FOR RECHARGEABLE

APPLICATION

Your new Conair Haircut Kit has everything

you need to achieve professional haircuts

at home. Its powerful D.C. motor clipper

with High Stainless Steel blades for long

lasting cutting precision, features a new 5-

position adjustamatic taper control. Plus,

Turbo button for more cutting power.

Whatever hair length you set the lever for,

the clipper will automatically cut all hair in

that section at the same desired length.

This appliance is intended for household

use. Use on Alternating Current (120V 60

hertz) only.

1. Before use, the clipper must be fully

charged for 16 hours.

2. After use, turn the switch to “Off”

position. Recharge batteries by connecting

the charging jack into the receptacle at the

end of the clipper and plugging the adapter

unit into the electrical outlet. The charging

indicator lamp will light up to indicate that

charging has begun.

3. After recharging, store in a dry place,

away from small children.

4. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

FOR DIRECT PLUG-IN OPERATION

1. Connect the charging jack into the recep-

tacle at the end of the clipper.

2. Plug the adapter unit into the electric out-

let.

3. Turn the switch to “Off” position, let the

clipper charged for few minutes first.

4. Turn the switch to “On” position.

5. Unplug the adapter unit after use.

6. After use, store in a dry place away from

small children.

7. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

BATTERY REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using a small Phillips screwdriver,

remove the screw on the bottom housing at

back of the clipper.

2. Remove the top housing by hand.

3. Now the battery is exposed so you can

separate the wire connectors. Carefully hold

the wires on each side of the connector and

gently cut the wires. The connector will sep-

arate and the batteries can be removed from

the inner housing. Bring the battery to the

nearest collection center for disposal or call

the toll-free RBRC information line at 1-800-

8-BATTERY. RBRC is a trademark of The

Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Corporation. DO NOT throw the batteries

into the normal municipal waste system.

Never use cord to pull clipper.Never twist or

otherwise obstruct cord. To store, coil cord

loosely and secure with a twist tie.

Also included are 10 attachment combs for

different hair lengths, barber scissors, a

barber comb with straight teeth, a full

length barber cape, a neck brush, a hard

case for easy storage, and a styling comb.

It also comes with lubricating oil, a cleaning

brush, adaptator and a blade guard for easy

maintenance of the clipper blades.

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is

free of hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is

running smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of

the person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at

your eye level. This gives you greater visi-

bility and control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re

ready to cut.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number

2) cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number

3) cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts

hair to 1/2”.

• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts

hair to 5/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts

hair to 3/4”.

• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts

hair to 7/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 8) cuts

hair to 1”

• Left ear attachment comb lightly tapers

up then snapping

NOTE:

Never push

or shove the clipper

through the hair to

make it move more

quickly. Professional

experience shows

that the clipper works

most efficiently when

it cuts through the

hair at its own speed.

To remove comb attachments, place index

finger and thumb as illustrated; then pull

out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be

combed in its natural

direction.

2. Using the largest

attachment comb,

trim sides from the

bottom upwards. Hold

clipper lightly against

the hair with teeth of

the attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little

at a time. Repeat

around sides and back

of head.

3. If you want hair to

be even shorter:

Apply more pressure

to the head with the

attachment comb that

is in place. This takes

a little practice, of

course. Or, just

switch to a shorter

attachment comb. Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top,

use the barber comb

and lift hair on the top

of the head, cutting

over the comb, or

hold hair between fin-

gers and cut to

desired length. Always

working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut

the hair shorter by reducing the space

between the comb or fingers and the head.

Comb often to check for uneven strands,

and to get rid of trimmed hair. For thicker

hair and more cutting power, press the turbo

button on the side.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

the hair into the desired style, Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see sketch) and make sure the corner

edge of the blade is against the hairline.

With the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see sketch) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb the hair often and check results

as you comb. This way you can avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT

TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut the hair from the back of the

neck toward the crown, using the longest

comb setting. Hold the comb attachment

flat against the head and slowly move the

clipper up through the hair. Use the same

technique for the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of the head.

