Thetechnicianshouldwait1/2hourbetweenaddingXBMsalescodeinDealerConnectbeforeinstallingthe
WCMmodule.Intheinterim,thetechniciancaninstallallothercomponentsexcepttheWCMmodule.
NOTE:Priortoinstallation,obtainthefourdigitPINfromthedealership'spartsdepartment.
NOTE:ThewiTECHsoftwarelevelmustbeatthelatestreleasetoperformthisprocedure.
NOTE:Priortoinstallation,thetechnicianshouldcuttheKEYFOBIKBlanksusingtheoriginalvehicle'sKey
FOBIKasatemplate.
1.VINmustbeupdatedwiththesalescodeoftheaddedaccessoryinordertoenablesystemfunctionality.Usingthe
DealerCONNECTwebsiteandthewiTECHdiagnosticapplication,completethevehicleconfiguration.
2.Logontohttps://dealerconnect.chrysler.com.
3.OntheHomepage,selectthe"Service"tab.
4.OntheServicepage,lookfortheGlobalClaimsSystemareaandselect"VehicleOption".
5.OntheVehicleOptionpage,enterthelasteightdigitsoftheVIN,thenselect"View".
6.Onthe"AvailableVehicleOption'"list,scrolldownthelistandselect"XBMRemoteStartSystem".

tor/harness(1)locatedjustinfrontofthewindshield
washerreservoir.Iftheconnector/harnessispresent
itwillbeattachedtothevehicleharness.Ifthehood
switchconnector/harnessisnotpresent,usethe
suppliedwiringharnessinthekitandrefertothe
nextsectiontitledHOODSWITCHANDHARNESS
INSTALLATION(IFFACTORYHOODSWITCH
CONNECTOR/HARNESSISNOTPRESENT).
2.Disconnectandisolatethebatterynegativecable.
Waittwominutesforthesystemcapacitortodischarge
beforefurtherservice.
3.Openthevehicle'shood.
4.InstallthekitsuppliedJclip(1)totheinnerportionof
theradiatorsupportjustinfromthewindshieldwasher
resevoir.
5.Installthekitsuppliedhoodajarswitchbracket(1)us
ingthekitsuppliedbolt(2)totheinnerportionofthe
radiatorsupport.Tightentheboltto8Nm(71inlbs.).

bracket.

backofthebackoftheenginecompartmenttowards
thepassengerside.Securetheharnesswiththekit
suppliedtiewraps(2).
13.Routethekitsuppliedharness(1)aroundthebattery
towardstheTIPM.Securetheharnesswiththekitsup

(1)fromit'sbracket.
17.GrasptheTIPMandrotatetheassemblyuptofreeit
fromitsmountingbracket.Positiontheassemblyup
righttoaccesstheelectricalconnectorslocatedonthe
bottomoftheunit.
18.Removetheconnectormarked"D"(1).
19.Locatecavity3(3)inthewireendviewofthe"D"
connector.

WARNING:Toavoidseriousorfatalinjuryonvehiclesequippedwithairbags,disabletheSupplementalRestraint
System(SRS)beforeattemptinganysteeringwheel,steeringcolumn,airbag,seatbelttensioner,impactsensor
orinstrumentpanelcomponentdiagnosisorservice.Disconnectandisolatethebatterynegative(ground)ca
ble,thenwaittwominutesforthesystemcapacitortodischargebeforeperformingfurtherdiagnosisorservice.
ThisistheonlysurewaytodisabletheSRS.Failuretotaketheproperprecautionscouldresultinaccidental
airbagdeployment.

removalofthesetakeoutsandtheirconnector
insulatorscanresultindamagetotheairbagcircuitsortheconnectorinsulators.
28.Disconnecttheinstrumentpanelwireharnessconnectorsfromtheairbaginflators.Firmlygraspandpullthelock
straightoutfromtheconnectorinsulator,thenpulltheinsulatorsstraightoutfromtheairbaginflatortodisconnect
themfromtheconnectorreceptacles.
29.RemovethepassengerairbagandI/Pcover(1)fromtheinstrumentpanelasaunit.
