01. Introduction
Uniwand brings the professional beauty therapy
treatment to your home. Uniwand is a non-invasive
facial toning tool to be used alongside microcurrent
facial toning devices, such as the Uniglo, to reduce
visible signs of ageing. Uniwand works by delivering
low-level electrical impulses via the dual sphere
treatment head to the facial muscles. The wand
offers precise and flexible control, allowing users
to target the specific areas of need. Microcurrent
therapy should be completely pain-free. The current
delivered during the stimulation is so small that in
most cases, no sensation will be felt.
02. Intended Use
Uniwand is an accessory designed to be used with
TensCare beauty products in the home environment
to reduce signs of ageing. It is suitable for use by
all who can control the device and understand the
instructions.
Do not use the device for any purpose other than this
intended use. This device is intended for cosmetic
use on the face only.
Warning: Not suitable for use by children without
adult supervision.
Important: The device should only be used with
microcurrent programmes such as Uniglo FACE 2.
Only use Uniwand with microcurrent parameters
recommended in this manual.
Warning: If using Uniwand with the Uniglo Face and
3
Body Toning device, do not use FACE 1 programme or
any other programme than FACE 2.
03. Microcurrent
Microcurrent stimulation delivers low current into the
cells of the body. Microcurrent has been regularly
used by beauty professionals to offer a non-invasive
and safe face lift alternative to their clients. By
stimulating the facial muscles, regular microcurrent
treatments can positively impact the appearance of
your skin.
Microcurrent can have preventative and corrective
effects. The stimulation can help tighten skin and
soften fine lines and wrinkles. The stimulation can
also help muscle and tissue to be in a better state
of repair to receive the body’s own natural bio-
electrical impulses; hence a preventative result can
also be achieved.
Benefits of Microcurrent
Encourages collagen production to plump out
the tissue
Helps to tighten and soften lines and wrinkles
Boosts sagging muscles
Reduces oedema: puffiness under the eyes is
reduced as is dark circles under the eyes.
Gives a youthful appearance to the skin
Tightens and reduces open pores
Enhances colours and texture of the skin

Contraindications
Do not use if you have a pacemaker (or if you
have a heart rhythm problem) or with any
electronic devices. Using this unit with electronic
devices may cause erroneous operation of the
device. Stimulation in the direct vicinity of an
implanted device may affect some models.
Do not use during the first three months of
pregnancy.
Warnings
Uniwand is designed to be used with
Microcurrent programmes only. Do not use
with programmes that exceed the parameters
detailed in the technical specification.
Do not use when driving, operating machinery,
or similar actions needing muscular control.
Damaged leads, or sudden changes in
contact may cause brief involuntary muscle
movements.
Do not use if you have, in the area being treated:
active or suspected cancer or undiagnosed
pain with a history of cancer. Stimulation directly
through a confirmed or suspected malignancy
should be avoided as it may stimulate growth
and promote spread of cancer cells.
Do not use while simultaneously connected to
high frequency surgical equipment as it may
result in burns at the site of stimulator electrodes
6
and possible damage to the stimulator.
Do not use if you have metal implants in the
head or neck area.
Do not use if you have Botox injections in the
application area.
Do not use for 6-8 weeks following collagen
injections.
Do not use for 1 year following a Retin A or Ro-
Accuntaine treatment. This medication used in
the treatment of acne can cause thinning of the
skin.
Ensure the device is switched off before inserting
the Uniwand lead.
Cautions
Uniwand is intended for single patient use only.
Do not share your Uniwand. Improper treatment
or cross-infection may occur.
Caution should be used if you have a bleeding
disorder as stimulation may increase blood flow
to the stimulated region.
Caution should be used if you have suspected
or diagnosed epilepsy as electrical stimulation
may affect seizure threshold.
Do not permit use by children unable to
understand the instructions or persons with
cognitive disabilities, i.e., Alzheimer’s disease or
dementia.
Keep out of reach from children. Lead wire is a
long cord - risk of strangulation in infants.
7
Do not use on broken skin.
Some patients may experience skin irritation or
hypersensitivity due to the electrical stimulation
or electrically conductive medium (e.g., the
Unigel). The irritation can usually be reduced
by using an alternate conductive medium. If a
skin irritation continues, discontinue treatment
immediately.
Do not immerse your device in water or place it
close to excessive heat.
Keep the device away from sunlight, as long-
term exposure may affect the rubber causing it
to become less elastic and crack.
Keep the device away from lint and dust, as
long-term exposure may affect the sockets or
cause the battery connector to develop a bad
contact.
There are no user serviceable parts. Do not
attempt to open or modify the unit. This may
affect the safe operation of the unit and will
invalidate the warranty.
Adverse Reactions
If you experience skin irritation or burning,
discontinue use. If you experience any persistent
painful sensations during or following the use of the
Uniwand device, you should stop using the device
and consult your healthcare professional.

06. Before Use
Uniwand has designed to be used with Uniglo’s FACE
2 programme.
Important: Observe all the Contraindications,
Cautions and Warnings included with the device that
you are using the Uniwand with.
Programme Information
Uniglo’s FACE 2 programme has been designed to
provide three phases of treatment.
Phase 1 – Circulation: This part of the treatment
stimulates the epidermal and dermal blood
circulation. It also has an activating effect on the
lymph circulation.
