Before turning on:

Remove base from packaging.
Remove wedges and tapes from the
internal components.
•
Clean your product inside with a soft
cloth or sponge, lukewarm water and
mild soap.
•
Do not use sharp objects, alcohol,
flammable products or abrasive
cleaners. They can damage the
painting of your freezer and/or
refrigerant circuit.
•
Do not place nor use electrical
apparatuses within the product.
Important:
•
Never connect your freezer to
double or triple extension cords
together with another appliance
in the same wall outlet.
Do not use an extension cord.
That may overload power supply,
impairing the operation
of your freezer, and
resulting in fire
accidents.
Use an exclusive
wall outlet only.
•
If you live in an area where there
are voltage oscillations greater
than 10% of the rated voltage, do
not plug your freezer directly into
the wall socket.
•
In case of voltage oscillation,
install an automatic voltage
stabilizer with power output of at
least 1000W between the freezer
and the wall outlet.
•
Be sure that the voltage stabilizer
can withstand the oscillations in
your area.
Where do I Start?

Ground wire (grounding):
•
Grounding is necessary in any voltage
(127 or 220V), and for any electric
electronic appliance. The grounding
wire shall not be connected to the
neutral conductor of the power
system, nor to cable tubing, gas or
water pipes, taps or faucets.
When grounding, follow the
grounding standards in force and call
an authorized electrician.
The incorrect installation of the
ground wire might result in accidents
such as fire, electrical shock or other
personal injuries.

Check if the voltage supplied is the
same as that on the tag
attached near the
power supply cord plug.
The freezer shall be

Location:
The freezer shall neither be installed next
to heat sources (stoves, heaters etc.) nor
in a place that receives
direct sun rays.
The installation in an
inadequate place impairs
the operation of your
freezer and increases
power consumption.
How to build in:
Consider the following minimum
distances to assure adequate air
circulation:
•

Power supply of your residence:
The electric wires of your residence shall
be of copper and have minimum sections

By doing so you will ensure the good
performance of the product.
You will also prevent your freezer
components from touching walls, other
products or furniture avoiding
unpleasant noise.
Leveling feet:
Place the freezer in its final position.
Turn the leveling feet
located in the front of
the product so that they
touch the floor, locking
and leveling the
product.

Important:
•
To facilitate the closing of doors,
turn the leveling feet a little
further, slightly tilting the product
backwards.
Explosion Hazard
Keep flammable materials such
as gasoline away from freezer.
Failure to do so can result in
death, explosion, or fire.
Fire Hazard
Never place lit candles or similar
products (oil lamp) on top of the
freezer.
Failure to follow this instruction
can result in life or fire risk.
Door reversal:
Your freezer leaves factory opening to
the left. In case you wish the doors to
open to the right, call a service agent or
your dealer to avoid the risk of
accidents. Door reversal is not covered
by the warranty. This service will be
charged.
Heating on the sides:
•
Heating of some external areas of
the freezer is normal.
That happens to avoid the
formation of moisture. However,
under critical conditions of room
temperature and humidity,
moisture may be observed.
Dry the product with a soft cloth.
•
If your appliance does not have a
plug with a ground pin, connect
the ground wire of the freezer (the
green wire attached to the back of
the appliance) to a proper ground.
•
If the power supply cord is
damaged, it must be replaced by
one of the same type or by
a special set provided by the
manufacturer or its authorized
technical service.

HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZING CONTROL
The internal temperature of you freezer can be set to better meet food preservation
conditions according to the room temperature of your house.
The freezing control of your freezer leaves factory set to Medium.
To adjust the control, do follow the table below.
Model 240/280
Using the Freezer
Fast freezing button.
Turn off after 18 hours.
Green light:
It indicates that the
product is on.
Freezing Control.
Yellow light:
It indicates that the fast freezing function is actuated.
Room temperature
Cold days with temperatures below 20°C
Days with temperatures between 20°C and 35°C
Hot days with temperatures above 35°C

The yellow light shows that the
“bar expert” function is activated.
Switches off automatically after
countdown of the time selected.
Display: Shows the programmed
temperature and the freezing countdown

To adjust the temperature press the selection buttons until the display shows the
desired temperature. See the table below:
BAR EXPERT FUNCTION
Quick cooling of drinks:
This function was developed to provide
accelerated cooling of drinks in the
“bar expert” compartment.
•
To enable the function, press the
“bar expert” button until you get to
the desired temperature.
Each button press increases the time
10 minutes.
•
The display shows the countdown
time and when reached will sound
an alarm indicating the function
finished and the drink should be
removed.
•
To switch off the alarm, open the
door and remove the drink.
Important:
•
The alarm is only switched off after
the opening and closing of the
door.
•
In case you want to disable the
function before the selected time,
press the “bar expert” button until
the display shows the temperature
again/ The yellow light on the control
panel will appear showing that the
function was disabled.
Important:
•
The final drink temperature may
vary according to the initial
temperature, weather conditions
and the number of times the door
is opened.
Ice ready:
This function, when enabled, provides
an accelerated cooling in the freezer
with the aim of making ice quicker in
the Easy Ice system ice trays.
•
To enable it press the “bar expert”
button up to 2 hours.
The display shows the countdown
time and at the end of this an alarm
will sound indicating that the
function reached the end.
To switch off the alarm open the
door and remove the ice.
Important:
•
To avoid breaking receptacles, do
not leave drinks inside the freezer.
•
After the finish of the countdown,
the display returns to show the
previously selected product
temperature.

