Press the Run button to follow the programmed schedule. For maximum energy savings
while maintaining comfort, you can program the schedule such that the temperature is at an
economical level when you sleep or leave for work and at a comfortable level when you are
awake and at home. You can program up to four periods per day:
To program a period, you need to set its start time and its two temperature settings (one
when the thermostat is in cooling mode and another one when it is in heating mode). The
same settings are used every day from Monday to Friday and another set of settings are
used for Saturday and Sunday. For example, you could program all four periods for the
weekdays but only two periods (Wake and Sleep) for the weekends.

Adaptive Intelligent Recovery™ allows the thermostat to “learn” how long your furnace or air
conditioner takes to reach the set temperature. Simply program the desired times and desired
temperatures into the schedule. The thermostat will determine when to activate heating or cooling
so that the desired temperature is attained at the desired time.
Example: If you set the Wake time to 6 a.m. and the temperature to 70 °F (21 °C), the heat will
come on before the set time, so the temperature is 70 °F (21 °C) by the time you wake at 6 a.m.
Your thermostat has a feature that helps prevent damage to the compressor of your air
conditioning or heat pump system. Damage can occur if the compressor is restarted too soon after
shutdown. This feature forces the compressor to wait 5 minutes before restarting. During the wait
time, the message Cool On or Heat On flashes on the screen. When the safe wait time has
elapsed, the message stops flashing and the compressor turns on.

NOTE: Batteries are optional (serving as backup power) only if your
thermostat is connected to 24 VAC.
Install two fresh AAA batteries when the low-battery icon
flashes on the screen. The icon appears for 60 days before the
batteries are depleted.
Replace batteries once a year, or when you will be away for
more than a month.
Most settings are stored in non-volatile (permanent) memory.
Only the clock and the day must be set if the thermostat was
without AC power or batteries.
NOTE: The low-battery icon will not appear when the batteries are
depleted if the thermostat is connected to 24 VAC.
Battery replacement
Set the System switch to Off before removing the
batteries. Otherwise, the heating/cooling system could
remain activated even when batteries are removed.
