Vor dem Gebrauch

• Bitte lesen Sie alle im folgenden aufgeführten Informationen aufmerksam durch. Sie

geben wichtige Hinweise für den Einsatz, die Sicherheit sowie die Wartung/Pflege der

Geräte. Bewahren Sie die Gebrauchsanleitung sorgfältig auf und geben Sie diese

gegebenenfalls an den Nachbesitzer weiter.

• Fakir Geräte entsprechen den anerkannten Regeln der Technik Und dem aktuellen

Gerätesicherheitsgesetz.

• Diese Geräte erfüllen die Anforderungen der EG-Richtlinien 89/336/EWG

“Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit” und 73/23/EWG “Niederspannungsrichtlinie”.

Das Gerät trägt auf dem Typenschild die CE-Kennzeichnung.

• Fakir behält sich Konstruktions- und Ausstattungsänderungen vor.

Allgemeine Hinweise

• Das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen, wenn das Gehäuse erkennbare Schäden (Risse

oder Brüche) aufweist, die Anschlussleitung defekt ist oder der Verdacht auf einen

unsichtbaren Defekt (z.B. nach einem Sturz) besteht.

• Das Gerät nur dann anschließen, wenn die auf dem Typenschild angegebene

Spannung mit der Netzspannung übereinstimmt.

• Die Steckdose muss über einen 16A-Haushalts-Sicherungsautomaten abgesichert

sein.

• Gerät darf nicht in Fahrzeuge eingebaut und dort betrieben werden.

• Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, unsachgemäß bedient oder nicht fachgerecht repa-

riert und gewartet, kann keine Haftung für eventuelle Schäden übernommen werden.

• Für eine einwandfreie Funktion des Gerätes ist der Einsatz eines Luftfilters erforder-

lich. Das Gerät darf ohne Filter nicht benutzt werden.

• Luftfilter regelmäßig überprüfen und gemäß Gebrauchsanleitung reinigen oder aus-

tauschen.

• Beim Betrieb des Gerätes muss das Kabel abgewickelt sein.

• Die Netzanschlussleitung darf nur von einer autorisierten Fakir-Kundendienstwerkstatt

ersetzt werden.

• Reparaturen dürfen nur von Fachkräften (z.B. Fakir-Kundendienst - Adressen siehe

beiliegendes Kundendienst-Verzeichnis) durchgeführt werden. Bei unsachgemäßer

Reparatur könnten Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen.

• Das Gerät bedarf keiner aufwendigen Wartung und Pflege.

• Dieses Gerät wurde ausschließlich als Haushaltsgerät zum Entfeuchten von Räumen

im Wohnbereich entwickelt, es darf nicht zweckentfremdet werden.

• Das Gerät nur in vertikaler Stellung bzw. auf eine Seite gelegt transportieren. Vor dem

Transport ist das Kondenswasser aus dem Tank zu entleeren. Nach dem Transport

bzw. vor erneuter Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes mindestens eine Stunde abwarten.

• Für die Luftentfeuchtung müssen Türen und Fenster geschlossen sein. Den Arbeits-

bereich des Gerätes beachten: zwischen 5 - 35°C Raumtemperatur.

• Vor längeren Stillstandzeiten (z.B. Urlaub) Netzstecker ziehen.

Sicherheits-Hinweise

• Das Gerät so aufstellen, daß der Abstand von der Luftaustrittsöffnung zu Möbeln und

Wänden mindestens 50 cm beträgt.

• Keine Gegenstände in die Luftaustrittsschlitze bringen.

• Luftansaug- und Luftauslassschlitze nicht durch Handtücher, Kleidungsstücke, Gardi-

nen und dgl. abdecken.

• Vorsicht, Gerät nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe von Badewanne, Dusche oder Wasch-

becken benutzen. Der Schutzbereich ist entsprechend VDE 0100, Teil 701, zu beach-

ten.

• Mindestens 3 Minuten Wartzeit zwischen Aus- und Einschalten einhalten.

• Gerät nicht legen und keine Gegenstände auf das Gerät stellen.

• Kindern die Benutzung von Elektrogeräten nur unter Aufsicht gestatten.

• Den Stecker nie über die Anschlussleitung aus der Steckdose ziehen.

