For compatible resolutions of this product, refer to Instruction for Use "Compatible Resolutions".
2-2. Setting the Resolution
Windows 10
1. Right-click the mouse anywhere on the desktop except on icons.
2. From the displayed menu, click “Display Settings”.
3. On the "Customize your display" dialog box, click "Advanced display settings".
4. Select a monitor, then choose a resolution from the "Resolution" pull-down menu.
5. Click the "Apply" button.
6. When a conrmation dialog box is displayed, click “Keep changes”.
Windows 8.1/Windows 8/Windows 7
1. For Windows 8.1/Windows 8, click the "Desktop" tile from the Start screen.
2. Right-click the mouse anywhere on the desktop except on icons.
3. From the displayed menu, click “Screen resolution”.
4. Select a monitor, then choose a resolution from the "Resolution" pull-down menu.
5. Click the "OK" button.
6. When a conrmation dialog box is displayed, click “Keep changes”.
Note
If you want to change the size of displayed characters and other items, select "Display" from Control Panel
and change the zoom percentage.
Windows Vista
1. Right-click the mouse anywhere on the desktop except on icons.
2. From the displayed menu, click “Personalize”.
3. On the “Personalization” window, click “Display Settings”.
4. On the “Display Settings” dialog box, select the “Monitor” tab and select desired resolution in the
Resolution” eld.
5. Click the "OK" button.
6. When a conrmation dialog box is displayed, click “Yes”.
Mac OS X 10.8 and later
1. Select “System Preferences” from the Apple menu.
2. When the “System Preferences” dialog box is displayed, click “Displays”. (For Mac OS X 10.8,
click "Displays" for "Hardware".)
3. On the displayed dialog box, select the “Display” tab, then choose "Change" for “Resolutions”.
4. The list of selectable resolutions is displayed. Select the desired resolution. If the desired
resolution is not displayed in the list, hold down the Option key and select “Change”.
5. Your selection will be reected immediately.When you are satised with the selected resolution,
close the window.

Mac OS X 10.7
1. Select “System Preferences” from the Apple menu.

Selecting the display mode (CAL Switch Mode)
A desired mode can be selected easily according to the monitor application.
Display Modes
√: Calibration is available.
Mode Purpose
1-DICOM Applies gradation characteristics compliant with DICOM Part 14.
2- CAL1 Displays the screen adjusted by calibration software.
3-CAL2
4-Custom Selected for dening a desired set of parameter settings. -
5-sRGB Suitable for color matching with sRGB compatible peripherals. -
6-Text Suitable for displaying texts for word processing or spreadsheets. -
Procedure
1. Touch one of the switches (excluding ).

Performing advanced adjustments
“CAL Switch Mode” of the Adjustment menu allows you to congure and save a separate set of color
settings for each mode.
Attention
As it takes about 15 minutes for the performance of electrical parts to stabilize, adjust the monitor 15 minutes
or more after the monitor power has been turned on.
The same image may be seen in different colors on multiple monitors due to their monitor-specic
characteristics. Make ne color adjustment visually when matching colors on multiple monitors.
Note
The values shown in “%” or “K” are available only as reference.
Adjustable settings in each mode
The adjustable settings depend on the mode. (You cannot select any non-adjustable or non-settable
function.)

Adjusting Brightness
The screen brightness is adjusted by changing the brightness of the backlight (light source from the
LCD back panel).
Setting Range
0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Brightness” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
3. Use or for adjustment.
4. Select after completing the setting.
Note
If you think the image is too dark even when the brightness is set to 100%, adjust the contrast.

Enabling or disabling Hybrid Gamma PXL
When the Hybrid Gamma PXL function is enabled, this product automatically differentiates between
monochrome and color parts of the same image at a pixel level, and displays a color image using the
gamma value for color image display.
Setting value

1. Select “CAL Switch Mode” from the Setting menu, then select .
2. Select “Hybrid Gamma PXL, then .
3. Select “On” or “Off, then select .
Adjusting Contrast
The luminance of the screen is adjusted by varying the video signal level.
Setting Range
0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Contrast” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
“Contrast” appears.
3. Use or for adjustment.
4. Select after completing the setting.
Note
In the contrast of 100%, every color gradation is displayed.
When adjusting the monitor, it is recommended to perform the brightness adjustment which may not lose the
gradation characteristics, prior to the contrast adjustment.
Perform the contrast adjustment in the following case.
- If you think the image is too bright even when the brightness is set to 0% (Adjust the contrast to 100% or
less.)
Adjusting Temperature
The color temperature can be adjusted.
The color temperature is normally used to express the hue of “white” and/or “black” by a numerical
value. The value is expressed in degrees “K” (Kelvin).
The screen becomes reddish at a low color temperature, and bluish at a high color temperature, like
the ame temperature. The gain preset values are set for each color temperature setting value.

