• Do not use an extension cord or plug adaptor with

this unit.

3. Do not operate unit with front removed.

Failure to follow the above precautions could result in electrical

shock, fire or personal injury,

If the air conditioner has a serial plate rating of 115 volts

and up to and including 7.5 amps the unit may be on a fuse

or circuit breaker with other devices. However, the ma;dmum

amps of all devices on that fuse or circuit breaker can not exceed

the amps of the hlse or circuit breaker.

If tile air conditioner has a serial plate rating of 115 volts

and oreater than 7.5 anlps it must have its own fuse or cir-

cuit _reaker, and no other device or unit should be operated

on that fuse or circuit breaker.

If tile air conditioner has a serial plate rating of 2_0 vohs

it inust have its own fuse or circuit breaker, and no other

device or unit should be operated on that fuse or circuit

breaker.

can be found on tile back page of this manual.

1. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Grounding Requirements

1. Air conditioner has a three-prong grounding

plug on power supply cord, which must be

plugged into properly grounded three-prong

wall receptacle for your protection against

possible shock hazard. For models up to and

including 7.5 amperes use grounding type

wall receptacle to match cord plug (Fig. 1).

2, For models above 7.5 amperes use single

outlet grounding type wall receptacle to

match cord plug (Fig. 2).

Caution: We recommend that a qualified electrician

insta# unit in accordance with the National Electrical

Code and local codes and ordinances.

Caution: Use copper conductors only.

Product Damage:

Do not cut, alter or remove any of the expanded

polystyrene (white foam) inside this air conditioner.

For Your Safety:

Do not store or use gasoline or other flamlnable vapors

and lic uids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.

Tie fumes can create a fire lazar( or exp osion.

Window Requirements

1. Air conditioner is factory prepared for instal-

lation in standard double hung window (air

conditioner cannot be installed in other types

of windows without modification, consult

with a qualified installation serviceman).

2, Install the air conditioner in a window where

there will be enough clearance around the

cabinet to allow ample circulation of air

through the unit.

Caution: Do not block air circulation to outside

louvers of cabinet.

3. All supporting parts should be secured to

firm wood, masonry or metal,

Unit & Window Size

1. If your air conditioner cabinet is 20" wide, it will fit window openings 23 7/8" to 39" in width,

Minimum opening height is ] 2 3/4" from bottom of sash to sill, Removal of both filler panels

permits installation in windows with a minimum opening width of 20 1/4", This size unit requires

one support channel (Fig. 3).

2, If your air conditioner cabinet is 23 3/4" wide, it will fit window openings 27 5/8" to 39" in width,

Minimum opening height is ] 6" from bottom of sashto sill, Removal of both filler panels permits

installation in windows with a minimum opening width of 24", This size unit requires two support

channels (Fig. 4).

1. Attach filler panels to the existing holes in the cabinet using the supplied screws (Fig. 5).

1, Open and mark center line of window. Depending on the size of your unit, attach one support

channel on center line of window or one 8" to the right and one 8" to the left of the center line.

2, Screw leveling bolt in correct 3/8" threaded hole of support channel. Depth of window sill will

determine which 3/8" threaded hole to use (Fig. 6).

3, Place support channel over line on window

sill with end against window sill. Mark win-

dow sill through locating hole A of support

channel (Fig. 6).

4, Move support channel away from window

sill until mounting hole B is over mark on

window sill. Secure support channel by dri-

ving 1" long wood screw through mounting

hole B into window sill (Fig. 6).

5. Adjust leveling bolt so curved top of support

channel is 1/4" below top of window sill.

This downward tilt toward outside prevents

water from entering inside of room (Fig. 7).

6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for second support

channel if required.

1. Keeping a firm grip on air conditioner, care-

fully center air conditioner in window open-

ing with the bottom bar sitting behind

window siN. Be sure cabinet maintains an

outward pitch. Air conditioner should slant

slightly downward on the outside as shown

by haft a bubble off on a carpenter's level.

