GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must

be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. This appliance must be grounded.

In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an

escape wire for the electric current.

WARNING - Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a quali-

ﬁ ed electrician or service agent if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt

exists as to whether the appliance is properly grounded.

If the outlet is a standard two-prong wall outlet, it is your personal responsibility and obligation to have it

replaced with a properly grounded three-prong wall outlet.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) whose physical, sensory

or mental capabilities may be different or reduced, or who lack experience or knowledge, unless

such persons receive supervision or training to operate the appliance by a person responsible for

their safety.

• Ensure that the unit is turned off and unplugged before any changes are made to the light system.

• Keep the door closed as much as possible to ensure proper temperature and moisture levels for

your plants.

• Always unplug the power cord and disconnect the timer when not in use.

• Only use genuine spare parts from Danby or those that have been CSA, UL or CE approved.

• The LED light panel is not water proof. Do not spray water on the surface, sides or back of the

light panel.

• Do not look directly at the LED light with the naked eye as this can cause retinal damage.

• Recommended operating temperature is between 20 ~ 30 °C (68 ~ 86 °F).

• Recommended operating humidity is below 80%.

• The LED panel cannot be exposed to corrosive materials.

• The LED panel is for indoor growing only and should not be used outdoors.

• Do not touch the surface of the light system while the power is connected as it can get hot.

• Do not use the LED panel during a thunderstorm to avoid a surge that could damage the light

system.

• Do not cover shelves with aluminum foil or any other material which may prevent air circulation.

LOCATION

Select a location with a strong level ﬂ oor that can support the weight of the unit and the plants grown

inside.

Allow 5 inches (12.7 cm) between the back of the appliance and the wall. Allow 1 inch (2.5 cm) of

space between the sides of the appliance and any adjacent walls.

Avoid direct sublight and heat. Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating of the appliance or the

growing cycle of your plants. Nearby heat sources can overheat the unit and cause high internal tem-

peratures that may harm your plants.

Operating Instructions

LEVELING INSTRUCTIONS

Beneath the appliance there are two leveling legs that are located on

either side of the vent. It is important that your unit is level. To level the

unit:

1. Move the appliance to its ﬁ nal location.

2. Have someone gently lean against the front of the unit to take some

weight off the leveling legs.

3. Turn the leveling legs clockwise to raise the unit or counter-clock-

wise to lower it. Continue in this manner until the unit is level.

Note: Two plastic trays are included with the unit. Place plant

pots on these trays to ensure that if water leaks from the plant

pots it will not leak from the unit and damage your ﬂ oors.

Operating Instructions

SHELVES

Two metal wire shelves are included with the unit that can be removed and adjusted to different levels

to accomodate different growing heights. Please use caution when removing a shelf as it may be un-

balanced, heavy or contain residual water. Do not remove shelving without ﬁ rst removing everything

on the shelf.

To remove shelves:

• Fully extend the shelf you wish to remove.

• Lift the front of the shelf up.

• Holding the shelf track, push the shelf in, then up to release from the

rear dampers.

SHELVES - DGA19

• Make sure the shelf is aligned with the lock block when taking the shelf out or

putting it back into the unit.

• To remove a rack from its locked position, tilt the rack as shown and pull out-

ward.

• To re-install, ensure the rack is resting securely on the support brackets and

push the rack inward until it locks into place.

Operating Instructions

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

There is a power bar mounted in the back of the unit, inside the compressor housing. The compressor

and coolant lines have been removed to make room for the power bar and electrical lines of the light

and fan. The light has a standard, three-prong power cord. The fan has a bulkier, square power cord.

Plug the fan into the power bar. The fan will run continuously to ensure your plants have an adequate

supply of fresh air.

Plug the timer into the power bar. See below for instructions on setting the timer.

Plug the light into the timer. The light will turn on and off based on the timer settings.

Note: Ensure the power bar is always plugged into a three-prong, grounded receptacle. Never at-

tempt to remove or disable the grounding prong on the plug of the power bar as this could result in

risk of ﬁ re or electric shock.

