stovesandsimilarelectricalappliances.
NEVERdroporinsertobjectsintoanyopeningorhose.
NEVERusewhilesleepingordrowsy.
NEVERblocktheairopeningsoftheproductorplaceitona
softsurface,suchasabedorcouch,wheretheairopenings
maybeblocked.Keeptheairopeningsfreefromlint,hairand
thelike.Blockedopeningsmaycausetheunittoshutdown.
Contactdealerimmediately.
TheStratoscompressornebulizersystemusesthe
surroundingairtoeffectivelyadministertheprescribed
medicationthroughthenebulizer.Theuserandadministrator
shouldbeawareofsurroundingssoasnottohave
contaminatedairfilteredthroughthecompressornebulizer
system.(Examplescanbeaircontaminatedwithpaintor
cleaningfumes,weedkiller,carexhaust,etc.)
DONOTusetheStratoscompressornebulizersysteminthese
environments.Otherwise,seriousbodilyinjurymayoccur.

Unpacking

4. Addtheprescribedamountofmedicationtothecupofthenebulizer
usinganeyedropper,premeasureddoseorampoule(FIGURE5.1).
5. Gentlytwistthetopandbottomsectionstogethertoassemblethe
nebulizer.Besurethetwosectionsfitsecurely.

tenseconds.Thenexhaleslowlythroughthemouthpiece.
NOTE:Ifyouneedtorestduringatreatment,placethenebulizeronthenebulizer
parkingpostlocatedonthecompressor.
NOTE:Tightencapsonmedi cation jars.
4. Whentreatmentiscomplete,
turntheunitoffbysettingtheswitchto
the“O”positionandunplugtheunitfromtheelectricaloutlet.

Followingthecleaninginstructionsaftereachusewillpreventany
remainingmedicationinthebottlefromdryingandcausingthedeviceto
nebulizeineffectively.
Itisrecommendedthatthereusablenebulizerandthemouthpiecebe
thoroughlyrinsedwithhottapwateraftereachuseandcleanedwitha
milddetergentafter
thelasttreatmentoftheday.ThesamepiecesMUST
alsobedisinfecteddailybysoakinginavinegar/watersolutionora
commerciallyavailabledisinfectant.Ifyourphysicianorrespiratory
therapistspecifiesadifferentcleaningprocedure,followtheir
instructions.
Cleaning the Outer Case
WARNING
Unplugunitbeforecleaning.
DONOTsubmergeinwatertoclean.Cleanoutercasewith
dampcloth.
DANGER
DO NOT remove outer case of this unit. Removing the
case creates a serious electrical shock hazard. All
disassembly and maintenance of this unit MUST be done
by a qualified technician.
