tongue or inyour mouth.
• If your physician or cardiologist has advised
you to receive antibiotic premedication before
dental procedures, you should consult your
dentist before using this instrument or any
other oral hygiene aid.
• Close supervision is necessary when this
product is used by, on or near children or people
with special needs.
• If the Pik Pocket™ tip (not included in all
models) separates from the sha for any
reason, discard tip and sha and replace with
new Pik Pocket™ tip (PP-100E).
• Do not use this product for more than
5 minutes in each two-hour period.
• Unit will shut o automatically aer 3 minutes
of continuous usage.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.

Charging Unit Prior to First Use
Plug the power supply into the wall outlet and connect the magnetic plug to the
unit (see image) for approximately 4.5-5 hours. The charge indicator on the unit
will glow while charging and then begin to ash momentarily every 3 seconds when
the unit is fully charged. A full charge will last for approximately 4 weeks when unit
is used once a day for one minute a day. When the batteries are in need of charging
(approximately 30% charge le) the charge indicator light will blink 3 times quickly to
indicate that the user should consider recharging the unit. A complete recharge will
take 4.5-5 hours. If you use your Water Flosser once a day or less, it is recommended
that you charge it every 3-4 weeks. If you use it twice a day or more, charge the unit
more frequently.
Preparing the Reservoir
Remove the reservoir, li the reservoir lid, and ll with warm water. Fill with warm
water. Replace the reservoir over the base and press down rmly and close the lid.
Inserting and Removing Tips
Insert tip into the center of the Water Flosser handle, pressing down rmly until the
tip clicks into place. The colored ring will be ush with the top of the handle if the tip
is correctly locked into place. To remove tip from the handle slide the tip eject button
on the handle.
Prime Unit (First Time Use Only)
Set pressure control on base to high (pressure setting No.10), point the handle and
tip into sink. Turn power and water ON until water ows from the tip.
Adjusting the Pressure Setting
Set the pressure control on the base of the unit to the lowest setting (pressure
setting No.1) for rst-time use. Gradually increase pressure over time to the setting
you prefer – or as instructed by your dental professional.
Using the Water Flosser
Always place the tip in your mouth before turning the unit power ON. With
water switch on handle in OFF position, turn power on. Lean over sink and slightly
close lips enough to prevent splashing while still allowing water to ow
from mouth into the sink. Turn water switch ON. When nished, turn water
switch and power OFF. During use you can stop the ow of water by sliding the
water switch on handle to the OFF position.
NOTE: Motor will continue to run.

For best results, start with back teeth and work toward the front teeth. Direct
the stream at a 90-degree angle to your gumline with tip in mouth. Glide tip along
gumline and pause briey between teeth. Continue until you have cleaned the inside
and outside of both the upper and lower teeth.
One-Minute Timer/30-second Pacer
The Water Flosser will create a short pause at 30-seconds, to remind you to move
to the other arch of your mouth and another short pause at 1-minute to signal you
have reached the recommended cleaning time. The unit will continue to run without
pauses until the unit is turned o. Depending on the pressure setting, some water
will remain in the reservoir aer 1-minute.
When Finished
Turn the power OFF. Empty any liquid le in the reservoir.
NOTE: If you used mouthwash or other solution besides water, see “Using
Mouthwash and Other Solutions” section.

TIP USAGE
Pik Pocket™ Tip
The Pik Pocket™ tip is specically designed to deliver water or anti-bacterial
solutions deep into periodontal pockets.
To use the Pik Pocket™ tip, set the unit to the lowest pressure setting. Place
the so tip against a tooth at a 45-degree angle and gently place the tip under the
gumline, into the pocket.
Tongue Cleaner Tip
Set to lowest pressure setting, place tip in the center/middle of your tongue about
half way back. Pull forward with light pressure. Increase pressure as you prefer.
Orthodontic Tip
To use the orthodontic tip, gently glide tip along gumline, pausing briey to lightly
brush area between teeth and all around orthodontic bracket, before proceeding to
the next tooth.

