INTRODUCTION

These portable electric cement mixers are ideal for smaller concrete jobs such as

footings and bases, binding block and concrete patching. When the job is complete,

the portable electric cement mixers easily fit into the trunk of most vehicles.

WORK AREA

2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or to

reduce the effects of tool vibration.

a. Do not wear gloves when operating a tool that can snag the material

and pull the hand into the tool.

3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.

4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the

work environment.

5. Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot injury from

falling objects.

6. Wear the appropriate rated dust mask or respirator.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS

Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid

personal injury or damage to tool.

1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol

or medications.

2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the

moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.

4. Rotating Parts Hazard. Do not place tools, hoses, hands, arms, or any part

of the body inside the drum unless motor is off, and the power cord

unplugged.

5. Operate on a hard, level surface.

6. Do not leave the machine unattended while it is running.

7. Keep guards in place and in working order. Never operate the product

without the guards in place.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

WARNING! Do not touch or handle a live tool with any part of your body that

is wet or damp. Wet skin reduces resistance to electrical current, increasing

the danger of a serious or fatal shock.

WARNING! To reduce risk of electric shock, be certain that the plug is

connected to a properly grounded receptacle.

1. Disconnect the tool from the power supply before making any adjustments,

changing accessories, cleaning, servicing or when storing. Such preventive

safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.

2. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical

equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is an

increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.

3. Do not expose the tool to rain, snow, frost or any other damp or wet

conditions. Water entering a tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

4. Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the power switch. This

will prevent an accidental start-up when the power cord is plugged into the

power supply.

a. In the event of a power failure, turn off the machine as soon as the

power is interrupted. The possibility of accidental injury could occur if

the power returns and the unit is not switched off.

5. Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts and accessories

are designed with built-in safety features that may be compromised if

altered.

6. Make certain the power source conforms to requirements of your

equipment (see Specifications).

7. This tool is only for use on 120 V (single phase) and is equipped with a three-

prong grounded power supply cord and plug. Check with a qualified electrician

if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. If the tool

should electronically malfunction or break down, grounding provides a low

resistance path to carry electricity away from the user.

a. Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any way, as

this will render the tool unsafe.

b. Do not use any adapter plugs.

WARNING! All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician.

POWER CORD

1. Insert the power cord plug directly to the power supply whenever possible.

Use extension cords or surge protectors only when the tool's power cord

cannot reach a power supply from the work area.

a. When operating a tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked

W-A or W. These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk

of electric shock.

b. Use in conjunction with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). It is

recommended that the GFCI should have a rated residual current of

30 mA or less.

2. Do not operate this tool if the power cord is frayed, damaged or poorly

spliced, as an electric shock may occur, resulting in personal injury or

property damage.

a. Inspect the tool's power cord for cracks, fraying or other faults in the

insulation or plug before each use.

b. Discontinue use if a power cord feels more than comfortably warm

while operating the tool.

3. Keep all connections dry and off the ground to reduce the risk of electric

shock. Do not touch the plug with wet hands.

4. Prevent damage to the power cord by observing the following:

a. Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the plug from an outlet.

b. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.

c. Never use the cord to carry the tool.

d. Place the electrical cord in a position that prevents it from coming into

contact with the tool and getting caught by the workpiece. The cord

should always stay behind the tool.

5. Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass over

unprotected power cords.

a. Position power cords away from traffic areas.

b. Place cords in reinforced conduits or place planks on either side of

the power cord to create a protective trench.

6. Do not wrap the cord around the tool, as sharp edges may cut insulation or

cause cracks if wound too tight. Gently coil cord and either hang on a hook

or fasten with a device to keep cord together during storage.

UNPACKING

WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the

missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction

and personal injury.

Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.

Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the

included Parts List.

1. Place the frame assembly (16) in a clean work area

with a flat, level floor surface. See Fig.1.

2. Align the holes of two handles (21) and the frame

assembly (#16) and insert the hex bolt (#20), hex

nut (#17), spring washer (#18) flat washer (#19),

then secure handle sleeve (#22) to the handle

(#21). See Fig.2 or the parts diagram.

3. Assemble the wheels. A hex key is required.

a. Tilt the frame, so the bottom is easily accessible.

b. Slide a locking collar (#35) onto one end of the wheel shaft (#34). Secure

with an M8 x 16 locking screw (#38).

c. Slide the wheel shaft through the first frame axle opening from the

outside.

d. Slide the following components onto the wheel shaft In this order: a short

shaft sleeve (#36), a wheel with the bearing case facing outward (#37),

two locking collars (#35), the other wheel with the bearing case facing

outward in the opposite direction and the other short shaft sleeve.

e. Slide the wheel shaft through the other axle opening and secure with a

locking collar.

f. Push the left wheel, sleeve and locking collar against the frame. Secure

the locking collar with a locking screw. Check that the wheel moves freely

without wobble. Adjust the inner locking collar if necessary.

g. Repeat with the right wheel components.

h. Flip the frame, so it is sitting on its wheels.

4. Secure the motor & gear box assembly (#31) to the five holes in the frame

assembly (#16) with flat washer (#28), spring washer (#29) and hex nut

M6 (#30). Tighten them by wrench. See the parts diagram.

5. Attach the protective net (#27) to the frame assembly (#16). Secure the net

with three bolts M6 x 16 (#23) above the net, then the frame and flat

washers 6 (#24), spring washers 6 (#25) and nuts M6 (#26) on each bolt.

