INTRODUCTION
The Bench Top Oven is ideal for curing powder coated objects. The 38 litre
capacity is suitable for small to medium size powder coating projects. Four
stainless steel heaters provide even heat to the item. The oven has an inner
lamp and a glass window.
Please consult the safety section in the powder coating tool manual and the
Safety Data Sheet for the powder material before installing and using this oven.
This oven is not intended for use in cooking or preparing food.

WORK AREA
1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well-lit
and free of distractions.
2. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from the
work area.
3. Store unused tools properly in a safe and dry location to prevent rust or
damage. Lock tools away and keep out of the reach of children.
4. Do not install or use in the presence of flammable gases, dust or liquids.
5. Keep a 4 foot area clear around the oven as a cooling space.
PERSONAL SAFETY
WARNING! Wear personal protective equipment approved by the Canadian
Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection
for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07
or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.

2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or to
reduce the effects of tool vibration.
3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the
work environment.
5. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator when working on materials that
produce hazardous fumes, dust or particulate matter.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid
personal injury or damage to tool.
1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medications.
2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the
moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.
3. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance
enables better control in unexpected situations.
SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from
repeated use) replace strict adherence to the tool safety rules. If you use
this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury.
1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific function.
Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended purpose.
2. Do not touch the surfaces or glass door with bare skin. These surfaces will
heat up and can inflict a burn injury. Use oven mitts when handling the door or
rack and allow the oven and materials inside to cool before removing.
a. The handle and selector dials may be handled without oven mitts.
3. Do not use to cook food. The powder coating cured in the oven is toxic and
may contaminate the food.
4. Do not attempt to use the oven to heat a room. It is not designed for this
purpose and may be damaged.
5. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.

6. Keep the oven away from all flammable materials. Do not allow flammable
materials to rest on or touch the hot oven.
7. Do not cover the exterior with metal foil as this will cause the oven to overheat.
8. Do not clean the oven with flammable liquids.
9. Do not cover or block the air vents. Covering or blocking the air vents can
cause the oven to overheat and fail. Also keep items off the top of the oven.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! To reduce risk of electric shock, be certain that the plug is
connected to a properly grounded receptacle.
1. Disconnect tool from power source before cleaning, servicing, changing
parts/accessories or when not in use.
2. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical
equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is an
increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.
3. Do not expose tool to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the temperature or
timer dials. This will prevent an accidental startup when the power cord is
plugged into the power supply.
a. In the event of a power failure, turn off the machine as soon as the
power is interrupted. The possibility of accidental injury could occur if
the power returns and the unit is not switched off.
5. Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts and accessories are
designed with built-in safety features that may be compromised if altered.
6. Make certain the power source conforms to requirements of your
equipment (see Specifications).
7. When wiring an electrically driven device, follow all electrical and safety
codes, as well as the most recent Canadian Electrical Code (CE) and
Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
8 Grounded tools must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and
grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances. Check with a qualified
electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. If

the tool should electronically malfunction or break down, grounding provides a
low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user.
a. Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any way, as
this will render the tool unsafe.
b. Do not use any adapter plugs.
9. This device is only for use on 120 V (single phase) and is equipped with a
3-prong grounded power supply cord and plug.
10. DO NOT use this device with a 2-prong wall receptacle.
a. Choose an available 3-prong power outlet.
b. Replace 2 prong outlet with a grounded 3-prong receptacle, installed
in accordance with the CE Code and local codes and ordinances.
WARNING! All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician.
POWER CORD
1. Insert the power cord plug directly to the power supply whenever possible.
Use extension cords or surge protectors only when the tool's power cord
cannot reach a power supply from the work area.
a. Use in conjunction with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). If
operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, the use of a
GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock. It is recommended that the
GFCI should have a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
2. Do not operate this tool if the power cord is frayed or damaged as an electric
shock or surge may occur, resulting in personal injury or property damage.
a. Inspect the tool's power cord for cracks, fraying or other faults in the
insulation or plug before each use.
b. Discontinue use if a power cord feels more than comfortably warm
while operating the tool.
c. Have the power cord replaced by a qualified service technician.
3. Keep all connections dry and off the ground to reduce the risk of electric
shock. Do not touch plug with wet hands.
4. Prevent damage to the power cord by observing the following:
a. Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the plug from an outlet.

b. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
5. Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass over
unprotected power cords.
a. Position power cords away from traffic areas.
b. Place cords in reinforced conduits.
c. Place planks on either side of the power cord to create a protective trench.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the
missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction
and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.
Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included Identification Key.
1. Place the appliance on a flat, steady surface that is well away from the
powder coating area. The area must also protect against vibration as this
can cause the powder coating to fall off the object in the oven.