For the front of the crown, cut the hair

against its natural direction. Then even it

up with the sides.

For a flat top use a flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut top hair by

running the clipper over the comb.

To taper hair down to the neckline, use the

lower settings attachment comb. Comb the

hair and check for uneven spots. Outline the

sideburns and neckline areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: the front of the clip-

per should be facing you, push up under

the blade with your thumb and the blade

will pop-out.

To replace the blade: Make sure the taper

control is set to the longest position and

with the back of the clipper facing you,

insert the bottom side (with screws) of the

blade into the clipper and push down until

it snaps into place.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-

ing and after use. This will ensure maxi-

mum cutting performance. Hold clipper

awayfrom your body in a downward posi-

tion and apply oil on the front and sides of

the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a

soft, dry cloth.

Any other servicing should be performed by an

authorized service representative or that the

appliance has no user serviceable parts. The

product is for household use. Do not pull, twist,

or wrap line cord around appliance

UTILISATION SUR PILES

La trousse de coupe de cheveux Conair

permet des résultats professionnels, à la

maison. La puissante tondeuse à moteur CC

et lames en acier à forte teneur en carbone

assurent une coupe de précision. La tête

s’ajuste sous 5 angles et une fonction turbo

amplifie la puissance de coupe. Quelle que

soit la longueur de coupe réglée, la tondeuse

coupe automatiquement les cheveux de

cette section de la même longueur.

Cet appareil est conçu pour l’usage ménager,

sur courant alternatif (120 V, 60 Hz).

1. Avant de l’utiliser, chargez la tondeuse

pendant 16 heures.

2. Après l’utilisation, éteignez la tondeuse et

rechargez-en les piles en connectant le fil

de charge dans la prise de la tondeuse et

l’adaptateur dans une prise de courant. Le

témoin de charge s’allume pour indiquer

que la charge se fait.

3. Une fois la tondeuse rechargée, rangez-

la en lieu sec, hors de la portée des enfants.

4. N’enroulez pas le fil autour de la

tondeuse.

UTILISATION BRANCHÉE

1. Connectez le fil de charge dans la prise

de la tondeuse.

2. Connectez l’adaptateur dans une prise de

courant.

3. Laissez d’abord la tondeuse éteinte

quelques minutes pour qu’elle se charge.

4. Allumez la tondeuse.

5. Déconnectez l’adaptateur après l’usage.

6. Après l’usage, rangez-la en lieu sec, hors

de la portée des enfants.

7. N’enroulez pas le fil autour de la

tondeuse.

REMPLACEMENT DU BLOC-PILES

1. À l’aide d’un petit tournevis Phillips,

enlevez la vis dans le bas, au dos du

manche de la tondeuse.

2. Enlevez le dessus du manche.

3. Le bloc-piles est exposé. Tenez les fils

solidement de part et d’autre du connecteur

et coupez les fils. Le connecteur se sépare et

vous pouvez retirer le bloc-piles. Amenez-le

au centre de collecte régional ou composez

le numéro sans frais de RBRC : 1-800-8-

BATTERY. RBRC est une marque de com-

merce de The Rechargeable Battery

Recycling Corporation.

Ne jetez pas le bloc-piles avec les ordures

ménagères. N’utilisez jamais le fil pour tirer

la tondeuse et ne tordez ni ne pincez-le fil.

utilisez un serre-fil.

La tondeuse est fournie avec 10 peignes

pour différentes longueurs de coupe, des

ciseaux de coiffeur, un peigne de coiffeur à

DES CHEVEUX À LA MAISON

Avant tout :

1. Inspecter la tondeuse, s’assurer qu’elle

est propre, bien huilée et qu’elle

fonctionne bien.

2. Placer une serviette ou une cape autour

du cou de la personne.

3. Asseoir la personne de façon à ce que sa

tête soit au niveau des yeux pour plus de

stabilité et de contrôle.

