USER INSTRUCTIONS
1) DESCRIPTION
DIN rail-mounted switching power supply, with 3x 320 - 3x 600 VAC (450 - 800 VDC) input, suitable for three-phase power lines and DC lines.
2) INSTALLATION
Use DIN-rails according to EN 60715. Installation should be made vertically (see Fig.4). For better device stability fix the rail to the wall close to the point where the
device is to be mounted. To guarantee sufficient convection, we recommend observing a minimum distance to other modules (see Fig.3).
The product has over-temperature protectionrestricted airflow will cause local temperatures to be too high, which may trigger the over-temperature protection to
restart after cooling.
To get normal operation reduce the temperature of the air surrounding the power supply, increase the ventilation or reduce the load (see Fig.8)
3) CONNECTIONS
The device is equipped with screw terminal blocks. To avoid sparks, do not connect or disconnect the connectors before having previously turned-off input power and
waited for internal capacitors discharge (minimum 1 minute)
In order to comply with UL certification,
When the ambient temperature is 60°C, use a copper wire with a specification of 90 °C;
When the ambient temperature is > 60°C and 85°C, use a copper wire with a specification of 105 °C;
Only use wires with a minimum insulation strength of 800 V (input) and 60 V (output).
4) INPUT PROTECTION
The device input is provided with varistors against overvoltage. Input is provided with internal fuses T/4A / 250 VAC, thus an external short circuit / overcurrent
protection must be provided by the end user (see Fig.6).
For operation on a single-phase system, a protection fuse must be provided on each phase.
Surge protection: it is strongly recommended to provide external surge arresters (SPD) according to local regulations
5) AC INPUT CONNECTION
The device can be connected to a three phase AC line with rated 3x 380 - 3x 480 VAC (see Fig.7). Please connect the PE first.
6) DC INPUT CONNECTION
(+) Positive pole (-) Negative pole can be connected to any two terminals of L1, L2, L3, and PE terminal is connected to GND. Rated voltage 530 680 VDC.
The device is also suitable for photovoltaic or wind turbine applications (see Fig.7).
7) OUTPUT CONNECTION
Vout can be adjusted with a potentiometer to a wide range (see Fig.1)
24 V: Adjustable range 24 V 28 V;
36 V: Adjustable range 36 V 42 V;
48 VAdjustable range 48 V 56 V
Check the Vout before connecting the power supply to the load. The output voltage is set to the rated value, and the continuous output power [current x voltage] shall not
exceed the nominal power.
8) OUTPUT PROTECTION
The device is protected against overload (OL) / short circuit (SC) / overvoltage (OV) / over temperature (OT).
Overload (OL) enters constant current (C.C.) mode: When the power supply provides 120%~150% rated output current, the product will enter constant current mode
4s after a certain overload current point.
1. Before the product enters the constant current mode: the output voltage remains the same as the rated voltage, and the output current changes with the load
current.
2. When the output current of the product continues to increase, the constant current point is triggered: at this time, the output voltage gradually drops to close to 0,
and the output current will be constant at the constant current point of 120%~150 %Io, and it will automatically recover after the abnormal load condition is
removed.
Short circuit (SC) enters constant current (C.C.) mode: when the output load is short-circuited, the output voltage drops to close to 0, and the output current will be
constant at the constant current point of 120%~150%Io recover.
Output overvoltage protection (OVP): The output is protected by internal faults or potential OV from the load. The protection phenomenon is that the output voltage is
turned off and hiccupped. The output voltage will recover automatically after the abnormality is resolved. The overvoltage protection point depends on the product
model:
24 V: overvoltage protection point 35 V;
36 V: overvoltage protection point 53 V;
48 V: overvoltage protection point 60 V
Over-Temperature Protection (OTP): If the internal temperature exceeds safe limits, the output voltage shuts down and hiccups. The device automatically restarts after
it cools down. To restore normal operation, reduce the air temperature around the power supply, increase cooling, or reduce the load (see Fig.8).
9) FEEDING DC MOTORS
Considering that when the motor starts, its instantaneous power is much higher than the power under the nominal current, so it may trigger the over-current protection,
when powering the DC motor, it is recommended to use C.C. (constant current) current limiting mode. When the transient power does not exceed 150%, Io/4s can start
normally. When it exceeds the range, the customer needs to design a constant current mode to supply power to the back-end motor.
NOTE: Motors generate high conducted noise on the DC line. Therefore, it is not recommended to power other motors and noise-sensitive equipment on the same line.
10) OPERATION WITH BATTERY
The power supply cannot directly charge the battery. When the battery needs to be charged, a battery management unit needs to be designed.