• Die Anschlussleitung nicht über scharfe Kanten ziehen oder einklemmen.

• Keine beschädigten Verlängerungsleitungen verwenden.

• Nach dem Gebrauch Gerät ausschalten, Netzstecker ziehen und Gerät abkühlen las-

sen. Staubgeschützt aufbewahren.

• Vor Reparatur- und Wartungsarbeiten Netzstecker ziehen.

• Das Gerät nicht im Freien aufbewahren.

• Das Gerät nur trocken oder mit einem leicht feuchten Tuch reinigen.

Entsorgungs-Hinweise

• Bitte werfen Sie die Verpackung und später das ausgediente Gerät nicht einfach weg,

sondern entsorgen Sie alles gemäß den von IhrerStadt-/Gemeindeverwaltung oder

vom zuständigen Entsorgungsunternehmen aufgestellten Richtlinien.

• Das Verpackungsmaterial sortenrein in die dafür vorgesehenen Sammelbehälter

geben, damit es der Wiederverwendung zugeführt werden kann.

• Das ausgediente Gerät bei der dafür vorgesehenen Sammelstelle ( Kühlschränke etc.)

abgeben.

Dieses leistungsstarke Gerät dient zum Entfeuchten der Raumluft in typischen

Feuchträumen wie Bad, Keller etc. und auch zur Verminderung der Luftfeuchtigkeit

in Wohnräumen im Interesse eines gesunden Wohnklimas.

Lufttfeuchtigkeit

Die Raumluft ist immer feucht, mal mehr und mal weniger, d.h. sie enthält Wasser, selbst

wenn sie kälter ist als 0°C. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit ist nicht das ganze Jahr über gleich, son-

dern ändert sich mit den Jahreszeiten. So steigt sie während der ersten Jahreshälfte

stark an um danach wieder abzufallen.

Die Luftfeuchtigkeit kann man auf zwei Arten angeben. Die absolute Luftfeuchtigkeit

wird in g/m³ gemessen und ist - unabhängig von der Temperatur - die Masse des

Wasserdampfes, die in einem Kubikmeter Luft vorhanden ist. Wichtiger für uns

Menschen (und alle Lebewesen) ist allerdings die relative Luftfeuchtigkeit, die man in

% angibt. Dieser Wert steht im Zusammenhang mit dem temperaturabhängigen

Sättigungsgrad der Luft.

Beispielsweise schwankt die absolute Luftfeuchtigkeit gesättigter Luft zwischen ~ 0,3 g

(bei -30°C) und ~ 55 g (bei +40°C). Die 0,3 g Wasserdampf in der Luft entsprechen bei

-30°C einer relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit von ~100 %, bei einer Temperatur von +40°C aber

nur ~0,6 %. Oder: neblige Luft von 0°C hat absolut nur 4,8 g/m³, ein Wert, der bei

Erwärmung auf 20°C ca. 28 % relativer Luftfeuchtigkeit entspricht. So wird aus feuchter

Luft (Nebel) sehr trockene Luft.

35 - 50 % rel. Luftfeuchte = (sehr) trocken

50 - 60 % rel. Luftfeuchte = normal

60 - 95 % rel. Luftfeuchte = feucht (schwül)

Je höher die Temperatur, desto mehr Wasserdampf kann die Luft speichern.

Die Luftfeuchtigkeit gelangt durch die normale Belüftung in unsere Wohnräume und setzt

sich dort fest. Wenn die Temperaturen im Herbst und Winter fallen, verliert die Luft immer

mehr ihre Fähigkteit Feuchtigkeit zu speichern (zu halten) und hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit

schlägt sich in Form von Nebel nieder.

In Wohnräumen schlägt sich vorhandene Feuchtigkeit bevorzugt an Fenstern und

Außenwänden bzw. an Stellen mit nicht ausreichender Belüftung nieder.

Die Folgen sind Verschlechterung des Wohnraumklimas bis hin zur Schimmelpilzbildung

an Wänden und Möbeln etc.

Wenn regelmäßiges und ausreichendes Lüften und/oder Heizen nicht zum gewünschten

Ergebnis führen, muss die Luftfeuchtigkeit mit einem elektrischen Luftentfeuchter ver-

mindert werden.

