PRÉSENTATION
Prenez soin de votre instrument
1. Evitez de le placer dans des endroits
trop humides, trop chauds ou trop
poussiéreux.
2. Ne placez aucun objet lourd sur
l’instrument et ne le soumettez à aucun
choc physique.
3. N’utilisez aucun produit chimique de type
benzène ou diluant pour nettoyer l’unité.
Alimentation électrique
Vous pouvez alimenter l’instrument par
piles ou adaptateur secteur (aucun des deux
n’est fourni). Suivez les instructions décrites
ci-dessous.
Emploi de piles
6 piles alcalines de taille C (SUM-2 ou R-14)
ou équivalent doivent d’abord être installées
dans le compartiment des piles.
1. Ouvrez le compartiment des piles situé
sous l’instrument.
2. Insérez les piles en respectant les
indications de polarité marquées sur
l’instrument.
3. Replacez le capot du compartiment en
vous assurant qu’il est bien bloqué.
ATTENTION :
• Ne mélangez pas des piles neuves et
anciennes.
• Utilisez toujours des piles du même type.
• Pensez toujours à retirer les piles de
l’instrument quand celui-ci n’est pas utilisé
durant une période prolongée.
Emploi de l’adaptateur secteur
Un adaptateur secteur est nécessaire si
vous voulez utiliser le courant électrique
domestique. L’adaptateur doit avoir une
sortie CC 9 V, 500 mA, avec broche centrale
positive. Veillez à éteindre l’appareil avant de
brancher l’adaptateur dans la prise secteur
et son cordon à l’appareil. Cela coupera
automatiquement l’alimentation par piles.
IMPORTANT :
1. L’adaptateur peut chauffer en cours
d’utilisation. C’est normal et n’est pas dû à
un problème.
2. Veuillez débrancher l’adaptateur de la
prise d’alimentation quand vous n’utilisez
pas l’appareil.
3. N’utilisez jamais une alimentation ne
correspondant pas aux caractéristiques
spécifiées pour l’instrument.
Branchement d’un casque
ou d’un amplificateur
Un casque peut être branché en prise
PHONES située à l’arrière de l’appareil.
Le système de haut-parleurs sera
automatiquement coupé quand un casque
sera branché dans cette prise.
Branchez un cordon audio dans la prise
PHONES. Puis branchez l’autre extrémité du
cordon en entrée ligne (LINE IN) ou auxiliaire
(AUX IN) de l’amplificateur.
JEU AU CLAVIER
1. Pour allumer le clavier, réglez
l’interrupteur d’alimentation sur [ON].
L’écran s’allume.
Remarque : pour vous rappeler
d’économiser l’énergie durant le
fonctionnement, le clavier produit
automatiquement un son si vous n’avez
pressé aucune touche durant 2 minutes.
2. Réglez le volume au niveau désiré.
Appuyez répétitivement sur les boutons
[VOLUME +/-] pour augmenter ou diminuer
le volume. Le volume du clavier se règle
entre 0 (pas de son) et 10 (maximum) et le
niveau de volume actuel est affiché.
Lecture d’une démonstration
Vous pouvez écouter n’importe lequel des
50 morceaux dans la liste se trouvant sur la
droite de la façade.

1. Appuyez sur [SONG] (morceau). L’écran
affiche song et le numéro du morceau
actuel.
Remarque : le clavier sélectionne toujours
le morceau “Canon” (N° 01) chaque fois
que vous le mettez sous tension.
2. Choisissez un morceau dans la liste
des morceaux en tapant son numéro à
deux chiffres sur le pavé numérique.
Sinon, vous pouvez appuyer sur
[–] ou
[+] pour passer au morceau de numéro
immédiatement inférieur ou supérieur.
3. Appuyez sur
[START/STOP] pour lancer la
lecture du morceau.
• Une “partition” affiche les notes qui sont
jouées (centre de l’écran).
• Un “clavier” vous montre le doigté et les
touches jouées (bas de l’écran).
• Des blanches, croches, demis-croches,
etc. apparaissent près du numéro de
morceau pour indiquer le décompte des
temps dans la mesure.
• Le nom d’accord est affiché en haut à
gauche de l’écran.
4. Pour changer le tempo, pressez
répétitivement [TEMPO +] ou [TEMPO –].
