Instructions For Use
Magnetized Voltage Probe
(Cat. #5000.43)
DESCRIPTION:
The product presented with these instructions for use is a
magnetic adapter with 4 mm banana female terminal. See
the part number of the product on the packaging. The
NORMAL USE of the product is electrical measurements
and tests by connecting to electrical equipment for
measurement, control, and laboratory use.
SAFETY & PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:
•
WORKING VOLTAGE and CATEGORY, see the
markings on the product (The CATEGORY of a
combination of two products is the lower of the
CATEGORIES.)
•
Maximum current, see the markings on the product.
•
Double insulation.
•
POLLUTION DEGREE 2.
•
Temperature, from (0 to +40) °C. Maximum relative
humidity 80 % for temperatures up to 31 °C decreasing
linearly to 50 % relative humidity at 40 °C.
•
Outdoor use in the absence of precipitation, and indoor use.
•
Maximum altitude, 2000 m
ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY:
•
European / international standard EN / IEC 61010- 031:2015.
•
Low Voltage European Directive 2014/35/EU.
WARNINGS:
•
Safety is impaired if instructions are not respected.
•
The RESPONSIBLE BODY shall check that the
OPERATOR uses the products in NORMAL
CONDITION and NORMAL USE. The safety of any
system which may include the products is the
responsibility of the assembler of the system. If the
product safety is CAT II only (not CAT III not CAT IV)
then you should use it downstream from a single-phase
power outlet. If the product safety is CAT III or CAT IV then
you can use it downstream from an electricity meter.
•
Clean regularly all the parts with a soft cotton cloth
lightly moistened with a mild solution of detergent and
water after having fully disconnected the fuse-holder.
Dry thoroughly the parts before any energizing. Do not
immerse the products in liquid.
•
Each time before use, check always that the
insulation of the product is in good condition. Any
part whose insulation is (even partially) damaged
must be removed from use and scrapped.
•
Do not use the products in WET LOCATIONS or
explosive atmospheres. For use in clean and dry areas.
•
Do not use the product beyond the specifications.
DEFINITIONS (EN/IEC 61010-031):
•
NORMAL USE. Operation, including stand-by,
according to the instructions for use or for the obvious
intended purpose.
•
NORMAL CONDITION. Condition in which all means
for protection against HAZARDS are intact.
•
HAZARD. Potential source of harm.
•
OPERATOR. Person operating the probe assembly
for its intended purpose.
•
RESPONSIBLE BODY. Individual or group
responsible for the safe use and maintenance of
probe assemblies.
•
WORKING VOLTAGE. Highest RMS value of the
AC or DC voltage across any particular insulation
which can continuously appear during NORMAL USE.
•
POLLUTION. Addition of foreign matter, solid, liquid
or gaseous (ionized gases), that may produce a
reduction of dielectric strength or surface resistivity.
•
POLLUTION DEGREE 2. Only non-conductive
POLLUTION occurs except that occasionally a temporary
conductivity caused by condensation is expected.
DEFINITION OF MEASUREMENT CATEGORIES (CAT):
CAT IV: Corresponds to measurements performed at the
primary electrical supply (< 1000 V).
Example: primary overcurrent protection devices, ripple
control units, and meters.
CAT III: Corresponds to measurements performed in the
building installation at the distribution level.
Example: hardwired equipment in fixed installation and
circuit breakers.
CAT II: Corresponds to measurements performed on
circuits directly connected to the electrical distribution
system.
Example: measurements on household appliances and
portable tools.
•
CAUTION, possibility of electric shock.
•
Consult the instructions of the product.
•
WET LOCATION. Location where water or another
conductive liquid may be present and is likely to cause
reduced human body impedance due to wetting of the
contact between the human body and the products or
wetting of the contact between the human body and the
environment.