Luftentfeuchter haben einen ähnlichen Kühlmittelkreislauf wie Klimageräte. Bei diesen

Geräten sind jedoch die beiden Wärmetauscher (Verdichter- und Verdampferbatterie)

vereint und nur ein Ventilator erzeugt einen Luftstrom.

Die “feuchte” Raumluft wird beim Modell LE 46 vorne über das Ansauggitter und dem

dahinter befindlichen Luftfilter angesaugt, entfeuchtet und wieder “trocken” über das

Luftaustrittsgitter nach oben in den Raum zurück gegeben. Das der Raumluft entzogene

Wasser läuft automatisch in den Tank. Der herausnehmbare Luftfilter dient zur Reinigung

der angesaugten Raumluft und muss regelmäßig gereinigt werden.

Beim Einsatz des Luftentfeuchters wird die Luftfeuchtigkeit durch regelmäßige Luft-

umwälzung im Raum relativ schnell vermindert. Wenn keine neue Feuchtigkeit in die Luft

gelangt, wird die gesammelte Wassermenge immer geringer.

Die Entfeuchtungsleistung des Luftentfeuchters ist in außerordentlichem Maße von den

Bedingungen am Einsatzort abhängig:

Aufstellung

Mit dem versenkbaren Tragegriff [5] und den vier Laufrollen [14] lässt sich das Gerät

leicht und bequem in den Raum, der entfeuchtet werden soll, transportieren und aufstel-

len. Um einen einwandfreien Betrieb und unbehinderte Luftzirkulation zu gewährleisten,

müssen mindestens 50 cm freier Raum an allen Seiten des Gerätes sein.

Der Kondenswasserabfluss kann auf zwei Arten erfolgen:

Abfluss in den Tank

In dieser Standardfunktion läuft das Kondenswasser automatisch in den Tank [9] und

wird dort gesammelt. Wird der Maximalpegel erreicht, schaltet der Schwimmer [10] im

Tank über einen Schalter das Gerät aus und die Anzeige [1] “Tank voll” leuchtet auf.

In diesem Fall den Kondenswassertank nach vorne aus dem Gerät nehmen und entlee-

ren. Danach wieder passgenau einsetzen. Die “Tank voll”-Anzeige erlischt und das Gerät

ist wieder betriebsbereit.

Abfluss nach außen

In dieser Sonderfunktion kann das Kondenswasser über einen Ablaufschlauch direkt in

einen vorhandenen Bodenabfluss geleitet werden, was gerade beim Entfeuchten von

Kellerräumen vorteilhaft ist, da das Entleeren des vollen Kondenswassertanks entfällt

und somit ein echter Dauerbetrieb gewährleistet wird.

1. Den Kondenswassertank [9] herausnehmen.

2. Die kleine runde vorgestanzte Abdeckung [13] in der Geräte-Rückseite entfernen.

3. Einen Ablaufschlauch (Ø 14mm) in geigneter Länge von hinten durch die entstande-

ne Öffnung nach vorne schieben und auf das Ablaufrohr stecken.

4. Den Ablaufschlauch bis zum Bodenabfluss verlegen und darauf achten, dass das

Kondenswasser ungehindert abfließen kann.

Elektrischer Anschluss

Vor dem elektrischen Anschluss des Gerätes bitte überprüfen, ob

1. Die Netzspannung mit der auf dem Typenschild genannten Spannung übereinstimmt.

2. Die Steckdose mit einwandfreier Schutzerdung ausgerüstet und mit einem 16A-Haus-

halt-Sicherungsautomaten abgesichert ist.

3. Der Gerätestecker für die Steckdose geeignet ist, ggfs. muss dieser durch Fachperso-

nal mit einem geeigneten versehen werden.

Bei Nichteinhaltung dieser Unfallverhütungsvorschriften kann der Hersteller nicht haftbar

gemacht werden.

Inbetriebnahme

Gerätestecker [12] in die Steckdose stecken.

Überprüfen, ob die Anzeige [1] “Tank voll” erloschen ist. Ein Aufleuchten signalisiert

einen vollen bzw. einen nicht richtig eingesetzten Tank [9].