Timer function

The timer can be used to create a regular light and dark cycle for your plants just as they would re-

ceive outdoors. The timer will turn the light on and off as required based on the settings you choose.

Keep in mind that different plants will grow best under different light cycle conditions; some need

more light and some need less. We recommend checking the seed packet for information on the best

light cycle to choose for your plants.

The circular face of the timer can be turned clockwise to set the current time. The current time is indi-

cated by aligning the arrow on the timer face with the corresponding hour of the day.

Based on the type of plants you are growing, decide at which hours you would like the light to be on

and off. Around the outside of the timer face are buttons which each represent 15 minutes of time. To

set the time, press down each button during the time frame that you would like the light to remain on.

Ensure that you plug the timer into a three-prong grounded outlet and then plug the power cord of the

grower into the timer. Ensure that the switch on the top of the timer is set to “timer on”.

You can change the hours that the light is on or off at any time by pulling up or pushing down the but-

tons around the outside of the timer face.

Note: The timer is equipped with a 3 prong grounded plug. Never attempt to disable or remove the

third grounding prong on the timer as this could result in risk of ﬁ re or electric shock.

CLEANING

• Walls, ﬂ oor, inside window and shelves - Some water deposits and dust can be removed with a

dry paper towel, others may require a damp cloth.

• Outer Case - It is important to keep the area clean where the door seals against the cabinet.

Clean this area with a soapy cloth. Rinse with a damp cloth and let dry.

• Door - Wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Some paper towels may scratch the glass on

the door. Use only mild, non-abrasive detergents applied with a clean sponge or soft cloth. Rinse

well with damp cloth.

Note: Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or alcohol on the appliance. Ammonia or alcohol can

damage the appearance of the appliance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How often do I need to water?

• The best tip for watering is to use the trays provided. Place plant pots into the tray and water by

adding approximately an inch of water to the tray for the plants to soak up as needed. Try to keep

as least some water in the trays at all times. Check the seed packet or plant information tag for

guidance on how often to water your plants.

2. Why does the light look purple?

• The purple tint of the light is the result of a combination of colors derived from the sun’s spectrum.

Simple white grow lights do not provide plants with the full spectrum of light that the sun provides

so the result is less healthy plants and less hearty harvests. Our ultra-efﬁ cient and advanced LED

full spectrum lights cover more spectrum than any other grow lights. The combination of the reds

and blues among other colors create the purplish color.

3. There is no power to the unit.

• Ensure that there are no blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers in your home. Ensure that the

power plug is fully inserted into the outlet. Unplug the unit, wait 2 minutes and then plug it back in.

Operating Instructions

Growing tips

There are two switches on the LED light system which will provide different types of light depending

on what stage of growth your plants are in.

The Growth setting is best used when your plants are seedlings or in the early phases of growth.

When your plants are big enough to ﬂ ower and bloom, turn on both the Growth and Bloom buttons

to provide the full spectrum of light. The length of the growth and blooming growing cycles will vary

depending on what type of plants you are growing.

In general for most herbs and vegetables, we recommend the following light cycles:

Growth cycle: 18 hours on / 6 hours off or 20 hours on / 4 hours off for approximately 20 to 30 days.

Bloom cycle: 12 hours on / 12 hours off for approximately 20 - 30 days.

Typically most herbs and vegetables have a maturity date between 45 - 90 days. How long your

plants take to mature will vary based on what type of plants you are growing.

Note: Danby Products Ltd will accept no liability for any lost plants or weak harvests based on inap-

propriate use of the timer and light system.

LIMITED IN-HOME APPLIANCE WARRANTY

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating

conditions intended by the manufacturer.

This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter

“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY

Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.

First Year

During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s

option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

MISE À LA TERRE

Cet appareil doit être mis à la terre. Dans l’éventualité d’un court-circuit, la mise à la terre procure un chemin

EXIGENCES DE SÉCURITÉ

• Cet appareil n’est pas destiné à être utilisé par des personnes (y compris des enfants) dont les capacités

• Assurez-vous que l’appareil est éteint et débranché avant d’apporter des modiﬁ cations au système

• Le panneau de lumière LED n’est pas étanche à l’eau. Ne vaporisez pas d’eau sur la surface, les côtés ou

l’arrière du panneau d’éclairage.