This outward pitch prevents water from

entering the room (Fig,.8).

8. Close window until it touches behind air

conditioner top bar. Slide finer panels out-

ward until they touch window sash tracks.

(Do not release grip on air conditioner until

lower window sash is in final position)

instructions (Pgs. 2 & 3),

3, Close window until it touches behind air

conditioner top bar (Fig. 8),

4. Fasten lower window sashto window

frame (use finishing nails, wood screws,

or "L" brackets) (Fig. 9),

5. If filler is required on sides of air

conditioner, cut plastic foam sea[ to size

and fi[[ both sides,

6. Cut plastic foam sea[ to width of window

and install between upper and lower

window sash (Fig. 9),

7. Use sealant to fi[[ any minor openings,

One of the pictured control panels is similar to your panel.

Control Functions

1. Air Exchanger: Circulates fresh air and

helps remove stale air when in the open

position. Maximum air circulation and cool-

ing occur when in the closed position.

2, Master Control: Turns unit on and off.

heating (on some models) with continuous

6, To turn unit off, or in event of a power

interruption, turn Master Control to OFF.

Caution: If air conditioner is shut off, wait a minimum of three minutes before restarting.

The heat from this unit is designed only as a supplemental heat source in addition to regular heating systems.

Heating Operation

Heating Models Only

1. Turn Thermostat Control to position "I".

2, Turn Master Control to HIGH HEAT.

3, If room becomes too warm for comfort, turn

Thermostat Control clockwise until heating

elements turn off (air circulating fan will

remain in operation). The temperature will

be automatically maintained. Further adjust-

ment of Thermostat control may be needed

to reach desired comfort level.

4, When the desired comfort level is reached,

Master Control may be turned to LOW HEAT.

5, To turn unit off, or in event of power inter-

ruption, turn Master Control to OFF.

Air Circulation

Without Cooling or Heating

(For models with air exchanger)

To circulate and filter air:

1, Close Air Exchanger.

2, Turn Master Control to HIGH FAN.

Exhaust Operation

Without Cooling or Heating

Directing Airflow

(Unit with fixedlouvers)

Unit is engineered with two fixed bank Iouvered

inserts to direct discharge airflow. To adjust

direction of airflow either right or left, proceed

as follows:

1. Remove front panel.

2. Position Iouvered inserts to give desired

airflow direction.

3. Replace front panel.

(Unit with adjustable louvers)

Unit is engineered with adjustable louvers to

direct discharge airflow. Louvers are manually

adjusted by moving levers in direction of

desired airflow.

Decorative Front Removal

1. Turn the unit off and remove the plug from

the outlet.

2. Remove the screw from the control panel

area (Figs. 10 & 11).

3. Place the tip of a thin blade screwdriver

between the metal cabinet and the plastic

tab on the left side center of the decorative

front.

4. Gently twist with the screwdriver and unlock

the plastic tab by pulling the decorative front

slightly forward.

5. Swing the left side of the decorative front

away from the cabinet and unhook the

plastic tab on the right.

6. To replace the decorative front, hook the

plastic tab on the right side then swing the

left side into position. Gently press into

position.

7. Reattach the screw in the control panel area.

Make sure the decorative front is secure

before reconnecting the plug and operating

the unit.

Cleaning Air Filter

On some models...

EVERYTWO WEEKS:Clean the filter.

1. Turn the unit OFF and remove the plug from

the outlet.

2. Remove the screw from the control panel

area.

3. Place the tip of a thin blade screwdriver

between the metal cabinet and the plastic

projection on the left side center of the

decorative front.

4, Gently twist with the screwdriver and unlock

the plastic projection by pulling the decora-

tive front slightly forward.

5, Swing the left side of the decorative front

away from the cabinet and unhook the

plastic projection on the right.

6, Remove air filter from tabs.

1, Carefully wash air filter with a mild detergent

and warm water. Rinse with clear water,

squeeze dry and replace.

