14. Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
15. Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
16. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
17. Avoid contacting moving parts.
18. Check hopper for presence of foreign objects before using.
19. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A. A short power cord or a detachable power cord is provided to reduce the risks
of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord accidentally.
B. Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are available and may be
used if care is exercised in their use.
C. If a long detachable power cord or an extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding type 3-wire cord.
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter
where it can be pulled by children or tripped over accidentally. The appliance
may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still

Always place your coffee maker on a at, stable, heat resistant work surface
away from water splashes and any external sources of heat.

Never place your carafe or your insulated pot in a microwave oven, in a
dishwasher or on a stove top.
Do not use the carafe without the lid.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
The coffee maker shall not be placed in a cabinet when in use.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without

la terre (à 3 ls).
3) Le cordon d’alimentation doit être placé de façon à ce qu'il ne pende
pas du plan de travail, car un enfant pourrait tirer dessus ou trébucher
accidentellement. L’appareil peut être équipé d’une prise polarisée (une lame
est plus large que l’autre). Pour réduire les risques de décharges électriques,
cette che ne peut se brancher que dans un sens. Si la che ne rentre pas
correctement dans la prise murale, mettez-la dans l’autre sens. Si elle ne
rentre toujours pas, contactez un électricien. N’essayez en aucune façon de
modier la prise.

de seguridad básicas para reducir riesgos de incendio, descargas eléctricas,
y/o lesiones corporales, estas medidas incluyen las siguientes:
1. Lea todas las instrucciones antes de usar.
2. No toque las supercies calientes, use las agarraderas.
3. No sumerga el cable o el aparato en agua u otro liquido para protegerse de un
choque eléctrico.
4. Desenchufe el artefacto del tomacorriente cuando no lo esté usando y antes
de limpiarlo. Deje que el artefacto se enfríe antes de colocarle o retirarle piezas
y antes de limpiarlo. No use el aparato si el cable o enchufe esta dañado y
regrese el aparato a un Centro de Servicio autorizado KRUPS.
5. Todos los aparatos están sujetos a un riguroso control de calidad. Se llevan a

INSTRUCCIONES ESPECIALES PARA EL CABLE DE
ALIMENTACIÓN
A. Con el aparato se suministra un cable de alimentación corto para reducir el
riesgo de que alguien tropiece o se enrede accidentalmente en los pies.
B. Extensiones eléctricas pueden utilizarse teniendo precaución.
C. Si se utiliza una extensión:
1) las características eléctricas del cable o de la extensión deben ser al menos
iguales a las del aparato.
2) si el aparato es del tipo puesta a tierra, la extensión debe ser de tipo puesta
a tierra y comprender 3 enchufes y
3) el cable de alimentación o la extensión deben estar puestos de forma que
no cuelguen de borde del plano de trabajo de la mesa para que los niños no
puedan jalarlo o tropezar accidentalmente.

CLEAN THE COFFEE MAKER BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using your coffee maker for the rst time, run a brew cycle without coffee to rinse.
1. Fill the water tank with water.
2. Place the carafe on the keep warm plate.
3. Start the cycle by pushing the “ON”
button. The indicator light turns on. Then push
to run hot water through the coffee maker. Push button to turn unit off.
BREWING COFFEE
ADD WATER AND COFFEE
1. Fill the water tank with cold water to the desired water level. (fig. 1)
2. Place your carafe in the center of the heating plate. (fig.2)
Note: Do not exceed the 4-cup line when brewing into carafe. Doing so could cause carafe
to overow. There must be a minimum of 2 cups of water in the water tank to begin the
brew cycle.
3. Open the top cover by pressing the release button and lifting. (fig.3)
FOR WHOLE BEAN COFFEE:
4. Changing Grind Size - Adjust the neness of the ground coffee by aligning the removable
upper burr to the markings “1” or “2”. The grind setting is useful when you change coffee
type or if you would like a stronger or weaker coffee. (fig.4) "1" for ne grinding (stronger
coffee), "2" for coarse grinding (lighter coffee).
Add the desired amount of whole coffee beans to the whole bean container, (fig.5) then
replace the top cover. (fig.6) We recommend using the provided scoop to measure coffee.
Refer to the recipe guide for additional customization information.
Note: Provided scoop can be stored by inserting into the slot on the back left
of the coffee maker
Note: It’s normal to have few coffee beans left in the grind & brew basket after
nishing every grinding cycle.

