• Small amounts of liquids, crumbs or food particles could be pulled
into the vacuum chamber during vacuuming. To avoid this, freeze
moist and juicy food, place a folded paper on the inside a bag.
• Avoid overfilling a bag with powdery or fine-grained food.
Alternatively, place a coffee filter inside a bag before vacuuming.
• Apply a thorn-proof package or an extra vacuum bag for bags with
sharp bones while vacuuming.
• Vacuum packing only extends shelf life of perishable food in the
freezer or refrigerator, but does not preserve it.
• Do not vacuum package fresh fruits and vegetables, as they might
emit nitrogen and cause rupture and leakage in the bag during
vacuuming. Cooked vegetables e.g. boiled carrots can be vacuum
packed.
• Liquid needs to be cooled before vacuum packaging.