8, To replace the decorative front, hook the

plastic projection on the right side then

swing the left side into position. Gently press

into position.

9, Reattach the screw in the control panel area.

Make sure the decorative front is secure

before reconnecting the plug and operating

the unit.

On other models with slide-outfilters...

EVERYTWO WEEKS:Clean the filter.

"1, Turn Master Control to OFF.

2, Remove the air filter by grasping the top

corners and pulling it up and out of the unit.

3, Wash in hot soapy water, rinse and shake

dry.

4. Replace the filter, with the front of the filter

toward you.

5. To dry the filter thoroughly, run your unit for

a few minutes. Remember, only a clean filter

works properly and delivers top efficiency at

every setting.

Note: Failure to keep air filter clean will result in poor air circulation. DO NOT operate without filter. This can

render the unit inoperative.

Proper use and care of your air conditioner will help ensure longer life of the unit. It is recommended to annually

inspect and clean the coils and condensate water passages. Expense of annual inspection is the consumers'

responsibilities.

Service Instructions

Tosavetime and expense,check the following before

Insufficient Cooling

• Turn Master Control to OFF.

• Shut all windows and doors in room.

• Remove any obstructions from inside

and outside cabinet louvers.

• Close Air Exchanger (available on

most units).

• Inspect filter and dean if dirty.

• Turn Thermostat and Master Controls

to coolest settings.

Under certain conditions the cooling coils directly

behind the filter, may ice up and block the airflow.

This is a common occurrence in air conditioners

caused when the outside temperature drops below

70°F (21 °C) while the humidity remains high.

If this happens, simply turn the unit off and allow

the ice to melt, then resume normal operation.

Insufficient Heating-

Heating Models Only

• Turn Master Control to OFF.

• Shut all windows and doors in room.

• Remove any obstructions from inside

and outside cabinet louvers.

• Turn Thermostat and Master Controls

to warmest settings.

Unit Fails to Start

• Turn Master Control to OFF.

• Replug line cord plug into outlet to be sure

electrical contact is being made. (If firm

contact is not being made, outlet may have

to be replaced).

• Turn Master Control to HIGH FAN. If air

circulating fan does not operate, check

house circuit breaker (or fuses).

For Models Installed in

North America - If Service

or Parts are Required

that service or parts are still required, see your

room air conditioner warranty "How to Obtain

Warranty Service or Parts".

For Models Installed

Outside North America

For room air conditioners purchased for use out-

side North America, the manufacturer does not

extend any warranty either expressed or implied.

Consult your local dealer for any warranty terms

extended by the importer in your country.

During the first year after the date of original pur-

chase, Fedders North America will, through its

authorized servicers and free of charge to the

owner or any subsequent user, repair or replace

any parts which are defective in material or work-

manship due to normal use. Ready access to the

air conditioner is the responsibility of the owner.

In addition to the full (one year) [)arts an(] labor

warranty described above, Fedders North America

will, through its authorized servicers or parts dis-

tributors, exchange sealed system parts (consisting

of compressor, evaporator, condenser, and inter-

connecting tubing) during the second year through

fifth year, and the fan motor during the second

year, both from the original date of purchase,

providing the parts are defective in material or

workmanship. Transportation, handling, or labor

costs to diagnose, repair or replace such defective

parts are not covered by this limited parts

warranty and are the owner's responsibility.

Note: In the event of any required pm!s replacement within the

period of this warranty, Fedders North America replacement

par_s shall be u_ed and will be warranted only for the period

remaining on the original wam_nty.

Exceptions

The above warranty does not cover failure to

function caused by damage to the unit while in

your possession (other than damage caused by

defect or malfunction), or by its improper installa-

tion, or by unreasonable use of the unit, including

without limitation, failure to provide reasonable

and necessary maintenance or to follow the

written Installation and Operating Instructions.