Le réglage de tempo actuel apparaît.
5. Pour changer de morceau, répétez l’étape
2. Pour arrêter, appuyez sur [START/STOP].
Emploi du bouton DEMO
Pour reproduire les morceaux de démonstration
un par un (dans l’ordre, à partir du point de
démarrage choisi), appuyez sur [DEMO]. Pour
stopper la démonstration, appuyez de nouveau
sur [DEMO].
Sélection/Jeu d’un son préprogrammé
Votre clavier peut produire le son de
50 instruments de musique différents. Le
nom et le numéro à deux chiffres de chaque
son préprogrammé sont indiqués dans la
liste des sons en façade du clavier.
Remarque : Le clavier a une polyphonie de
8 notes (maximum). Cela signifie que vous
pouvez produire jusqu’à 8 notes différentes
en même temps avec la plupart des sons
préprogrammés du clavier.
1. Appuyez sur
[VOICE] (son). VOICE et le
numéro de son actuel apparaîtront.
Remarque : Chaque fois que vous
mettez le clavier sous tension, il
sélectionne le son Grand PIANO (n°01)
automatiquement.
2. Pour changer de son, choisissez un son
préprogrammé dans la liste VOICES et
saisissez son numéro à deux chiffres
avec le pavé numérique. Quand vous
avez appuyé sur les boutons, les chiffres
sélectionnés apparaissent. Par exemple,
pour sélectionner VIBRAPHONE (n°06),
appuyez sur “0” et sur “6” et le son “06”
apparaîtra.
Sinon, vous pouvez utiliser les boutons
[+] ou [–] pour accéder au numéro de son
immédiatement supérieur ou inférieur.
3. Jouez au clavier pour entendre le son
sélectionné.
4. Pour changer de son, répétez les étapes
1 et 2.
Sélection/Jeu d’un style automatique
Votre clavier a 30 styles automatiques
préprogrammés qui fournissent une solide
rythmique à votre musique. Le nom et le
numéro à deux chiffres de chaque style
automatique préprogrammé sont donnés
dans la liste des styles en façade du clavier.
1. Appuyez sur [STYLE]. STYLE et le numéro
du style actuel apparaissent.
Remarque : Chaque fois que vous mettez
le clavier sous tension, il sélectionne le
style DISCO 1 (n°01) automatiquement.
2. Pour changer de style, choisissez un
style automatique dans la liste STYLES
et saisissez son numéro à deux chiffres
avec le pavé numérique. Sinon, pressez
répétitivement [+] ou [–] pour accéder
au style de numéro immédiatement
supérieur ou inférieur. Par exemple,
sélectionnez 03 pour obtenir DANCE

(n°03) en appuyant sur “0” et sur “3”, et le
style 03 apparaîtra.
3. Appuyez sur
[START/STOP] pour lancer le
style automatique sélectionné.
4. Pour changer le tempo, pressez
répétitivement
[TEMPO +] ou [TEMPO –] le
réglage de tempo actuel apparaîtra.
5. Pour changer de style, répétez les étapes
1 et 2.
6. Pour stopper le style automatique,
appuyez à nouveau sur [START/STOP].
Remarque :
Vous pouvez régler le tempo de jeu d’un style
automatique de 40 à 240 battements par
minute. Pour ramener le tempo à sa valeur
par défaut (d’origine), appuyez en même
temps sur
[TEMPO +]et [TEMPO–].
Emploi de la synchronisation
Cette fonction vous permet de synchroniser
le démarrage d’un style automatique avec
le début de votre jeu au clavier. Après avoir
sélectionné un style automatique, appuyez
sur [SYNC/FILL-IN]. Les points noirs sous
le tempo et le métronome clignotent pour
indiquer que le clavier est en mode d’attente.
Commencez à jouer au clavier. L’instrument
démarre automatiquement la production du
style quand vous pressez une touche.
Emploi de transition
Cette fonction vous permet d’insérer une
courte variation ou “fill-in” (une à deux
mesures) dans le motif rythmique du
style automatique sélectionné. Appuyez
simplement sur [SYNC/FILL-IN] pendant que
le style automatique est lu. L’instrument
insère une variation, puis le style d’origine
reprend automatiquement à la fin de la
mesure de transition. Sinon, pour insérer
une variation plus longue, maintenez
enfoncé [SYNC/FILL-IN]. L’instrument jouera
une variation jusqu’à ce que vous relâchiez
[SYNC/FILL-IN].