Phase 2 – Superficial lift: This part of the programme
lifts the superficial facial muscles.
Phase 3 – Deep facial toning: This phase gives a lift to
deep facial muscles.
The programme phases are indicated on the Uniglo
display by the central bar (illustration below).
9
The intensity levels are preset for each phase. These
can be reduced by pressing the button.
First Use
Before using for the first time, test the Unigel with your
skin. Apply a generous amount of gel onto any part
of your body and leave for 30 minutes. After this time,
clean off the gel and check the area of skin. If there is
any irritation or if an allergic reaction develops within
24 hours, please discontinue use and seek advice
from your healthcare professional.
Preparation
Before use ensure your skin is clean and dry. Remove
facial hair as hair can reduce the conductivity
between the spheres and the skin and have a
negative impact on performance. Use Uniwand in
front of a mirror to allow for accurate completion of
the facial strokes.
07. Facial Strokes
The following pages detail microcurrent facial
techniques. Each area of the face has several
different strokes and starting positions.
Each facial stroke should take 5 seconds to perform.
The user should focus on one area of the face at a
time.
10
Jaw and Cheeks
Position 1 (Jaw) – Position the bottom sphere on
your jawline. Slowly glide the wand towards your
lower ear.
Position 2 (Lower Cheeks) - Position the bottom
sphere under your cheekbone. Slowly glide the
wand to your mid-ear.
Position 3 (Upper Cheeks) – Position the bottom
sphere on your cheekbone. Slowly glide the
wand to your upper ear.
Repeat for the opposite side of the face.
11
Forehead
Position the wand at position 1, above the thick
of your eyebrow. Slowly glide the wand toward
your hairline.
Repeat for position 2 and 3.
Repeat for the opposite side of the face.
12
Eye
Position the Uniwand at position 1, with the
spheres positioned horizontally. Slowly glide
the wand towards the inner corner of your eye,
maintaining the same orientation.
Repeat for position 2 and 3.
Repeat for the opposite side of the face.
13
Lip
Position the Uniwand above the upper lip. Push
the Uniwand up towards your ear and hold the
Uniwand in this position for 5 seconds.
Repeat at position 2.
Repeat for the opposite side of the face.
14
Cheek Contour
Position the Uniwand under the apple of the
cheek close to the nose. Lift the cheek contour
by pushing the Uniwand upwards. Hold the
Uniwand in this position for 5 seconds.
Repeat at position 2 (under the apple of the
cheek, mid-way between nose and ear) and 3
(under the apple of the cheek, near the hairline).
Repeat for the opposite side of the face.
15
08. Using Uniwand
1. Clean the area of the face you wish to treat.
2. Connect the Uniwand lead into either lead
socket on the Uniglo device.
3. Apply the Unigel Hyaluronic Conductive Gel to
the facial area. Use a similar amount as if you
are applying moisturiser to your face.
4. Turn on the Uniglo device.
5. Press the programme button until
FACE 2 programme has been selected.
Once selected, the treatment session
will automatically start.
6. Perform the facial strokes for the selected area
of the face, as indicated in the facial strokes
diagrams. Each facial stroke should take 5
seconds to perform.
For each phase of the Uniglo programme, the user
should complete a set of facial stroke cycles.
Phase 1 – 2 cycles
Phase 2 – 3 cycles
Phase 3 – 2 cycles
1 stroke = a facial stroke from one starting
position
1 cycle = facial strokes from each starting
position (see facial stroke diagrams), for both
sides of the face
1 phase = one part of the facial treatment with a
set number of cycles to complete.
16
For example, for the forehead, user would complete
strokes on the left side of the face at position 1, 2 and
3. They would then perform the strokes on the right
side of the face, again at position 1, 2 and 3. This would
be one complete cycle. For phase 1, the user should
complete this process twice (2 cycles), 3 times for
phase 2 (3 cycles) and twice for phase 3 (2 cycles).
Note: Each phase has a preset time (see Uniglo
manual) to perform the necessary cycles. However,
it is expected you will complete the facial cycles for
each phase within the allotted time.
7. If you have completed the number of cycles for
each phase before the end of the phase time,
unlock the device by pressing either
button and hold the phase skip button
for 3 seconds to move onto the next
phase.
Note: Expected treatment time per facial area is 5
minutes.
8. Once all three phases are complete, move onto
the next area of the face you wish to treat and
complete phase 1, 2 and 3 as instructed above.
Caution: Microcurrent stimulation can be
uncomfortable or painful if insufficient conductive
gel is used. If you start to feel pain midway through a
session, apply extra conductive gel to the area of the
face you are treating.
Frequency of Use
We recommend one treatment session daily, 5 days/
week, for 12 weeks. You may notice some positive
effects after just one session, but normally it will take
17
about 6 weeks before you notice a difference.
After your session
Turn off your Uniglo device pressing and holding
the power button on the side and disconnect
the Uniwand.
Wash your face with warm soapy water to
remove any excess Unigel.
It is important that the Uniwand is cleaned after
each use. Clean with either an alcohol-free
antibacterial wipe such as TensCare Wipes (see
X-WIPES) or by wiping with a damp cloth and
a solution of mild soap and water. Any excess
Unigel should be removed. Wipe dry.
If using alongside the Uniglo device, after use
store the Uniwand in the Uniglo storage pouch.
09. Disposal
Clean thoroughly and dispose of according to local
regulations.