4. Peigner les cheveux puis saisir la

tondeuse d’une façon confortable. Tout est

prêt pour la coupe.

COUPE MOYENNE À LONGUE

Commencer par une petite section de

cheveux pour s’habituer à la longueur lais-

sée par la tondeuse. Débuter avec le peigne

le plus long pour ensuite passer à un

peigne plus court si l’on désire couper les

cheveux plus courts.

• Le peigne court (numéro 1) coupe les cheveux à 3 mm.

• Le peigne mi-court (numéro 2) coupe les cheveux à 6 mm.

• Le peigne mi-long (numéro 3) coupe les cheveux à 9 mm.

• Le peigne long (numéro 4) coupe les cheveux à 12 mm. •

Le peigne long (numéro 5) coupe les cheveux à 1,6 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 6) coupe les cheveux à 1,9 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 7) coupe les cheveux à 2,25 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 8) coupe les cheveux à 2,5 cm.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille gauche est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille gauge.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille droite est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille droite.

Poser le peigne en le tenant par les dents

pour enclen-cher sa base sur les lames.

Pour enlever le peigne, placer l’index et

le pouce comme illustré et pousser le

peigne en soulevant.

REMARQUE : Ne

jamais pousser ni

forcer la tondeuse à

travers les cheveux

pour aller plus vite.

Pour commencer la coupe :

1. Peigner les cheveux

dans le sens naturel de

la pousse.

2. Avec le peigne long,

découper les côtés, de

base en haut. Tenir la

tondeuse légèrement

contre les cheveux, les

dents du peigne

pointant vers le haut,

mais à plat contre la

tête. Soulever la

tondeuse graduelle-

ment vers le haut et

l’extérieur, ne coupant

qu’un peu de cheveux à

la fois.

Procéder ainsi pour les

côtés et l’arrière de la

tête.

Pour couper les

cheveux plus cours :

A) Presser le peigne

plus fortement contre l a

tête, ce qui

demande un peu plus

de pratique.

B) Passer à un peigne

plus court. Il est préférable de laisser les

cheveux trop longs que trop courts. Pour des

cheveux plus longs sur le dessus, utiliser le

peigne de coiffeur pour soulever les cheveux,

les coupant

par-dessus le peigne. Encore,

tenir les cheveux entre les doigts et les

couper à la longueur voulue.

Toujours couper de

l’avant vers l’arrière de

la tête, raccourcissant

les cheveux graduelle-

ment en réduisant

l’es-pace entre le

peigne ou les doigts et

la tête. Peigner sou-

vent pour constater les

résultats et enlever les cheveux coupés. Pour

des cheveux plus épais et plus de puissance,

appuyez sur le bouton de turbo sur le côté.

DÉLIGNAGE

Le délignage se fait sans peigne. Peigner

les cheveux puis placer la tondeuse entre le

favori et l’oreille (ill. 1). Tenir le coin de la

lame contre la ligne des cheveux.

Utilisant la ligne comme guide, passer la

tondeuse lentement autour de l’oreille.

Pour la nuque et les favoris, tenir la ton-

deuse inversée (ill. 1) et la presser légère-

ment contre la peau, à la longueur voulue,

déplaçant la tondeuse vers le bas.

ARRÊTER. PEIGNER. VÉRIFIER.

Pour des résultats professionnels, peigner

souvent et vérifier les résultats. On évite

ainsi les favoris inégaux, la nuque inégale,

etc.

CONSEILS POUR DES COUPES À

RAS PARFAITES.

Toujours couper du bas de la nuque

jusqu’à la couronne, utilisant le peigne le

plus long. Tenir le peigne à plat contre la

tête et déplacer la tondeuse lentement à

travers les cheveux. Procéder de même

pour les côtés, allant de bas en haut.

Du front à la couronne, couper les cheveux

dans le sens inverse de la pousse puis

égaliser avec les côtés.