Emploi de l’accompagnement
automatique
Les 19 touches les plus à gauche du clavier
et portant des noms de note au-dessus sont
les touches dites “d’accompagnement”.
Ces touches d’accompagnement que vous
enfoncez déterminent le type d’accord
produit. Vous pouvez régler le clavier
pour jouer sans accompagnement ou
avec deux types d’accompagnement
automatique différents utilisant les touches
d’accompagnement pressées.
• Normal – mode normal. Les accords sont
désactivés (mais vous pouvez sélectionner
le son et le style).
• S. Finger – mode de doigté simplifié.
Vous permet de produire des accords
en utilisant un doigté simplifié sur les
touches d’accompagnement (voir “Doigté
simplifié”).
• Fingered – mode de doigté standard.
Vous permet de jouer les accords sur les
touches d’accompagnement en enfonçant
trois notes ou plus. Le nom d’accord
s’affiche. Le nombre de touches que
vous pressez détermine le type d’accord
produit.
Remarque : Par défaut, Votre clavier est en
mode normal. Suivez les étapes de “Doigté
simplifié” ou “Doigté standard” pour le
régler en mode d’accompagnement.
Doigté simplifié
1. Appuyez répétitivement sur [CHORD]
jusqu’à ce qu’un point noir apparaisse à
côté de S. FINGER (Single Fingering ou
doigté simplifié) à gauche de l’écran.
2. Appuyez sur [STYLE].
3. Saisissez un numéro de style automatique
à deux chiffres.
4. Pour lancer le style automatique avant
l’accompagnement, appuyez sur [START/
STOP]. Sinon, pour synchroniser le
démarrage du rythme automatique

sélectionné avec votre accompagnement,
appuyez sur [SYNC/FILL-IN].
5. Lancez l’accompagnement au moment
voulu en appuyant sur les touches
d’accompagnement désirées.
6. Pour jouer une mélodie conjointement
à l’accompagnement, jouez n’importe
quelles touches sur la droite.
7. Réglez le tempo et le volume sur la valeur
désirée.
8. Pour changer d’accord sans interrompre
le style, pressez simplement les touches
d’accompagnement automatique requises
pour former le nom de l’accord. Le nom
de l’accord apparaîtra. Pour stopper
l’accompagnement automatique sans
arrêter le style automatique, appuyez
répétitivement sur
[CHORD] pour que le
point noir apparaisse face à NORMAL
dans l’écran. Sinon, pour stopper
l’accompagnement automatique et le style
automatique, appuyez sur [START/STOP].
Doigté standard
Cette méthode utilise le jeu normal
d’accord à trois notes ou plus et permet au
musicien expérimenté de jouer une plus
grande variété d’accompagnements. Suivez
ces étapes pour lancer l’accompagnement
automatique à doigté standard :
1. Appuyez répétitivement sur [CHORD] pour
qu’un point noir apparaisse à côté de
FINGERED du côté gauche de l’écran.
2. Suivez les étapes 2-8 comme pour le
doigté simplifié.
Apprentissage du jeu
La fonction d’apprentissage de votre
clavier permet au débutant d’apprendre
et d’interpréter facilement un morceau
préenregistré. Vous pouvez sélectionner
n’importe lesquels des modes suivants :
• ONE KEY (une touche)
Dans ce mode, appuyez sur [START/STOP]
et n’importe quelle touche fera jouer
l’accompagnement et une note de la
mélodie. La note apparaîtra.
• MELODY GUIDE
Dans ce mode, la mélodie ne joue pas tant
que vous ne jouez pas la bonne note. La
note suivante dans le morceau apparaît.
• MELODY OFF (Mélodie désactivée)
Ici, c’est à vous de jouer la mélodie
par-dessus l’accompagnement.
Suivez ces étapes pour régler le mode
d’apprentissage :
1. Appuyez sur
[SONG] puis appuyez
répétitivement sur [LEARN] jusqu’à ce
qu’un point noir apparaisse à côté de ONE
KEY sur le côté droit de l’écran.
2. Choisissez un morceau dans la liste
SONGS et saisissez son numéro à deux
chiffres.