FOR PRE-GROUND COFFEE:
5. Add the desired amount of ground coffee directly into the lter, then replace the top
cover. We recommend using the provided scoop to measure coffee. Refer to the recipe
guide below for additional customization information:
Use the provided KRUPS scoop. (one scoop is ~ 7-9 grams coffee)
One coffee cup = 5 oz. or 150ml brewed coffee.
For stronger or lighter avor, +/- scoops of coffee.
The cup markings on the water tank correlate to the water lines on the carafe and hold a
greater amount of water than the corresponding coffee lines on the carafe as some water
is absorbed by the coffee grinds during the brewing process.
The bold button
can be selected anytime while brewing, its light will go on when
activated. The BOLD setting will produce stronger coffee.

TO BREW COFFEE INTO YOUR CARAFE
WARNING: During the 30mins keep warm period, DO NOT pour water into water tank
because the heating plate is still on. You can turn off your coffee maker at any time by
pressing the
button to turn off the heater completely.
Wait several minutes after the machine stops before brewing next coffee.
Important
It is normal for there to be a small amount of coffee grounds in your cup. This is due to using
a stainless steel permanent lter.
Press the button to turn on the coffee maker. (fig.7) When the appliance is ON,
and
will ash for user selection.
1. Select to brew whole coffee beans or Press to brew with ground coffee.
Your infused coffee ows into your carafe. (g. 8)
2. When brew cycle is complete, there is a beep sound, the appliance will go to keep warm
mode for 30 minutes and will automatically shut off. During KEEP WARM mode,
ON/
OFF light will remain ON until the KEEP WARM MODE ends. (fig.9)
Note: We recommend you cool down the appliance for 20 minutes after every grinding cycle
5. To manually turn off your coffee maker, press the
button.
AUTOMATIC OFF
To save energy, your coffee maker will turn itself off automatically about 30 minutes after
the end of the coffee brewing cycle (more precisely, about 30 minutes after there is no more
water in the tank). The indicator light for the on/off will remain on until the coffee maker turns
off. Over this 30-minute period, your coffee is kept warm and at the proper temperature.

IMPORTANT: When keeping warm, the heating plate is on and at a high temperature.
CLEANING THE COFFEE MAKER BETWEEN BREW CYCLES
1. Discard used ground coffee from the lter. Rinse the lter basket and lter.
2. Wash grind & brew basket, top cover, removable at burr, and lter in warm, soapy water
and dry thoroughly. You may also wash all removable parts in a dishwasher. (fig.10-13)
Note: For safety, the coffee maker turns off when the lid is removed. As a result, the keep
warm plate will be turned off at this point.
FULL CLEANING
When needed, this coffee maker is designed to allow all parts in contact with coffee to be
removed. To remove parts for cleaning:
1. Press and hold the coffee machine lid to remove.
2. Remove stainless steel permanent coffee lter after it has cooled.
3. Turn upper burr of the grinder counter clock-wise to unlock and remove.
4. Turn the brewing chamber counter clock-wise to dislodge and remove.
Handwash all parts with warm water or place in upper rack of dishwasher machine.
Note, we recommend thoroughly remove any build-up of
coffee grinds that have formed around the grinding burrs and coffee grinds
chute after each use.
WARNING:
Do not clean the appliance when it is hot.
Clean it with a damp cloth.
Never immerse the appliance, its power cord, or its socket in water or any other liquid.
DESCALING
Descale your coffee maker about every 40 cycles.
You can use:
Either a descaling packet and follow manufacturer instruction, or:
–2 large cups of white vinegar.
–Pour the solution into the water tank (without coffee).
–Press "Brew only" button, start the brewing cycle (without coffee).
–Let the solution of one cup pour into the carafe, then turn the coffee maker off.
–Leave the solution still for an hour.
–Restart the brewing to complete the cycle.
–To rinse the machine, run 2 cycles with water but no coffee.
–Repeat the operation if necessary.
The guarantee excludes coffee makers that do not work or work poorly due to lack of
descaling.
Note: when the coffee cycle gets longer, it’s time to descale.