• Ne regardez pas directement la lumière LED à l’œil nu car cela peut causer des dommages à la rétine.

• La température de fonctionnement recommandée est entre 20 ~ 30 ° C (68 ~ 86 ° F).

• L’humidité de fonctionnement recommandée est inférieure à 80%.

• Le panneau LED ne peut pas être exposé à des matières corrosives.

• Le panneau de LED est pour la croissance intérieure seulement et ne devrait pas être employé dehors.

• Ne touchez pas la surface du système d’éclairage lorsque l’alimentation est connectée car elle peut deve-

nir chaude.

EMPLACEMENT

Select a location with a strong level ﬂ oor that can support the weight of the unit and the plants grown

inside.

Allow 5 inches (12.7 cm) between the back of the appliance and the wall. Allow 1 inch (2.5 cm) of

space between the sides of the appliance and any adjacent walls.

Avoid direct sublight and heat. Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating of the appliance or the

growing cycle of your plants. Nearby heat sources can overheat the unit and cause high internal tem-

peratures that may harm your plants.

INSTRUCTIONS DE NIVEAU

Sous l’appareil il ya deux jambes de nivellement qui sont situé de chaque

côté de l’évent. Il est important que votre appareil soit de niveau. Pour niv-

eler l’unité:

1. Déplacez l’appareil à son emplacement ﬁ nal.

2. Demandez à quelqu’un de s’appuyer légèrement contre l’avant du l’ap-

pareil pour prendre un peu de poids sur les jambes de nivellement.

3. Tournez les pieds de nivellement dans le sens des aiguilles d’une mon-

tre pour soulever l’appareil ou dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une

montre pour l’abaisser. Continuez de cette manière jusqu’à ce que l’ap-

pareil soit à niveau.

que si les fuites d’eau des pots de la plante il ne fuira pas de

l’unité et endommager vos planchers.

Consignes d’utilisation

ÉTAGÈRES

Deux étagères en ﬁ l métallique sont inclus avec l’unité qui peut être retiré et ajusté à différents

niveaux pour s’adapter à différentes hauteurs de croissance. Veuillez faire preuve de prudence lor-

sque vous retirez une étagère car elle peut être déséquilibrée, lourde ou contenir de l’eau résiduelle.

Ne retirez pas les étagères sans enlever tout sur l’étagère.

ÉTAGÈRES - DGA24

Pour retirer les étagères:

• Étirez complètement l’étagère que vous souhaitez retirer.

• Soulevez l’avant de l’étagère.

• Tenir la traverse de l’étagère, poussez l’étagère dans, puis vers le

haut pour libérer des amortisseurs arrière.

ÉTAGÈRES - DGA19

• Assurez-vous que l’étagère est alignée avec le bloc de verrouillage lorsque

vous sortez l’étagère ou que vous le remettez dans l’unité.

• Pour retirer un rack de sa position verrouillée, inclinez la crémaillère comme

indiqué et tirez vers l’extérieur.

• Pour le réinstaller, assurez-vous que le rack repose solidement sur les sup-

ports et poussez la grille vers l’intérieur jusqu’à ce qu’elle s’enclenche.

CONSIGNES D’UTILISATION

Il ya une barre de puissance montée à l’arrière de l’unité, à l’intérieur du boîtier du compresseur. Les

lignes du compresseur et du liquide de refroidissement ont été retirées pour laisser place à la barre

d’alimentation et aux lignes électriques de la lumière et du ventilateur. Le luminaire est équipé d’un

cordon d’alimentation standard à trois broches. Le ventilateur possède un cordon d’alimentation plus

encombrant et carré.

