Charging the lithium-ion rechargeable battery
DANGER!
Injuries, material and environmental damage due to an improper
charging of the lithium-ion rechargeable battery!
Improper charging of the lithium-ion rechargeable battery can immediately
lead to dangerous situations and serious injuries, since the built-in lithium-ion
rechargeable battery can explode, heat up or ignite.
Only use the power supply unit supplied with the instrument!
Never leave the low-pressure controller near fire, nor in direct sunlight. If the
lithium-ion rechargeable batteries become hot, the built-in safety device is
activated and overcharging prevented. Heating the lithium-ion rechargeable
batteries can damage the safety device and can thus lead them to heat up
further, to cease to work or to ignite.
Do not continue to charge the low-pressure controller if it does not fully
recharge within the specified time (approx. 8 hours).
WARNING!
Injuries or damage to property through defective rechargeable battery
A defective rechargeable battery can lead to hazardous situations and injuries.
The CPC2000 low-pressure controller must absolutely not be used if, while
using, charging, or storing, it emits an unusual smell, feels hot or appears
abnormal in any other way.
The temperature range over which the lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be
charged is 0 ... 45 °C [32 ... 113 °F]. Temperatures outside of the specifications lead,
during the charging process, to heating or destruction to the rechargeable battery.
Do not charge the lithium-ion rechargeable battery outside this temperature range. In
addition to this range, the performance of the lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be
affected and the service life reduced.
Do not leave the rechargeable battery connected to the power supply unit for longer
than one day, since overcharging can shorten its service life.
When not being used, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time.

Make sure that the low-pressure controller is placed on a secure surface during
operation.
Make sure that the surface is stable.
6.2 Mechanical mounting
CAUTION!
Damage to the instrument
To avoid possible damage to the CPC2000 or to the test assembly, pay
attention to the following:
Only connect test and calibration installations once the system has been
depressurised (atmospheric).
The maximum pressure is P
max
= 1 bar atmospheric pressure
This pressure must NEVER be exceeded.

6.4 Switching on the low-pressure controller
By pressing the [On/Off] button, the model CPC2000 low-pressure controller is switched
on.
As soon as the instrument is switched on, a zero point correction is automatically carried
out, so that a zero-point drift is eliminated.
The controller requires a warm-up time of a few minutes (max. 15 minutes) to reach its
specified accuracy. Large changes in ambient temperature may make a longer warm-up
period necessary.
The subsequent preparation of a calibration requires only a few settings.
First, using the [MENU] button, select one of the stored pressure units and the variable
pressure change step in the range of 0 ... 50 %.
Then, once the full scale has been entered in Control mode, the pressure can be
easily increased or decreased by the defined level using the navigation buttons.
To check whether the calibration assembly or the test item has a leak, the [LEAK]
button can be used. With this, the pressure is locked into the test assembly and
any pressure drop there might be, as well as the time this takes, is measured and
displayed.
Never perform functional tests with compressed or medical air. This can
damage instruments with low pressure ranges.
Protect the instrument from sunlight, as this can lead to measuring errors.
6.5 Operating mode Control “CTRL
The CTRL mode is used for the calibration of pressure sensors and other pressure
instruments. In CTRL mode, the pump is active and regulates according to the desired
pressure. The internal sensor provides the current value on the display.
Setting
1. Press the [MENU] button.
2. Confirm the menu item MODE with [SELECT] and press the [▲] / [▼] buttons until
CTRL is displayed.
3. Confirm with [SELECT].
4. In the RANGE submenu, the upper limits of the pressure range are defined with the
[▲] / [▼] and [◀] / [▶] buttons.
5. Confirm with [SELECT].
6. In the UNIT submenu, define the pressure unit with the [▲] / [▼] buttons.
7. Confirm with [SELECT].
8. In the STEPS submenu, the step sequence in % is defined with the [▲] / [▼] and [◀] /
[▶] buttons.
9. Confirm with [SELECT].
10. With the [MENU] button, you can exit the submenu.

Operation
The instrument will revert to VENT mode
on exiting the menu, meaning the sensor
of the controller will be vented. In the
top centre of the display, the set point
of the pressure range will be displayed.
In the bottom centre of the display, the
percentage value can be read. On exiting
the menu, this value will be 0 %.
With the [SELECT] button, one can
switch between the target pressure
specification and the percentage value.
The percentage value can be changed with the [▲] or [▼] buttons (in the defined step
sizes) and with the [◀] or [▶] buttons.
The target pressure specification can only be changed with the [▲] or [▼] buttons.
With the [◀] or [▶] buttons, you can jump to the location of the target pressure
specification.
As soon as the controller display indicates a stable value, the data can be recorded:
In CTRL mode it is possible to adjust the zero point of the controller manually and to
check the connected instrument for leaks.
