently tap it about five
times towards a dry cloth etc. If any water drops are left in the
microphone hole, it may cause corrosion.
On BLUETOOTH® communications
• Microwaves emitting from a Bluetooth device may affect the
operation of electronic medical devices. Turn off this unit and other
Bluetooth devices in the following locations, as it may cause an
accident:
– in hospitals, near priority seating in trains, locations where
inflammable gas is present, near automatic doors, or near fire
alarms.
On charging the unit
• Do not attach metallic objects such as stickers made from material
containing metal on the wireless charging pad and unit. Doing so may
cause fires, burns, or injuries.
• When using the wireless charging pad, do not place metallic objects
such as straps or clips made from material containing metal on the
wireless charging pad. Doing so may cause fires, burns, or injuries.
• When charging with the wireless charging pad, remove the parts such
as covers attached to the charging case. Depending on the material
or thickness of the cover, or due to foreign objects caught between
the charging case and the cover, charging may not be performed
properly, resulting in fires, burns, or injuries.
• When you have medical electric devices such as pacemakers or
defibrillators implanted, consult your doctor before using the wireless
charging pad. Radio waves may affect the operations of the medical
electric devices.
• The unit is charged when it is stored in the charging case. The
charging case is compatible with the wireless charging pads that
meet the Qi standard. Close the lid of the charging case and charge
the charging case by placing it on the wireless charging pad with the
SONY logo of the charging case facing upward. When charging, refer
to the operating instructions of the wireless charging pad.

• Because the earbuds achieve a tight seal in the ears, forcibly pressing
them in or quickly pulling them out can result in eardrum damage.
When wearing the earbuds, the speaker diaphragm may produce a
click sound. This is not a malfunction.
On the earbud tips (Noise Isolation Earbud tips)
• As the earbud tips fit more snugly in your ears, you may feel a strain
to your ears. If you experience discomfort, discontinue use.
• Do not pull on the polyurethane foam portion of the earbud tips. If
this portion is separated from the earbud tips, the earbud tips will not
function.
• Do not subject the polyurethane foam portion of the earbud tips to
pressure over long periods. It may cause deformation and It may be
difficult to return the earbud tips to the original shape.
• When the earbud tips become dirty, do not wash them in water, but
wipe off the dirt using a dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, etc. when
cleaning. Doing so may quicken the deterioration.
• When the earbud tips get soaked, drain the liquid well and make sure
that the earbud tips are dried before use or storage.
• The foam materials used in the earbud tips deteriorate through
long-term use and storage. Replace the earbud tips as deterioration
causes reduced performance.
• The varying sizes of the holes on the polyurethane foam portion of
the earbud tips have no effect on the sound quality.
• While the unit is worn, you may hear a cracking noise in your ears, but
this is not a malfunction.
• The foam materials may become firm at a low temperature. Warm the
earbud tips a little with your hands before use.
• When the environmental temperature or usage temperature is high,
the polyurethane foam may take time to return to its original shape.
Other notes
• If you experience discomfort while using the unit, stop using it
immediately.
• If you have any questions or problems concerning this unit that are
not covered in this manual, please consult your nearest Sony dealer.