3. Appuyez sur [START/STOP]. L’instrument
joue la première note du morceau
sélectionné et la note apparaît. Appuyez
sur la touche correspondante du clavier
pour continuer l’apprentissage. La
note suivante à presser apparaîtra. Le
morceau continuera de jouer même si
vous pressez la mauvaise touche.
4. Pour stopper l’apprentissage, appuyez à
nouveau sur [START/STOP] ou sur [LEARN].
Si vous avez appuyé sur [LEARN], un point
noir apparaît à côté de MELODY GUIDE et
une note apparaît. Appuyez sur la touche
correcte pour continuer l’apprentissage.
Le morceau ne se poursuit pas tant que
vous ne jouez pas la note correcte. Si
vous voulez jouer ce morceau en mode
d’apprentissage avec l’accompagnement,
appuyez répétitivement sur [LEARN]
jusqu’à ce qu’un point noir apparaisse
à côté de MELODY OFF. Si vous désirez
quitter le mode d’apprentissage, appuyez
répétitivement sur [LEARN] ]jusqu’à ce
que le point noir apparaisse à côté de
NORMAL.

Emploi du métronome
Pour activer le métronome de l’instrument,
appuyez sur [VOICE] ou [STYLE], puis sur
[METRONOME]. La barre du métronome
bat le tempo sélectionné et le temps
correspondant apparaît. Appuyez à nouveau
sur [METRONOME] pour désactiver le
métronome.
Réglage des temps (Beat)
Quand le métronome est activé, appuyez
plusieurs fois sur [BEAT] jusqu’à ce que
vous entendiez le nombre de temps désiré.
9 formats de mesure (00.02-09) sont
disponibles et peuvent être sélectionnés en
boucle. Le nombre de temps apparaît.
FONCTIONS SPÉCIALES
Enregistrement
Vous pouvez enregistrer une séquence
d’une longueur pouvant atteindre 37 notes.
1. Appuyez sur
[RECORD] pour lancer
l’enregistrement. RECORD s’affiche.
2. Jouez les notes à enregistrer.
3. Appuyez sur
[PLAY] pour lire les notes
enregistrées. PLAY s’affiche.
4. Pour couper l’enregistrement, appuyez à
nouveau sur
[RECORD], RECORD disparaît.
Remarque : Si l’instrument n’est plus
alimenté, l’enregistrement est désactivé et
tout enregistrement effectué est effacé.
Emploi de la configuration instantanée
(O.T.S.)
La fonction de configuration instantanée de
votre clavier vous permet de sélectionner
automatiquement un son préprogrammé
correspondant bien au style automatique
sélectionné. Suivez ces étapes pour
l’activer :
1. Appuyez sur [STYLE].
2. Saisissez un numéro de style automatique
à deux chiffres.
3. Appuyez sur [O.T.S.]. O.T.S. apparaîtra.
4. Appuyez sur [VOICE]. Le son
préprogrammé correspondant au style
automatique sélectionné apparaîtra.
Pour quitter cette fonction, appuyez sur
[O.T.S]. et O.T.S. disparaîtra.
Emploi du sustain
Pour plus de flexibilité et de contrôle quand
vous jouez de la musique, vous pouvez régler
le clavier pour qu’il maintienne le son. Pour
maintenir les notes que vous jouez, appuyez
sur [SUSTAIN]. SUSTAIN apparaîtra et le
clavier maintiendra les notes jouées jusqu’à
ce que vous relâchiez [SUSTAIN].
Appuyez à nouveau sur [SUSTAIN] pour
désactiver cette fonction de maintien.
Pads de percussion
Emploi des pads de percussion
Les pads de percussion de votre clavier
placent sous vos doigts le son de 5
instruments de percussion différents (grosse
caisse, caisse claire, charleston ouverte, tom
aigu et charleston fermée).
Pour jouer d’un pad de percussion, pressez
simplement le pad désiré au moment voulu.
Le clavier déclenche le son de percussion
chaque fois que vous pressez le pad.
Affectation d’un son à un pad de percussion
Vous pouvez assigner n’importe lequel des
sons de percussion disponibles à un pad
de percussion. Cela permet de rapidement
sélectionner et jouer n’importe quel son de
percussion que le clavier peut produire.