Einschalten:

Den Feuchtigkeitsregler [2] auf Stellung “MAX” stellen (max. Entfeuchtung), die Anzeige

[4] ”Ein/Aus” leuchtet auf.

Ausschalten:

Den Feuchtigkeitsregler [2] auf Stellung “0” stellen,die Anzeige [4] ”Ein/Aus” geht aus.

Anmerkungen:

Der Feuchtigkeitsgrad kann stufenlos vorgewählt werden und wird aus technischen

Gründen nur in einer Skala angegeben. Wobei “0” einer relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit von ca.

95 % (feucht schwül) und “MAX” einer relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit von ca. 30 % (sehr

trocken) entspricht.

Das Aufhängen bzw. Aufstellen eines Hygrometers (im Fachhandel erhältlich) im Raum

ist sehr empfehlenswert, damit realistische und nicht nur “gefühlte” Werte erzielt werden.

Hygrometer nicht an Außenwänden, sondern nur an Innenwänden anbringen.

Ist der gewünschte Feuchtigkeitsgrad erreicht, den Feuchtigkeitsregler [2] langsam nach

links (entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn - also Richtung “0”) drehen, bis das Gerät ausschal-

tet - die Anzeige [4] ”Ein/Aus” geht aus. Dieser Wert wird nun automatisch von dem Gerät

gehalten, d.h.würde die Luftfeuchtigkeit ansteigen, schaltet sich das Gerät solange wie-

der ein, bis der eingestellte Wert erreicht ist.

Autom. Abtauen

Sinkt die Raumtemperatur bis auf die untere Betriebsgrenze des Luftentfeuchters von

+5°C oder sogar darunter, so erreicht der Wärmetauscher im Gerät die Frostgrenze von

0°C, d.h.die vorhandene Feuchtigkeit würde gefrieren und den Wärmetauscher vereisen.

Um dies - und damit auch evtl. Folgeschäden - zu verhindern, ist das Gerät mit einer

autom. Abtaueinrichtung ausgestattet.

Bei +5°C Raumtemperatur wird die Automatik aktiviert und durch

Aufleuchten der Anzeige [3] “autom. Abtauen” signalisiert. Das Gerät schal-

tet ab und das Abtauen beginnt. Dieser Abtauvorgang kann bis ca. 15

Minuten dauern. Das Gerät schaltet sich danach automatisch wieder ein und die Anzeige

erlischt.

Wartung

Das Gerät bedarf keiner aufwendigen Wartung und Pflege. Vor Wartungseingriffen oder

Reinigung des Gerätes immer den Netzstecker [12] aus der Steckdose ziehen.

Reinigung des Gehäuses

• Mit einem trockenen oder leicht feuchten Tuch reinigen bzw. abwischen.

• Zur Reinigung kein Benzin, scharfe Haushaltsreiniger, Lösungsmittel oder ähnliches

verwenden, da sie Lack und Kunststoffteile beschädigen könnten.

Reinigung des Luftfilters

Der Luftfilter [8] befindet sich direkt hinter dem Luftansauggitter [7]. Es ist ein heraus-

nehmbarer Dauerfilter, der aus hygienischen Gründen wenigstens einmal pro Woche ge-

reinigt werden sollte. Ein mit Staub zugesetzter Luftfilter vermindert auch die Luftzirku-

lation und somit die Entfeuchtungsleistung und kann zum vorzeitigem Abschalten des

Gerätes führen.

• Zum Herausnehmen des Luftfilters [8] zuerst den Kondenswassertank [9] entfernen

und dann den Filter nach unten herausziehen.

• Verwenden Sie Ihren Staubsauger, um den auf dem Filter abgesetzten Staub zu ent-

fernen. Bei starker Verschmutzung kann der Filter in lauwarmen Wasser (nicht über

40°C) gereinigt werden.

• Nur einen vollkommen trockenen Filter wieder einsetzen.

Aufbewahrung

• Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen.

• Netzanschlussleitung [12] auf den Kabelhalter [11] an der Geräterückseite aufwickeln.

• Kondenswassertank [9] vollkommen entleeren und trocknen.

• Luftfilter reinigen [8] und vollkommen trocken wieder einsetzen.

