PRÉCAUTIONS D’EMPLOI
■ Toujours tester l’appareil sur le secteur avant
d’utiliser le testeur.
■ Ce testeur de phase ne doit pas être considéré
comme un vérificateur d’absence de tension
(VAT).
■ Ne pas utiliser sur une installation dont la tension
est supérieure à 1000V par rapport à la terre et
dont la catégorie de surtension est supérieure
à III.

Livré avec deux piles 1.5V AAA et ce mode d’emploi.
1. PRÉSENTATION
Le VT 12 est un testeur unipolaire de tension alternative,
sans contact.
Il permet de détecter la présence d’une tension de
230VAC 50Hz/60Hz par rapport à la terre et permet
ainsi de repérer visuellement la phase du neutre sur
les réseaux 400V~ tri/230V~ mono.
Il possède également une fonction torche.
2. FONCTION TORCHE
Appuyez sur l’interrupteur (rep.3) pour allumer ou
éteindre la «torche».
3. DÉTECTION DE TENSION
ALTERNATIVE 230V AC
REPÉRAGE DE PHASE
Toujours tester l’appareil sur le secteur avant d’utiliser
le testeur.
3.1 MISE EN OEUVRE
Prendre le testeur en main et mettre la pointe isolée
(rep.6) au contact de la prise secteur, du câble élec-
trique ou de la borne à tester.
En cas de présence de tension 230VAC 50/60Hz par
rapport à la terre, la pointe isolée s’allume.
La présence d’une tension de 230VAC 50/60Hz par
rapport à la terre permet ainsi d’identifier la borne de
phase (pointe isolée (rep.6) allumée) et la borne de
neutre (pointe isolée (rep.6) éteinte).
3.2 DOMAINE D’UTILISATION SPÉCIFIÉ
■ Détection de tension, sans contact :
200V~≤ U ≤ 265V~ par rapport à la terre.
■ Fréquence : 50/60Hz ±5%
■ Tension maxi par rapport à la terre : 1000V
■ Temps de réponse : < 0,5 seconde
3.3 LIMITE DE DÉTECTION
■ Attention : Du fait du principe de fonctionnement
par capteur capacitif, certaines conditions peuvent
affecter la détection de phase : présence d’un champ
électrique important, revêtement de sol isolant, échelle
en bois, ensoleillement intense, ... blindage de câble.
La pointe isolée (rep.6) peut ainsi s’allumer sans
qu’une tension réseau 230VAC 50/60Hz ne soit à
proximité immédiate du capteur.

Conditions à respecter pour garantir le bon
fonctionnement.

projection d’eau conformément à l’indice de
protection IP 40.

5. MAINTENANCE
Pour la maintenace, utilisez seulement les pièces
de rechange quiont été spécifiées. Le fabricant
ne pourra être tenu pour responsable de tout
accident survenu suite à une réparation
effectuée en dehors de son service après-vente
ou des réparateurs agréés.
5.1 REMPLACEMENT DES PILES
■ Soulevez puis poussez le bras de la trappe à piles
(rep.4).
■ Remplacez les deux piles 1.5V AAA (IEC LR03)
défectueuses et refermez le boîtier avant utilisation.
5.2 ENTRETIEN
■ Nettoyage du boîtier avec un chiffon légèrement
imbibé d’eau savonneuse. Rincez avec un chiffon
humide. Ensuite séchez rapidement avec un chiffon
sec ou de l’air pulsé.
5.3 STOCKAGE
Si le testeur n’est pas mis en service pendant une
durée dépassant 60 jours, enlevez les piles et stockez
les séparément.
5.4 ALIMENTATION
■ 2 piles 1.5V (AAA, LR03)
■ Autonomie : 2500 tests de 5 secondes.

For best results with this instrument:

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
■ Always test the instrument on line power before
using the tester.
■ This phase tester must not be considered to be
a voltage absence tester (IEC 61243-3 device).
■ Do not use on an installation in which the
voltage is greater than 1000V with respect to
earth and which has an overvoltage category
higher than III.

manual.
1. INTRODUCTION
The VT 12 is a contact-free unipolar alternating-
current voltage tester.
It detects the presence of 230VAC 50Hz/60Hz with
respect to earth and so allows visual identification of
the neutral phase in 400V three-phase/230V single-
phase AC networks.
It also has a torch function.
2. TORCH FUNCTION
Press the switch (no. 3) to turn the «torch» on or off.
3. DETECTION OF 230V AC
PHASE IDENTIFICATION
Always test the instrument on line power before using
the tester.
3.1 USE
Take the tester in hand and touch the line power outlet
cord, or terminal to be tested with the isolated tip
(no. 6).
The presence of 230V AC 50 60Hz with respect to
earth causes the isolated tip (no. 6) to light.
The presence of 230V AC 50/60Hz with respect to
earth thus serves to identify the phase terminal (isolated
tip (no. 6) lit) and the neutral terminal (isolated tip
(no. 6) off).
3.2 SPECIFIED DOMAIN OF USE
■ Detection of voltage, without contact :
200V~≤ U ≤ 265V~.
■ Frequency : 50/60Hz ±5%
■ Maximum voltage with respect to earth : 1000V
■ Response time : < 0,5 second
3.3 DETECTION LIMITS
■ Warning. Because of the principle of operation by
capacitive sensor, certain conditions may affect phase
detection: presence of a strong electric field, insulating
floor covering, wooden ladder, bright sunlight, etc.

The isolated tip (no. 6) can thus light without there
being a 230V AC 50/60Hz network voltage in the
immediate vicinity of the sensor.

5. MAINTENANCE
For maintenance, use only specified spare parts.
The manufacturer shall not be held liable for any
accident occurring following a repair done other
than by its Customer Service Department or an
approved repairer.
5.1 REPLACING THE BATTERY
■ Lift part no. 4 and push on it to withdraw the battery
cover (part no. 2)
■ Replace the used 1.5 V batteries by batteries of the
same type and close the case again before using
the tester.
5.2 CLEANING
■ Clean the case with a cloth slightly moistened with
soapy water. Wipe off with a damp cloth.
Then dry quickly with a cloth or in a hot air flow.
5.3 STORAGE
If the tester is not used for more than 60 days, remove
the batteries and store then separately.
5.4 POWER SUPPLY
■ 2 batteries 1.5V (AAA, LR03)
■ Battery life : 2500 tests of 5 seconds.