Pour un dessus plat, utiliser un peigne plat

et non le peigne de la tondeuse. Couper les

cheveux par-dessus le peigne (ill. 2). Pour

dégrader la nuque, utilisez le peigne n° 1.

Peigner pour voir s’il y a des inégalités.

Découper les favoris et la nuque

(voir « Délignage »).

ENTRETIEN DE LA TONDEUSE

JEU DE LAMES AMOVIBLE

La tondeuse est munie d’un jeu de lames

amovible pour faciliter l’entretien, le net-

toyage et le remplacement.

Pour enlever les lames, tenez le devant de

la tondeuse face à vous, poussez sous la

lame avec le pouce et elle se détachera.

Pour remettre la lame, assurez-vous que le

levier d’effilage se trouve à la position la

plus longue, le dos de la tondeuse face à

vous. Insérez le bas (avec les vis) de la

lame sur la tondeuse et poussez jusqu’à ce

que la lame s’enclenche en position.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et

après l'utilisation afind'assurer un rende-

ment optimal. Tenez la tondeuse loin du

corps, vers lebas, et appliquez une goutte

d'huile sur le devant et chaque des

lames.Essuyez l'excédent avec un chiffon

doux et sec.

Tout autre entretien devrait être effectué par un

centre de service après-vente agréé. La ton-

deuse ne contient aucune pièce qui peut être

réparée par l’utilisateur. Le produit ne convient

que pour l’usage ménager. Ne tordez ni le tirez

le fil de la tondeuse. N’enroulez pas le fil autour

de la tondeuse.

BATTERY REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using a small Phillips screwdriver,

remove the screw on the bottom housing at

back of the clipper.

2. Remove the top housing by hand.

3. Now the battery is exposed so you can

separate the wire connectors. Carefully hold

the wires on each side of the connector and

gently cut the wires. The connector will sep-

arate and the batteries can be removed from

the inner housing. Bring the battery to the

nearest collection center for disposal or call

the toll-free RBRC information line at 1-800-

8-BATTERY. RBRC is a trademark of The

Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Corporation. DO NOT throw the batteries

into the normal municipal waste system.

Never use cord to pull clipper.Never twist or

otherwise obstruct cord. To store, coil cord

loosely and secure with a twist tie.

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is

free of hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is

running smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of

the person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at

your eye level. This gives you greater visi-

bility and control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re

ready to cut.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number

2) cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number

3) cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts

hair to 1/2”.

To remove comb attachments, place index

finger and thumb as illustrated; then pull

out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be

combed in its natural

direction.

2. Using the largest

attachment comb,

trim sides from the

bottom upwards. Hold

clipper lightly against

the hair with teeth of

the attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little

at a time. Repeat

around sides and back

of head.

3. If you want hair to

be even shorter:

Apply more pressure

to the head with the

attachment comb that

is in place. This takes

a little practice, of

course. Or, just

switch to a shorter

attachment comb. Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top,

use the barber comb

and lift hair on the top

of the head, cutting

over the comb, or

hold hair between fin-

gers and cut to

desired length. Always

working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut

the hair shorter by reducing the space

between the comb or fingers and the head.

Comb often to check for uneven strands,

and to get rid of trimmed hair. For thicker

hair and more cutting power, press the turbo

button on the side.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

the hair into the desired style, Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see sketch) and make sure the corner

edge of the blade is against the hairline.

With the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see sketch) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb the hair often and check results

as you comb. This way you can avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT

TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut the hair from the back of the

neck toward the crown, using the longest

comb setting. Hold the comb attachment

flat against the head and slowly move the

clipper up through the hair. Use the same

technique for the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of the head.

For the front of the crown, cut the hair

against its natural direction. Then even it

up with the sides.

For a flat top use a flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut top hair by

running the clipper over the comb.

To taper hair down to the neckline, use the

lower settings attachment comb. Comb the

hair and check for uneven spots. Outline the

sideburns and neckline areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: the front of the clip-

per should be facing you, push up under

the blade with your thumb and the blade

will pop-out.

