Important Safety Instructions

• Do not store or use gasoline or other

flammable vapors and liquids in the

vicinity of this or any other appliance.

Read all instructions before using the appliance.

To avoid the possibility of fire or explosion:

a. Do not dry items that have been previously cleaned

in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline,

dry-cleaning solvents, other flammable or explosive

substances as they give off vapors that could ignite or

explode. Any material on which you have used a

cleaning solvent, or which is saturated with flamma-

ble liquids or solids, should not be placed in the dryer,

until all traces of these flammable liquids or solids

and their fumes have been removed. There are many

highly flammable items used in homes, such as: ace-

tone, denatured alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, some liq-

uid household cleaners, some spot removers, turpen-

tine, waxes and wax removers.

b. Items containing foam rubber (may be labeled latex

foam) or similarly textured rubber-like materials must

not be dried on a heat setting. Foam rubber materials

when heated, can under certain circumstances pro-

duce fire by spontaneous combustion.

Do not allow children to play on or in the appliance.

Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is

used near children.

4. Before the appliance is removed from service or discard-

ed remove the door to the drying compartment.

5. Do not reach into the appliance if the drum is moving.

6. Do not install or store this appliance where it will be

exposed to the weather.

7. Do not tamper with controls.

8. Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance or

attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended

in published user-repair instructions that you under-

stand and have the skills to carry out.

9. Do not use fabric softeners or products to eliminate stat-

ic unless recommended for dryer use by the manufactur-

er of the fabric softener or product.

Clean the lint screen before or after each load.

Keep the area around the exhaust opening and sur-

rounding areas free from lint accumulation, dust and

dirt.

12. The interior of the dryer and exhaust duct should be

cleaned periodically by qualified service personnel.

13. This appliance must be properly grounded. Never plug

the appliance cord into a receptacle which is not ground-

ed adequately and in accordance with local and national

codes. See installation instructions for grounding this

appliance.

14. Do not sit on top of the clothes dryer.

Do not place into your dryer items that have been

spotted or soaked with vegetable oil or cooking

oil. Even after being washed, these items may con-

tain significant amounts of these oils. The remain-

ing oil can ignite spontaneously. The potential for

spontaneous ignition increases when the items

containing vegetable oil or cooking oil are exposed

to heat. Heat sources, such as your clothes dryer,

can warm these items, allowing an oxidation reac-

tion in the oil to occur. Oxidation creates heat. If

this heat cannot escape, the items can become hot

enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking or storing

these kinds of items may prevent heat from escap-

ing and can create a fire hazard.

All washed and unwashed fabrics that contain veg-

etable oil or cooking oil can be dangerous.

Washing these items in hot water with extra deter-

gent will reduce, but will not eliminate, the haz-

ard. Always use the "cool down" cycle for these

items to reduce the items' temperature. Never

remove these items from the clothes dryer hot or

interrupt the drying cycle until the items have run

through the "cool down" cycle. Never pile or stack

these items when they are hot.

known to the State of California to cause cancer or

reproductive harm, and requires businesses to warn

Extended Tumble (select models)

Extended Tumble is provided to minimize wrinkles in

the Permanent Press hltelliDry Cycle. This feature pro-

vides an extra 24 minutes of unheated tumble action at

the end of the cycle. Clothes can be removed any time

during this portion of the cycle. The additional 24 min-

utes of unheated tumbling can be cancelled by setting

the switch to OFF.

Select Cycle

To select a cycle, push in and rotate the control dial to

the desired setting. When using an IntelliDry cycle, the

control dial should point to "Normal Dry" for most

loads.

Loads of larger or bulkier size may require the "More

Dry" setting to completely dry the load. The "Less

Dry" setting is best suited for lightweight fabrics or for

leaving some moisture in the clothing at the end of the

cycle.

is designed to dry wrinkle free cottons,

synthetic fabrics, double knits and

permanent press fabrics automatically.

The Regular IntelliDry cycle is

designed to dry loads such as towels,

underwear, t-shirts, jeans, etc.

Special Options

Damp Dry is located on the Time Dry/Air Fluff section

of the dial. It is designed to partially dry items and can

be used with any temperature selection. Damp Dry

will provide 20 minutes of tumbling time, followed by

5 minutes of cool-down tumbling.

Wrinkle Release will release wrinkles from items that are

clean and dry but only slightly wrinkled, such as from a

crowded closet or suitcase, or from sitting in the dryer

too long after the cycle has ended. Wrinkle Release pro-

vides 10 minutes of tumbling followed by five minutes

of cool-down tumbling and can be used with any tem-

perature selection.

For Best Performance:

• Refer to the Dryel instructions for proper use.

• Items in the bag must tumble. Place no more than 3

to 4 items in the bag at one time.

• Do not mix colors or fabrics when using Dryel.

