TECHNICAL FILE
PVC
PVC (polyvinyl chloride), is an amorphous thermoplastic polymer
whose properties variate depending on the degree of polimerization,
the process of production and the plastic content. There are two
main kinds which are the rigid PVC (PVC-U) and the exible PVC
(PVC-P). Their features can be combined through coextrusion
process. PVC is a ductile, hard, versatile and high resistant material.
This material has a high dimensional stability due to its minimum
absorption of water, is recyclable and can be manufactured in
multiple nishes and colors.

Tests
Emac®, always concerned about the quality of its products, has made tests to verify the quality of
the materials used in its manufacturing processes. Although PVC has its features dened, these can
vary depending on the proportion of plastic or aditives. That is why Emac® wanted to prove one of the
features that consider very important to the knowledge of the material: Resistance to chemicals.
It has been tested the resistance of PVC-P(exible) and PVC-U(rigid) to different chemicals in the
Technological Institute of Plastic (AIMPLAS) belonging the RED IT. The results are in the following chart:
PVC is one of the most extended and used plastic materials in the world. Its excellent standard
properties, improvable and adaptable by using different aditives, makes it apropriate to multiple
sectors. Is common to nd PVC in medical/hospital products, packaging for food, high technology
pieces, construction and sanitation products, toys, wall coverings, housings of electronic products,
textiles, etc.
In Emac®, knowledgeable about the possibilities of this material, we offer multiple options of products
made of PVC, both extrusion and coextrusion with materials such as PMMA. We have edge protectors,
escotias, expansion joints, listellos, ooring separations... in different colors and decorative nishes.
Due to its high resistance, stability and quality of the material, of the proles made of PVC of Emac®
have a excellent performance in the function for which they were designed.