To replace the blade: Make sure the taper

control is set to the longest position and

with the back of the clipper facing you,

insert the bottom side (with screws) of the

blade into the clipper and push down until

it snaps into place.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-

ing and after use. This will ensure maxi-

mum cutting performance. Hold clipper

awayfrom your body in a downward posi-

tion and apply oil on the front and sides of

the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a

soft, dry cloth.

authorized service representative or that the

UTILISATION SUR PILES

La trousse de coupe de cheveux Conair

permet des résultats professionnels, à la

maison. La puissante tondeuse à moteur CC

et lames en acier à forte teneur en carbone

s’ajuste sous 5 angles et une fonction turbo

amplifie la puissance de coupe. Quelle que

soit la longueur de coupe réglée, la tondeuse

coupe automatiquement les cheveux de

cette section de la même longueur.

Cet appareil est conçu pour l’usage ménager,

sur courant alternatif (120 V, 60 Hz).

1. Avant de l’utiliser, chargez la tondeuse

pendant 16 heures.

2. Après l’utilisation, éteignez la tondeuse et

rechargez-en les piles en connectant le fil

de charge dans la prise de la tondeuse et

l’adaptateur dans une prise de courant. Le

témoin de charge s’allume pour indiquer

que la charge se fait.

3. Une fois la tondeuse rechargée, rangez-

la en lieu sec, hors de la portée des enfants.

4. N’enroulez pas le fil autour de la

tondeuse.

UTILISATION BRANCHÉE

1. Connectez le fil de charge dans la prise

solidement de part et d’autre du connecteur

et coupez les fils. Le connecteur se sépare et

Avant tout :

COUPE MOYENNE À LONGUE

Commencer par une petite section de

cheveux pour s’habituer à la longueur lais-

sée par la tondeuse. Débuter avec le peigne

le plus long pour ensuite passer à un

peigne plus court si l’on désire couper les

cheveux plus courts.

• Le peigne court (numéro 1) coupe les cheveux à 3 mm.

• Le peigne mi-court (numéro 2) coupe les cheveux à 6 mm.

• Le peigne mi-long (numéro 3) coupe les cheveux à 9 mm.

• Le peigne long (numéro 4) coupe les cheveux à 12 mm. •

Le peigne long (numéro 5) coupe les cheveux à 1,6 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 6) coupe les cheveux à 1,9 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 7) coupe les cheveux à 2,25 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 8) coupe les cheveux à 2,5 cm.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille gauche est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille gauge.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille droite est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille droite.

Poser le peigne en le tenant par les dents

pour enclen-cher sa base sur les lames.

Pour enlever le peigne, placer l’index et

le pouce comme illustré et pousser le

peigne en soulevant.

cheveux plus cours :

A) Presser le peigne

plus fortement contre l a

tête, ce qui

demande un peu plus

de pratique.

B) Passer à un peigne

plus court. Il est préférable de laisser les

cheveux trop longs que trop courts. Pour des

cheveux plus longs sur le dessus, utiliser le

peigne de coiffeur pour soulever les cheveux,

les coupant

par-dessus le peigne. Encore,

tenir les cheveux entre les doigts et les

couper à la longueur voulue.

l’avant vers l’arrière de

la tête, raccourcissant

les cheveux graduelle-

ment en réduisant

l’es-pace entre le

peigne ou les doigts et

la tête. Peigner sou-

vent pour constater les

résultats et enlever les cheveux coupés. Pour

des cheveux plus épais et plus de puissance,

appuyez sur le bouton de turbo sur le côté.

DÉLIGNAGE

Le délignage se fait sans peigne. Peigner

les cheveux puis placer la tondeuse entre le

favori et l’oreille (ill. 1). Tenir le coin de la

lame contre la ligne des cheveux.

Utilisant la ligne comme guide, passer la

tondeuse lentement autour de l’oreille.