• Immediately at the end of the cycle, remove gar-

ments from the Dryel bag. Hang the garments while

still warm and slightly damp to minimize wrinkles.

DO NOT use and place anY flammable substance or soI-

vent in the dryer including but not limited to: Energine,

Goddard's lighter fluid, WD-40 and vegetable oil.

Please follow the care label or manufacturer's instructions for drying special items. If care label instructions are not

available, use the following information as a guide.

Operating Tips

Clean the Lint Filter

• After each load.

• To shorten drying time.

• To operate more energy efficiently.

Load the Dryer Properly

• Place only one washload in the dryer at a time.

• Mixed loads of heavy and lightweight clothes will

dry differently. Lightweight clothes will dry, while

heavy clothes may be damp.

• Add one or more similar items to the dryer when

only one or two articles need drying. This improves

the tumbling action and drying efficiency.

• Overloading restricts tumbling action, resulting in

uneven drying as well as excessive wrinkling of

some fabrics.

When drying large, bulky items such as a blanket or

comforter, it may be necessary to reposition the load

during the cycle to ensure even drying.

Care & Cleaning

Control Panel

Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive sub-

stances.

Tumbler

Remove any stains such as crayon, ink pen or fabric

dye from new items (such as towels or jeans) with an

all-purpose cleaner. Then tumble old towels or rags to

remove any excess stain or cleaning substance. Once

these steps are done, stains may still be visible, but

should not transfer to subsequent loads.

Cabinet

Wipe off any marks with soap and water. Use an appli-

ance wax once a year if desired.

Dryer Exhaust System

Inspect and clean once a year to maintain optimum per-

formance. The outside exhaust hood should be cleaned

Replacing the Drum Light

Instructions for replacing the bulb:

1. Unplug or disconnect the dryer from the electrical

power supply.

2. Open the door and use a Phillips screwdriver to

remove the screw attaching the lens to the tumbler

front.

3. Remove lens cover by pulling cover toward center of

tumbler.

4. Rotate bulb counter-clockwise to remove from socket.

5. Replace the bulb with a 120 volt, 10 watt maximum

candelabra base light bulb.

6. Turn the light bulb clockwise into socket.

7. Replace lens cover by hooking plastic tabs into tum-

bler front below the light housing.

8. Reinstall the screw into the lens cover screw hole.

9. Reconnect dryer to power supply.

Drying Rack (select models)

Installing the Drying Rack:

1. Open dryer door.

2. Position drying rack in tumbler placing the two rear

legs in the two recessed areas in the back wall of the

dryer.

3. Place the front lip of the drying rack on top of the lint

filter.

4. Place items to be dried on the rack, leaving space

between them so air can reach all the surfaces.

5. Close the dryer door.

6. Use the Time Dry cycle. Select time according to

moisture and weight of item. Start the dryer. It may

be necessary to reset the timer if a longer drying time

is needed.

Storing the Drying Rack:

On dryer sides:

Tile drying rack hanger fits between tile dryer top and

the dryer cabinet.

1. Place the flange on the hanger in the seam between

the top and the cabinet. Push all the way in.

2. Face the top of the drying rack toward the side of the

dryer cabinet.

3. Place the drying rack handle over the lip of bhe hanger.

On dryer back:

1. Place the drying rack hanger between the dryer top

and the dryer cabinet just below the back of the con-

trol panel.

2. Place the flange in the seam and push all the way in.

3. Face the top of the drying rack toward the back of the

dryer cabinet.

4. Place the drying rack handle on the lip of the hanger.

Pour 6viter les risques d'incendie ou d ex F loslon

a. Ne pas s6cher d'articles qui ont auparavant 6t6 nettoy6s ou

lav6s h l'aide d'essence, de solvants de nettoyage h sec ou

d'autres produits explosifs ou inflammables, ou qui en

sont imbib6s ou 6clabouss6s, car ces substances produisent

des vapeurs qui peuvent s'enflammer ou exploser. Tout

tissu sur lequel des solvants de nettoyage ont 6t6 utilis6s

ou qui sont satur6s de liquides ou solides inflammables ne

dolt pas 6tre mis dans la s6cheuse avant que toute trace et

toute vapeur de ces liquides ou solides ne soient compl6te-

ment _limin6es. De nombreux produits extr6mement

inflammables sont commun6ment utilis6s h la maison,

entre autres l'ac6tone, l'alcool d6natur6, l'essence, le

k6ros_ne, certains produits de nettoyage m_nagers, les

d6tachants, la t6r6benthine, les cires et les d6capants de

cire.

Les articles contenant du caoutchouc mousse (l'6tiquette

indique parfois : mousse de latex) ou tout mat6riau de tex-

ture similaire ne doivent pas 8tre s6ch6s sur un cycle util-

isant de l'air chaud. Lorsqu'ils sont exposes h la chaleur,

ces mat6riaux peuvent, dans certaines conditions, s'en-

flammer par un ph6nom6ne de combustion spontan6e.