Remarque : L’instrument efface tout son
affecté à un pad de percussion quand
vous l’éteignez. Suivez ces étapes pour
enregistrer et reproduire un son de pad de
percussion :
1. Appuyez sur [VOICE] et saisissez 5 0 sur le
pavé numérique.
2. Sélectionnez le son que vous voulez en
appuyant sur n’importe laquelle des 16
touches blanches en milieu de clavier
jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez le son
voulu.

3. Quand vous entendez le son à enregistrer,
maintenez enfoncé le pad de percussion
auquel vous voulez affecter ce son et
pressez la touche blanche.
4. Jouez sur le pad de percussion pour
entendre le son affecté.
Transposition
Le clavier sélectionne automatiquement la
tonalité de do à chaque mise sous tension.
Pour plus de souplesse, vous pourrez
transposer cette tonalité sur 12 niveaux
(+6 – -6). Vous pouvez librement régler la
transposition à l’aide des boutons [X’POSER].
Pour transposer la tonalité du clavier,
appuyez sur
[X’POSER +] pour augmenter d’un
demi-ton, ou sur [X’POSER –] pour diminuer
d’un demi-ton. Pour ramener la tonalité du
clavier à sa valeur par défaut, appuyez en
même temps sur
[X’POSER +] et [X’POSER –].
Emploi du MIDI
La norme MIDI (Musical Instrument
Digital Interface ou interface numérique
pour instrument de musique en français)
est à la fois un langage et une interface
numérique qui est devenu le standard
mondial permettant à plusieurs instruments
électroniques, ordinateurs et autres
périphériques de communiquer entre eux et
de s’échanger des données.
Le port de sortie MIDI (MIDI OUT) transmet
les données MIDI à un appareil MIDI externe.
Les instruments communiquent entre eux
par l’envoi de messages (ou de données)
MIDI. L’instrument émetteur assigne les
données à l’un des 16 canaux MIDI, puis les
transmet à l’instrument récepteur à l’aide
d’un câble MIDI. Le câble, en lui-même, n’est
pas divisé en 16 fils différents ; c’est donc à
l’instrument récepteur d’être réglé sur le
bon canal MIDI, à la manière d’un téléviseur
qui reçoit différents programmes sur
différents canaux depuis une même antenne.
Si les canaux d’émission et de réception ne
correspondent pas, l’instrument récepteur
ne peut pas comprendre et encore moins
interpréter les messages de l’instrument
émetteur.
Branchement à un PC
1. Eteignez le clavier et le PC.
2. Reliez le clavier et le PC à l’aide d’un
adaptateur MIDI (avec une fiche MIDI 5
broches d’un côté et 15 broches de l’autre).
3. Allumez le clavier et le PC. Veillez à régler
le volume à son minimum en utilisant le
bouton [VOLUME–].
4. Pour sélectionner le canal MIDI sur lequel
vous souhaitez transmettre les données
MIDI (01-16), appuyez sur le bouton MIDI
plusieurs fois jusqu’à ce que le canal MIDI
voulu s’affiche à l’écran.
5. Vous pouvez jouer sur les touches du
clavier. La musique que vous jouez sort
sur les haut-parleurs de votre PC.

REMARQUE :
• Votre PC doit être équipé d’une carte son,
d’une paire d’enceintes et d’un logiciel MIDI
installé.
• Aucune information concernant les styles
automatiques, le morceau préenregistré,
le sustain et la transposition ne sera
envoyée sous forme de messages MIDI.
Connexion à un appareil externe
Pour que deux instruments MIDI
communiquent entre eux, ils doivent être
reliés par des câbles MIDI. Dans un exemple
de base, la prise MIDI OUT de ce clavier doit
être reliée à la prise MIDI IN d’un séquenceur
pour vous permettre d’enregistrer les
données de jeu sortant de ce clavier.

INTRODUCTION
Taking care of your instrument
1. Do not place or store the instrument in
extremely damp, hot or dusty places.
2. Avoid placing heavy objects on the
instrument or exposing it to physical
shocks.
3. Do not use any chemical agents to clean
its surface such as benzene or thinners.
Power supply
This instrument can be powered with
batteries or with an DC adaptor (none of
these are included). Follow the instructions
below.
Batteries
Firstly, insert 6 C-size alkaline batteries
(SUM-2 or R-14) in the battery holder.