6. Secure the drum (#6) to the gearbox shaft

with T- bolt assembly (#1). Tighten firmly

with a wrench. See Fig. 3 or the parts

diagram.

7. Secure the mixer blades (#2) to the inner

side of drum (#3): Start with bolts M8 x 20

(#1) on the outside of the drum pushed

through the blade holes into the drum, then

a leather washer (#8) next to the drum

inside, and the mixer blades. Secure the blades with flat washer 8 (#9), spring

washer 8 (#10) and nuts M8 (#11). See the parts diagram.

8. The cement mixer assembly is complete. Retighten all nuts and bolts.

OPERATION

BEFORE EACH USE

Inspect the general condition of the cement mixer. Check for loose hardware,

misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged

electrical wiring, damaged or cracked belts, and any other condition that may

affect its safe operation.

OPERATING THE CEMENT MIXER

1. Operate the tool on a hard, level surface.

2. Connect the motor’s power cord to an electric outlet (or properly rated

three-prong extension cord).

3. To start the cement mixer, turn the motor’s power switch on the motor to

the ON position.

4. With the drum rotating, load material into the drum. Consult the material's

mixing instructions.

a. Typical maximum quantities include: 2 gallons water with 3 shovels of

cement and 15 shovels aggregate rock (using a size 3 shovel, not

included.)

5. Do not leave the machine unattended while it is running.

6. Once materials are mixed, tilt the drum and dump materials where needed.

The materials are dumped while the drum is rotating.

7. When finished, flip the Switch to the “OFF” (O) position and disconnect the

power cord.

8. Tilt the drum angle as far down as possible to drain all fluids from the

drum.

9. Immediately wash out all debris from the inside and outside of the cement

mixer. Scrub the inside of the drum with a stiff, long handled bristle brush

for best results. Wipe external surfaces of the mixer with a clean cloth.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

WARNING! To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Turn the

Power Switch of the tool to its “OFF” position and unplug the tool from its

electrical outlet before performing any inspection, maintenance, or

cleaning procedures.

Maintain the cement mixer by adopting a program of conscientious repair and

maintenance in accordance with the following recommended procedures.

1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to

control and will have fewer problems.

2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or

worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.

3. Periodically recheck all nuts, bolts, and screws for tightness.

4. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.

5. Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil/grease at all times.

6. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important information.

If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.

WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An

improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.

CLEANING

1. After each use, immediately wash out all debris from the inside and outside

of the cement mixer.

2. Keep the motor clean and free of buildup.

3. Do not apply water in or around the motor.

LUBRICATION

Inspect and lubricate the tool when required. Lightly grease all moving parts.

STORAGE

Store the product when it is not in use. Store it in a dry, secure place out of the

reach of children. Inspect the tool for good working condition prior to storage

and before re-use.

When not in use for an extended period, apply a thin coat of lubricant to the

steel parts to avoid rust. Remove the lubricant before using the tool again.

DISPOSAL

Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.

Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for

electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Solution

The drum will not

turn on.

Make sure that power is available and that the cord is fully

plugged in to the socket.

Reset the motor speed reducer.

Check if the motor speed reducer is burned out. If so, replace it.

Make sure the drum is not overloaded. If so, remove some of

the material.

Angle of the drum

will not adjust

Rotate the drum to make it match with the pin (26), then

tighten the T bolt.

AVERTISSEMENT ! Pour réduire les risques de choc électrique, assurez-vous

que la fiche est branché dans une prise de courant correctement mise à la

masse.

1. Débranchez l’outil de la source d’alimentation avant d’effectuer des

réglages quelconques, de changer des accessoires, de nettoyer l’outil, de

est muni d’un cordon d’alimentation et d’une fiche à trois broches avec

mise à la terre. Consultez un électricien qualifié si vous doutez de la mise à

la masse appropriée d'une prise. En cas de défaillance électronique ou de

bris de l'outil, la mise à la masse procure un trajet de faible résistance pour

éloigner l'électricité de l'utilisateur.

a. Ne retirez jamais la broche de masse et ne modifiez jamais la fiche

puisque cela fera en sorte que l'outil ne sera plus sécuritaire.

a. Lorsque vous vous servez d'un outil électrique à l'extérieur, employez un

cordon prolongateur portant la mention W-A ou W. Ces rallonges peuvent

être utilisées à l'extérieur et elles réduisent le risque de choc électrique.

b. Servez-vous de l'outil avec un interrupteur de circuit en cas de fuite à la

terre (GFCI). Il est recommandé que le disjoncteur de fuite de terre

possède un courant résiduel nominal de 30 mA ou moins.

2. N'utilisez pas cet outil si le cordon d'alimentation est effilé, endommagé ou

mal épissé, car un choc électrique peut se produire, ce qui pourrait causer des

blessures ou des dommages matériel.

a. Avant chaque utilisation, inspectez le cordon d'alimentation de l'outil;

vérifiez qu'il n'est ni fissuré, ni effiloché et que l'isolant et la fiche ne sont

pas endommagés.

b. Arrêtez d'utiliser l'outil si le cordon d'alimentation est trop chaud au

toucher.

3. Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, assurez-vous que toutes les

connexions sont sèches et qu’elles ne présentent aucun contact avec le sol. Ne

touchez pas la fiche avec les mains mouillées.

4. Pour éviter tout dommage au cordon d'alimentation, observez les précautions

suivantes :

a. Ne tirez jamais sur le cordon d'alimentation pour déconnecter la fiche de

la prise.
