IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES
WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and
other construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or
other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Leadfromlead-basedpaints.
• Crystallinesilicafrombricksandcementandothermasonryproducts.
• Arsenicandchromiumfromchemicallytreatedlumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to
these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks
that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
WARNING: When using electric gardening appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
Read all instructions before using this appliance.
• Avoid dangerous environments - do not use appliances in damp or wet locations.
• Don’t use in rain or in damp conditions.
• Keep children away - all people and pets should be kept at a distance from the work area.
• Dress properly - do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Wear protective
clothing; use of work gloves, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and safety footwear is recommended when working
outdoors. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
• Use safety glasses - always use face or dust mask if the area in which you are working is dusty.
• Use right appliance - do not use appliance for any job except that for which it is intended.
• Do not force appliance - it will do the job better and with less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for which
it was designed.
• Do not overreach - keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Stay alert. Use common sense. Do not operate appliance when you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
• When not in use, appliances should be stored indoors in dry places out of reach of children.
• Maintain appliance with care. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Keep handles dry,

• Check damaged parts. Before using the appliance, make sure the safety guards are intact. Never use a tool
without its safety guard. Check the alignment of the moving parts, the binding of the moving parts.
• Check for broken or defective parts that can affect the safe operation of your tool. A guard or other part
that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center unless indicated elsewhere
in this manual.
• Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one
type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
• Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs
may create a risk of injury and fire.
• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins,
keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting
the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact
accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns. (This advice is considered correct for conventional Ni-Mh, Ni-Cd, lead acid and
lithium-ion cell types. If this advice is incorrect for a cell design that differs from these, then the correct advice may
be substituted.)
• Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified
batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
4
English

STARTING AND STOPPING THE TRIMMER
To Start the Trimmer, press the lock-off button and squeeze the trigger switch.
To Stop the Trimmer, release the trigger switch.
Caution: Always allow a few seconds for the cutting line spool to stop rotating after releasing the trigger
switch.Donotinvertthetrimmer/edgerorplaceyourhandsundertheguarduntilthetrimmer/edgerspoolhascome
to a complete stop.
CUTTING LINE AND FEEDING (FIG 9)
This trimmer uses .80" (2mm) diameter dual nylon line. During use, the tips of the cutting lines will become frayed and
worn. You may feed the cutting lines by either Auto-Feed or Manual-Feed.
Caution: Do not bump trimmer on ground in attempt to feed line or for any other purposes.
AutomaticFeedingtheCuttingLine
When initially switching on the trimmer, a small length of line is fed
out. Each time the trimmer is started from the rest the line will advance
about1/4".
You will hear a ‘clattering’ noise when the lines hit the line cutter (1). This
is normal. After a few seconds the line will be cut to the correct length
and the noise will reduce as the motor gains full speed. If the noise of
the line being cut can’t be heard, more line will need to be fed out. To
feed more line, stop the trimmer completely; then restart, allowing the
motor to reach full speed. Repeat above until you hear the line hitting
against the line cutter.
ManuallyFeedingtheCuttingLine
If required, the cutting line can be fed out manually.
1. Turn off the trimmer and remove the battery.
2. Press and release Manual Line Feed Button (3).
3. Gently pull out the line.
4. Repeat the step 2 and 3 until the cutting line is long enough to reach the Line Cutter.
NOTE: If the line extends past the line cutter, too much line has been fed out. If too much line is fed out, remove the
spool cap (3) and turn spool counter-clockwise until the line is at the desired length.
TILTING THE MOTOR HEAD (FIG 10)
The motor head (3) on this trimmer can be tilted in 3 positions. 45° for
using on a flat cutting area, 30° for a sloped cutting area, and 0° for a
hard-to-reach area.
To Tilt the Motor Head:
1. Press the tilt buttons (1) on the both sides of the motor head (3).
2. Tilt the shaft (2) againt the motor head to the desired angle as shown
in Fig 10. A click sound indicates the shaft is locked in one of the
positions.
USING THE TRIMMER
Follow these tips when using the trimmer.
• Hold the trimmer with your right hand on the rear handle and your left hand on the front handle.
• Keep a firm grip with both hands while in operation.
• Trimmer should be held at a comfortable position with the rear handle about hip height.

• Cut tall grass from the top down. This will prevent grass from wrapping around the boom housing and string head
which may cause damage from overheating.
• If grass becomes wrapped around the string head, remove the battery and then remove the grass.
WARNING: Always hold the string trimmer away from the body keeping clearance
between the body and the string trimmer. Any contact with the string trimmer cutting head
while operating can result in serious personal injury.
CUTTING TIPS (FIG 11)
•
Keep the trimmer tilted toward the area being cut; this is
the best cutting area.
• The trimmer cuts when passing the unit from left to right.
This will avoid throwing debris at the operator.
• Avoid cutting in the dangerous area shown in figure 11.
• Use the tip of the line to do the cutting; do not force string
head into uncut grass.
• Wire and picket fences cause extra line wear, even
breakage. Stone and brick walls, curbs, and wood may
wear line rapidly.
EDGING (FIG 12)
This trimmer can be easily changed to the edger mode.
1. Remove the battery pack
2. Press the edge shift button (1) and hold.
3. Rotate the bottom shaft (2) 180° clockwise.
4. Release the edge shift button.
WARNING: Never stand directly in the
path of the cutting line while edging. Always
stand to the left of the grass deflector to avoid
thrown debris, which could result in serious
personal injury.
CHARGING THE BATTERY (FIG 13)
NOTE:
Always Check that the power supply corresponds to the
voltage on the ratings plate.
• Plug the charger (1) into a 120 Volt AC power source. The green light
(3) will illuminate for 5 seconds, then the light will go off if no battery
pack in the charger.
•Slide the battery (2) all the way into the charger until it locks in place
with a click, as shown in FIG 13. The flashing green light indicates
that the battery is charging. A solid green indicates the battery is fully
charged.
• The flashing red light (4) indicates the battery temperature is too high
to be charged. Wait the battery cool down to start the charging.
• The solid red light indicates the battery is damaged and will never be
charged.
• Batteriesmaybecomewarmwhilecharging.Thisisnormal.

CLEANING
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Donotatanytimeletbrakeuids,gasoline,petroleum-basedproducts,
penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
Electric tools used on fiberglass material, wallboard, spackling compounds, or plaster are subject to accelerated wear
and possible premature failure because the fiberglass chips and grindings are highly abrasive to bearings, brushes,
commutators, etc. Consequently, we do not recommended using this tool for extended work on these types of materials.
However, if you do work with any of these materials, it is extremely important to clean the tool using compressed air.
LUBRICATION
This product is permanently lubricated at the factory and requires no additional lubrication.
SPOOL REPLACEMENT (FIG 14)
Use only 0.065" round or twisted or 0.080" diameter twisted line. Use original manufacturer’s spool replacement for
best performance.
• Remove the battery pack.
• Push in tabs on both sides of spool cap and remove the
spool cap.
• Remove the spool.
• To install the new spool, make sure the two lines are
captured in the slots opposite each other on the new spool.
• Install the new spool so that the line and slots align with
the eyelets in the line head. Thread the line into the eyelet.
• Pull the line extending from the line head so the line
releases from the slots in the spool.
• Reinstall the spool cap by depressing tabs into slots and
pushing down until spool cap clicks into place.
LINE REPLACEMENT (FIG 15)
•
Remove the battery.
• Remove the spool from the line head.
• Remove any old line remaining on the spool.
• Cut a piece of line approximately 11 ft. long. Use only
