• Using an additional function, you can keep the tempera-
ture of the water hot at 70 °C, 80 °C, 90 °C.
• You can use the tea strainer to prepare tea in your kettle.
Mains Lead
Completely unwind the length of mains lead that you require
from the bottom section of the base. Please ensure that the
mains lead does not become tangled up.
Connected Wattage
The total power consumption of this appliance can be up to
3000 W. With this connected load a separate supply line pro-
tected by a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.
Electrical Connection
1. Check whether the mains voltage that you want to use,
corresponds with that of the appliance. You will nd the
information about it on the rating plate.
2. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed safety
socket.
Preparation
Before using for the rst time, boil fresh water at least three
times in the appliance. Use only water without any additives
or ingredients.
Using the Appliance
1. Place the appliance on a at surface.
2. Open the lid. Press the button (3). The opener springs
open. You can remove the lid by pulling upwards.
3. Then ll in the water (max. 1.7 litre). You can read the
lling level on the water level indicator of the kettle.
- Always use fresh, cold water.
- The water level must be between the MAX and MIN
marks.
4. Close the lid. In order to close the lid, press the
button (3). The lid must audibly lock into place. Always
ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
5. Place the kettle ush on the base.
Operation
1. Select a temperature using the buttons 8 to 11. The light
on the button will light up.
2. Press the button. The light on the button will light up.
- The light on the temperature button will ash whilst the
water heats up.
- If the temperature has been reached, you will hear
two buzzers.
- The light on the button will go out.
- The light on the temperature button will light up until
you take the jug from the base.
• Keep warm function:
- You can keep the water hot for half an hour at the
following temperatures: 70 °C, 80 °C and 90 °C.
- To do this, press the button after you have selected
a temperature.
- The light on the button will light up.
- The keep warm will remain active, even if you take the
jug from the base for up to a minute.
- Not for 100 °C! The keep warm function cannot be
combined with this temperature.
• Quick start:
- Press the button after putting the jug on to boil.
- The water will be heated to 100 °C.
Tea Strainer
You can replace the lid of the kettle with the tea strainer.
See the illustration.
1. In order to open the strainer, rotate it slightly in an anti-
clockwise direction.
2. Add the tea and close the strainer again.
3. Put the tea strainer on instead of the lid.
- Use the plunger to determine when and for how long
the tea is supposed to brew.
- To prepare tea, refer to the “TeaMax” mark.
- Bring 1.2 litres (max.) of water to the boil.
- The tea strainer should only be immersed in the water
when the desired temperature has been reached.
WARNING: Risk of Burns!
The tea strainer becomes hot! Be careful when removing.
If necessary, use a potholder. The tea strainer will con-
tinue to drip!
Ending / Terminating Operation
There are two options to interrupt the boiling process or to
terminate it:
1) The appliance will switch off after the boiling process.
2) Press the button in order to end the boiling process.
• The light on the button will go out. The appliance
switches to standby mode.
- Always shut off the appliance before removing it from
the base! The contacts on the base are unsuitable for
interrupting the current.
- Also ensure that it is turned off when you set it back
onto the base!
• Pull the mains plug out of the socket.
• Emptying the water container.
- Always hold the appliance by the handle.
- When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
- Always open and close the lid with the button (3) in
the lid.
- Only take hold of the appliance at the buttons and
handles.
• During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch
it and allow the appliance to cool down before storing it
away.
