GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance must be grounded. Grounding

reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an

escape wire for the electrical current.

This appliance has a cord that has a grounding

wire with a 3-prong plug. The power cord must be

plugged into an outlet that is properly grounded.

If the outlet is a 2-prong wall outlet, it must be

replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall

outlet. The serial rating plate indicates the voltage

and frequency the appliance is designed for.

WARNING - Improper use of the grounding

plug can result in a risk of electric shock.

Consult a qualiﬁ ed electrician or service agent

if the grounding instructions are not completely

understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the

appliance is properly grounded.

Do not connect your appliance to extension

cords or together with another appliance in the

same wall outlet. Do not splice the power cord.

Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the

third ground prong from the power cord. Do not

use extension cords or ungrounded (two prongs)

adapters.

Have a qualiﬁ ed electrician install a grounded outlet

near the appliance if the power cord is too short.

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the

risks resulting from becoming entangled or tripping

over a longer power cord.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Read all instructions.

• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle or the

lid button.

• To protect against electrical shock do not

immerse the cord, plugs or any other part of the

appliance in water or any other liquid.

• This appliance is not intended for use by

persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack

of experience or knowledge, unless they have

been given supervision or instruction concerning

use of the appliance by a person responsible for

their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that

they do not play with the appliance.

• Unplug from the outlet when not in use and

before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting

on or taking off parts and before cleaning the

appliance.

• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged

cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,

or has been damaged in any manner. Consult a

qualiﬁ ed technician for examination, repair or

electrical or mechanical adjustment.

• The use of accessory attachments not

recommended by the appliance manufacturer

may cause injuries.

• Do not use outdoors.

• Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of

a table or counter or to touch a hot surface.

• Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas

or electrical burner or in a heated oven.

• Extreme caution must be used when moving an

appliance containing hot liquids.

• Do not use the appliance or attached base for

anything other than their intended use. The kettle

can only be used with the provided base.

• Do not overﬁ ll the kettle.

• Always ensure the lid is closed and do not lift

the kettle while water is boiling. Scalding may

occur if the lid is opened while water is boiling.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

OPERATION

Always use the kettle on a ﬂ at, stable surface.

To ﬁ ll the kettle, remove it from the power base and

press the lid button to open the lid. Fill the kettle with

the desired amount of water and close the lid.

IMPORTANT: Be sure not to overﬁ ll the kettle to

avoid spillage of boiling water.

The kettle should be ﬁ lled between the minimum

and maximum indicators on the side. If there is

not enough water, the kettle will shut off before the

water is boiled. If there is too much water, boiling

water could spill and cause injury.

Replace the kettle on the power base and connect

the plug to a power outlet.

Press the power switch and the power light will

illuminate to indicate that the kettle is heating.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the power switch is free of

obstruction and that the lid is ﬁ rmly closed.

The kettle will turn off automatically once the water

is boiled.

IMPORTANT: Be very careful when pouring boiling

water. Hot water and steam can cause burns and

scalding. Do not open the lid while the water is still

hot.

When the kettle turns off, the power switch cannot

be pressed again for 30 seconds to allow the

internal circuit to reset.

The kettle can be stored on the power base.

Unplug the kettle when not in use.

FIRST TIME USE

It is recommended to clean the kettle before using it

for the ﬁ rst time.

Fill the kettle to the maximum capacity and set

the water to boil. Once boiled, discard this water.

Complete this process twice to remove any dust from

the inside of the kettle.

The maximum capacity of the kettle is 1.2 litres.

CLEANING

Always disconnect the kettle from the power outlet

and allow it to cool completely before any cleaning.

To protect against electrical shock do not immerse

the cord, plugs or any other part of the appliance in

water or any other liquid.

Wipe the inside and outside of the kettle with a

damp cloth to clean it. A mild soap or vinegar

solution can be used.

WARNING: Do not use poisonous cleaners or

bleach.

CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or

abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle to

prevent damage to the glass body.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Appliance will not operate

• Blown fuse or circuit breaker

• Plug not fully inserted into the outlet

• Switch not turned on

Appliance will not heat

• No power

• Not enough water in the kettle

BOIL DRY PROTECTION

If there is not enough water in the kettle, the boil

dry protection will automatically turn the kettle off to

avoid damage to the heating element.

If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool completely

before ﬁ lling with water.

MINERAL DEPOSITS

The kettle may accumulate mineral deposits over

time. This is caused by minerals in tap water that

will form a scale on the bottom of the kettle after

repeated heating.

You can use any commercially available descaler

to remove mineral deposits. Please follow the

instructions on the package.

Alternately, ﬁ ll the kettle with ~40 ml of white

vinegar and add enough water to ensure the

bottom of the kettle is covered. Let this mixture stand

overnight.

After 24 hours, discard the vinegar and water

mixture. Boil and discard fresh water in the kettle

twice to remove the vinegar smell. Any remaining

stains on the spout can be removed with a damp

cloth.

LIMITED IN-HOME APPLIANCE WARRANTY

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating

conditions intended by the manufacturer.

This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter

“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY

Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.

First Year

During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s

option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

Danby reserves the right to limit the boundaries of “In Home Service” to the proximity of an Authorized Service Depot. Any app liance

must be performed by a qualied service technician.

If service is performed on the units by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial appli cation, all

obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.

authorized distributors and all other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, including any warranties, conditio ns, representations or guarantees

under any Sale of Goods Act or like legislation or statue is hereby expressly excluded. Save as herein provided, Danby shall no t be responsible for any damages

to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction o f the unit and by the purchase of

the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or propert y caused by the unit.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following:

1) Power failure.

2) Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.

3) Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.

4) Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating con ditions

(extremely high or low room temperature).

5) Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).

6) Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, oods etc.

7) Service calls resulting in customer education.

8) Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for out door application).

Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; so, please retain bills of sale. In the event warranty service is required, present this document to our

AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEPOT.

Transportation charges to and from the service location are not protected by this warranty and are the responsibility of the purchaser.

INSTRUCTIONS DE MISE À LA TERRE

Ce ventilateur doit être mis à la terre. La mise

à la terre réduit le risque de choc électrique en

fournissant un ﬁ l d’évacuation pour le courant

électrique.

Ce ventilateur est doté d’un cordon doté d’un ﬁ l

de mise à la terre avec une ﬁ che à 3 broches. Le

cordon d’alimentation doit être branché dans une

prise correctement mise à la terre. Si la prise est une

prise murale à 2 broches, elle doit être remplacée

par une prise murale à 3 broches correctement mise

à la terre. La plaque signalétique indique la tension

et la fréquence pour lesquelles l’appareil est conçu.

AVERTISSEMENT - Une mauvaise utilisation de la

prise de terre peut entraîner un risque de choc

électrique. Consultez un électricien qualiﬁ é ou

un agent de service si les instructions de mise à

la terre ne sont pas complètement comprises, ou

s’il existe un doute quant à savoir si l’appareil est

correctement mis à la terre.

Ne connectez pas votre appareil à des rallonges

ou avec un autre appareil dans la même prise

murale. Ne pas épisser le cordon d’alimentation.

Ne coupez ni ne retirez en aucun cas la troisième

broche de terre du cordon d’alimentation. N’utilisez

pas de rallonges ou d’adaptateurs non mis à la

terre (à deux broches).

Demandez à un électricien qualiﬁ é d’installer une

prise de terre à proximité de l’appareil si le cordon

d’alimentation est trop court.

Un cordon d’alimentation court est fourni pour

réduire les risques de s’emmêler ou de trébucher sur

• Ne remplissez pas trop la bouilloire.

• Assurez-vous toujours que le couvercle est fermé

et ne soulevez pas la bouilloire pendant que

l’eau bout. Des brûlures peuvent se produire si le

couvercle est ouvert pendant que l’eau bout.

