INTRODUCTION

This portable and durable cement mixer handles plaster, stucco, mortar,

concrete and more. It is the ideal size for small to medium size projects. Some

project examples include building a backyard BBQ pit, pouring a concrete slab

for a shed, repairing an in-ground pool or to set fence posts just to name a few.

Gas engine driven so it can be used anywhere. The powder coated steel frame

and drum provides corrosion protection. The 9 in. wheels make it easy to move

over most surfaces. The drum swivels 360° for multiple pouring angles.

A separate manual for the gasoline engine is included. Please read the Engine

manual before using this product. The Engine manual is considered accurate

when information about the engine disagrees with this manual.

PERSONAL SAFETY

Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection

for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07

or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.

2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or to

reduce the effects of tool vibration.

3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.

4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the

work environment.

5. Wear the appropriate rated dust mask or respirator.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS

Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid

personal injury or damage to tool.

1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol

or medications.

2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the

moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.

3. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance

enables better control in unexpected situations.

SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING! DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from

this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury.

1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific

function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended purpose.

2. Do not exceed listed weight capacity or overload the mixer. This can

damage the equipment.

3. Beware of dynamic loading. That is when a sudden load movement

exceeds the tool’s capacity, causing a product failure.

4. Do not move the mixer when it is in operation or full. The mixer may

topple over and cause damage to the mixer or engine. Empty the mixer

before moving.

5. Establish a safe zone of six feet around the mixer and keep all bystanders

outside of this zone while the mixer is in operation.

6. Do not leave the tool unattended. Turn the machine OFF and wait for it to

come to a complete stop first.

7. Do not use with Epoxy 2-part resin mix. Only use to mix cement and mortar.

VIBRATION PRECAUTIONS

1. This tool vibrates during use. Repeated or long-term exposure to vibration

may cause temporary or permanent physical injury, particularly to the

hands, arms and shoulders.

2. Anyone using vibrating tools regularly or for an extended period should first be

examined by a doctor and then have regular medical check-ups to ensure

medical problems are not being caused by or worsened from tool use.

3. If you feel any medical symptoms related to vibrations (such as tingling,

numbness, and white or blue fingers), seek medical attention as soon as possible.

4. DO NOT use this tool if one of the following applies:

a. Pregnant

b. Impaired blood circulation to

the hands

c. Past hand injuries

d. Nervous system disorders

e. Diabetes

f. Raynaud's Disease

5. Do not smoke while operating the tool. Nicotine reduces the blood flow to

the hands and fingers, increasing the risk of vibration-related injury.

6. Wear suitable gloves to reduce the effects of vibration.

7. Use the tool with the least amount of vibration, when there is a choice

between different processes.

8. Do not use for extended periods. Take frequent breaks when using this tool.

9. Let the tool do the work. Grip the tool as lightly as possible (while still

keeping safe control of it).

10. To reduce vibrations, maintain the tool as explained in this manual. If

abnormal vibrations occur, stop using this tool immediately.

UNPACKING

WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the

missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction

and personal injury.

Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.

Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included Parts List. Dashed

numbers in parenthesis (Fig. 1-1) refer to a specific point in an illustration or image.

1. Insert the stand (#71) into the wheel

bracket (#4) and align the bolt holes

(Fig. 2-1). Place the stand on its side to

make this stage of assembly easier.

2. Fasten together using Hex Bolts (#64 and

#63), flat washers (#55) and hex flange nuts

(#5). Tighten with a wrench.

3. Insert Leg (#72) over the stand so that bolt holes line up (Fig. 2-2).

4. Fasten together using Hex Bolts (#64 and 63), Flat Washers (#55) and Hex

Flange Nuts (#5). Tighten with a wrench until secure.

5. Place Stand upright.

6. To attach the Wheels (#3) to the Wheel

Bracket, slide a Flat Washer (#2), Wheel

and second Flat Washer onto each end of

Bracket axle (Fig. 3-1).

7. Insert a cotter pin (#1) through the holes

in each end of the Bracket axle and bend

the cotter pins over to secure the wheels in

place (Fig. 3-2).