Ne pas laisser les enfants jouer sur ou dans 1apF arell. Une

surveillance constante est nScessaire quand l'appareil est util-

is6 en presence d'enfants.

Avant de mettre l'appareil hors service ou au rebut, retirer la

porte du compartiment de s6chage.

Ne pas mettre la main ou le bras dans l'appareil si le tambour

est en mouvement.

Ne pas installer ou remiser l'appareil dans un endroit oh il

est expos6 aux intemp6ries.

Ne pas modifier les m6canismes de commande.

Ne pas r6parer ou remplacer une piece de l'appareil ou

proc6der hun d6pannage, sauf si les instructions publi6es le

recommandent et que la personne effectuant la r6paration les

comprend et poss_de les connaissances voulues pour les ex6-

cuter.

Ne pas utiliser d'assouplissant textile ni de produit visant h

r6duire l'61ectricit6 statique sauf si le fabricant de ces produits

recommande leur usage dans la s6cheuse.

10. Nettoyer le filtre h charpie avant et apr_s chaque utilisation.

11. l_viter l'accumulation de charpie, de poussi_re et de salet6

directement autour du conduit d'6vacuation et dans toute la

zone envirormante.

Faire nettoyer r_guli_rement l'int6rieur de la s6cheuse et du

conduit d'6vacuation par des tec|miciens qualifi6s.

Cet appareil dolt 6tre correctement mis t_la terre. Ne jamais

brancher le cable 61ectrique de l'appareil sur une prise

murale non mise h la terre conform_ment aux codes locaux et

nationaux. Voir les instructions d'installation pour la mise h

la terre de cet appareil.

14. Ne pas s'asseoir sur la s_cheuse.

Ne pas sOcher d'articles qui ont tremp6 dans de l'huile

vOgOtale ou de l'huile de cuisine ou en sont tachOs.

M_me aprbs avoir 6t6 lavOs, ces articles peuvent encore

contenir des quantitOs non nOgligeables de ces sub-

stances. L'huile dont ils sont encore imbibOs peut pren-

dre feu spontanOment. Le risque de combustion spon-

tanOe de ces articles augmente quand ils sont exposOs

la chaleur. Des sources de chaleur, telles qu'une

sOcheuse, peuvent chauffer ces articles et entrainer une

rOaction d'oxydation de l'huile. L'oxydation produit de

la chaleur. Si cette chaleur n'est pas dissipOe, les articles

peuvent chauffer suffisamment pour prendre feu. Le

fait d'empiler ou d'entreposer ce type d'articles peut

emp_cher la dissipation de la chaleur et crOer ainsi un

risque d'incendie.

Tousles articles, lavOs ou non, qui contiennent de l'huile

vOgOtale ou de l'huile de cuisine sont un danger poten-

tiel. Le fait de les laver h l'eau chaude avec une plus

grande quantit6 de dOtergent que la normale rOduit les

risques mais ne les 61imine pas. Toujours utiliser le cycle

<<cooldown>> (cycle de refroidissement) pour r_duire la

tempOrature de ce type d'article. Ne jamais retirer ces

articles de la sOcheuse alors qu'ils sont encore chauds ni

interrompre le cycle de sOchage avant que l'appareil

n'ait effectu6 un cycle de refroidissement. Ne jamais

empiler ou entreposer ces articles pendant qu'ils sont

encore chauds.

ton de commande de la temp6rature au r6glage souhait6 :

Le culbutage prolong_ permet de minimiser les faux plis

dans le cycle _ pressage permanent IntelliDry. Cette carac-

t6ristique donne 24 minutes suppl6mentaires de culbutage

sans chauffage _ la fin du cycle. Le linge peut &tre enlev6

tout moment pendant cette portion du cycle. Les 24 minutes

suppl6mentaires de culbutage sans chaleur peuvent &tre

annul6es en r6glant l'interrupteur sur <<Off _>(Arr&t).

Pour s61ectionner un cycle, toumer le s61ecteur au r6glage

d_sir6. Uutilisation d'un cycle de s_chage intelligent signifie

que le s61ecteur dolt pointer entre _ Normal Dry - (nom_al

sec) pour la plupart des charges.

Les plus grosses charges n_cessitent parfois le r_glage

_ More Dry - pour s_cher compl_tement. I1est pr_f6rable de

s6cher le linge au r_glage _ Less Dry _ lorsque les tissus sont

plus 16gers ou que le linge dolt rester 16g_rement humide h la

fin du cycle.