The Guarantee:
This product is guaranteed by KRUPS (company address and details included in the country list of the KRUPS International
Guarantee) against any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship for a period of 2 years starting from the initial date
of purchase or delivery date.
The international manufacturer’s guarantee by KRUPS is an extra benet which does not affect consumer’s Statutory Rights.
The international manufacturer’s guarantee covers all costs related to restoring the proven defective product so that it conforms
to its original specications, through the repair or replacement of any defective part and the necessary labour. At KRUPS’s
choice, a replacement product may be provided instead of repairing a defective product. KRUPS’s sole obligation and your
exclusive resolution under this guarantee are limited to such repair or replacement.
Conditions & Exclusions:
The international KRUPS guarantee only applies within the guarantee period and for those countries listed in the country
list attached and is valid only on presentation of a proof of purchase. The product can be taken directly in person to an
authorised service centre or must be adequately packaged and returned, by recorded delivery (or equivalent method of
postage), to a KRUPS authorised service centre. Full address details for each country’s authorised service centres are listed
on KRUPS website (www.krups.com) or by calling the appropriate telephone number as set out in the country list to request
the appropriate postal address.
KRUPS shall not be obliged to repair or replace any product which is not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase.
This guarantee will not cover any damage which occurs as a result of misuse, negligence, failure to follow KRUPS instructions,
use on current or voltage other than as stamped on the product, or a modication or unauthorised repair of the product. It also
does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance or replacement of consumable parts, or the following:
– using the wrong type of water or consumable
– damage as a result of lightning or power surges
– scaling (any de-scaling must be carried out according to the instructions for use)
– damages or poor results due to wrong voltage or frequency
– professional or commercial use
– ingress of water, dust or insects into the product (excluding appliances with features specically designed for insects)
– mechanical damages, overloading
– accidents including re, ood, thunderbolt, etc
– damage to any glass or porcelain ware in the product
This guarantee does not apply to any product that has been tampered with, or to damages incurred through improper use and
care, faulty packaging by the owner or mishandling by any carrier.
In order to offer the best possible after-sales service and constantly improve customer satisfaction, KRUPS may send a
satisfaction survey to all customers who have had their product repaired or exchanged in a KRUPS authorised service centre.
The international KRUPS guarantee applies only for products purchased in one of the countries listed, and used for domestic
purposes only in one of the countries listed on the Country List. Where a product purchased in one listed country and then
used in another listed country:
a. The international KRUPS guarantee does not apply in case of non conformity of the purchased product with the local
standards, such as voltage, frequency, power plugs, or other local technical specications
b. The repair process for products purchased outside the country of use may require a longer time if the product is not
locally sold by KRUPS
c. In cases where the product is not repairable in the new country, the international KRUPS guarantee is limited to a
replacement by a similar product or an alternative product at similar cost, where possible.
Consumer Statutory Rights:
This international KRUPS guarantee does not affect the statutory rights a consumer may have or those rights that cannot be
excluded or limited, nor rights against the retailer from which the consumer purchased the product. This guarantee gives a
consumer specic legal rights, and the consumer may also have other legal rights which vary from State to State or Country to

