1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing a payment terminal Ingenico.

We recommend you to read carefully this installation guide: It gives you the necessary

information about safety precautions, unpacking, installation, and maintenance of your

terminal accessory.

WARRANTY / SECURITY

To benefit from the guarantee-related product, and to respect the security, we ask you to

use only accessories delivered in box with the product, entrusting maintenance operations

only to an authorized person.

The IMP300-MBCS (296148325) and IMP300-MBCW (296148333, Bluetooth Model)

accessories have been designed for iSMP Companion product do not attempt to use for any

other use.

Failure to comply with these instructions will void the manufacturer’s responsibility.

2. Unpacking

ADVICE

Carefully preserve the packaging of the IMP300. It must be re-used whenever the accessory

is shipped.

The following items are included in the IMP300 box :

POWER SUPPLY

WARNING

The power supply unit provided with your equipment is specially designed for Ingenico

terminals. Do not use any other power supply. The use of a power supply with apparently

similar voltage/current characteristics may damage your terminal.

3.3. Security

IMP300-MBPS and IMP300-MBCW (Bluetooth model) are specially designed for iSMP

Companion terminals charging.

Do not short-circuit the cradle contacts.

Do not attempt to open the cradle container or PSU unit.

 Do not attempt to replace the PSU unit by any other type even the characteristics

are similar.

 In case of abnormal behaviour disconnect the main power cord from the wall

outlet.

 The main plug of the power cord is the disconnecting device of the product

Electrical power outlet:

The electrical outlet must meet the following criteria:

 Must be installed near the equipment and easily accessible;

 Appliance plug must be connected to a grounded outlet , which connects to the

plug earth

 The protection of the installation must be set to 20 A in US and Canada, 13 A in

the UK and 16 A in other countries.

The electrical outlet AND power cord must meet the following criteria:

 Must meet standards and regulations in the country where used;

All external circuits connected to this product must be Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) and

Limited Power Sources (LPS) as stated in IEC60950-1:2005+A1:2010+A2:2013 et EN60950-

1:2006+A11:2009+A1:2010+A12:2011+A2:2013 standards

4. Installation and connection

4.1. Functional description

The IMP300 is a charger doc accessory for iSMP terminal.

4.2. Positioning the cradle

Install the cradle on a flat surface, with an easy access to an electrical outlet if needed.

Place the cradle away from any heat source and protected from dust, vibrations and

electromagnetic radiations (away from video terminals, PC, anti-shoplifting barriers, ...).

4.3. PSU connection

CAUTION :

Plug first the PSU unit to cradle before connecting the PSU to main power source.

 Plug the power jack and place the cable in the slot accordingly to back, right or left

exit

4.4. iSMP insertion

 Present the device over the cradle face to iPhone/ iPod touch side and plug it

carefully

4.5. Charging iSMP Companion

 Charging start as soon as iSMP Companion is inserted into the cradle

 Charging operation can be monitored by each side :

- Terminal

A battery indicator is provided on the iSMP screen, indicating the charge of the module.

- Charging cradle through LED indicators

LED indicators:

- Orange : in charge

- Green: charged

ADVICE

Before using iSMP Companion for the first time, you need to charge it for about 4 hours

After that, you can charge the iSMP 3 hours to recharge the battery to full capacity

5. Maintenance

CAUTION :

Before making any operations of maintenance in the terminal, make sure that

power supply is disconnected.

5.1. Cleaning of the cradle

First of all, unplug all the wires from the terminal.

Good rules for proper cleaning of the terminal are:

 Use a soft cloth that is very slightly soaked with soapy water to clean the outside of

the cradle.

 Do not clean the electrical connections.

 Do not use in any case, solvents, detergents or abrasive products:

Those materials might damage the plastic or electrical contacts.

 Avoid exposing the cradle to the direct rays of the sun.

5.2. Transport and storage

 Use the original packaging for any transport or storage of the product.

5.3. Troubleshooting

The terminal does not turn on when inserted into cradle:

 Battery level is too low

 Check the PSU connections

 Check for iSMP positioning into the cradle

 Check for electrical power network

5.4. Environment (WEEE, Batteries and Packaging)

This product is labeled in accordance with European Directives 2002/96/EC concerning

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and 2006/66/EC concerning Batteries

and Accumulators. Those provisions are requiring producers and manufacturers to become

liable for take-back, treatment and recycling upon end of life of equipment and batteries.

The associated symbol means that WEEE and waste batteries must not be thrown

away but collected separately and recycled.

Ingenico ensures that efficient collection and recycling schemes are set-up for WEEE and

batteries according to the local regulation of your country. Please contact your retailers for

more detailed information about the compliance solution in place for disposing of your old

product and used batteries.

Packaging waste must also be collected separately to assure a proper disposal and

recycling.

Please note that proper recycling of the electrical and electronic equipment and waste

batteries will ensure safety of human health and environment.
