Omcan Manufacturing and Distributing Company Inc., Food Machinery of America, Inc. dba Omcan

and Omcan Inc. are not responsible for any harm or injury caused due to any person’s improper or

negligent use of this equipment. The product shall only be operated by someone over the age of 18, of

sound mind, and not under the inuence of any drugs or alcohol, who has been trained in the correct

operation of this machine, and is wearing authorized, proper safety clothing. Any modication to the

machine voids any warranty, and may cause harm to individuals using the machine or in the vicinity of

the machine while in operation.

CHECK PACKAGE UPON ARRIVAL

Upon receipt of an Omcan shipment please inspect for external damage. If no damage is evident on the

external packaging, open carton to ensure all ordered items are within the box, and there is no concealed

damage to the machine. If the package has suffered rough handling, bumps or damage (visible or concealed),

please note it on the bill of lading before accepting the delivery and contact Omcan within 24 hours, so we may

initiate a claim with the carrier. A detailed report on the extent of the damage caused to the machine must be

lled out within three days, from the delivery date shown in the shipping documents. Omcan has no recourse

for damaged products that were shipped collect or third party.

Before operating any equipment, always read and familiarize yourself with all operation and safety

instructions.

Omcan would like to thank you for purchasing this machine. It’s of the utmost importance to save

these instructions for future reference. Also save the original box and packaging for shipping the

equipment if servicing or returning of the machine is required.

Safety and Warranty

General Information

• This machine should only be installed and operated by trained personnel. Do not change the electrical

wiring of the machine.

• Read all instructions carefully and do not operate the machine until the operator has fully read this manual.

• Do not use the machine without the personal safety equipment.

• Keep hands, long hair, foreign objects, clothes and jewelry away from any moving parts.

• Do not leave the machine unattended while the unit is on or in operation.

• Always turn off and unplug the unit before performing any maintenance.

caja y no encuentre daños ocultos en la máquina. Si el paquete ha sufrido un manejo de poco cuidado, golpes

o daños (visible o oculto) por favor anote en la factura antes de aceptar la entrega y contacte Omcan dentro

de las 24 horas, de modo que podamos iniciar una reclamación con la compañia. Un informe detallado sobre

los daños causados a la máquina debe ser llenado en el plazo de tres días, desde la fecha de entrega que se

muestra en los documentos de envío. Omcan no tiene ningun recurso por productos dañados que se enviaron

a recoger por terceros.

1 YEAR PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY

Within the warranty period, contact Omcan Inc. at 1-800-465-0234 to schedule an Omcan authorized

service technician to repair the equipment locally.

Unauthorized maintenance will void the warranty. Warranty covers electrical and part failures, not

improper use.

WARNING:

The packaging components (cardboard, polyethylene, and others) are classied as normal solid urban waste

and can therefore be disposed of without difculty.

In any case, for suitable recycling, we suggest disposing of the products separately (differentiated

waste) according to the current norms.

Maintenance

Never try to seal without bags. Don’t set the sealing time to the high grade without trial of the sealing bag.

Otherwise, the polymer cloth will be burned. If some plastics adheres to the polymer cloth, never try to scrape

it off. Slightly reduce the sealing time and seal the bag again. Release the pedal after the yellow lamp is off. It

is very important to remove the bag from one side to the other. The remains of the plastics will be cleared from

the polymer cloth with the bag.

REPLACEMENT OF THE HEATER

Turn off sealer and unplug from the wall. Loosen the screws of the plate pressing the polymer cloth, roll back

the cloth to expose the heater. Loosen the Bakelite boxes at both sides of the heater and take out the screws

on the copper block. The heater can now be removed. Replace it with a new one. The heater should always

be in tension with the function of the spring. The copper block should be replaced if it is oxidized, to ensure

it has a good connection with the heater. Pay close attention when xing the heater so that the polymer cloth

below is at (no wrinkles are allowed). The heater must have a excellent isolation. Otherwise the heater will be

ADJUSTMENT AND USAGE OF IMPULSE SEALER

Connect to 110V power source according to the indication label on the machine. Switch on the power, the red

light will turn on. Adjust the sealing time according to the materials and the thickness of the bags to be sealed.

The sealing time should be adjusted to around grade 1 before sealing. Put the opening of the bag between

the heat sealers, step down on the pedal and the yellow lamp lights. Take out the sealed bag after the yellow

lamp is off. If the seal is not tight enough, lengthen the sealing time. Try sealing the bag several times until it is

sealed well with clearness and no wrinkles. Seal the bag at this measured time and temperature. The cooling

time should not be too short, otherwise wrinkles will be the result. The longer the sealing time, the longer the

cooling time.

Troubleshooting

Problem Causes and Solution

The seal is not good. Lengthen the sealing time if it is not tight enough. Shorten the sealing

time if the seal is melted or if the melted seal is creased by not being

pressed tightly.

The seal is wrinkled. 1. The problem may be overheating. In this case, shorten the

sealing time.

2. The problem may be insufcient time for cooling. In this case,

lengthen the cooling time.

The temperature rises when working

for some time.

It is normal that the temperature of the machine rises because the

unit absorbs heat during operation. Shorten the sealing time slightly

to balance the heat.

The power lamp does not light and

the sealer does not work.

Check if the power switch is on and if the fuse is damaged.

REPLACEMENT OF THE POLYMER CLOTH

Turn off sealer and unplug from the wall. Remove the screws and the plates above the polymer cloth, loosen

the shaft of the polymer cloth roll, pull out the cloth and cut out the burned part. Reassemble the plates and

screws, tighten the roll shaft. No wrinkles are allowed in the polymer cloth, otherwise the seal quality will be

affected.

REPLACEMENT OF THE MICRO-SWITCH

Turn off sealer and unplug from the wall. There is one micro-switch at the side of the machine head. It must be

replaced when it is damaged. The adjustment of the pressing pole for micro-switch are as follows:

• Put 1mm thick carton between the upper and lower and lower pressing arms, check if the micro-switch is

pressed and if there is a “click” from the switch.

• If it is not pressed, adjust down the pressing pole or tighten the nut until the switch is pressed 1-2mm down

when it works.

• Always keep the sealing surface clean. Otherwise, the remains in the sealing surface will shorten the life of

the heater and the life of the polymer cloth.

• When working, never try to clean the sealing surface with wet cloth.

• After long time usage, the rubber in the upper pressing arm must be checked if it is still at and straight.

Otherwise, the seal quality will be affected.

• Often add lubricating oil into the moving parts.

• All parts in the machine should not be disassembled regularly.

Troubleshooting

The power lamp lights but the sealing

lamp is off and the sealer does not

work.

Step down on the pedal to check if the micro-switch works. Adjust if

necessary (see “REPLACEMENT OF MICRO-SWITCH).

The sealer is always electried when

the power is switched on.

Switch the power off at once. Check the status of the micro-switch.

Adjust if necessary (see “REPLACEMENT OF MICRO-SWITCH).