INSTRUCTIONS D’UTILISATION

OPÉRATION

Utilisez toujours la bouilloire sur une surface plane

et stable.

Pour remplir la bouilloire, retirez-la de la base

électrique et appuyez sur le bouton du couvercle

pour ouvrir le couvercle. Remplissez la bouilloire

avec la quantité d’eau désirée et fermez le

couvercle.

IMPORTANT : Assurez-vous de ne pas trop remplir

la bouilloire pour éviter de renverser de l’eau

bouillante.

La bouilloire doit être remplie entre les indicateurs

minimum et maximum sur le côté. S’il n’y a pas

assez d’eau, la bouilloire s’éteindra avant que l’eau

ne soit bouillie. S’il y a trop d’eau, l’eau bouillante

peut se renverser et causer des blessures.

Replacez la bouilloire sur la base électrique et

branchez la ﬁ che sur une prise de courant.

Appuyez sur l’interrupteur d’alimentation et le

voyant d’alimentation s’allumera pour indiquer que

la bouilloire chauffe.

IMPORTANT : Assurez-vous que l’interrupteur

d’alimentation n’est pas obstrué et que le couvercle

est bien fermé.

La bouilloire s’éteindra automatiquement une fois

l’eau bouillie.

IMPORTANT : Soyez très prudent lorsque vous

versez de l’eau bouillante. L’eau chaude et la

vapeur peuvent provoquer des brûlures et des

échaudures. N’ouvrez pas le couvercle tant que

l’eau est encore chaude.

Lorsque la bouilloire s’éteint, l’interrupteur

d’alimentation ne peut pas être enfoncé à nouveau

pendant 30 secondes pour permettre au circuit

interne de se réinitialiser.

La bouilloire peut être rangée sur la base électrique.

Débranchez la bouilloire lorsque vous ne l’utilisez

pas.

PREMIÈRE UTILISATION

Il est recommandé de nettoyer la bouilloire avant de

l’utiliser pour la première fois.

Remplissez la bouilloire à la capacité maximale et

mettez l’eau à bouillir. Une fois bouillie, jetez cette

eau. Effectuez ce processus deux fois pour éliminer

toute poussière de l’intérieur de la bouilloire.

La capacité maximale de la bouilloire est de 1,2

litre.

NETTOYAGE

Débranchez toujours la bouilloire de la prise de

courant et laissez-la refroidir complètement avant

tout nettoyage.

Pour se protéger contre les chocs électriques, ne

plongez pas le cordon, les ﬁ ches ou toute autre

partie de l’appareil dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide.

Essuyez l’intérieur et l’extérieur de la bouilloire avec

un chiffon humide pour la nettoyer. Une solution de

savon doux ou de vinaigre peut être utilisée.

AVERTISSEMENT : N’utilisez pas de nettoyants

toxiques ou d’eau de Javel.

ATTENTION : N’utilisez pas de nettoyants

chimiques, en acier, en bois ou abrasifs pour

nettoyer l’extérieur de la bouilloire aﬁ n d’éviter

d’endommager le corps en verre.

DÉPANNAGE

L’appareil ne fonctionnera pas

• Fusible ou disjoncteur grillé

• Fiche pas complètement insérée dans la prise

• L’interrupteur n’est pas allumé

L’appareil ne chauffe pas

• Aucune puissance

• Pas assez d’eau dans la bouilloire

PROTECTION CONTRE L’ÉBULLITION À SEC

S’il n’y a pas assez d’eau dans la bouilloire,

la protection contre l’ébullition à sec éteindra

automatiquement la bouilloire pour éviter

d’endommager l’élément chauffant.

Si cela se produit, laissez la bouilloire refroidir

complètement avant de la remplir d’eau.

