12. If the hour meter registers a voltage that is too high, stop the
generator, disconnect all appliances and examine the generator for
the cause of the malfunction.
13. When using the AC and DC electrical output at the same time, do
not exceed the maximum output of the generator.
14. The DC terminal may be used for charging 12-volt automatic-type
batteries only. Disconnect the negative pole battery cable from the
battery when setting up to charge the battery. Do not reverse the
charging cables. Serious damage to the generator and/or battery
may occur.
15. Ensure a skilled electrician connects the generator when
incorporating the generator into a home power circuit. A properly
installed transfer switch is required. An improper connection can
damage the house’s electrical system, generator and any attached
appliances or cause a fire.
TURN OFF THE GENERATOR
1. Turn the fuel valve knob to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect all devices from the generator.
3. Push the start button. The engine will shut off.
4. Push the Battery ON/Off Switch to the Off position.
IMPORTANT! To stop the generator in an emergency, press
the start button to shut down the generator.
ENGINE OVERLOAD INDICATOR
The overload indicator glows when the connected electrical devices
exceeds the generator’s wattage/amperage capacity or by a power
surge. The engine continues to run, but power is no longer supplied to
the outlets until the generator is reset.
The engine overload indicator light may turn on for a few seconds when
attaching a load due to a power surge. This is normal.
LOW OIL SHUTDOWN
The low oil shutdown system is designed to prevent engine damage
caused by an insufficient amount of oil in the crankcase. Before the oil
level in the crankcase can fall below a safe limit, the low oil shutdown
system will automatically stop the engine (the engine switch will remain
in the ON position). The low oil shutdown system should not take the