CLEANING AND TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR WATERPIK® WATER FLOSSER
Implant Denture Tip
The Implant Denture tip is specically designed to access areas that are unreachable
with a Classic Jet tip, Plaque Seeker™ tip, Orthodontic tip, or Pik Pocket™ tip. To use
the Implant Denture tip, place the tip on the lingual side at one end of the implant
retained denture. The opening of the tip is directed between the natural gum tissue
and the denture directing the water under the denture. Slowly glide the tip along
the space between the natural gum tissue and the denture until you have cleaned
underneath the entire length of the denture.
Plaque Seeker™ Tip
To use the Plaque Seeker™ tip, place the tip close to the teeth so that the bristles are
gently touching the teeth. Gently glide tip along gumline, pausing briey between
teeth to gently brush and allow the water to ow between the teeth.
Using Mouthwash and Other Solutions
Your Waterpik® Water Flosser can be used to deliver mouthwash and antibacterial
solutions. Aer using any special solution, rinse unit to prevent clogging by partially
lling reservoir with warm water and running unit with tip pointed into sink until
unit is empty.
Cleaning
Before cleaning, disconnect power supply/charger cord. Clean the product when
necessary by using a so cloth and mild non-abrasive cleanser.
The water reservoir is removable for easy cleaning and is top rack dishwasher safe.
Removing Hard Water Deposits / General Cleaning
Hard water deposits may build up in your unit, depending on the mineral content
of your water. If le unattended, it can hinder performance. Cleaning internal
parts: add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to a full reservoir of warm water. Point
the handle and tip into sink. Turn unit ON and run until reservoir is empty. Rinse by
repeating with a full reservoir of clean warm water.
This process should be done every 1 to 3 months to ensure optimal performance.

If leaking due to a damaged hose, replacement hoses and handles can be purchased
at www.waterpik.com or contact Water Pik Inc. customer service for a self service
repair kit.

Battery Removal
The rechargeable battery inside the product cannot be replaced and shall be removed
at the end of the product’s life prior to recycling.
This process is not reversible and voids the product warranty.
Observe basic safety precautions when you follow the procedure below. Be sure to
protect your eyes, hands, ngers and the surface on which you work. Deplete the
battery charge until the unit no longer operates prior to battery removal.
1. Turn unit over. Remove product label (Model WF-12 Only)
2. Remove the 4 rubber feet by carefully prying them upward with a small at
head screwdriver.
3. Remove 5 screws from the indicated areas with a small Phillips head screwdriver.
4. Turn unit upright and remove reservoir and reservoir lid.
5. Remove upper housing by pulling it upward as shown.
6. Remove screws from the indicated areas with a small Phillips head screwdriver.
7. Pull circuit board assembly aside. Remove 4 screws from the indicated areas
with a small Phillips head screwdriver.
8. Li up battery cover as shown.
9. Remove battery from housing.

10. Cut the black battery wire with a pair of scissors or side-cutters then cut the
red battery wire.

NOTE: DO NOT CUT BOTH BATTERY WIRES AT THE SAME TIME.
11. Please recycle the unit and safely dispose of the battery per local or
state requirements.

Water Pik, Inc. warrants to the original consumer of this new product that it is free
from defects in materials and workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase.
Consumer will be required to submit the original purchase receipt as proof of

Water Pik, Inc. will replace the product, provided the product has not been abused,
misused, altered or damaged aer purchase, was used according to instructions, and
was used only with accessories or consumable parts approved by Water Pik, Inc.

Chargement de l’appareil avant la première utilisation
Branchez le bloc d’alimentation dans la prise murale, puis branchez la che magnétique
dans l’appareil (voir image) pendant environ 4,5 à 5 heures. Le témoin de niveau de
charge de l’appareil restera illuminé pendant la charge, puis clignotera pendant un
certain temps toutes les 3 secondes lorsque l’appareil sera entièrement chargé. Une
charge complète confèrera environ quatre semaines d’autonomie lorsque l’appareil
est utilisé une fois par jour, pendant une (1) minute. Lorsque les piles doivent être
rechargées (environ 30 % de charge restante), le témoin lumineux de charge clignote
rapidement 3 fois pour indiquer que l’appareil devrait être rechargé. Une recharge
complète prend 4,5 à 5 heures. Si vous utilisez l’hydropulseur une fois par jour ou moins,
il est recommandé de le recharger toutes les 3 à 4 semaines. Si vous l’utilisez deux fois
par jour ou plus, l’appareil doit être rechargé plus souvent.
Préparation du réservoir
Soulevez le couvercle du réservoir, retirez le réservoir et remplissez-le d’eau tiède.
Réinstallez le réservoir sur le socle en appuyant fermement, puis fermez le couvercle.
Insertion et retrait des embouts
Insérez l’embout au centre du manche de l’hydropulseur en appuyant fermement
jusqu’à ce que l’embout s’emboîte en position. Si l’embout est correctement emboîté,
l’anneau coloré doit être en aeurement avec le dessus du manche. Pour retirer
l’embout du manche, faites coulisser le bouton d’éjection de l’embout sur le manche.
Préparation de l’appareil (première utilisation uniquement)
Placez le réglage de la pression (situé sur le socle) en position de puissance élevée
(réglage de pression n° 10), orientez le manche et l’embout vers le lavabo. Mettez
l’appareil en MARCHE ainsi que l’alimentation en eau jusqu’à ce que de l’eau s’écoule
par l’embout.
Ajustement du réglage de la pression
Mettre le réglage de la pression (commutateur situé sur le socle) en position de
puissance la plus basse (réglage de pression n° 1) pour une première utilisation.
Augmenter progressivement la pression jusqu’au réglage souhaité – ou utiliser le
réglage recommandé par le dentiste.
Utilisation de l’hydropropulseur
Toujours placer l’embout dans la bouche avant de mettre l’appareil en marche.
Mettez l’appareil sous tension avec le commutateur d’alimentation en eau sur la
position OFF (arrêt). Penchez-vous au-dessus du lavabo et gardez vos lèvres
susamment fermées pour empêcher les éclaboussures, tout en laissant
l’eau s’écouler de votre bouche dans le lavabo. Réglez le commutateur
d’alimentation en eau sur la position ON (marche). Une fois terminé, réglez le
commutateur d’alimentation en eau et l’appareil sur la position OFF (arrêt).
Durant l’utilisation, vous pouvez arrêter l’eau de couler en faisant glisser le commutateur
d’alimentation en eau sur la poignée en position OFF (arrêt).