Branchez le ventilateur dans la barre d’alimentation. Le ventilateur fonctionnera continuellement pour

s’assurer que vos plantes disposent d’une quantité sufﬁ sante d’air frais.

Branchez la minuterie dans la barre d’alimentation. Reportez-vous aux instructions ci-dessous pour

régler le minuteur.

Branchez la lampe dans la minuterie. Le voyant s’allume et s’éteint en fonction des réglages de la

minuterie.

Remarque: Assurez-vous que la barre d’alimentation est toujours branchée dans une prise triphasée

mise à la terre. N’essayez jamais de retirer ou de désactiver la broche de mise à la terre de la ﬁ che

de la barre d’alimentation.

Fonction minuterie

Le minuteur peut être utilisé pour créer un cycle régulier de lumière et de noir pour vos plantes tout

comme ils recevraient en plein air. La minuterie allume et éteint la lumière et / ou le ventilateur sel-

on les réglages que vous choisissez. Gardez à l’esprit que les différentes plantes se développeront

mieux dans différentes conditions de cycle de lumière; Certains ont besoin de plus de lumière et cer-

tains ont besoin de moins. Nous recommandons de vériﬁ er le paquet de semences pour obtenir des

informations sur le meilleur cycle de lumière à choisir pour vos plantes.

La face circulaire de la minuterie peut être tournée dans le sens horaire pour régler l’heure actuelle.

L’heure actuelle est indiquée en alignant la ﬂ èche sur la face de la minuterie avec l’heure correspon-

dante de la journée.

En fonction du type de plantes que vous cultivez, décidez à quelles heures vous souhaitez que

la lumière soit sur et hors tension. Autour de l’extérieur du visage minuterie sont des boutons qui

représentent chacun 15 minutes de temps. Pour régler l’heure, appuyez sur chaque bouton pendant

la durée que vous souhaitez que la lumière reste allumée.

Assurez-vous que vous branchez la minuterie dans une prise à trois broches mise à la terre, puis

branchez le cordon d’alimentation du producteur dans la minuterie. Assurez-vous que le commutateur

sur le haut de la minuterie est réglé sur “minuterie activée”.

Vous pouvez modiﬁ er les heures auxquelles la lumière est allumée ou éteinte à tout moment en tirant

vers le haut ou en poussant vers le bas les boutons autour de l’extérieur de la face de la minuterie.

Remarque: La minuterie est équipée d’une ﬁ che à trois broches mise à la terre. N’essayez jamais de

désactiver ou de retirer la troisième broche de mise à la terre car cela pourrait entraîner un incendie

ou un choc électrique.

NETTOYAGE

• Parois, plancher, intérieur de la visière et tablettes - Certaines éclaboussures d’eau et pous-

sières peuvent être essuyées avec des essuie-tout. D’autres taches peuvent nécessiter un linge

humide.

• Extérieur de l’armoire - Il est important de garder la région de scellement de la porte sur l’ar-

moire propre. Nettoyez avec un tissu savonneux, rincez le région et puis séchez.

• Surface du porte - N’utilisez que des détergents doux, non abrasifs, appliqués avec une éponge

propre ou un chiffon doux. Rincez abondamment.

Remarque : N’utilisez pas de produits nettoyants comprenant de l’ammoniaque ou de l’alcool sur

l’appareil. L’ammoniaque ou l’alcool peuvent altérer le ﬁ ni de l’appareil.

QUESTIONS FRÉQUEMMENT POSÉES

1. Combien de fois dois-je arroser?

• Le meilleur conseil pour l’arrosage est d’utiliser les plateaux fournis. Placer les pots de plantes

dans le plateau et l’eau en ajoutant environ un pouce d’eau au plateau pour les plantes de s’im-

prégner au besoin. Essayez de garder au moins un peu d’eau dans les plateaux en tout temps.

Vériﬁ ez le paquet de graines ou l’étiquette d’information de plante pour des conseils sur la

fréquence à l’eau de vos plantes.