If the unit is put to commercial, business, rental,

or other use or application other than for con-

sumer use, we make no warranties, express or

implied, including but not limited to, any implied

warranty of merchantability or fitness for particular

use or purpose.

THE REMEDIES PROVIDED FOR IN THE ABOVE

EXPRESS WARRANTY ARE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE

REMEDIES THEREFOR, NO OTHER EXPRESS WAR-

RANTIES ARE MADE. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES,

INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED

WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR

A PARTICULAR USE OR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN

DURATION TO ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF

ORIGINAL PURCHASE. IN NO EVENT SHALL FEDDERS

NORTH AMERICA BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDEN-

TAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, EVEN IF

ADVISED IN ADVANCE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH

DAMAGES. NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,

ARE MADE TO ANY BUYER UPON RESALE.

an implied warranty lasts or do not allow the

exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequen-

tial damages, so the above limitations or exclu-

sions may not apply to you. This warranty gives

you specific legal rights, and you may also have

other rights which may vary from state to state.

No warranties are made for units sold outside of

the above stated areas. Your distributor or final

seller may provide a warranty on units sold out-

side of these areas.

and Operating Instructions booklet. Then if you need service:

of purchase and nature of complaint. Service

will be provided during normal working

1. El equipo de aire acondicionado tiene en el

cord6n de corriente un enchufe a tierra de

tres puntas, el cual debe ser introducido en

un tomacorriente de tres puntas debidamente

conectado a tierra para protecci6n contra

posibles descargas el6ctricos. Para modelos

de hasta 7.5 amperios utilice un tipo de

tomacorriente con conexi6n a tierra, adecua-

do para el enchufe del equipo (Fig. 1).

2. Para modelos de m_is de 7.5 amperios, util-

ice un tomacorriente con conexi6n a tierra

para un solo enchufe (Fig. 2).

Requisitos de la ventana

1. El acondicionador de aire se prepara en la

flibrica para una instalaci6n est_ndar en ven-

tanas de guillotina (los acondicionadores de

aire no pueden instalarse en otros tipos de

ventanas sin modificarlas para hacer esto

hay que consultar a un instalador calificado).

2. Instale el aire acondicionado en una ventana

con espacio suficiente alrededor del gabi-

nete, esto para permitir que haya bastante

circulaci6n del aire a trav6s de la unidad.

Precauci6n: No bloquee la circulaci6n del aire de las

rejillas exteriores del gabinete.

3, Todas las piezas de apoyo deber_n asegu-

rarse a madera, material de albaffilerfa o

metal firme.

2. INSTALACION EN LA VENTANA

Tama_o de la ventana y de la unidad

1. Si el gabinete de su aire acondicionado mide 20" de ancho, entonces se ajustar_i a aberturas de 23

7/8" hasta 39" de ancho. La altura minima de la abertura es 12 3/4" desde ]a parte inferior del marco

hasta el alf6izar. Si la abertura de ]a ventana donde se va a instalar tiene un ancho mfnimo de 20

1/4" quite los paneles de relleno. La unidad de este tamafio requiere de un canal de soporte (Fig. 3).

2. Si el gabinete de su aire acondicionado mide 23 3/4" de ancho, entonces se ajustar_i a aberturas de

27 5/8" hasta 39" de ancho. La altura minima de la abertura es 16" desde la parte inferior del marco

hasta el alf6izar. Si la abertura de la ventana donde se va a instalar tiene un ancho minimo de 24"

quite los paneles de relleno. La unidad de este tamafio requiere de dos canales de soporte (Fig. 4).

3, Coloque el canal de soporte sobre la linea

que est,1 en el alf6izar de la ventana, colo-

cando uno de los extremos contra el mismo.

Marque el alf6izar de ]a ventana a trav6s del

orificio de posicionamiento Adel canal de

soporte (Fig. 6).

