in.xtend
keypad extension system
Don't let cable length limit you — install your keypad
away from your spa pack with the in.xtend system.
The in.xtend system uses an Ethernet cable and two
communication boxes to connect your spa pack to your
keypad without being limited by distance.
The in.xtend system is ideal for swim spas and
inground spas.

Overview
OEM installation
The in.xtend-pk must be installed under the skirt.
This unit is connected to the spa pack.
The in.xtend-ky must be installed near the keypad.
This unit is connected to the keypad.
Both units must be installed in an upright position,
as illustrated.
We recommend that you install the units with #8 pan
head screws.

Spa pack and in.xtend-pk connection
The in.xtend-pk is connected to the spa pack through the orange “C” connector.
Keypad and in.xtend-ky connection
The keypad is connected to the in.xtend-ky through the orange “C” enclosure keying of the in.xtend-ky.

Connections
Turn off the power before connecting the in.xtend-pk to the spa pack, the in.xtend-ky to the in.xtend-pk
(with an Ethernet cable) and the keypad to the in.xtend-ky.

in.xtend-pk and in.xtend-ky connection
The connection between the in.xtend-pk and
the in.xtend-ky is done through a CAT5E cable
(not provided).
The terminal block to connect the CAT5E cable
is located in the front panel area.
Open the front panels of both in.xtend boxes.
Insert a CAT5E cable in the strain relief of each
in.xtend box.
Bare 1 ½’’ (~40 mm) on both extremities of the CAT5E
and ½’’ (~15 mm) on each inside wire.
Connect each wire as in the diagram.
The connections are identical on both in.xtend-pk
and in.xtend-ky.
Use a small screwdriver to push on the spring button.
Keep pushing on the spring button while inserting
the wire.
Make sure every wire is well inserted in the terminal
block. Lock the strain relief.
Leave the front open until the first power-up is complete
to make sure the whole system is fully functional.

Keypad configuration selection
As each keypad has its own output configuration
(number of outputs which can be controlled, excluding
light), the in.xtend-pk has a jumper to select the right
configuration. This is based on the individual options
of the keypad (1 OP, 2 OP, etc). The correct output
configuration can be found in the keypad model name,
such as in.k450-...3OP-... . The jumper connector is
located in the front (see image).
Select the correct configuration on your in.xtend-pk according to the following table:

when used with a CAT5E cable (24AWG):

Troubleshooting
LED
The in.xtend-ky has one red LED. This LED is lit if the 12 V
signal (White/Brown wire) is not properly connected.
If the LED is lit nothing will work. Turn off the power,
make sure all wires are properly connected and turn on
the power again.
Inversion in wire connection
If there is an inversion between the wires, nothing will
work at the power-up, and the keypad won’t display any
information. In this case, turn off the power, make sure
all wires are properly connected and turn on the power
again.
Wrong configuration selection
If after ensuring that all wires are connected the keypad
still doesn’t display the correct information the wrong
jumper configuration may be selected. In this case,
turn off the power, select the right keypad configuration,
and turn on the power again.
If you don’t remember the right configuration,
try each one and test every key on your keypad for
each configuration. There is only one configuration that
makes your keypad fully functional. Remember to turn
off the power before selecting another configuration.
Please note that the last three positions (positions 8 to
10) are used only for an in.k4xx keypad.

in.xtend

Ne laissez pas votre confort dépendre de la longueur
d’un câble, profitez du système in.xtend pour installer
votre clavier loin de votre contrôle de spa. Le système
in.xtend requiert un câble Ethernet ainsi que deux boîtes
de communication, afin de permettre la connexion de
votre contrôle de spa à votre clavier sans être limité par
la distance.
Le système in.xtend est idéal pour les spas de nage et
les spas creusés.

Installation
Le in.xtend-pk doit être installé sous la jupe du spa.
Ce module est relié à la plateforme spa.
Le in.xtend-ky doit être installé près du clavier.

Les deux unités doivent être installées à la verticale,
comme sur l’illustration.
Nous vous recommandons de fixer les modules à l’aide
de vis à tête bombée n°8.

Connexion entre la plateforme spa et le in.xtend-pk
Le in.xtend-pk se raccorde à la plateforme spa en utilisant le connecteur « C » orange.
Connexion entre le clavier et le in.xtend-ky
Le clavier se raccorde au in.xtend-ky en utilisant l’adaptateur à codage « C » orange du module.

Connexion entre le in.xtend-pk et le in.xtend-ky
Les modules in.xtend-pk et in.xtend-ky sont reliés entre
eux par un câble CAT5E (non fourni).
Le câble CAT5E se branche sur le bornier
situé sur le panneau avant.
Ouvrez le panneau avant des boîtiers in.xtend.
Insérez un câble CAT5E dans le presse-étoupe de
chaque boîtier in.xtend.
Dénudez les deux extrémités du câble C sur 1 ½’’
(~40 mm) et chaque fil du câble sur ½’’ (~15 mm).
Raccordez chaque fil comme indiqué sur le schéma.
Les câblages du in.xtend-pk et du in.xtend-ky sont
identiques.
Insérez chaque fil en appuyant sur le bouton à ressort
à l’aide d’un petit tournevis.
Assurez-vous que chaque fil est correctement inséré
dans le bornier. Bloquez le presse-étoupe.
Attendez la fin du premier démarrage avant de refermer
les modules.
Vous serez ainsi sûr que l’ensemble du système
fonctionne correctement.

Sélection de la configuration du clavier
La configuration de la sortie (le nombre de sorties
pouvant être commandées, à l’exclusion de la lumière)
est propre à chaque clavier. Le in.xtend-pk est donc
équipé d’un cavalier qui permet de sélectionner la
bonne configuration. La position du cavalier dépend des
options individuelles de votre clavier (1 OP, 2 OP, etc.) La
configuration de la sortie est indiquée dans le nom du
modèle du clavier : in.k450-… 3OP-… Le connecteur du
cavalier est situé sur l’avant (voir l’illustration).
À l'aide du tableau suivant, sélectionner la configuration de votre in.xtend-pk :

Résolution des problèmes
DEL
Le in.xtend-ky est équipé d’une DEL rouge qui s’allume
lorsque le fil du signal 12 V (fil blanc/brun) n’est pas
connecté correctement. Rien ne fonctionne lorsque
cette DEL est allumée. Mettez le système hors tension,
assurez-vous que tous les fils sont correctement
branchés, puis remettez le système sous tension.
Inversion dans le câblage
Rien ne fonctionnera à la mise sous tension et l’écran
du clavier n’affichera aucune information si des fils ont
été inversés. Mettez le système hors tension, assurez-
vous que tous les fils sont branchés correctement,
puis remettez le système sous tension.
Sélection de la mauvaise configuration
Si après avoir vérifié le câblage, le clavier n’affiche
toujours pas la bonne information, il est probable que
la position du cavalier ne corresponde pas à la bonne
configuration. Mettez le système hors tension, sélection-
nez la bonne configuration de clavier, puis remettez le
système sous tension.
Si vous ne vous souvenez pas de la configuration de
votre clavier, essayez chacune d’elles en testant chaque
fois toutes les touches du clavier. Une seule configura-
tion rend opérationnelles toutes les fonctions de votre
clavier. Pensez à mettre le système hors tension avant
de sélectionner une autre configuration.
Notez que les trois dernières positions (positions 8 à 10)
ne sont utilisées que par les claviers in.k4xx.