• Gerät staubgeschützt abdecken und frostsicher in vertikaler Stellung aufbewahren.

Störungen

Im Falle einer Betriebsstörung prüfen Sie bitte, ob Sie nicht mit Hilfe dieser Anleitung die

Störung beseitigen können. Ist dies nicht möglich, wenden Sie sich bitte an den nächsten

Fakir-Kundendienst (Adressen siehe beliegendes Verzeichnis).

Before use

• Please read these instructions carefully as they contain important information concer-

ning the use, safety, care and maintenance of the appliance. Keep these Operating

Instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any subsequent owner of the appli-

ance.

• Fakir appliances conform with the currently accepted rules of engineering and safety

laws.

• Fakir appliances fulfil the demands of the EC Guidelines 69/336/ECC "Electromagne-

tic Compatibility" and 73/23/ECC "Low-Voltage Guideline". The appliance is marked

with the CE symbol on the rating plate.

• Fakir reserves the right to modify designs and specifications without notice.

Important information

• Do not use the appliance if the case is visibly damaged (cracks/breaks), the power

supply cable is defective, or if an invisible fault is suspected (e.g. if dropped).

• The device should only be connected to the mains if the voltage rating specified on the

type plate matches the mains voltage.

• The power socket must be protected by an automatic fuse (at least 16 A).

• The appliance must not be installed and operated in a vehicle.

• Fakir does not accept any liability for possible damage resulting from incorrect opera-

tion, incompetent repair and maintenance, or the appliance was misused for a purpo-

se for which it was not intended.

• Faultless operation of the appliance requires the use of an air filter. The appliance

must not be used without a filter.

• Check the air filter regularly and clean or exchange in keeping with the operating

instructions.

• The cable must be uncoiled before the appliance is used.

• Only an authorized Fakir service workshop is entitled to exchange the power supply

cable.

• All repairs should be completed by a Fakir service workshop (see enclodes list of

addresses). Improper repairs can be hazardous for the user.

• The appliance does not require any elaborate care and maintenance.

• This household appliance is intended exclusively for dehumidifying rooms in the home;

it must not be used for any other purpose.

• The appliance must be transported in an upright (vertical) position or on its side. The

tank must be drained of condensed water before the appliance is transported. Wait for

at least one hour after transporting or before the appliance is set into operation again.

• Doors and windows must be closed to dehumidify rooms. The operating range of the

appliance is between 5-35°C room temperature.

• Disconnect the power supply plug from the mains socket when the appliance is not in

use for extended periods (e.g. holidays).

Safety precautions

• Locate the appliance in such a manner that there is a space of at least 50 cm between

the air outlet opening and furniture or walls.

• Do not insert any objects in the air outlet slots.

• Never cover the air intake and outlet slots with towels, clothing or curtains, etc.

• CAUTION: Do not operate in the immediate vicinity of baths, shows or washbasins.

Observe the protective distance in conformity with VDE 0100, Part 701.

• Always wait for at least 3 minutes between switching off and switching on again.

• Do not place the appliance on its side, and do not place any objects on the appliance.

• Children must only use electrical appliances under the supervision of adults.

• Never disconnect the power supply plug from the mains outlet socket by pulling the

cable.

• Never jam the power supply cable or pull it over sharp edges.

• Never use a damaged power supply cable.

• Always turn off the appliance after use. Disconnect the power supply cable and allow

the appliance to cool down before it is stored in a dust-protected place.

• Always disconnect the power supply cable prior to all repair and maintenance work.

• Do not use the appliance in the open air.

• Only clean the appliance with a dry or slightly moist cloth.

Disposal instructions

• Do not throw away the packaging and the appliance at the end of its service life, but

rather dispose of them in conformity with the corresponding guidelines of the local aut-

horities or responsible waste disposal company.

• Depose the packaging in collecting bins according to the given type of material so that

it can be recycled.

• When the appliance has reached the end of its service life it should be handed in at

the corresponding collecting point (e.g. refrigerators) envisaged for this purpose.

This efficient appliance is used to dehumidify the air in typical moist rooms such

as the bathroom, cellar etc., and to diminish the humidity in living-rooms to create

a more healthy climate.