Native, 6000K to 15000K (in increments of 100K), sRGB, User

2. Select “Temperature” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .

Note
“Gain” allows you to perform more advanced adjustments (refer to Adjusting Gain” (page 12)).
If you set “Native”, the image is displayed in the preset color of the monitor (Gain: 100% for each RGB).
When gain is changed, the color temperature is changed to “User.

Adjusting Gamma
Gamma can be adjusted. The brightness of the monitor varies depending on the input signal,
however, the variation rate is not proportional to the input signal. To keep the balance between the
input signal and the brightness of the monitor is called as “Gamma correction”.
Setting Range
1.6 to 2.7, sRGB
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Gamma” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
3. Use or for adjustment.
4. Select after completing the setting.
Attention
When Hybrid Gamma PXL is set to On, the gamma value for pixels that display a color image is xed to a
value appropriate for color image display regardless of the setting.
Adjusting Hue
The hue can be adjusted.
Setting Range
-100 to 100
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Hue” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
3. Use or for adjustment.
4. Select after completing the setting.
Attention
After this adjustment, some color gradations may not be displayed.
Adjusting Saturation
The color saturation can be adjusted.
Setting Range
-100 to 100
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Saturation” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
3. Use or for adjustment.
4. Select after completing the setting.
Attention
After this adjustment, some color gradations may not be displayed.
Note
The minimum value (-100) changes the screen to monochrome.

Adjusting Gain
The brightness of each color component red, green, and blue is called Gain. You can change the hue
of “white” by adjusting gain.
Setting Range
0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Gain” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
3. Select the color for adjustment from “Red”, “Green”, and “Blue”, and choose .
4. Use or for adjustment.
5. Select after completing the setting.
Attention
After this adjustment, some color gradations may not be displayed.
Note
The value of gain changes with that of color temperature.
When gain is changed, the color temperature is changed to “User.
2-4. Selecting Screen Size
The image with the resolution other than the recommended resolution is displayed in full screen
automatically. You can change the screen size by using the “Picture Expansion” function from “Signal”.
Example: Image size 1024 x 768 (with "Portrait" graphic board setting)
Full Screen Aspect Ratio Dot by Dot
(1536 × 2048) (1536 × 1152) (1024 × 768)
Procedure
1. Select “Signal” of the Adjustment menu, and press .
2. Select "Picture Expansion" from "Signal", and press .
3. Using or , select "Full Screen", "Aspect Ratio", or "Dot by Dot".
Setting Function
Full Screen Displays an image in full screen. Images are distorted in some cases because the
vertical rate is not equal to the horizontal rate.
Aspect Ratio Displays an image in full screen. In some cases, a blank horizontal or vertical border
appears to equalize the vertical rate and the horizontal rate.
Dot by Dot Displays images with the specied resolution.
4. Press after completing the setting.

The selected input port name is displayed.
3-2. Setting Input Signal Switching Procedure
Setting Function
On The monitor recognizes the connector through which signals are input. When a PC is
turned off or enters power saving mode, the monitor automatically displays another signal.
Off The monitor displays the signal from the connector currently selected whether or not
signals are input. In this case, select the input signal to be displayed by referring to 3-1.

Procedure
1. Select “Preferences” of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Auto Input Detection” from “Preferences”, and choose .
3. Select “On” or “Off” with or .
4. Select after completing the setting.
Note
When the main power supply is turned on or off, signals are automatically detected irrespective of the setting
of this function.

3-3. Skipping Display Modes That Are Not Used
When selecting a mode, you can skip particular modes.
This setting is suitable when you are using limited display modes and you do not want to change the
customized display state.
Procedure
1. Select “Preferences” of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Mode Skip” from “Preferences”, and choose .
3. Select the mode to change with or , and choose .
4. Select "Skip" or "-" with or .
5. Select after completing the setting.
Attention
You cannot set all the modes disable. Set at least one mode to “-”.
3-4. Setting Language
A language for the Adjustment menu and messages can be selected.

1. Select “Languages” of the Adjustment menu, and choose .

3-5. Showing Monitor Information
The information about the current input signals and this product can be displayed.
Procedure
1. Select “Information” of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
The "Information" is displayed.
The input signal information, model name, serial number, rmware version, and usage time can be displayed.
(Example)
Attention
The usage time of the monitor is not always “0” at the time when you purchase it due to the operations such
as factory inspection.

