About This Guide
The Intimidator Wave IRC Quick Reference Guide (QRG) has basic product
information such as mounting, menu options, and DMX values. For more
information, download the User Manual from the Chauvet

Safety Notes
The following Safety Notes include important information about installation, use,
and maintenance.
Always connect the product to a grounded circuit.
Make sure the power cord is not crimped or damaged.
Always disconnect the product from the power source before cleaning it or
replacing the fuse.
Never disconnect the product from the power source by pulling or tugging on
the cord.
If mounting the product overhead, make sure there is adequate support for the
product’s weight and always secure the product using a safety cable.
Make sure there are no flammable materials close to the product when it is
operating.
Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while the product is on.
Do not touch the product’s housing when the product is operating because the
housing can be very hot.
The product is not intended for permanent installation.
The product is for indoor use only. It is rated at IP20.
Do not expose the product to rain or moisture.
Always connect the product to a power source that is within the voltage range
stated on the label or rear panel of the product.
Never connect the product to a dimmer or rheostat.
Make sure to replace the fuse with another of the same type and rating.
Always install the product in a location with adequate ventilation.
Always leave at least 20 in (50 cm) between the product and adjacent surfaces.
Be sure that no ventilation slots on the product’s housing are blocked.
Do not operate the product at an ambient temperature higher than
104 °F (40 °C).
Never carry the product by the power cord or any moving part.
Always use the hanging/mounting bracket to lift the product.
If there is a serious operating problem, stop using the product immediately.
Never try to repair the product. Repairs carried out by untrained people can
lead to damage or malfunction.
To eliminate unnecessary wear and improve its lifespan, during periods of
non-use completely disconnect the product from power via breaker or by
unplugging it.

To Begin
Carefully unpack the Intimidator Wave IRC and check that all the parts are in the
package, and are in good condition.
If the box, or any of the
contents, appear damaged from shipping, or show signs of
mishandling, save all packaging and file a claim with the carrier immediately, do
not notify Chauvet. Failure to report damage to the carrier immediately, or failure
to have all packaging available for inspection, could invalidate your claim.
For other issues, such as missing components or parts, damage not related to
shipping, or concealed damage, file a claim with Chauvet within 7 days of
delivery. For information on contacting Chauvet, see Contact Us
at the end of this

Description
The Intimidator Wave IRC is a moving light array with 5 independently controlled
moving heads emitting sharp, powerful, color-
changeable beams. It operates in
Standalone, Sound, Master/Slave, Remote, and DMX modes.

AC Power
Intimidator Wave IRC has an auto-ranging power supply that can work with an
input voltage range of 100240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
To eliminate wear and improve its lifespan, during periods of non-use
completely disconnect from power via breaker or by unplugging it.
Power Linking
Power linking describes products that are daisy chained together through their
Power In and Power Out sockets so that many products are
powered from one
outlet. For the maximum number of Intimidator
Wave IRCs that can be power
linked at 120 V or at 240 V, see the User Manual or the label on the product.

Fuse Replacement
1. Disconnect the product from power.
2. With a Phillips #2 head screwdriver, unscrew the fuse holder
cap from the housing.
3. Remove the blown fuse.
4. Replace with a fuse of the same type and rating.
5. Screw the fuse holder cap back in place and reconnect power.
Disconnect the product from power before replacing the fuse.
Mounting
Before mounting this product, read the Safety Notes. Use one or two mounting
points and one safety cable per pro
duct. Make sure the mounting clamps (such as
CLP-15 clamps from Chauvet
) are capable of supporting the weight of the
product. For the Chauvet
line of mounting clamps, go to the Chauvet website at

Mounting Diagram
When using only one mounting clamp with this fixture, you must use a clamp
with a captive bolt to prevent accidental loosening.

IRC-6 (Infrared
Remote Control)
The Intimidator Wave IRC is compatible with the IRC-6 from Chauvet.
The following IRC-6 buttons are used with the Intimidator™ Wave IRC:
<BLACKOUT>, <A>, <UV>, <W> - Turns LED on/off
<AUTO> , <0> thru <9> - Selects Auto program mode
<SOUND> - Selects Sound mode
<STROBE> - Strobing (020 Hz)
<SPEED> - Auto program speed
<SENSITIVITY> - Sets sound sensitivity
<%> - Dimmer
<MANUAL> - Sets white color level
<R> - Sets red color level
<G> - Sets green color level
<B> - Sets blue color level

The Intimidator Wave IRC works with a DMX controller. Information about
configuring the Intimidator
Wave IRC for DMX operation is in the User Manual,

Starting Address
To ensure full access to all channels in each DMX mode, the highest recommended
DMX address for this product is 479.
Master/Slave
Connection
The Intimidator Wave IRC works in Master/Slave mode. Information about
configuring this product for Master/Slave operation is in its User Manual, which is