8. Set the Lower Drum (#48) with attached

Arm (#70) [Fig. 4-1] and Support Bracket

Seats (#29) [Fig. 4-2] into the stand

assembly and align the bolt holes.

9. Fasten together using Hex Bolts (#65), Flat

Washers (#55), and Hex Flange Nuts (#5).

Tighten with wrench until secure.

10. Mount the Handle Control Plate [Fig. 5-1

(#41)] to the Support Bracket Seat [Fig. 5-2 (#29)]

using Hex Bolts (#23) and Flat Washers (#55)

[Fig. 5-3].

11. Tighten to a point where the Arm (#70) can

still move.

12. Insert the Coil Spring [Fig. 5-4 (#43)] into the

Control Handle (#46).

13. Attach the Control Handle (Fig. 5-5) to the Arm

shaft with a Hex Bolt (#42), two Flat Washers

(#45) and a Hex Nut (#44).

14. Use a gasket sealer (not included) to stick the Rubber Gasket (#60) to the

Upper Drum (#59), making sure the holes in both align. The Gasket must

be flat on the Upper Drum to ensure a proper seal.

15. Place the Upper Drum onto the Lower Drum (#48), making sure the

mounting holes align in both.

16. Insert a Hex Flange Bolt (#57) into each of the eight mounting holes.

Fasten the drum halves together.

17. Position each Mixer Blade (#62) inside the assembled Drum with the

pointed end facing downward. The V-shaped bend in the Blades should

point in the direction of the Drum rotation (clockwise).

18. Fasten the Mixer Blades tops to the Upper Drum using Hex Bolts (#61),

Washers (#55), Seal Washers (#56) and Hex Flange Nuts (#5). Fasten the

Mixer Blades pointed ends to Lower Drum

using Hex Bolts (#61), Washers (#55), Seal

Gaskets (#56) and Hex Flange Nuts (#5).

19. Mount the engine box [Fig. 6-2 (#12)] to the

Support Bracket Seat [Fig. 6-1 (#29)] using

Hex Bolts (#23) and Flat Washers (#55).

20. Use Hex Bolts (#26), Flat Washers (#55),

and Clamps (#25) to attach the engine box

to the stand (Fig. 6-3). Tighten

connections until secure.

OPERATION

WARNING! Do not attempt to move the Cement Mixer when it is full and/or in

operation. Block the wheels with wheel chocks (not included).

CAUTION! Never leave the Cement Mixer running while unattended. Do not

turn Mixer off while full of cement.

1. Place the Cement Mixer on a solid, even surface.

2. Add material to the Drum. Typical maximum quantities include: 2 gallons

water with 3 shovels of cement and 15 shovels aggregate rock (using a

size 3 shovel, not included).

3. Adjust the Drum angle by pulling on the Control Handle. First, disengage the

locking pins by pulling the Control Handle away from the drum and then pushing

on the Handle until the desired angle is reached. Re-engage the locking pins.

4. Flip the switch to the ON (I) position

5. Once materials are mixed, tilt Drum and dump materials where needed.

The materials are dumped while the Drum is rotating.

6. When finished, flip the switch to the OFF (O) position.

7. Tilt the Drum angle as far down as possible to drain all fluids from Drum.

8. Clean, then store out of children’s reach.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

A separate manual for the gasoline engine is included. Please read the Engine

manual for instruction on maintaining the engine.

1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to

control and will have fewer problems.

2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or

worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.

3. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.

4. Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil/grease at all times.

5. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important information.

If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.

WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An

improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.

BELT INSPECTION AND TENSIONING

Retighten the V-Belt after the first 25 hours of use. Follow these steps to test

the tension:

1. Lift the Engine Cover.

2. Examine the Belt for cracks, tears in the backing or other damage. Replace

the Belt if damaged.

a. Loosen the Engine Bracket bolts (#5) and slide the Bracket (#6) up as

far as possible.

b. Slide the old Belt (#18) off of the Drum Pulley (#19) first, then remove

it from the engine Pulley (#16).

c. Put the new belt around the Engine Pulley first, then around the

Drum Pulley.

d. Move the engine Bracket down until the Belt is properly tensioned

according to the directions below. Tighten the engine Bracket bolts.