NETTOYEZ LA CAFETIÈRE AVANT LA PREMIÈRE
UTILISATION
Avant d'utiliser votre cafetière pour la première fois, effectuez un cycle sans café pour bien
rincer.
1. Remplissez le réservoir d’eau.
2. Placez la carafe sur la plaque de maintien au chaud.
3. Commencez le cycle en appuyant sur le bouton « ON/OFF (marche/arrêt) »
. Le voyant
lumineux s’allumera. Appuyez ensuite sur le bouton
pour faire couler de l'eau
chaude dans la cafetière. Appuyez sur le bouton
pour éteindre l'appareil.
INFUSION DU CAFÉ
AJOUTER L'EAU ET LE CAFÉ
1. Remplissez le réservoir uniquement avec de l'eau froide et fermez le couvercle (ill.1).
2. Placez votre carafe au centre de la plaque chauffante (ill.2).
Remarque : ne dépassez pas la ligne des 4 tasses lorsque vous faites une infusion. Cela
pourrait faire déborder la carafe. Il doit y avoir un minimum de 2 tasses d'eau dans le
réservoir d'eau pour commencer le cycle d'infusion.
3. Ouvrez le couvercle supérieur en appuyant sur le bouton de déverrouillage et en le
soulevant (ill.3).
POUR LE CAFÉ EN GRAINS ENTIERS :
4. Modication de la taille de la mouture : ajustez la nesse du café moulu en alignant la
meule amovible supérieure sur les repères « 1 » ou « 2 ». Le réglage de la nesse de mouture
est utile lorsque vous changez de sorte de café ou si vous voulez un café plus ou moins
corsé. Choisissez le repère « 1 » pour la mouture ne (café corsé), « 2 » pour la mouture
grossière (café plus léger) (ill.4).
Ajoutez la quantité désirée de grains de café entiers dans le récipient à grains entiers (ill.5),
puis replacez le couvercle supérieur (ill.6). Nous vous recommandons d'utiliser la cuillère
fournie pour mesurer le café. Reportez-vous au guide de recettes pour savoir comment
personnaliser votre cafetière.
Remarque : la cuillère fournie peut être rangée en l'insérant dans la fente située
à l'arrière et à gauche de la cafetière.

UTILISEZ UNIQUEMENT DU CAFÉ MOULU
5. Ajoutez la quantité souhaitée de café moulu directement dans le ltre, puis replacez le
couvercle supérieur. Nous vous recommandons d'utiliser la cuillère fournie pour mesurer le
café. Reportez-vous au guide de recettes ci-dessous pour savoir comment personnaliser
votre cafetière :
Utilisez la cuillère KRUPS fournie (une mesure correspond à environ 7 à 9 grammes de
café).
Une tasse de café = 150 ml de café infusé.
Pour une saveur plus forte ou plus légère, augmentez ou diminuez le nombre de cuillerées
de café.
Le nombre de tasses marqué sur le réservoir correspond au nombre de tasses marqué
sur la carafe, mais la quantité d’eau contenue dans le réservoir est supérieure à la quantité
de café qui sera contenue dans la carafe, car de l'eau est absorbée par le café moulu
pendant le processus d'infusion.
Le bouton
peut être sélectionné à tout moment pendant la préparation, son voyant
s’allumera s’il est activé. Le réglage « BOLD » (corsé) produira un café plus fort.

POUR FAIRE INFUSER DU CAFÉ
AVERTISSEMENT : pendant la période de maintien au chaud de 30 minutes, NE
VERSEZ PAS d'eau dans le réservoir d'eau car la plaque chauffante est toujours
allumée.
Vous pouvez éteindre complètement la cafetière à tout moment durant le cycle d'infusion
en appuyant sur le bouton

Attendez plusieurs minutes après l’arrêt de la machine avant de préparer le café suivant.
Important
Il est normal qu'il y ait une petite quantité de café moulu dans votre tasse. Cela est dû à
l'utilisation d'un ltre permanent en acier inoxydable.
Appuyez sur le bouton
pour allumer la cafetière (ill.7). Lorsque l'appareil est en marche,
les boutons et clignotent pour permettre la sélection.
