2. Introduction
We are pleased that you have chosen the Evolution Pro 2 to be your
child restraint system.
e Evolution Pro 2 forms part of the Pro product line of our com
-
pany, which provides extensive safety for the protection of your
baby and growing child by making use of special energy-absorb
-
ing materials. e forces generated during a collision are absorbed
particularly well before they reach the delicate body parts of your
baby. To gain the most comprehensive protection for your child, the
Evolution Pro 2 must be used exactly as described in this manual!
e Evolution Pro 2 also stands out due to its adjustable reclined
position, which oers your child an almost at reclined position when
using the infant carrier on your stroller or as a rocker.
3. Suitability
e Evolution Pro 2 infant carrier has been tested and approved in ac-
cordance with the latest version of the Safety Standard ECE-R44/04.
It was granted the design approval for the “universal” and “semi-uni
-
versal” (in connection with the Isox platform) class of products.
is means:
“Universal”: e Evolution Pro 2 can be used in all vehicles with seats
with 3-point belt compliant with ECE-R16 or comparable standards.
“Semi-universal”: In connection with the Isox platform (accessory),
the Evolution Pro 2 may be used in all vehicles that are listed in the
vehicle type list. Check the latest version of the type list at:
www.kiddy.de/typelist_isoxbase.
7
EN
It is important to take note that you may never use the
Evolution Pro 2 on a car seat with an active front airbag!
A front airbag that hits the infant carrier with force can
cause serious injury or even death to the child!
For use in your vehicle, please also follow the manufactur-
er’s recommendations in your owner’s manual.
4. General safety instructions
WARNING
1. Please read the instructions for use carefully be-
fore using the car seat for the rst time. Incorrect
use can endanger the life of your child.
2. Many injuries are caused by mere thoughtless-
ness and can easily be avoided.
3. Never use the Evolution Pro 2 in the reclined po-
sition in a vehicle. e reclined position is intended
for use outside the vehicle only.
4. It is not permitted to make any modications
to the child restraint system. Doing so nullies or
impairs its eectiveness in protection. If diculties
arise, please consult your retailer or the manufac-
turer.
EN
8
5. Regularly inspect the dierent elements of the in-
fant carrier. e belt system and buckle in particular
must be checked regularly for wear and tear or pos-
sible damage.
6. Do not attempt to make adjustments while trav-
elling!
7. Always install the Evolution Pro 2 facing the direc-
tion opposite to the one in which you are travelling
(the child’s back facing the direction you are travel-
ling in).
8. Please adhere to the instructions in the owner’s
manual of the vehicle into which the Evolution Pro 2
is installed.
9. Make sure that all movable parts of the
Evolution Pro 2 are always properly locked in place
and that no parts are lodged between movable
seats or doors.
10. e infant carrier should only be used for the
age group 0+ (up to a maximum of 13 kg or approx.
15 months).
11. In vans and mini-vans it is particularly important
to ensure that the Evolution Pro 2 is installed in an
9
EN
easily accessible seat in the event that third-party
rescue is required.
12. Never use the Evolution Pro 2 as a shopping
bag or as a means for transporting something.
13. Never leave your baby unsupervised, especially
not when the Evolution Pro 2 is placed on a high
surface (nappy changing station, table etc.).
14. Always secure the baby with the belt system
(even when you are not using the Evolution Pro 2
inside the vehicle)!
15. Do not place any heavy items on the rear win-
dow shelf, these can become dangerous projectiles
in the event of an accident.
16. Always fasten the Evolution Pro 2 seat with the
vehicle seat belt or on the Isox platform when
transporting it in your car unoccupied.
17. Never use the Evolution Pro 2 seat without its
original cover, it forms part of the safety concept!
18. Shield the Evolution Pro 2 seat from direct sun-
light to prevent uncomfortable heating of the sur-
face.
EN
10
19. Schedule breaks during longer trips and take
your baby out of the Evolution Pro 2 seat to relieve
the pressure on its spinal column.
20. Only fasten the Evolution Pro 2 seat with the
vehicle’s own 3-point belt through the marked belt
guides or on the Isox platform available as an
accessory.
21. Do not use the Evolution Pro 2 any more if parts
have been damaged or after an accident (at an im-
pact speed greater than 10 km/h)! (See point 15.)
5. General use / Adjustments
5.1 Functions of the carry handle / Adjusting the reclined position
To adjust the carry handle, press both carry handle buttons (g. 1,
no. 1) and then swivel the carry handle (g. 1, no. 2) into the required
position.
WARNING
Make sure that both carry handle buttons are
locked in place again (they protrude)!
e carry handle of the Evolution Pro 2 can be used in two positions
(g. 2):
g. 2, no. 1: Carry position / installation position in vehicle with
3-point belt or on Isox platform.
g. 2, no. 2: Reclined position for use on stroller or as rocker.