4, Aleje el canal de apoyo del quicio de la

ventana hasta que el hueco de montaje B

est6 sobre la marca de[ a[f6izar de [a ven-

tana. Fije el canal de apoyo insertando un

tornillo para madera de una pulgada de largo

a trav6s de[ hueco de montaje B del alf6izar

de la ventana (Fig. 6).

2. INSTALACION EN LA VENTANA

5, Adjuste el perno de nivelaci6n de modo que

la parte superior curva de los canales de

apoyo est_ a 1/4 de pulgada por debajo de la

parte superior de[ quicio de [a ventana. Esta

inc[inaci6n descendente hacia afuera evita

que entre agua en [a habitaci6n (Fig. 7).

6, Repita los pasos 2 a 5 para e[ segundo canal

de soporte, si es necesario.

Cerci6rese de que e[ gabinete mantenga una

inciinaci6n hacia afuera. E[ acondicionador

de aire deber_i inciinarse [igeramente hacia

e[ exterior usando [a indicaci6n de un nive[

de carpintero. Dicha inc[inaci6n evitar_i que

e[ agua entre en [a habitaci6n (Fig. 8).

8, Cerrar [a ventana hasta que toque [a barra

superior por detr,.is de[ acondicionador de

aire. Des[izar los paneles de rei[eno hacia

afuera hasta que toquen [as gufas de[ basti-

dor de la ventana. (No soltar el acondicion-

ador de aire hasta que e[ bastidor inferior de

[a ventana est6 en su posici6n final) (Fig. 9).

torni[[os de madera o soportes en "L") (Fig. 9).

5, Si se necesita e[ [[enado a ambos [ados de[

acondicionador de aire. cortar un se[[ador de

espuma de p[_stico de[ mismo tamaffo y

[[enar ambos [ados (Fig. 9).

6. Cortar un se[[ador de espuma de p[_stico de[

mismo ancho de [a ventana e insta[ario entre

e[ bastidor superior y e[ bastidor inferior de

[a ventana (Fig. 9).

7. Uti[ice material de se[[ar para re[[enar

pequeffas aberturas.

Consu[tar a[ distribuidor o importador autorizado

en caso de necesitar instrucciones para otro tipo

de instalaci6n.

Funciones de los controles

1. Intercambiador de aire "Air

Exchanger": Cuando se abre el acondi

cionador, circula air fresco y se elimina el air

viciado. A] cerrarse, circu]a e] m_ximo de

aire y se produce enfriamiento.

2. Control maestro "Master Control":

Enciende y apaga la unidad. Selecciona la

funci6n deseada de la unidad, enfriamiento o

calefacci6n (en algunos modelos) con circu-

laci6n de aire permanente o circuIaci6n de

aire sin enfriamiento ni caIefacci6n.

3. Termostato "Thermostat": Controla el

termostato de [a unidad que regula [a tem-

peratura ambienta] encendiendo o apagando

autom_ticamente el compresor o los elemen-

tos de calefacci6n (en algunos modelos).

Precauci6n: Si apaga el acondicionador de aire, espere por Io menos tres minutos antes de volver a encenderlo.

El calor de esta unidad debe usarse s61o como fuente adicional de calor adem_s tie los sistemas tie calefacci6n normales.

Operacibn de enfriamiento

1. Cierre el intercambiador de aire (viene en la

mayoria de las unidades).

"_. Ponga el control de termostato en el n(lmero

mSs alto.

3. Ponga el control maestro en frio m4ximo

"HI COOL".

4. Si la habitaci6n se enfrfa demasiado, haga

girar [a perilla del termostato de derecha a

izquierda hasta que se apague el compresor

(el ventilador de circulaci6n de aire seguir_

en funcionamiento).

5. Cuando se alcanza el nivel de confort

deseado podr_ ponerse el control maestro

en un valor m_s bajo.

6. Para apagar la unidad, o en el caso de una

interrupci6n de corriente, ponga el control

maestro en posici6n apagado "OFF".

Funcionamiento de la

calefacci6n Modelos con

calefacci6n solamente

1. Ponga el control de termostato en la posici6n

de mayor temperatura "1 ".

