ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
DOUBLE INSULATED
TO AVOID ELECTRICAL HAZARDS, FIRE HAZARDS, OR DAMAGE TO THE TOOL, USE PROPER
CIRCUIT PROTECTION. YOUR GRASS TRIMMER IS WIRED AT THE FACTROY FOR 120 V
OPERATION. CONNECT TO A 120 V, 15 A CIRCUIT, AND USE A 15 A TIME-DELAYED FUSE OR
CIRCUIT BIREAKER. TO AVOID SHOCK OR FIRE, IF THE EXTENSION CORD IS WORN, CUT OR
DAMAGED IN ANY WAY, REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY.
This grass trimmer has a plug that looks like the one shown in Fig. 1
The grass trimmer is double insulated to provide a double thickness of insulation between you and
the tool’s electrical system. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal motor
components with protective insulation.
USE ONLY IDENTIFICAL REPLACEMENT PARTS WHEN SERVICING THE GRASS TRIMMER,
TO AVOID INJURY.
WARNING
DOUBLE INSULATION DOES NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF NORMAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WHEN OPERATING THIS GRASS TRIMMER
WARNING
TO AVOID ELECTROCUTION:
1. Use only identical replacement parts when servicing a tool with double insulation.
Servicing should be performed by a qualified technician.
2. Do not use in wet or damp areas or expose to rain.

CAUTION
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOUR OUTLET IS PROPERLY GROUNDED. IF UNCERTAIN,
HAVE IT CHECKED BY A CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
WARNING
THIS GRASS TRIMMER IS FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY. DO NOT EXPOSE TO RAIN OR USE IN
DAMP LOCATIONS.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS
USE THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product
will draw. An undersized cord will cause overheating. The table below shows the correct size to use
depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge.
The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
IN THE EVENT OF A MALFUNCTION OR BREAKDOWN, grounding provides the path of least
resistance for electric current, and reduces the risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped with
a POLARIZED plug. The plug MUST be plugged into a matching grounded extension cord in
accordance with All local codes and ordinances.
DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG PROVIDED. If it will not fit the properly grounded extension cord,
have the proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

goggles when working with the trimmer.
NOTE:
Once the lower and upper sections of the trimmer has been assembled, they can not
be seperated.

OPERATION
Cutting device - advancing the trimmer line (Figs. 6)
In order to advance a length of trimmer line, firmly tap the bump cap on the lawn while the trimmer
is running. This will automatically advance a new length of trimmer line and trim the line to the
correct length. A firm but gentle motion should be used when tapping the bump cap on the lawn.
This advancing process may be repeated as often as necessary. Never try to advance the line on
a hard surface such as a sidewalk or driveway. If unit fails to advance, unplug power from trimmer
and clean the bump cap both inside and out.
Flower Guard
Pull the flower guard out of the trimmer head (Fig.7). If the flower guard is no longer required, it can be
pushed in again (park position).
Using the flower guard
The grass trimmer is equipped with a flower guard that can be lowered to push flowers away from
the cutting line so they are protected (Fig.8). The flower guard is an indicator of the maximum
cutting range of the line.

Trimming
1. Hold the tool as shown. what figure are you referencing.(Fig.9)
2. Gently swing the trimmer from side to side .(Fig. 10)
3. When cutting long grass, work in stages from the top. Take small cuts. Keep the tool away from
hard objects and delicate plants.
4. If the tool starts running slowly, reduce the load.
• Do not cut moist or wet grass.
• Before starting the trimmer check that the cutting head will not come into contact with stones,
rubble or other foreign bodies.
• Switch on the trimmer before you approach the grass that is to be cut.
• Always trail the extension cord behind you. Do not pass the operating trimmer over the extension
cord as the cord could be damaged.
• Do not overload the trimmer during operation.
• Avoid contact with obstacles (stones, walls, fences, etc.) as this will rapidly wear out the trimmer line.
• Do not hit the cutting head on the ground during operation.
• Ensure that the cutting head has stopped before you deposit the equipment on the ground. Cut
the grass by swaying the trimmer sideways to the right and left. Cut slowly, keeping the grass
trimmer inclined forward slightly when cutting. Cut tall grass by a series of levels from top to bottom.
OPERATION
Fig. 9 Fig. 10
WARNING
Danger of injury!
WARNING Never attempt to lock the trigger lever in the on position.
14
• Carefully clean the trimmer and its accessories after each use (see “Cleaning and maintenance”), thereby
avoiding mold formation.
• Store the trimmer in a dry place well out of reach of children.
• Do not expose the trimmer for extended periods to direct sunlight.
• Do not wrap plastic bags around the trimmer as this could result in the formation of moisture and mould.
• Do not stand the trimmer on its protective guard. Suspend it by its upper handle in such a manner that the
protective guard does not come into contact with other objects. This is because the protective guard could
become deformed, thereby changing its dimensions and its safety properties.
Any work that is not described in these Instructions must be carried out by a servicing
agency authorized by us. Only use original parts and be very careful with the line cutter
during installation work. Danger of injury!
Disconnect the plug from the power source after every use and check the grass trimmer for damaged parts.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always disconnect the plug from the power source before working on the trimmer.

OPERATION
Cleaning
Do not jet water onto the trimmer and do not clean it under flowing water. This would
result in the danger of an electric shock and the trimmer could be damaged. Always
keep the trimmer clean. Do no use cleaning agents and solvents.
• After the work has been completed remove all grass and soil from the cutting device and the protective
guard.
• Ensure that the ventilation slots are always clean and free of grass.
• Clean the trimmer with a soft brush or a cloth.