Air humidity

The air in a room is always moist, sometimes more, sometimes less i.e. it contains water,

even if the temperature is less than 0°C. The humidity in the air does not remain the same

throughout the year. It changes with the seasons, rising sharply in the first half of the year,

followed by a gradual decline.

The humidity in the air can be indicated in two ways. The absolute air humidity is mea-

sured in g/m², indicating the volume of water vapour present in a cubic meter of air, inde-

pendent of the temperature. More important for humans (and animals too) is the relative

humidity indicated in %. This value indicates the temperature dependent saturation level

of the air.

For instance, the absolute humidity of saturated air can fluctuate between ~0.3 g (at -

30°C) and ~55 g (at +40°C). The 0.3 g water vapour in the air at -30°C equals a relative

humidity of ~100%, and at +40°C only ~0.6%. Alternatively, foggy air at 0°C has an abso-

lute humidity of only 4.8 g/m3 - a value that equals approx. 28% relative humidity at a

temperature of 20°C. This shows how moist air (fog) can be very dry.

35-50% relative humidity = (very) dry

50-60% relative humidity = normal

60-95% relative humidity = moist (sultry)

The higher the temperature, the more water vapour is held by the air.

Air moisture enters the home through normal ventilation and remains trapped in the

rooms. As the temperature drops in the autumn and winter, the air is unable to hold the

moisture any longer so that high humidity levels become fog.

In the home the moisture in the air condenses on windows and outer walls, i.e at points

that are not adequately ventilated. This results in a deterioration of the air climate in the

home, even resulting in fungal growth on walls and furniture, etc.

If regular and adequate ventilation and/or heating are unable to bring about the desired

results, then the moisture in the air must be reduced with an electric dehumidifier.

Air dehumidifiers have a coolant circuit similar to that of an air-conditioning unit. The air

dehumidifier, however, unites the two heat exchangers (compressor and evaporator

units), and there is only one fan to circulate the air.

Model LE 46 draws in the "moist" room air through the inlet grille and the subsequent air

filter where the moisture is "extracted" so that "dry" dry is returned to the room through

the outlet grille. The water extracted from the air is automatically collected in a tank. The

removable air filter cleans the intake air and therefore has to be cleaned regularly.

The regular air circulation induced by the dehumidifier diminishes the air humidity level

relatively quickly. The collected amount of water diminishes continuously as the air is una-

ble to take up new moisture.

The dehumidifying rate of the LE 46 dehumidifier depends greatly upon the conditions

prevailing at its point of operation:

Æ room size

Æ room temperature, and

Æ relative humidity

The amount of water collected always increases with:

Æ rising temperature and humidity levels

Æ larger room volumes

Æ the supply of new moisture

Installation

The hold-away carrying handle [5] and the four castors [14] make it easy to move the

dehumidifier to the room that is to be dehumidified. Unimpeded air circulation is neces-

sary for perfect operation, i.e. there must be at least 50 cm of free space all around the

appliance.

Two ways to drain off the condensed water:

Draining into the tank

With this standard function the condensed water is automatically collected in the tank [9].

A float switch [10] in the tank turns on the "Full Tank" indicator [1] as soon as the water

reaches maximum level in the tank.

Remove the water tank from the front of the appliance and empty. Ensure that the tank is

properly returned. The "Full Tank" indicator is turned off and the dehumidifier is ready to

resume operation.

Drain off to the outside

With this special function the condensed water is conducted by way of a hose directly into

a drain in the floor. This can be of immense advantage when dehumidifying cellars since

it is no longer necessary to regularly empty the full water tank, thereby enabling conti-

nuous operation.

1. Remove the condensed water tank [9].

2. Remove the small prepunched cover [13] at the back of the appliance.

3. Push a draining hose (Ø 14mm) of suitable length through the resulting opening and

over the drain pipe.

4. Conduct the draining hose to the drain in the floor and ensure that the condensed

water can flow off unimpeded.

Electrical connection

Complete the following checks before the appliance is connected to the mains:

1. The mains voltage must match the voltage specified on the type plate.

2. The mains socket must be correctly earthed and protected by an automatic fuse (at

least 16 A).