1. Open the battery holder located under the
instrument.
2. Insert the batteries and make sure you
respect the polarity indicated on the
instrument.
3. Put the battery cover back on and make
sure it is closed correctly.
WARNING:
• Do not use old and new batteries together.
• Always use batteries of the same type.
• Always remember to remove the batteries
when the instrument is not to be used for
an extended period of time.
DC adaptor
Use an DC adaptor whenever you want to
use domestic electrical power. The DC
adaptor must have a DC 9V, 500mA output,
with a positive central pin. Make sure the
instrument is turned off before connecting
the DC adaptor in the wall outlet and its
supply cord to the instrument. This will
automatically bypass the batteries.
IMPORTANT:
• When used, the DC adaptor can generate
heat. This is normal.
• Please disconnect the DC adaptor from the
wall outlet when the instrument is not in
use.
Never use a type of power supply that does
not correspond to the one specified for the
instrument.
Connecting headphones
or an amplifier
• Headphones can be plugged into the
PHONES connector on the rear of the
instrument.
• The internal speaker is automatically
disconnected when headphones are
plugged into that jack output.
• Plug an audio cable into the PHONES
connector, and then plug the other end
of the cable into the LINE IN or AUX IN
connector of the amplifier.
PLAYING THE KEYBOARD
1. To turn the keyboard on, move the [POWER]
switch to the “ON” position. The display
lights up.
Note: To help you remember to save
power while the instrument is on, the
keyboard produces a sound automatically
if you have not pressed a key for
2 minutes.
2. Adjust the volume to the desired level.
Press the [VOLUME +/-] button repeatedly
to increase or decrease it, from 0 (no
sound) to 10 (maximum level). The level
currently selected is displayed.
Playing a demo
You can listen to any of the 50 songs listed on
the right-hand side of the front panel.
1. Press the [SONG] button. “SONG” and
the current song number appear on the
display.
Note: The keyboard selects the song

“Canon” (No1) automatically each time you
switch it on.
2. Select a song in the Song List by entering
its 2-digit number on the keypad.You can
also press the
[+] or [–] button to select
the next song up or down in the list.
3. Press the [START/STOP] button to play
the song.
• A “score” displays the notes played
(center of the display).
• A “keyboard” shows you the fingering
and the keys pressed (bottom of the
display).
• Whole note, half note, quarter note,
etc. symbols appear next to the song
number to show how many beats there
are in each bar.
• The chord name is indicated in the top
left corner of the display.
4. Press [TEMPO+] or [TEMPO-] repeatedly
to modify the tempo value. The current
tempo value appears on the display.
5. Repeat Step 2 to choose a different song.
Press the [START/STOP] button to stop the
song.
Demo button
Press the [DEMO] button to play the
demonstration songs one after the other (in
order, from the starting point you chose).
Press the [DEMO] button again to stop the
playback.
Selecting/playing a preset voice
Your keyboard can reproduce the sounds of
50 different musical instruments. The name
and 2-digit number of each preset voice is
indicated in the Voice list on the keyboard
front panel.
Note: The keyboard has a polyphony of a
maximum of 8 notes. This means you can
play up to 8 notes simultaneously with most
of the keyboard’s preset voices.
1. Press the
[VOICE] button. VOICE and the
currently selected voice number are
displayed.
Note: Each time you switch the keyboard
on, the Grand Piano (No 01) voice is loaded
automatically.
2. To choose a different voice, select a preset
voice from the VOICE list and enter its
2-digit number on the keypad. When you
press the keys, the corresponding ciphers
appear on the display. For example, in
order to select VIBRAPHONE (06), press
“0”, then “6” and the voice “06” appears on
the display.
You can also use the [+] or [–] button to
select the voice immediately above or
below in the list.
3. Play the keyboard and you will hear the
voice you have selected.
4. To choose a different voice, repeat steps
1 and 2.
Selecting/playing a preset style
Your keyboard offers 30 preset styles
from which to choose to serve as a strong
rhythmic basis for your own performance.
The name and 2-digit number of each style is
listed on the keyboard front panel.
1. Press the [STYLE] button. STYLE and
the current style number appear on the
display.
Note: Each time you switch the keyboard
on, the style DISCO 1 (No 01) is loaded
automatically.
