Wear eye protection that meets ANSI Z87.1 and OSHA standards.

Spring compression creates a potentially dangerous situation because of the trapped energy. Release
the pressure on the compressor before removing the tool from the cylinder head.
Operating Instructions
1. Positionashortmetaltubeonthespringcap–notthevalve–andlightlytapthetubewithahammer.Thisloosens
thecolletsfromthespringretainerandvalvespringkeepers.
2. Ifapplicable,removetheclipfromthevalvekeeper.
3. Determinewhichreleaseadapter,1in.(25mm)or1-3/16in.(30mm),besttstheapplication.Theadaptershould
notinterferewiththevalvekeeper.Threadtheadapterontotheadjustingscrewasshown.(Theotheradaptermaybe
threadedontotheotherendofthescrewforstorage.)
4. Lockthehandleonthevalvespringcompressor.
5. Positionthecompressorwiththereleaseadapteralignedsquarelyonthespringretainingcap,andthecupontheend
oftheT-baractuatingscrewpressingagainstthevalve.
6. TightentheT-barhandletocompressthevalvespringandexposethecollets.
CAUTION : To prevent equipment damage, if the spring cap refuses to free up and release the collets, LOOSEN
THE T-BAR until pressure is released from the spring retainer. Remove the compressor and repeat Steps 1–6.
7. Removethecollets,andloosentheT-barhandletoreleasepressurebeforeremovingthecompressor.
CAUTION : To prevent personal injury, before removing the tool from the cylinder head, release pressure
on the compressor by loosening the T-bar handle.