3. The power supply plug must be suitable for the given mains socket; the plug must be

exchanged by a skilled authorized person if this is not the case.

The manufacturer cannot be held liable if these accident prevention rules are not obser-

ved.

Setting into operation

Insert the power supply plug [12] into the mains socket.

Check that the "Full Tank" indicator [1] lamp has been turned off. If it continues to remain

illuminated, then the tank [9] is either full or has not been properly returned.

Switching on:

Set the moisture controller [2] at "MAX" (max. dehumidifying rate), indicator lamp [4]

lights on.

Switching off:

Turn the moisture controller [2] back to "0", indicator lamp turnes [4] off.

Explanatory remarks:

The moisture level is infinitely variable; the scale is purely for technical reasons. "0"

equals a relative humidity of approx. 95% (moist, sultry), and "MAX" a relative humidity

of approx. 30% (very dry).

It is advisable to hang up a hygrometer (available from appropriate stockists) in the room

to gain objective values rather than "sensed" values. Always hang up the hygrometer on

an inside wall, never on an outside wall.

When the desired humidity level has been achieved, slowly turn the moisture controller

[2] to the left anti-clockwise (i.e. in the direction of "0") until the appliance switches off.

The dehumidifier will then automatically maintain this value, i.e. it will automatically be

switched on again as soon as the humidity rises, and will continue to operate until the set

value is regained.

Automatic defrosting

If the room temperature drops down to the +5°C bottom limit of the dehumidifier's opera-

ting range, or even lower, the heat exchanger inside the appliance reaches the frost limit

of 0°C, i.e. existing moisture in the heat exchanger would freeze. This and any possible

damage, has been prevented by the incorporation of an automatic defroster.

Defrosting is automatically activated at a room temperature of +5°C, and the

corresponding lamp [3] lights up to indicate "automatic defrosting". The

dehumidifier is switched off and defrosting commences. this can take up to

15 minutes, after which the dehumidifier is automatically switched on again and the indi-

cator lamp is turned off.

Maintenance

The appliance does not require any elaborate care and maintenance. Always disconnect

the power supply plug [12] from the mains socket before completing any maintenance or

cleaning work on the appliance.

Cleaning the case

• Always clean or wipe with a dry or slightly moist cloth.

• Never use spirts, aggressive household cleaners, solvents or similar substances as

this could damage the paintwork and plastic parts.

Cleaning the air filter

The air filter [8] is located directly behind the air intake grille [7]. It is a removable per-

manent filter which, for hygienic reasons, should be cleaned at least once a week. An air

filter clogged with dust restricts air circulation, thereby diminishing the dehumidifying

capacity of the appliance with the result that it is turned off prematurely.

• First remove the condense water tank [9] and then remove the air filter [8] by pulling

it downwards.

• Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust that has been retained by the filter. The fil-

ter can be cleaning in lukewarm water (not warmer than 40°C) to remove intense

grime.

• The filter must be completely dry before it is returned.

Storage

• Disconnect the appliance from the mains.

• Wind the power supply cable [12] onto the cable holder [11] at the back of the appli-

ance.

• Empty and dry the condensed water tank [9].

• Clean the air filter [8] and return only after it is completely dry.

• Cover the appliance to protect it from dust, and store in an upright (vertical) position in

a guaranteed frost-free place.

Faults

Check in the event of a fault so see whether you can remedy it yourself. If this is not the

case then please contact your nearest Fakir service workshop (see enclosed list of

addresses).

• L'appareil ne nécessite que peu de maintenance et d'entretien.

• Cet appareil est uniquement conçu pour l'utilisation dans les ménages afin de déshu-

midifier les pièces dans l'habitat, il ne doit pas être utilisé à d'autres fins.

• Lors du transport, l'appareil doit se trouver en position verticale resp. sur le côté. Avant

le transport, vider l'eau de condensation contenue dans le réservoir. Après le transport

resp. avant la remise en service, attendez une heure au minimum.

• Pour la déshumidification de l'air, les portes et les fenêtres doivent être fermées.

Domaine d'application de l'appareil : entre 5 et 35°C de température ambiante.

• Lorsque l'appareil n'est pas utilisé pendant une période prolongée (p. ex. vacances),

débranchez la fiche secteur.