REMARQUE : Le moteur continue à fonctionner.
Pour les meilleurs résultats, commencez par les dents du fond et progressez vers les
dents de devant. Placez l’embout dans la bouche et orientez le jet à un angle de 90
degrés vers la ligne gingivale. Faites glisser l’embout le long de la ligne gingivale et
faites de courtes pauses entre les dents. Poursuivez jusqu’à ce que vous ayez nettoyé
l’intérieur et l’extérieur des dents supérieures et inférieures.
Minuterie (1 minute)/Minuterie de 30 secondes
L’hydropropulseur fait une courte pause de 30 secondes pour vous indiquer que vous
devez passer à l’arcade suivante dans la bouche et fait une autre courte pause au
bout d’une minute pour vous indiquer que vous avez atteint le temps de nettoyage
recommandé. L’appareil continue de fonctionner sans marquer de pause jusqu’à ce
que vous l’éteigniez. Selon le réglage de pression, il est possible qu’il reste de l’eau
dans le réservoir après 1 minute.
Quand vous avez ini
Eteignez l’appareil. Videz le réservoir.

Si vous avez utilisé un bain de bouche ou une autre solution que de l’eau,

UTILISATION DE L’EMBOUT
Embout Pik Pocket

L’embout Pik Pocket
MC
est spécialement conçu pour diriger l’eau ou les solutions
antibactériennes dans la profondeur des poches parodontales.
Pour l’utilisation de l’embout de périodontie Pik Pocket,
MC
sélectionnez la plus
basse pression sur l’appareil. Mettez l’interrupteur d’alimentation en eau situé
sur la poignée à la position OFF (arrêt). Placez l’extrémité souple de l’embout contre
une dent, en formant un angle de 45 degrés, et introduisez doucement l’extrémité de
l’embout sous la gencive, dans la poche. Appuyez sur le bouton de mise sous tension
sur le socle et placez l’interrupteur d’alimentation en eau à la position ON (marche).
Embout gratte-langue
Mettez l’interrupteur d’alimentation en eau à la position OFF (arrêt) sur la poignée.
Sélectionnez le réglage de pression le plus bas, placez l’embout au centre/milieu de
la langue vers le milieu de la bouche (avant/arrière). Appuyez sur le bouton de mise
sous tension sur le socle et placez l’interrupteur d’alimentation en eau à la position
ON (marche). Déplacez le gratte-langue vers l’avant en exerçant une légère pression.
Augmentez la pression si nécessaire.

NETTOYAGE ET DÉPANNAGE DE L’HYDROPROPULSEUR WATERPIK®
Embout orthodontique
Pour l’utilisation de l’embout orthodontique, faites glisser doucement l’embout le long
de la gencive; faites une brève pause pour brosser doucement entre les dents et autour
des composants de l’appareil orthodontique, avant de passer à la dent suivante.
Embout pour implants dentaires complets
L’embout pour implants dentaires complets est spécialement conçu pour
atteindre des zones de la bouche que les embouts Jet classique, Plaque Seeker
MC
,
Orthodontique, et Pik Pocket
MC
ne peuvent pas atteindre. Pour utiliser l’embout pour
implants dentaires complets, placez l’embout du côté lingual, à une extrémité de la
prothèse retenue par des implants. L’ouverture de l’embout est dirigée entre les tissus
gingivaux naturels et la prothèse, orientant l’eau sous la prothèse. Faites lentement
glisser l’embout le long de l’espace entre les tissus gingivaux naturels et la prothèse,
jusqu’à ce que vous ayez nettoyé le dessous de la prothèse, sur toute sa longueur.
Embout Plaque Seeker