2. Ponga el control maestro en calor m_iximo

"HI HEAT".

3. Si la habitaci6n se ca[ienta demasiado, haga

girar el control de termostato de izquierda a

derecha hasta que se apaguen los elementos

de ca[efacci6n (el ventilador de circulaci6n

de aire se mantendr_i en funcionamiento). La

temperatura se mantendr_ autom_iticamente.

Podrfa ser necesario seguir ajustando el con-

trol de termostato para alcanzar el nivel de

confort deseado.

4, Cuando se alcanza el nivel de confort desea-

do puede ponerse el control maestro en

calor minimo "LO HEAT".

5, Para apagar la unidad, o en caso de interrup-

ci6n de la corriente, ponga el control mae-

stro en posici6n apagado.

Circulaci6n de aire sin

enfriamiento ni calefacci6n

(Para medeles ten intercambiader de abe)

Para que cimule y se filtre el aim viciado,

es necesaHo hacer Io siguiente:

1, Ponga el intercambiador de aire en la

posici6n de cerrado.

2, Ponga el control maestro en la posici6n

ventilador "HI FAN".

suelte la orejeta pl,.istica tirancto levemente

hacia adelante la parte clecorativa frontal.

Para volver a instalar la parte delantera deco-

rativa, enganche la orejeta pl4stica en el lado

derecho y luego gire el lado izquierdo hacia

su posici6n, presionando suavemente.

Vuelva a colocar los tornillos en el _irea del

panel de control. Aseg(irese de que el frente

decorativo est6 fijo antes de volver a conec-

tar el enchufe y operar la unidad.

4. PANEL FRONTAL

Orientaci6n de la

corriente de aire

(Unidad con rejillas fijas)

La unidad viene equipada con dos rejillas

directrices fijas en hilera para orientar la descarga

de la corriente de aire, Para ajustar la direcci6n de

la corriente de aire ya sea a la derecha o a la

izquierda, proceda de la siguiente manera:

1. Remueva el panel frontal,

2. Ubique las inserciones de la rejilla en el

sentido en que desea que circule el aire,

3. Vuelva a colocar el panel frontal,

(Unidad con rejilla directriz ajustable)

La unidad viene equipada con rejillas directrices

ajustab]es que permiten dirigir la descarga de la

corriente de aire. Las rejillas pueden ajustarse

manualmente moviendo las palancas en la direc-

ci6n deseada.

Limpieza del filtro de aire

En algunos modelos...

CADA DOS SEMANAS: Limpie el filtro.

1. Apague la unidad y desconecte el enchufe.

2. Quite el tornillos que se encuentra en e] _rea de] panel de control

3. Inserte ]a punta de un destornillador piano de hoja de]gada entre e] gabinete de metal y la saliente

de pl_stico en el lado izquierdo al centro de la cubierta decorativa.

4. Gire suavemente con e] destornillador y destrabe el saliente de pl_stico tirando de la cubierta deco-

rativa ligeramente hacia delante.

5. Abra e] lado izquierdo de la cubierta decorativa alej_ndolo del gabinete y destrabe el saliente de

pl_stico de la derecho.

6. Remueva e] filtro de aire de sus presillas.

7. Cuidadosamente, lave el filtro de aire con un detergente suave y agua tibia. Enjuagelo con agua

limpia, exprimalo hasta que est6 seco, y vuelvalo a colocar.

8. Para volver a poner la cubierta decorativa, enganche la sa]iente de pl_stico del lado derecho, luego

cierre e] ]ado izquierdo hasta que quede en posici6n. Oprima suavemente en posici6n.

9. Vue]va a colocar los tornillos en e] _rea de] panel de control. AsegClrese de que el frente decorativo

est6 fijo antes de vo]ver a conectar el enchufe y operar la unidad.

En otros modelos con filtros deslizantes...

CADA DOS SEMANAS: Limpie el filtro.