2. To select a different style, choose a style
from the STYLE list and type its number
on the keypad. You can also press the [+]
or [–] button repeatedly to select previous
or following styles. For example, select
03 to load DANCE (No 03) by pressing “0”,
then “3”. The style 03 is then selected.
3. Press the [START/STOP] button to start
playing the selected style.
4. Press the [TEMPO-] or [TEMPO+] button
repeatedly to modify the tempo value. The
current tempo value is indicated on the
display.
5. To select a different style, repeat steps 1
and 2.

6. Press the [START/STOP] button again to
stop the style playback.
Note: The tempo of a style can be adjusted
from 40 to 240 beats per minute. To reset the
tempo to its default value, press the
[TEMPO-]
and [TEMPO+] buttons simultaneously.
Synchronization
This feature allows you to synchronize the
beginning of a style with the beginning of
your performance on the keyboard.
Once you have selected a style, press the
[SYNC/FILL-IN] button. The numbers in black
under the tempo value and the metronome
start flashing, meaning the keyboard is in
waiting mode.
Start playing on the keyboard. The style
starts automatically as soon as you press a
key.
Fill-In
This feature allows you to insert a short
variation or fill-in (one or two measures long)
in the rhythm pattern of the selected preset
style.
Simply press the
[SYNC/FILL-IN] button
during style playback. The instrument
inserts a variation. The original style is
resumed automatically at the end of the
variation measure. If you want to insert
a longer variation, hold down the [SYNC/
FILL-IN] button. The variation will be played
until you release the [SYNC/FILL-IN] button.
Auto Bass Chord
The 19 keys to the left of the keyboard with
note indications (A, B, C…) above them are
called “Accompaniment” keys. When you
press them, you determine the type of chord
you play.
You can set the keyboard to play without
any accompaniment or with 2 different
types of accompaniment when pressing the
accompaniment keys.
• Normal – Normal mode.
Chords are deactivated in this mode (you
can however select voice and style).
• S. Finger – Single Finger mode.
In this mode, the accompaniment keys
trigger chords using the simplified
fingering detection mode (see «Simplified
fingering»).
• Fingered – Standard fingering mode.
Allows you to play chords with the
accompaniment keys by pressing three
or more keys of a given chord. The chord
name is indicated on the display. The
number of keys you press determines the
chord type.
Note: By default, the keyboard is set
to Normal mode. Follow the steps
indicated in “Simplified fingering” or
“Standard fingering” to set the mode of
accompaniment that will best suit your
needs.
Simplified fingering
1. Press the [CHORD] button repeatedly
until a black indicator appears next to
S.FINGER (Single or Simplified Fingering)
to the left of the display.
2. Press the [STYLE] button.
3. Enter a 2-digit preset style number.
4. To start the accompaniment before the
style, press the [START/STOP] button.
Otherwise, if you want to synchronize the
beginning of the preset rhythm with your
accompaniment, press the [SYNC/FILL-IN]
button.
5. To start the accompaniment, press one of
the accompaniment keys at the desired
moment.
6. You can play a melody on top of the
accompaniment by pressing any of the
keys on the right of the keyboard.
7. Adjust the tempo and volume values to
your liking.
8. To change chord without stopping the
style execution, simply press the required
Auto Bass Chord keys to name the desired

chord. The chord name is displayed. To
stop the accompaniment without stopping
the preset style, press the
[CHORD] button
repeatedly so that the black indicator
faces NORMAL on the display. Otherwise,
press the
[START/STOP] button again to
stop both accompaniment and style.
Standard fingering
The Standard fingering method uses the
standard 3 notes or more type of play. This
allows practiced musicians to play a wider
range of accompaniment chords. Follow the
steps indicated below to activate the Auto
Bass Chord in Standard fingering mode.
1. Press the [CHORD] button repeatedly
until a black indicator appears next to
FINGERED on the left of the display.
2. Follow steps 2-8 as indicated in Simplified
fingering above.
Learning mode
The keyboard learning mode helps beginners
to learn the preset songs easily. You have
three learning modes from which to choose:
• ONE KEY – In this mode, press the [START/
STOP] button and any key will trigger
the accompaniment and a note from
the melody. The note is indicated on the
display.
• MELODY GUIDE – In this mode, the melody
is not played until you press the correct
key. Then the following note in the song
appears on the display.
