3 Safety
WARNING! For reasons of safety, this manual must be studied before
using the 300E for the rst time.
The 300E with 1 phase motor may only be connected to a grounded power
socket of the voltage stated on the machine data plate.
Any damaged electrical component is immediately to be replaced with a
genuine spare part. Such work may only be performed by a person with the
necessary knowledge of electrical equipment.
Any damaged component that is subjected to vacuum or overpressure is to
be replaced with a genuine spare part to avoid the risk of spreading harmful
dust.
It is prohibited to lift the 300E by the handle on top of the power unit or to
be underneath the 300E while it is being lifted by the frame handle. See
Chapter ‘9 Transport and lifting’.
The safety guard must not be removed as there is risk of injury to ngers if
the top of the motor is removed and the unit is started.
Hot or red-hot material, ammable uids, explosive or health-impairing
fumes as well as dust that could cause an explosion may not be sucked into
the unit. Neither may the unit be used in spaces where such material exists.
For reasons of safety, do not put the vacuum hose inlet near the eyes, ears or
other part of the body.
Anti-static vacuum hoses, hose ttings and lters is to be used in order to
reduce the danger of sparks and dust explosions.
The 300E with 1-phase motor has a noise level of 75 dB(A) when in normal
operation. Use approved ear defenders during longer periods of use.
Unplug (unit with a 1 phase motor) the power supply before removing the
motor assembly from the unit. Take care not to spread dust when changing
the plastic sack or bag and when replacing the micro-lter.
Wear an approved breathing mask in the case of hazardous dust.
Do not operate the unit with a 1 phase motor when the vacuum is almost or
fully restricted. or no airow, since this could result in overheating of the
fan motors.
The 300E is not classied as a wet vacuum cleaner. Large amounts of water
may not be sucked into the unit. However, it may be used for damp material
and in a damp environment.
4 Description
300E is an industrial vacuum cleaner. Electrical driven, 1-phase with
separately cooled motors. The unit is provided with manual and automatic
start/stop modes. In the automatic start/stop mode, the unit is controlled by a
connected electric or pneumatic tool (the 110120 V version for a pneumatic
tool only).
The rated power, voltage, safety class, ow, working pressure, max pressure
and so on are stated on the machine data plate, see Figure 14. The noise level
during normal operation is 75 dB(A) according to ISO 11201.
300E SeriesEN
12
Dust separation takes place in three stages:
Stage 1 is a collecting receptacle into which larger particles fall.
Stage 2 is a ne lter with twelve lter hoses.
Stage 3 is a micro-lter (optional) with degree of separation >99.997%
(DOP).
5 Main components
5.1 Power unit
Power unit, 1-phase consists of motor, and two fans and cleaning. See Figure 1.
5.1.1 Maintenance
1-phase power unit
Replace the fan motors in the power unit if they are not working satisfactorily.
The motors’ carbon brushes are worn out after about 700 hours of operation.
Replacing the motors’ carbon brushes more than once is not recommended.
The motor collector becomes worn and new brushes will wear very quickly.
Replace the entire motor instead. The motors are accessible after unscrewing
the power unit.
5.2 Filter/Filter package
5.2.1 Micro-lter (optional)
See Figure 2.
Maintenance
Change the micro-lter once a year or more often if vacuum performance
decreases despite cleaning the ne lters. See Figure 3 how to change the
micro-lter. Use genuine micro-lters only. Ensure that the rubber gasket on
the lter seals tightly against the base of the power unit. Leakage between
microlter and fan inlet must not be allowed. Use an approved breathing mask
when changing the lters.
5.2.2 Filter package
See Figure 4.
Filter package, Cartridge
See Figure 4a. The particles collect on the outside of the lter. Cleaning of
the lter is carried out hourly or when the vacuum performance decreases. If
required the cartridge lter is to be changed.
Filter package, PP
See Figure 4b. The particles collect on the outside of the lter. Cleaning is
carried out every other hour or when the vacuum performance decreases. If
required the lter package is to be changed. Replacing the entire lter package
is recommended. When only changing the socks, the lter ring is to also be
replaced.
Filter package anti-static, PTFE
See Figure 4c. The lter package has been treated with an antistatic agent,
ensuring easier cleaning and less risk of sparks and dust explosions. The

particles collect on the outside of the lter. Cleaning is carried out every other
hour or when the vacuum performance decreases. If required the lter package
is to be changed. Replacing the entire lter package is recommended. When
only changing the socks, the lter ring is also to be replaced.
5.3 Casing
The casing forms a container for the lter package. It is important that the
eccentric catches are secured with locking cotters, see Figure 5.
5.4 Plastic sack/Filter bag
See Figure 6. The unit can be supplied with either a plastic sack or a lter bag
for collecting dust. Plastic sacks/Filter bags t all receptacles.
The unit is never to be operated with only a lter bag, but must have some
other form of lter.
5.5 Receptacle
See Figure 7. Plastic receptacles are used for all applications.
5.6 Frame Maintenance
See Figure 8. Check the screw mountings, broken parts is to be replaced.
5.7 Wheels
See Figure 9. The wheel is a plastic wheel, pneumatic rubber wheel or rubber
wheel ø 250.
5.8 Cleaning
See Figure 10. The ne lters is to be cleaned daily or as soon as the vacuum
performance has decreased.