1. Ponga el control maestro en posici6n apagado.

2. Para retirar el filtro de aire, suj6telo de las esquinas superiores y remu6valo hacia arriba y hacia

afuera.

3. L_velo con agua ca]iente enjabonada, enju_guelo, sac_ldalo y s6quelo.

4. A] poner]o de nuevo en su ]ugar, asegtirese que el lado fronta] quede mirando a usted.

5. Para secar bien e] filtro, haga funcionar la unidad durante unos minutos. Recuerde, que s6lo un filtro

limpio har_ funcionar su unidad correctamente y dar_ siempre el servicio m_s eficiente.

Advertencia: El no mantener limpio el filtro podria

resultar en baja circulaci6n del aire. NUNCA haga

funcionar la unidad sin el filtro ya que puede quedar

inutilizable.

El uso y mantenimiento adecuados del acondicionador

tie air prolongar_ la vida 6til tie la unidad.

Se recomienda inspeccionar y limpiar anuahnente el

serpentfn y los pasajes para agua de condensaci6n.

El cliente deber_ cubrir los gastos tie inspecci6n anual.

Para ahorrar tiempo y gastos, revise Io siguiente antes

de Ilamar a la empresa de servicio autorizado.

Enfriamiento insuficiente

• Ponga el control maestro en posici6n

apagado.

• Cierre todas las ventanas y puertas de la

habitaci6n.

• Retire todas [as obstrucciones de las rejillas

interna y externa del gabinete de la unidad.

• Cierre e[ intercambiador de aire (viene en

la mayoMa de las unidades).

• Inspeccione e[ fiItro y Ifmpielo si est.1 sucio.

• Ponga el termostato y el control maestro en

los valores m_is frfos.

Bajo ciertas condiciones, los serpentines de enfri-

amiento ubicados directamente detr4s del filtro

podrfan congelarse y bloquear el pasaje del aire.

Esto ocurre por Io general en acondicionadores

de aire cuando la temperatura externa desciende

a menos de 21 °C (70°F) mientras que la humedad

se mantiene elevada. Si esto ocurre, simplemente

apague la unidad y deje que se derrita el hielo

antes de reanudar el funcionamiento normal.

Calentamiento

insuficiente - Modelos con

calefacci6n solamente

• Ponga el control maestro en posici6n

apagado.

• Cierre todas las ventanas y puertas de la

habitaci6n.

• Retire todas las obstrucciones de las rejillas

interna y externa del gabinete de la unidad.

• Ponga el control de termostato en una posi-

ci6n de mayor calor.

• Ponga el control maestro en calor m_iximo

"HI HEAT".

Si la unidad no se enciende

• Ponga el control maestro en posici6n apagado.

• Vuelva a enchufar el enchufe del cord6n en

el tomacorriente para cerciorarse de que se

est_ haciendo e[ contacto el6ctrico. (Si no se

verifica un contacto firme ser_i necesario

cambiar el tomacorriente).

• Ponga el control maestro en ventilador alto.

Si el ventilador de circulaci6n de aire no fun-

ciona, verifique los disyuntores o fusibies de

la residencia.

ninguna garantia implicita o explicita. Consulte

dos y sin costo para el primer comprador ni para

los propietarios posteriores, toda pieza defectuosa

en material o confecci6n, a causa de uso normal.

La prontitud para [[evar el acondicionador de aire

a reparaci6n es responsabiIidad de[ propietario.

Garantfa limitada (cinco afros) del sistema

sellado y (dos afros) de piezas del motor del ventilador

Adem_is de la garantia completa (un afio) de

piezas y mano de obra, Fedders North America,

a trav6s de sus estaciones de servicio o dis-

tribuidores de piezas autorizados, sustituir_i las

piezas de los sistemas selIados (entre los que se

incluyen el compresor, evaporador, condensador y

las tuberias de interconexi6n), durante el segundo

y hasta el quinto afio, asi como del motor del ven-