2. Plug the oven into an outlet. The oven requires 1,400 watts to function.
Remove any other devices on the same electrical circuit.
3. The tray handle hooks into the tray to allow it to be removed safely while hot.
OPERATION
BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Remove the exterior and interior packaging.
2. Remove the rack and clean the oven interior surface with lukewarm water
and a soft cloth.
3. Burn the protective coating off the heating elements. Only do this in a well
ventilated area to avoid fumes. Also ensure it is away from the powder
coating area to avoid potential explosions.
a. Open the oven door and remove the rack.
b. Set the temperature control to 480 ºF (250 ºC).
c. Select the toast function so both the top and bottom heating elements
are activated.
d. Set the timer for 15 minutes.
e. Allow to cool once the 15 minutes are finished.
CURING THE PART
WARNING! Wear a NIOSH approved activated charcoal respirator when curing
the powder. Ventilating the area is not sufficient to avoid the hazard. Fumes
emitted by the plastic powder may contain isocyanates or other hazardous
chemicals that can cause respitory damage, eye and skin irritation or
create an allergic sensitivity to a chemical. Consult the SDS for the powder.
There are several options for curing. All require that the part can be heated to
400 °F (205 °C) for an average of 15 minutes. Check the powder’s instructions
for temperature and time.
Another method is to keep an eye on the part. The coating will melt and a sheen
will develop. When the part is entirely covered with a sheen, keep heating for
another 10 minutes.

1. Adjust the oven rack’s position based on whether
the powder coated item will be hung from an S-
hook (Fig. 2) or sit on the rack (Fig. 3). Place the
rack so both sides are supported in the grooves
on the side. Hang or place the item before coating
or turning the oven on to ensure it will fit.
a. You may choose to cover the rack with foil to
prevent powder from contaminating the rack.
2. Use an oven thermometer to ensure the oven’s
temperature is accurate. Adjust the temperature
if the thermometer shows the oven is too hot
or cool.
3. Set the timer, oven function and temperature.
The timer must be set for the oven to work.
a. Temperature – Set the temperature to 400 ºF
(205 °C) unless indicated otherwise by the
powder instructions.
b. Function – There are three dials.
i. Select Broil to activate the top heat element.
ii. Select Bake to activate the bottom heat
element.
iii. Select Toast to activate both heat elements.
c. Timer – Set the time to 15 minutes unless the
powder instructions indicate otherwise.
4. There are three switches under the control panel
(fig. 4). The rotisserie switch (G) is not used for
powder coating. The convection switch (I) should not
be used as it circulates the air in the oven and could
disturb the powder coating before it cures. The oven
light switch (H) will turn on the internal light.

5. Once the time is up, turn off the power. Allow the parts to cool by opening
the oven door and leaving them in place. The coating’s sheen may dull or
develop fine cracks if the part is allowed to cool too quickly.
a. Keep the respirator on when you are around the cooling part as it may
continue to emit harmful fumes.
6. Inspect the part once it is cool. If there are spots that were missed, you can
repeat the powder coating and curing process to fill in those spots.
POWDER COATING NON-CONDUCTIVE PARTS
Non-Conductive parts made of glass, wood or ceramic materials can be powder
coated, but will require heating before applying the powder.
1. Prepare the part according to the powder coating tool manual.
2. Heat the oven to 180 °F (82 °C) for glass and ceramic. Start at 130 °F (55 °C)
for wood. The temperature may need adjusting based on the type of wood.
a. Take precautions as wood is flammable and may produce fumes,
resins or glue during the heating process.
3. Place the glass or ceramic part in the oven for 10 minutes. Place wood in
the oven for 5 minutes.
4. Remove parts from the oven and hang in the powder coating area. Follow
the powder tool’s instruction to coat and cure the item.
CAUTION! Wear gloves to avoid burns from the heating process.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to
control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or
worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
3. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important information.
If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An
improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.

CLEANING
1. Before cleaning your appliance, unplug it and allow it to cool.
2. Remove the rack and tray.
3. Clean the oven interior and exterior with a damp cloth and a mild
detergent.
4. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners, scrubbing brushes or
chemical cleaners. They may damage the oven’s coating.
5. Wash the wire rack and tray separately.
6. Clean the oven door glass with a non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
7. Rinse with a damp cloth and wipe with a dry cloth.
STORAGE
Allow the appliance to cool completely before storing. If storing the appliance
for long periods of time make certain that the appliance is clean and free of
powder deposits. Store in a dry location such as on a table or countertop or in a
cupboard shelf.
DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.
Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for
electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function
properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician
service the tool.