11
EN
Never use the Evolution Pro 2 in the reclined position in a vehicle. e
reclined position is intended for use outside the vehicle only.
5.2 Using the newborn inlay
e Evolution Pro 2 is equipped with a comfort inlay for newborns.
is inlay ensures a more level position of your baby in the infant car
-
rier. is comfort inlay may only be used for babies up to the age of
6 months (g. 3). To remove the inlay, open the buckle and remove
the inlay from the shoulder belts.
Premature babies: A special inlay for premature babies, which oers
a signicantly better seating and reclined position, is available as an
accessory.
5.3 Using the sunshade
To extend the sunshade pull the hood towards the foot end of the
car seat. To retract the sunshade, push towards the head end of the
car seat.
6. Buckling / Unbuckling of the baby
6.1 Loosening the belt system
Turn the carry handle in to the carry position. Before you can adjust
the height of the shoulder belts, the belt system must be loosened.
For this purpose, keep the central adjuster pressed in the front un
-
der the seating area (g. 4, no. 1), and pull the shoulder belts (g. 4,
no. 2) out.
6.2 Adjusting the height of the belt system
Open the front cover at the head end of the infant carrier by slightly
pressing the hooks upward (g. 5, no. 1), now the cover opens (g. 5,
no. 2). Now turn the height adjuster handle 90° clockwise (g. 6, no. 1)
and pull the handle outward (g. 6, no. 2), then move it into the desired
EN
12
position upward or downward (g. 6, no. 3). e shoulder belts have
to be adjusted so that they are at the baby’s shoulder height (g. 7).
Lock the handles back into place after you have nished. Please make
sure that the belt system is not twisted or does not become lodged!
Close the front cover.
6.3 Buckling / Unbuckling of the baby
Always buckle up your child when it is in the infant carrier! Loosen the
shoulder belts as described in point 6.1 and place them over the side
of the rim of the carrier.
Place your baby in the infant carrier and then position the shoul
-
der belts over its shoulders (g. 8, no. 1). Place the safety belt lock
tongues attached to the shoulder belts over each other (g. 8, no. 2).
Now push the safety belt lock tongues into the buckle. It is locked in
place when a click sound is heard (g. 9). Make certain that it is se
-
curely locked in place! Now pull the central belt until the belt system
ts the body of the child snugly (g. 10)!
Make sure that the space between the belts and your child is no more
than the width of a nger (approx. 1 cm) and that the belt system is
not twisted.
Loosen the shoulder belts as described in point 6.1 and press the red
button on the buckle to unbuckle your baby. Now you can take the
child out of the seat.

EN
7. Use in the vehicle
7.1 In-vehicle installation with seat belt
7.1.1 Seat selection
Read up all the necessary information about the use of
child restraint systems in your vehicle owner’s manual.
e Evolution Pro 2 child restraint system can be installed on any seat
of vehicles equipped with a 3-point belt system (g. 11).
If you want to install the child restraint system in the pas-
senger seat, the airbag must be deactivated or you will
have to use a dierent seat.
7.1.2 Installation steps with the seat belt
WARNING
1. Place the Evolution Pro 2 facing the rear and with
the handle in the carry position on a seat without an
active front airbag and with a 3-point belt (g. 12).
2. Before starting the journey, please always make
sure that the harness is put on and tightened cor-
rectly.
Pull the vehicle seat belt out and feed the lap belt through both lap
belt guides and press the safety belt lock tongue into the buckle
(g. 13) with a clearly audible click. Check that everything is locked
into place. Tighten the lap belt (g. 13). Now place the shoulder belt
around the infant carrier and feed it through behind the front cover
EN
14
of the infant carrier (g. 14). Make certain that the belt clip is in the
correct position. Now tighten the belt system (g. 15). Make sure that
the belt is not twisted (g. 15)!
e infant carrier is in the optimum position when the rear line at the
shell is at a 90° angle (vertical) to the horizontal line (g. 15).
Some vehicles are tted with so-called retractor locks.
With this, the automatic recoiling of the belt can be blocked,
which makes a more solid installation of the Evolution Pro 2
possible. Read your vehicles’ owner manual for more infor
-
mation on this feature or ask your authorised workshop.
7.2 Installation with the Isox platform
7.2.1 Seat selection
Read up all the necessary information about the use of
child restraint systems in your vehicle owner’s manual.
With the Isox platform, the child restraint system Evolution Pro 2
can be installed in any seat in a vehicle that is tted with Isox an-
chors.
However, you must refer to the included vehicle type list with regard
to seat selection in your vehicle. e latest version of the vehicle type
list is always available for download at:
www.kiddy.de/typelist_isoxbase.
Rear-facing child restraint systems may never be used
with an activated front airbag!
Traces of use or discolouration can appear on some vehicle seat cov
-
ers made from sensitive materials (e.g. velour, leather etc.) if car seats
or platforms are used. To avoid this we recommend to place a seat
cover shield or protection mat underneath the product.