4. Check and adjust belt tension according to the steps below:

a. Press on the center of the longest span

on the belt with moderate finger

pressure. Then measure the deflection

distance, the distance that the belt

moved. The belt should deflect

anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 in. (Fig. 7-1).

b. If the belt deflects too much, tighten belt by loosening the engine

bracket bolts and moving the engine away from the Drum Pulley

slightly. Tighten the engine bracket bolts and retest the tension. If the

belt is too long to be properly tensioned, it must be replaced.

c. If the belt deflects too little, loosen the Engine Bracket bolts and lift the

Bracket upward. Tighten the Engine Bracket bolts and retest tension.

5. Replace the Engine Cover.

CLEANING

After use, immediately wash out all debris from the inside and outside of the

Cement Mixer. Scrub the inside of the Drum with a stiff, long handled bristle

brush for best results. Wipe external surfaces of the tool with clean cloth.

Do not apply water in or around the motor cover.

STORAGE

When not in use for an extended period, apply a thin coat of lubricant to the

steel parts to avoid rust. Remove the lubricant before using the tool again.

TRANSPORT

CAUTION! To reduce the risk of injury, ensure the drum is empty. Secure the

lift bar (#73) with the locking pin (#58) before moving or transporting.

When moving cement mixer, hold the handle and the lift bar together. The

wheels and handles do not provide adequate clearance, stability or support for

pulling the cement mixer up and down stairs and steps. The unit must be lifted

or pushed up a ramp.

DISPOSAL

Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.

Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for

electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT pollute the environment by allowing uncontrolled

discharge of waste oil.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function

properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician

service the tool.

INTRODUCTION

Cette bétonnière portative et durable peut s’utiliser avec du plâtre, du stuc, du

mortier, du ciment et plus encore. Elle présente la taille idéale pour les petits à

moyens projets. On peut l’utiliser, par exemple, lors de projets de fabrication

d’un puits pour barbecue, pour couler une dalle en béton destinée à recevoir

une remise, pour réparer une piscine creusée ou pour installer des poteaux de

clôture, pour en nommer que quelques-uns.

Munie d’un moteur à essence, ce qui permet de l’utiliser n’importe où. Cadre et

tambour en acier à revêtement en poudre protège contre la corrosion. Les roues

de 9 po facilitent le déplacement sur la plupart des terrains. Le tambour pivote

sur 360° pour vider la benne dans plusieurs positions.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ SPÉCIFIQUES

moteur. Videz le mélangeur avant de le déplacer.

5. Établissez une zone sécuritaire de six pieds tout autour du mélangeur et

assurez-vous que personne n’entre dans cette zone alors que le mélangeur

est en marche.

6. Ne laissez pas l’outil sans surveillance. Arrêtez l’appareil et attendez qu’il se

soit arrêté complètement.

7. N’utilisez pas avec un mélange de résine d’époxy en 2 parties. Utilisez

uniquement pour mélanger le ciment et le mortier.

3. Si vous ressentez des symptômes reliés aux vibrations (comme un

fourmillement, un engourdissement, des doigts blancs ou bleus), consultez

un médecin le plus tôt possible.

4. N'utilisez PAS cet outil en présence d'une des conditions suivantes :

a. Grossesse

b. Mauvaise circulation sanguine aux mains

c. Blessures antérieures aux mains

d. Troubles neurologiques

e. Diabète

f. Maladie de Raynaud

5. Ne fumez pas pendant que vous utilisez cet outil. La nicotine réduit la

circulation sanguine vers les mains et les doigts et augmente le risque de

blessure reliée aux vibrations.

6. Portez des gants appropriés pour réduire les effets des vibrations.

7. Utilisez l'outil qui produit le moins de vibration possible si vous pouvez

choisir entre différents processus.

8. N'utilisez pas l'outil pendant des périodes prolongées. Prenez souvent des

pauses lorsque vous utilisez cet outil.