INTRODUCTION
Le four d’établi convient idéalement pour cuire les objets de revêtement en
poudre. La capacité de 38 L est idéale pour les projets de revêtement en poudre
sur des pièces de petite ou moyenne dimension. Quatre appareils de chauffage
en acier inoxydable chauffent l’article de manière uniforme. Le four est muni
d’une lampe interne et d’une fenêtre de verre.
Le four d’établi est utilisé dans le cadre du processus de revêtement en poudre.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ SPÉCIFIQUES
DANGER ! Ne permettez PAS au confort ou à votre familiarisation avec l'outil
(obtenus après un emploi répété) de se substituer à une adhésion stricte aux
règles de sécurité de l'outil. Si vous utilisez cet outil de façon dangereuse
ou incorrecte, vous pouvez subir des blessures corporelles graves.
1. Utilisez le bon outil pour la tâche à effectuer. Cet outil a été conçu pour une
utilisation spécifique. Évitez de modifier ou d'altérer cet outil ou de l'utiliser à
une fin autre que celle pour laquelle il a été conçu.
2. Ne touchez pas les surfaces ou la porte de vitre avec la peau nue. Ces
surfaces chaufferont et pourraient causer des brûlures. Portez des gants
de cuisine pour manipuler la porte ou le support et laissez refroidir le four
et les matériaux à l’intérieur avant de les enlever.
a. La poignée et les cadrans sélecteurs peuvent être manipulés sans les
gants de cuisine.
3. N’utilisez pas pour cuire de la nourriture. Le revêtement en poudre cuit au
four est toxique et peut contaminer les aliments.
4. Ne tentez pas d’utiliser le four pour chauffer une pièce. Celui-ci n’est pas
conçu à cette fin et pourrait subir des dommages.
5. N’utilisez pas à l’extérieur ou pour usage commercial.
6. Tenez le four à l’écart de tous les matériaux inflammables. Évitez que les
matériaux inflammables ne reposent sur le four chaud ou ne viennent en
contact avec celui-ci.
7. Ne recouvrez pas l’extérieur avec une feuille de métal, puisque cela
entraînera la surchauffe du four.
8. Ne nettoyez pas le four avec des liquides inflammables.
9. Ne recouvrez pas ou ne bloquez pas les évents. Le four surchauffera et se
brisera si vous recouvrez ou obstruez les évents. Assurez-vous également
de ne placer aucun article sur le dessus du four.

1. Déconnectez l'outil de la source d'énergie avant le nettoyage, l'entretien, le
remplacement de pièces ou d'accessoires ou lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé.
2. Protégez-vous contre les chocs électriques lorsque vous travaillez en
présence d'équipement électrique. Évitez le contact entre votre corps et les
surfaces reliées à la terre. Il y a un risque plus élevé de choc électrique si
votre corps est mis à la terre.
3. Les outils ne doivent jamais être exposés à la pluie ou à une forte humidité.
Si l'eau pénètre à l'intérieur d'un outil, le risque de choc électrique devient
beaucoup plus grand.
4. Ne débranchez pas le cordon d’alimentation au lieu d’utiliser les cadrans de
réglage de la température et de la minuterie. Ceci permet d'éviter une mise
en marche involontaire lorsque vous branchez le cordon d'alimentation
dans la source d'énergie.
a. Advenant une panne de courant, fermez l'appareil dès que le courant
est interrompu. Il pourrait y avoir un risque de blessure accidentelle
advenant le retour du courant alors qu'on n'a pas fermé l'appareil.
5. Ne modifiez aucune partie de l'outil ou des accessoires. Toutes les pièces
et tous les accessoires sont conçus avec des dispositifs de sécurité
intégrés qui seront compromis s'ils sont modifiés.
6. Assurez-vous que la source d'énergie est conforme aux exigences de votre
équipement (consulter les spécifications).
7. Au moment de câbler un appareil électrique, respectez tous les codes en
matière d'électricité et de sécurité, ainsi que les versions les plus récentes
du Code canadien de l'électricité (CE) et du code du Centre canadien
d'hygiène et de sécurité au travail (CCHST).
8. Les outils mis à la masse doivent être branchés dans une prise qui est
correctement installée et mise à la masse conformément à tous les codes
et à tous les règlements. Consultez un électricien qualifié si vous doutez de
la mise à la masse appropriée d'une prise. En cas de défaillance
électronique ou de bris de l'outil, la mise à la masse procure un trajet de
faible résistance pour éloigner l'électricité de l'utilisateur.
a. Ne retirez jamais la broche de masse et ne modifiez jamais la fiche
puisque cela fera en sorte que l'outil ne sera plus sécuritaire.