GISEMENTS MINÉRAUX

La bouilloire peut accumuler des dépôts minéraux

au ﬁ l du temps. Ceci est causé par les minéraux

dans l’eau du robinet qui formeront un tartre au

fond de la bouilloire après un chauffage répété.

Vous pouvez utiliser n’importe quel détartrant

disponible dans le commerce pour éliminer les

INSTRUCCIONES DE PUESTA A TIERRA

Este ventilador debe estar conectado a tierra. La

conexión a tierra reduce el riesgo de descarga

eléctrica al proporcionar un cable de escape para

Este ventilador tiene un cable que tiene un cable

OPERACIÓN

Utilice siempre el hervidor sobre una superﬁ cie

plana y estable.

Para llenar el hervidor, retírelo de la base de

energía y presione el botón de la tapa para abrir

la tapa. Llene el hervidor con la cantidad de agua

deseada y cierre la tapa.

IMPORTANTE: asegúrese de no llenar demasiado el

hervidor para evitar derrames de agua hirviendo.

El hervidor debe llenarse entre los indicadores

de mínimo y máximo en el costado. Si no hay

suﬁ ciente agua, el hervidor se apagará antes

de que hierva el agua. Si hay demasiada agua,

el agua hirviendo podría derramarse y causar

lesiones.

Vuelva a colocar el hervidor en la base de

alimentación y conecte el enchufe a una toma de

corriente.

Presione el interruptor de encendido y la luz de

encendido se iluminará para indicar que el hervidor

USO POR PRIMERA VEZ

Se recomienda limpiar el hervidor antes de usarlo

por primera vez.

Llene el hervidor hasta la capacidad máxima y

ponga el agua a hervir. Una vez hervida, deseche

esta agua. Complete este proceso dos veces para

eliminar el polvo del interior del hervidor.

LIMPIEZA

Siempre desconecte el hervidor de la toma de

corriente y deje que se enfríe completamente antes

de limpiarlo.

Para protegerse contra descargas eléctricas, no

Limpie el interior y el exterior del hervidor con un

paño húmedo para limpiarlo. Se puede usar una

PROTECCIÓN EN SECO PARA HERVIR

Si no hay suﬁ ciente agua en el hervidor,

la protección para hervir en seco apagará

automáticamente el hervidor para evitar dañar el

Si esto ocurre, deje que el hervidor se enfríe

completamente antes de llenarlo con agua.

DEPÓSITOS MINERALES

El hervidor puede acumular depósitos minerales con

el tiempo. Esto es causado por minerales en el agua

del grifo que formarán una incrustación en el fondo

del hervidor después de calentar repetidamente.

No se considerará ninguna de estas garantías o seguros cuando el daño o la necesidad de reparación sea el producto de los

siguientes casos:

1) Falla del suministro eléctrico.

2) Daños en tránsito o durante el transporte de la unidad.

3) Alimentación incorrecta, como bajo voltaje, instalación eléctrica defectuosa o fusibles inadecuados.

4) Accidente, modiﬁcación, abuso o uso incorrecto del artefacto, tal como insuﬁciente ventilación del ambiente o condiciones de

operación anormales (temperatura ambiente extremadamente alta o baja).

5) Utilización comercial o industrial (v.g., si el electrodoméstico no está instalado en una vivienda particular).

6) Incendio, daños por agua, robo, guerra, disturbios, hostilidades, actos de fuerza mayor como huracanes, inundaciones, etc.

7) Pedidos de servicio debido a desinformación del usuario.

8) Instalación inadecuada (v.g., instalación de un electrodoméstico independiente o uso de un aparato al aire libre que no esté

aprobado para aplicaciones en exteriores, incluyendo pero no limitado a: garajes, patios, porches o cualquier lugar que no esté bien

aislado o controlado por el clima).

Se requerirá una prueba de la fecha de compra para reclamaciones de garantía; conservar las facturas de venta. En el caso de que

se requiera servicio de garantía, presente el comprobante de compra a nuestro depósito de servicio autorizado.