STORING FOOD AND
BEVERAGES
•
Food shall be stored in adequate
packages like plastic bags or
containers with
hermetic lids.
This procedure
avoids the removal
of natural humidity
from the food,
preserving quality.
ELECTRONIC MONITORING
For your tranquility the Brastemp
freezer has a system which monitors its
functioning.
•
In case of any irregularity an alarm
sounds and the red panel light will
flash.
There are several situations in which the
alarm will be enabled:
Door open alarm:
•
When opening the door the red light
on the control panel will show.
An audible alarm is activated if the
door remains open for more than 2
minutes.
To disable it close the door or press
the “door alarm” button.
Temperature alarm:
•
This system monitors the internal
temperature of the product.
If the is any increase in the internal
temperature the alarm will sound, for
this avoid placing hot food in the
freezer.
To switch off the alarm press the
“door alarm” button.
Important:
•
The “door alarm” button does not
turn off the alarm of the “bar
expert” function.
For this it is necessary to open and
close the freezer door.
•
When storing food in the freezer,
prepare small portions to allow faster
freezing and the entire use of each
portion.
•
Do not place hot foods inside the
freezer. Allow them to cool to room
temperature.
That helps saving
power consumption,
and assures the good
operation of the
product.
Important:
•
It is recommended to operate the
freezer for at least 2 hours before
storing food or beverages in it. That
time is necessary for temperature to
stabilize inside the product.
•
Once defrosted, foods should not be
refrozen as they might lose their
natural characteristics.
•
Liquids increase in volume when
frozen. Take care when storing
bottles or other closed containers in
the freezer. Those containers may
brake.
•
Do not store toxic products in your
freezer as they may contaminate
foods.
•
Try to open the door only as long as it
takes to place and remove food.
You will be reducing power
consumption and improving the
performance of your freezer.
•
Each freezer is able to freeze a
maximum amount of food at every 24
hours.
Avoid exceeding the freezing
capacity of your product.
Refer to the identification tag
located at the rear of the product.
•
Always observe the expiration date of
frozen food, indicated by the
manufacturer.

It is important that air circulation
outlets always be unobstructed.
•
When opening the door, it is normal
for your freezer drawers and for the
door fast freezing compartment to
get foggy due to the entry of hot air.
FAST FREEZING
Fast freezing is an effective way to
preserve the natural characteristics of
food. When fast freezing, the ice
crystallization phase - that takes place
between 0°C and -5°C - is faster which
minimizes the loss of water in the food
and preserves its natural constitution.
•
Your freezer is
provided with a
compartment
ideal to speed up
the freezing of
foods.
•
For a faster freezing, place food in
this compartment and press the fast
freezing button in the control panel.
The yellow light in the panel will go
on, indicating that the fast freezing
function is actuated.
This function does not turn
off automatically. We recommend to
turn the fast freezing function off
after 18 hours.
•
In case you wish to interrupt the fast
freezing function, at any time press
again the button that actuates this
function.
•
See freezing capacity at the
identification tag located at the rear
of the product.
BAR EXPERT COMPARTMENT
(Model 280 Electronic)
•
This compartment should be used to
store the drinks when a fast freezing
function is being used.
It allows better organization and use
of the internal space

If necessary, set the freezing control
to the position desired.
Defrosting tray:
Water in this container is normal.
It is water from automatic defrosting
and will be slowly and naturally
evaporated.

WHEN YOU ARE AWAY
•
When you are away for a long time,
unplug the product and empty the
freezer. Leave the door open to avoid
odors.

ventilation
system
Cracks are due to displacement of ice.
It is the same noise of ice trays being exposed to room
temperature.
This noise is characteristic of the motor.
It means that the compressor is operating.
This noise is characteristic of gas expansion in the refrigeration
system. It is a noise similar to the one generated when we
inflate a gas balloon.
This noise is characteristic of water flowing.
It happens when the product is defrosting.
Noise characteristic of the fan. It shows that the No-frost system
is working properly. That system assures uniform temperature in
the product and makes defrosting unnecessary.

Le fil terre ne doit pas être connecté

d’eau ou gaz ou robinet. Pour
connecter le fil terre, suivez les normes
en vigueur et appelez un électricien
spécialiste agréé. La connexion
incorrecte du conducteur terre peut
provoquer des accidents comme feu,
choc électrique ou autres dommages
personnels.

installée correspond à celle indiquée

Le courant d’alimentation de votre
résidence:
Les fils de votre résidence doivent être en

Pieds stabilisateurs:
Mettez le congélateur à
sa place définitive.
Tournez les pieds
stabilisateurs jusqu’à ce qu’ils touchent
le sol, en suspendant les roulettes.
Réversion de la porte:
Votre congélateur sort d’usine avec la
porte ouvrant du côté gauche. Si vous
souhaitez ouvrir la porte du côté droit,
appelez le service clientèle ou votre

El acúmulo de agua en este recipiente es
normal. El agua es proveniente del
descongelamiento
automático y será
lenta y
naturalmente
evaporada.

compartimiento
ideal para acelerar
el congelamiento
de los alimentos.

Para un congelamiento rápido,
coloque los alimentos en este
compartimiento y accione el pulsador
de congelamiento rápido en el panel
de control.
La luz amarilla del panel se encenderá
indicando que la función
congelamiento rápido está accionada.
Esta función no se desconecta
automáticamente. Se recomienda
desconectar la función congelamien-
to rápido después de 18 horas.