Cleaning is carried out as follows:
1. Start (mode I, manual).
2. Disconnect the suction hose so that the ap valve closes.
3. Pull up and release the clearing control on top of the power unit, four
times with a few seconds interval.
If the unit is supplied with a closed lter bag in the collecting receptacle, there
will be less need for cleaning the ne lters. When changing from a plastic
sack to a lter bag, the ne lter must rst be thoroughly cleaned.
6 Connecting and starting
6.1 1-phase power unit
The unit may only be connected to a grounded power socket with the voltage
as stated on the machine data plate, see Figure 14. Information about maximum
power consumption is also given. Note that the total power consumption may
increase in certain cases of operation with electric tools connected.
300E SeriesEN
14
6.2 Cleaning equipment
CE500 is used for heavy duty cleaning.
CE450 is used for normal cleaning.
CE370P is used for ne cleaning.
CE370C is used for food industry cleaning.
6.3 Start/Stop, 1-phase unit
300E B has electrical Start/Stop.
300E has electrical + pneumatic Start/Stop.
In most cases, electric tools can be connected to a socket on the power unit for
automatic start/stop functioning of the unit. However, this does not apply to
110120 V unit versions. Minimum power consumption of connected tools for
auto-start is 60 W. Maximum permitted power is stated on the decal located
near the power point. The connection of tools at a higher power could result in
electric overload. Pneumatic power tools can also be connected for automatic
start/stop functioning of the unit. The supply of compressed air to the tool
must then be connected via the power unit. Connection via male 1/4" thread or
female 1/8" thread.
7 Using 300E Series
The 300E is suitable for most types of dust in industrial applications and on
building sites. There are important exceptions, see Chapter ‘3 Safety’. Oil mist
can clog the lters.
1-phase power unit
In normal operation, without any electric or pneumatic tools connected, the
unit is started in mode I. If an electric or pneumatic tool is connected to the
unit, the switch is normally set in mode II.
In mode II, the unit starts when the connected tool is started
and stops with a slight delay when the tool is stopped. See
Chapter ‘6 Connecting and starting’ for further information.
8 Function
8.1 General
Coarse particles are separated directly into the collecting receptacles plastic
sack. If the unit is supplied with a closed lter bag instead of a plastic sack,
most of the dust will be deposited there. Fine dust follows the upward moving
ow of air and is deposited on the outside of the ne-lter hoses.
The unit has a semi-automatic function for cleaning the ne lters. The
principle of the cleaning function is that a pressure shock is created to dislodge
dust from the lters. The dust falls down and is collected in the receptacles
plastic sack.
Very small particles can pass through the ne lter and on to the micro-lter
(optional). This has a very high degree of separation, > 99.997% (DOP).
300E Series
15
EN
8.2 1-phase power unit
The cleansed air moves on to the high-pressure fans in the power unit. The air
leaves the unit via noise-abating ducts in the power unit.
If ow-through is too small over a sufciently long period, for example due to a
closed ap valve blocked hose, the motors will become overheated. The suction
hose should therefore not be completely blocked for longer than a few seconds.
Clogged lters, which also reduce the ow of air, can result in overheating. The
motors are protected against overheating by a thermal cut-out. This means that
the unit will restart when the thermal cut-out has cooled down.
The 300E is not to be used as a stationary vacuum unit because of the danger
of overheating.
9 Transport and lifting
See Figures 11 and 12. The 300E can be transported vertically or horizontally.
In order not to spread any hazardous dust when transporting, the suction hose
is to be disconnected from the inlet so that the ap valve closes.
The hose can be “short-circuited” by connecting the couplings at either end of
the hose. The collecting receptacle must be tted when transporting and lifting
the unit. The eccentric catches holding the receptacle must be secured using
locking cotters, see Figure 5. Remove cleaning equipment and other loose parts
from the unit before lifting. Replace sack/bag in the collecting receptacle if it
contains large amounts of heavy material (>10 kg. The unit weighs 36 kg when
empty). Attach lifting straps to the frame handle to lift the unit. The handle
must be locked in its vertical position.
At the same time ensure that there is no damage to the handle mountings on
the frame.
WARNING!
It is prohibited to remain underneath the 300E when lifting. Lifting the 300E
by the handle located on top of the power unit is prohibited.
10 Maintenance
Read Chapter ‘3 Safety’ before carrying out maintenance.
Installation, repair and maintenance work is to be carried out by qualied
personnel using only original Nederman spare parts. Contact your nearest
authorized distributor or Nederman for advice on technical service.

11 Recycling
The product has been designed for component materials to be recycled.
Its different material types must be handled according to relevant local
regulations. Contact the distributor or Nederman if uncertainties arise when
scrapping the product at the end of its service life.
Most 300E components (81% of the total weight) can be recycled when
scrapping the unit. There are two metallic threaded inserts in the frame. They
must be removed prior to recycling. Most of the plastic parts are labelled to
facilitate sorting. Components that at present cannot suitably be recycled can
be identied according to Figure 13.
In order to meet ofcial requirements, American variants of the 300E with
1-phase motor contain ameproofed components in the power unit and these
contain small amounts of bromine. Bromine is classied as hazardous to health
and must be dealt with according to local directions when scrapping.