Adaptateurs magnétiques

IDENTIFICATION:
Le produit présenté par ces instructions d’utilisation est un
adaptateur magnétique avec raccord banane 4 mm
femelle. Voir la référence du produit sur le
conditionnement. L’UTILISATION NORMALE du produit est le
mesurage et l’essai électriques en étant connecté à des appareils
électriques de mesurage, de régulation, et de laboratoire.
SÉCURITÉ ET CARACTÉRISTIQUES DU PRODUIT:
•
TENSION DE SERVICE et CATEGORIE, voir
marquages sur le produit. (La CATEGORIE d’un
assemblage de deux produits est la CATEGORIE la
plus faible parmi les deux produits.)
•

•
Isolation renforcée.
•
DEGRE DE POLLUTION 2.
•
Température d’utilisation, de 0 °C à +40 °C. Humidité
relative maxi. de 80 % jusqu'à 31 °C avec décroissance
linéaire jusqu'à 50 % d'humidité relative à 40 °C.
•
Utilisation en extérieur en l’absence de précipitations,
et en intérieur.
•

PRÉCAUTIONS ET ADVERTISSEMENTS:
•
La sécurité est compromise si les instructions ne
sont pas respectées.
•
L’AUTORITE RESPONSABLE doit vérifier que
l’OPERATEUR se sert du produit en CONDITION
NORMALE et en UTILISATION NORMALE. La
sécurité de tout système qui pourrait intégrer ces produits
relève de la responsabilité de l'assembleur du système.
•
Nettoyez régulièrement les différentes parties du
produit avec un chiffon doux légèrement mouillé par
une solution mi-eau mi-détergent après avoir
complètement déconnecté ces produits. Séchez
complètement ces parties avant toute mise sous
tension. Ne plongez pas ces parties dans un liquide.
•
Avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez l’intégrité des
isolants du produit. Toute partie dont l'isolant est
détérioré (même partiellement) doit être consignée et
mise au rebut.
•
N'utilisez pas ce produit en atmosphères
explosives ni en EMPLACEMENTS HUMIDES. Pour
utilisation en milieux propres et secs.
•
N’utilisez pas le produit au-delà des
caractéristiques.
DÉFINITIONS (EN/CEI 61010-031):
•
UTILISATION NORMALE. Fonctionnement y compris
•
en position d’attente, conformément aux instructions
d'utilisation ou à l’usage prévu évident.
•
CONDITION NORMALE. Etat dans lequel tous les
moyens de protection contre les DANGERS sont
intacts.
•
DANGER. Phénomène dangereux source potentielle
de dommage.
•
OPERATEUR. Personne qui utilise le produit pour
l'usage auquel il est destiné.
•
AUTORITE RESPONSABLE. Individu ou groupe
responsable de l’utilisation et de la maintenance du
produit en sécurité.
•
TENSION DE SERVICE. Valeur de tension la plus
élevée pouvant être présente de façon permanente en
UTILISATION NORMALE.
•
POLLUTION. Toute addition de corps étrangers,
solides, liquides ou gazeux (gaz ionisés), qui peut
produire une réduction de rigidité diélectrique ou de
résistivité superficielle.
•
DEGRE DE POLLUTION 2. Pollution non conductrice
seulement, pouvant occasionnellement présenter une
conductivité temporaire provoquée par la condensation.
DÉFINITION DES CATÉGORIES DE MESURE (CAT):
CAT IV: Pour les mesures effectuées à l’alimentation
électrique primaire (< 1000 V).
Telles que sur les dispositifs primaires de protection contre les
surintensités, les unités de contrôle d’ondulation ou les compteurs.
CAT III: Pour les mesures effectuées dans l’installation du
bâtiment au niveau de la distribution.
Par exemple sur des équipements câblés en installation fixe et
des disjoncteurs.
CAT II: Pour les mesures effectuées sur des circuits
directement connectés au système de distribution électrique
(prise murale d’alimentation CA).
Des exemples sont les mesures sur des appareils ménagers
ou des outils portables.
•
Attention, possibilité de choc électrique.
•
Consultez les instructions d’utilisation du produit.
•
EMPLACEMENT HUMIDE. Emplacement où peuvent
être présents de l’eau ou d’autres liquides conducteurs
et qui risquent de réduire l’impédance du corps humain
à cause du mouillage du contact entre le corps humain
et les produits, ou du mouillage du contact entre le
corps humain et l’environnement.