2. Pourquoi la lumière paraît-elle violacée?

• La teinte pourpre de la lumière est le résultat d’une combinaison de couleurs dérivées du spectre

du soleil. Les lumières simplement blancs ne fournissent pas les plantes avec le spectre complet

de la lumière que le soleil fournit. Donc, le résultat est moins de plantes saines et les récoltes

moins copieux. Nos lumières ultra-efﬁ caces et avancés à spectre complet couvrent plus de spec-

tre que les autres. La combinaison des rouges et bleus entre autres couleurs créent la couleur

violacée.

3. Il n’y a pas de courant sur l’appareil.

• Assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de fusibles grillés ou défectueux dans votre maison. Assurez-vous

que la ﬁ che d’alimentation est complètement insérée dans la prise. Débranchez l’appareil, atten-

dez 2 minutes, puis rebranchez-le.

Conseils de croissance

Il ya deux commutateurs sur le système de lumière LED qui fournira différents types de lumière en

fonction de ce stade de croissance de vos plantes sont en.

Le paramètre de croissance est mieux utilisé lorsque vos plantes sont des semis ou dans les

premières phases de la croissance. Lorsque vos plantes sont assez grandes pour ﬂ eurir et ﬂ eurir, al-

lumez les boutons de croissance et Bloom pour fournir le spectre complet de la lumière. La durée des

cycles de croissance et de ﬂ oraison varie selon le type de plantes que vous cultivez.

En général, pour la plupart des herbes et des légumes, nous recommandons les cycles de lumière

suivants:

Cycle de croissance: 18 heures sur / 6 heures de repos ou 20 heures sur / 4 heures de repos pour

environ 20 à 30 jours.

Bloom cycle: 12 heures sur / 12 heures de repos pour environ 20 - 30 jours.

Typiquement, la plupart des herbes et des légumes ont une date d’échéance entre 45 et 90 jours.

Combien de temps vos plantes prennent à maturité variera en fonction du type de plantes que vous

cultivez.

LIMITED IN-HOME APPLIANCE WARRANTY

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating

conditions intended by the manufacturer.

This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter

“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY

Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.

First Year

During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s

option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

To obtain

Danby reserves the right to limit the boundaries of “In Home Service” to the proximity of an Authorized Service Depot. Any app liance

requiring service outside the limited boundaries of “In Home Service” , it will be the consumer’s responsibility to transport the appliance (at

their own expense) to the original retailer (point of purchase) or a service depot for repair. See “Boundaries of In Home Serv ice” below.

Contact your dealer from whom your unit was purchased, or contact your nearest authorized Danby service depot, where service

must be performed by a qualied service technician.

If service is performed on the units by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial appli cation, all

obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.

responsibility of the purchaser.

Nothing within this warranty shall imply that Danby will be responsible or liable for any spoilage or damage to food or other c ontents of this appliance, whether due

to any defect of the appliance, or its use, whether proper or improper.

EXCLUSIONS

Save as herein provided, Danby, there are no other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, express or implied, m ade or intended by Danby or its

authorized distributors and all other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, including any warranties, conditio ns, representations or guarantees

under any Sale of Goods Act or like legislation or statue is hereby expressly excluded. Save as herein provided, Danby shall no t be responsible for any damages

to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction o f the unit and by the purchase of

the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or propert y caused by the unit.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following:

1) Power failure.

2) Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.

3) Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.

4) Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating con ditions

(extremely high or low room temperature).

5) Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).

6) Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, oods etc.

7) Service calls resulting in customer education.

8) Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for out door application).

Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; so, please retain bills of sale. In the event warranty service is required, present this document to our

AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEPOT.

Warranty Service

In-home

Si l'appareil est installé à plus de 100 kilomètres (62 milles) du centre de service le plus proche, il doit

être livré à l'atelier de réparation autorisé par Danby le plus proche, car l'entretien doit uniquement être

réalisé par un technicien qualifié et certifié pour effectuer un entretien couvert par la garantie de Danby.

Les frais de transport entre votre domicile et le lieu de l'entretien ne sont pas couverts par la présente

garantie et doivent être acquittés par l'acheteur.