• MELODY OFF – In this mode, you have to
play the melody on your own while the
accompaniment is played.
To select the Learning mode you wish to use,
follow these steps:
1. Press the
[SONG] button, then press the
[LEARN] button repeatedly until the black
indicator faces ONE KEY on the right of the
display.
2. Select a song from the SONGS list and
enter its 2-digit number.
3. Press the [START/STOP] button and the
instrument plays the first note of the
selected song. The note appears on the
display. Press the corresponding key to
continue with the learning. The next note
you need to press appears on the display.
The song keeps playing even if you press
the wrong key.
4. To stop the learning mode, press the
[START/STOP] or [LEARN] button again.
If you have pressed the
[LEARN] button,
the black indicator will move to face
MELODY GUIDE and a note appears on
the display. Press the correct key for the
learning mode to continue. The song will
carry on as long as you press the correct
key. If you wish to play the song with an
accompaniment in Learning mode, press
the
[LEARN] button repeatedly until the
black indicator faces MELODY OFF. If you
want to exit the Learning mode, press the
[LEARN] button repeatedly until the black
indicator faces NORMAL.
Metronome
Press the [VOICE] or [STYLE] button, and
then press the [METRONOME] button. The
metronome plays the selected tempo and the
corresponding beat appears on the display.
Press the [METRONOME] button again to
deactivate the metronome.
Beat
When the metronome is activated, press the
BEAT button repeatedly until you hear the
desired number of beats in the bar. 9 types
are available (00. 02-09) and can be selected
in loop. The number of beats appears on the
display.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
Recording
You can record a sequence of a maximum
of 37 notes.
1. Press the [RECORD] button to start
recording. RECORD appears on the
display.
2. Play the notes you want to record.
3. Press the [PLAY] button to play back the
notes you just recorded. PLAY appears on
the display.
4. Press the [RECORD] button again to stop
recording. [RECORD] disappears.
Note: If the power is cut, the recording stops
and all data are lost.
One Touch Setting (O.T.S.)
The One Touch Setting feature allows you to
play a preset voice adapted to the style you
selected. Follow the steps indicated below to
activate this feature.
1. Press the [STYLE] button.
2. Enter a 2-digit preset style number.
3. Press the [O.T.S.] button. O.T.S. appears on
the display.
4. Press the [VOICE] button. The preset voice
corresponding to the selected style is
displayed.
Press the [O.T.S.] button again to exit this
mode. “O.T.S.” is no longer indicated on the
display.
Sustain
For increased flexibility and control while
playing, you can have the keyboard use a
sustain effect on the notes.
Press the [SUSTAIN] button to have the
keyboard sustain the notes you play. SUSTAIN
appears on the display and the notes you are
playing are sustained until you release the
[SUSTAIN] button. Press the [SUSTAIN] button
again to deactivate this feature.
Percussion Pads
Using the percussion pads
Percussion pads on your keyboard give you a
choice of 5 different percussion instrument
voices (bass drum, snare, open hi-hat, closed
hi-hat and high tom).
To play a percussion pad, simply press the
desired pad when wanted. The keyboard
triggers the percussion voice each time you
press the pad.
Assigning a voice to a percussion pad
You can assign any of the available
percussion voices to a pad. This allows you
to quickly select and play a percussion voice
that the keyboard can reproduce.
Note: All voice assignations are deleted when
the keyboard is switched off.
Follow the steps below to record and play
back a percussion track.
1. Press the [VOICE] button, and then enter
5 0 on the keypad.
2. To select the desired voice, press any of
the 16 white keys in the middle section of
the keyboard until you hear the voice you
want.
3. When you hear the voice you want to
record, hold down the percussion pad to
which you want to assign the voice and
press the corresponding white key.
4. Press the percussion pad to hear the
assigned voice.
Transposing
The keyboard automatically selects the key
of C each time you switch it on. For increased
flexibility, you can transpose this default
pitch between 12 levels (+6 – -6). You can
easily adjust the transposition value with
the X’POSER buttons. Press the [X’POSER +]
button to increase the pitch of the keyboard
by a semi-tone or the X’POSER - button to
lower it by a semi-tone.
Press the [X’POSER +] and [X’POSER -] buttons
simultaneously to revert to the default pitch
value.