Pour l’utilisation de l’embout Plaque Seeker,
MC
placez l’embout très près de la dent
pour que les soies de la brosse soient en léger contact avec la dent. Suivez la ligne
gingivale et marquez une brève pause entre les dents pour brosser en douceur et
permettre à l’eau de passer entre les dents.
Utilisation de bains de bouche et autres solutions
Vous pouvez utiliser l’hydropropulseur Waterpik® pour l’administration d’un
rince-bouche ou d’une solution antibactérienne. Après l’utilisation d’une quelconque
solution spéciale, rincez l’appareil pour éviter la formation d’une obstruction :
remplissez partiellement le réservoir avec de l’eau tiède et faites fonctionner
l’appareil pour éjecter tout le contenu du réservoir dans l’évier
(embout orienté vers l’évier).
Rangement des accessoires
Le rangement des accessoires pour les deux embouts que vous utilisez le plus souvent
se trouve sous le couvercle du réservoir. On y accède facilement en retirant ce dernier.
Nettoyage
Avant une opération de nettoyage, débranchez l’appareil de la prise de courant.
Nettoyez le produit lorsque c’est nécessaire, avec un linge doux et un produit de
nettoyage non agressif et non abrasif.
Le réservoir d’eau est amovible, ce qui facilite le nettoyage; on peut aussi le placer
dans le panier supérieur d’un lave-vaisselle.

Nettoyage général / enlèvement des dépôts d’eau dure
Des dépôts dus à l’eau dure peuvent s’accumuler dans votre appareil en fonction
de la teneur en minéraux de votre eau. Si ceux-ci ne sont pas nettoyés, ils peuvent
entraver le bon fonctionnement de l’appareil. Nettoyage des parties internes :
Ajoutez 2 cuillères à soupe de vinaigre blanc dans un réservoir rempli d’eau tiède.
Dirigez la poignée et l’embout vers l’évier. Mettez l’appareil en MARCHE et faites-le
fonctionner jusqu’à ce que le réservoir se vide. Rincez en répétant l’opération avec
un réservoir rempli d’eau tiède et propre.
Il est recommandé d’eectuer cette opération tous les 1 à 3 mois pour maximiser
la performance.
Fuite
Si vous constatez une fuite au niveau d’un tuyau endommagé, vous pouvez acheter
des tuyaux et poignées de rechange sur www.waterpik.com ou contacter le service
clientèle de Water Pik Inc. pour obtenir un ensemble de réparation/remplacement
pour utilisateur.
Retrait de la batterie
La batterie rechargeable, qui se trouve à l’intérieur de l’appareil, ne peut pas être
remplacée et doit être enlevée à la n de la durée de vie du produit, avant le recyclage.
Ce processus est irréversible et annule la garantie du produit.
Respectez les consignes de sécurité élémentaires lorsque vous procédez au retrait
de la batterie comme suit. Protégez vos yeux, vos mains, vos doigts et la surface
sur laquelle vous travaillez. Avant son retrait, déchargez la batterie jusqu’à ce que
l’appareil ne fonctionne plus.
1. Retournez l’appareil. Enlevez l’étiquette du produit (modèle WF-12 seulement).
2. Enlevez les quatre pieds en caoutchouc en faisant levier avec un petit tournevis
à tête plate.
3. Enlevez les cinq vis dans les zones indiquées à l’aide d’un petit tournevis
cruciforme.
4. Remettez l’appareil en position verticale, puis retirez le réservoir et son couvercle.
5. Retirez le logement supérieur en le tirant vers le haut comme illustré.
6. Enlevez les vis dans les zones indiquées à l’aide d’un petit tournevis cruciforme.
7. Sortez la carte de circuits imprimés. Enlevez les quatre vis dans les zones
indiquées à l’aide d’un petit tournevis cruciforme.

8. Soulevez le couvercle de la batterie comme illustré.
9. Sortez la batterie de son logement.
10. Coupez le l noir de la batterie à l’aide de ciseaux ou d’une pince coupante,
puis coupez le l rouge.
REMARQUE : NE PAS COUPER LES DEUX FILS DE LA BATTERIE EN MÊME TEMPS.
11. Veuillez recycler l’appareil et mettre la batterie au rebut de manière sécuritaire,
conformément aux exigences locales et provinciales.