<_Damp Dry ,_ (s6chage partiel) se trouve sur la partie

<<Time Dry/Air Fluff >>du s61ecteur. Cette option est concue

pour s6cher partiellement le linge et peut s'utiliser avec tous

les r6glages de temp6rature. La s6cheuse fonctionne h chaud

pendant 20 minutes, puis passe h une p6riode de refroidisse-

ment de 5 minutes.

_ Wrinkle Release _ (d6froissement) d6froisse les v_tements

propres et secs mais 16gbrement froiss6s pour _tre rest6s dans

un placard ou une valise trop pleins, ou encore dans la

s6cheuse h la fin du cycle. La s6cheuse fonctionne h chaud

pendant 10 minutes, puis passe h une p6riode de refroidisse-

ment de 5 minutes. Cette option peut s'utiliser h tousles

r6glages de temp6rature.

Tirer sur le bouton de com.

Tirer sur le bouton de commande et le tenir bribvement pour

mettre la s6cheuse en marche. La porte de la s6cheuse doit

6tre ferm6e pour que la s6cheuse puisse d6marrer.

REMARQUE: Une fois enfonc_, le s_lecteur peut _tre tourn_ dans I'une ou I'autre direction. II ne progresse pas

vitesse r_guli_re pendant les cycles de s_chage automatique. Au d_part, il peut rester immobile sur le m_me point.

Vers la fin du cycle (quand le linge commence _ s_cher), fl progresse _ un rythme plus r_gulier et beaucoup plus

rapide. Ceci est normal.

Capteur IntelliDry

Pendant la dur6e du cycle, le t6moin <<Wet _ (Mouill6),

<<Damp - (Humide) ou <<Dry -(Sec) sera allum6, selon la

quantit6 d'humidit6 restante dans le linge.

Lors de la p6riode de refroidissement, le t6moin Dry (Sec)

s'allume et la s6cheuse continue h culbuter le linge dans un

air non-chauff6 pour aider h minimiser le froissement.

Les t6moins du capteur IntelliDry ne s'allumeront que

lorsqu'un cycle IntelliDry sera en cours de fonctionnement.

Aucun t6moin ne s'allumera lors du s6chage minut6.

sac Dryel. Accrocher les v_tements encore chauds et

efficacement.

• Toute surcharge nuit au fonctionnement de la s_cheuse,

ce qui entraine un s_chage in_gal, de m_me qu'un exc_s

de plis dans certains tissus.

• Lors du s_chage d'articles de grande taille et vohm_ineux,

comme couvertures ou dessus de lit, il peut _tre n_ces-

saire de redisposer la charge pendant le cycle afin

d'obtenir un s_chage unifom_e.

Entretien

Tableau de commande

Nettoyer avec un linge doux et humide. Ne pas utiliser de

substances abrasives.

Tambour

Enlever toutes taches contuse celles de crayon, de stylo ou de

teinture (des nouveaux articles contuse serviettes ou jeans)

avec un nettoyant tout usage. Ensuite, faire s_cher par culbu-

tage avec de vieilles sel_iettes ou des chiffons pour enlever

tout exc_s de taches ou de substance de nettoyage. _. la suite

de ces _tapes, les taches peuvent encore _tre visibles mais ne

devraient pas affecter les charges suivantes.

Carrosserie

Nettoyer toutes traces de salet_ _ l'eau et au savon. Si d_sir_,

appliquer de la cire pour appareils m_nagers une fois par an.

Systeme d'evacuation de I'air

Doit _tre inspect_ et nettoy_ enti_rement une fois par an pour

donner des r_sultats optimums. La hotte se trouvant _ l'ex-

t_rieur de la r_sidence doit _tre nettoy_e plus fr_quemment

pour assurer son bon fonctionnement. (Voir les instructions

de mise en sel_ice pour plus de renseignements.)

Remplacement de I'ampoule du tambour

Remplacement de l'ampoule :

1. D6brancher la s6cheuse ou la d6connecter de l'alimenta-

tion en 61ectricit6.

2. Ouvrir la porte et utiliser un toumevis cruciforme pour

retirer la vis qui fixe le couvre-ampoule transparent h l'a-

vant du tambour.

3. Retirez le couvercle de l'ampoule en le tirant vers le centre

du tambour.

4. Pour retirer l'ampoule de la douille, tournezqa dans le

sens contraire des auguilles d'une montre.

5. Remplacer l'ampoule par une ampoule _ petit culot de

120 V et 10 W maximum.

6. Replacez l'ampuole dans la douille en la tournant dans le

sens des aiguilles d'une montre.

7. Replaces le couvercle de l'ampoule en ins6rant les attach-

es de plastique dans la partie avant du tambour, sous

l'emplacement de l'ampoule.

8. Remettez la vis dans le trou de couvercle de l'ampoule.

9. Rebrancher la s6cheuse ou la reconnecter _ l'alimentation.