3-6. Displaying or Hiding the EIZO Logo
The EIZO logo can be displayed or hidden.
Procedure
1. Touc h to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “On-Screen Logo” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select “On” or “Off” with or , and choose .
5. Select "Apply" with or .
6. Press .
The “Administrator Settings” menu is closed.
3-7. Locking Operation Switches
The adjusted/set status can be locked to prevent changing them.
Procedure
1. Touc h to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “Key Lock” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Using or , select “Off, “Menu”, or “All”, and choose .

The display direction of the image can be changed according to your environment.
Attention
Refer to the User’s Manual of the graphics board.
The setting is available even when the PC is not started up.
Procedure
1. Touc h to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “Image Rotation” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select "Portrait" or "Landscape" with or , and choose .
5. Select "Apply" with or .

3-9. Selecting the Input Signal for DDC Communication
Specify the input signal with which DDC communication is used. Use Auto normally. By using DDC
communication, you can use RadiCS LE without connecting a USB cable. (This is different from the
DDC/CI communication.)
Procedure
1. Touc h to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “DDC” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select "Off", "DVI", "DisplayPort" or "Auto" with or , and choose .
5. Select "Apply" with or .
6. Select .
The “Administrator Settings” menu is closed.
Note
When "Auto" has been selected, the DDC communication of 3-1. Switching among Input Signals” (page 13)
is enabled.
3-10. Enabling/Disabling DC5V Output
The DC5V output can be enabled/disabled. Turn off this setting normally.
Note
When using TDL3600 (optional item), turn On this setting.
Procedure
1. Select to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “DC5V Output” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select “On” or “Off” with or , and choose .
5. Select "Apply" with or .
6. Select .
The “Administrator Settings” menu is closed.

3-11. Displaying or Hiding the Grayscale Warning
When the DisplayPort signal is input in a recommended resolution, the grayscale display error message
may be displayed if the monitor detects a 6-bit (64-gradation) signal. When the error message is
displayed, turn off the main power of the monitor, and then turn it on again.
Attention
Turn "On" this setting normally (the factory default is "On").
Turn "Off" this setting only when you use the monitor in 6-bit (64-gradation).
Procedure
1. Select to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “Grayscale Warning” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select “On” or “Off” with or , and choose .
5. Select "Apply" with or .
6. Select .
The “Administrator Settings” menu is closed.
3-12. Enabling/Disabling Sharpness Recovery
Sharpening image can be enabled or disabled. Enabling it enhances the sharpness of images.
Procedure
1. Select to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “Sharpness Recovery” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select “On” or “Off” with or , and choose .
5. Select "Apply" with or .
6. Select .
The “Administrator Settings” menu is closed.
Attention
After changing the setting, perform a visual checkup based on medical standards/guidelines.

3-13. Setting the Preferred Refresh Rate
The priority of refresh rates can be dened. The "Low" refresh rate is set to 46 Hz (or 47 Hz for
landscape), and "High" is to 60 Hz.
Procedure
1. Select to turn off the monitor power.
2. While holding down the switch at the far left ( ), touch for at least two seconds to turn on the
monitor power.
The “Administrator Settings” menu appears.
3. Select “Signal Format” from “Administrator Settings”, and choose .
4. Select "DVI" with or , and choose .
5. Select “Low” or “High” with or , and choose .
6. Select "Apply" with or .
7. Select .
The “Administrator Settings” menu is closed.

Switching the DisplayPort Version between 1.2 and 1.1
The DisplayPort version can be switched.
Attention
Use version 1.2 when setting up a daisy-chain connection.
When a PC is connected to the DisplayPort connector, the screen may not be displayed depending on the PC due
to difference of the DisplayPort version. If that occurs, change this setting.
Procedure
1. Select to turn off the monitor power.

3-15. Resetting to Default
There are two different reset functions: One that only resets the color adjustments to default settings, and
the other that resets all settings to defaults.
Attention
After resetting, you cannot undo the operation.
Note
For default settings, refer to Instruction for Use "Main Default Settings".
Resetting the color adjustments
Only the color adjustment value for the currently selected mode can be reset to the default settings.
Procedure
1. Select "CAL Switch Mode" of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Reset” from “CAL Switch Mode”, and choose .
3. Select "OK" with or .
4. Select .
The color adjustments revert to the default settings.
Resetting all adjustments to defaults
All settings are reset to defaults (except the “Input” and “Administrator Settings” menus).
Procedure
1. Select “Preferences” of the Adjustment menu, and choose .
2. Select “Monitor Reset” from “Preferences”, and choose .
3. Select "OK" with or .
4. Select .
All settings excluding the “Input” and “Administrator Settings” menus are reset to defaults.