Pour la nuque et les favoris, tenir la ton-

deuse inversée (ill. 1) et la presser légère-

ment contre la peau, à la longueur voulue,

déplaçant la tondeuse vers le bas.

Pour des résultats professionnels, peigner

souvent et vérifier les résultats. On évite

ainsi les favoris inégaux, la nuque inégale,

etc.

CONSEILS POUR DES COUPES À

RAS PARFAITES.

Toujours couper du bas de la nuque

jusqu’à la couronne, utilisant le peigne le

plus long. Tenir le peigne à plat contre la

tête et déplacer la tondeuse lentement à

travers les cheveux. Procéder de même

pour les côtés, allant de bas en haut.

Du front à la couronne, couper les cheveux

dans le sens inverse de la pousse puis

égaliser avec les côtés.

Pour un dessus plat, utiliser un peigne plat

et non le peigne de la tondeuse. Couper les

cheveux par-dessus le peigne (ill. 2). Pour

dégrader la nuque, utilisez le peigne n° 1.

Peigner pour voir s’il y a des inégalités.

La tondeuse est munie d’un jeu de lames

amovible pour faciliter l’entretien, le net-

toyage et le remplacement.

Pour enlever les lames, tenez le devant de

la tondeuse face à vous, poussez sous la

lame avec le pouce et elle se détachera.

Pour remettre la lame, assurez-vous que le

levier d’effilage se trouve à la position la

plus longue, le dos de la tondeuse face à

vous. Insérez le bas (avec les vis) de la

lame sur la tondeuse et poussez jusqu’à ce

que la lame s’enclenche en position.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et

après l'utilisation afind'assurer un rende-

ment optimal. Tenez la tondeuse loin du

corps, vers lebas, et appliquez une goutte

d'huile sur le devant et chaque des

lames.Essuyez l'excédent avec un chiffon

doux et sec.

Tout autre entretien devrait être effectué par un

centre de service après-vente agréé. La ton-

deuse ne contient aucune pièce qui peut être

réparée par l’utilisateur. Le produit ne convient

que pour l’usage ménager. Ne tordez ni le tirez

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is

free of hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is

running smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of

the person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at

your eye level. This gives you greater visi-

bility and control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re

ready to cut.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number

2) cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number

3) cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts

hair to 1/2”.

• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts

hair to 5/8”.

To remove comb attachments, place index

finger and thumb as illustrated; then pull

out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be

combed in its natural

direction.

2. Using the largest

attachment comb,

trim sides from the

bottom upwards. Hold

clipper lightly against

the hair with teeth of

the attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little

at a time. Repeat

around sides and back

of head.

3. If you want hair to

be even shorter:

Apply more pressure

to the head with the

attachment comb that

is in place. This takes

a little practice, of

course. Or, just

switch to a shorter

attachment comb. Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top,

use the barber comb

and lift hair on the top

of the head, cutting

over the comb, or

hold hair between fin-

gers and cut to

desired length. Always

working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut

the hair shorter by reducing the space

between the comb or fingers and the head.

Comb often to check for uneven strands,

and to get rid of trimmed hair. For thicker

hair and more cutting power, press the turbo

button on the side.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

the hair into the desired style, Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see sketch) and make sure the corner

edge of the blade is against the hairline.

With the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see sketch) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb the hair often and check results

as you comb. This way you can avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT

TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut the hair from the back of the

neck toward the crown, using the longest

comb setting. Hold the comb attachment

flat against the head and slowly move the

clipper up through the hair. Use the same

technique for the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of the head.

For the front of the crown, cut the hair

against its natural direction. Then even it

up with the sides.

For a flat top use a flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut top hair by

running the clipper over the comb.

To taper hair down to the neckline, use the

lower settings attachment comb. Comb the

hair and check for uneven spots. Outline the

sideburns and neckline areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: the front of the clip-

per should be facing you, push up under

the blade with your thumb and the blade

will pop-out.

To replace the blade: Make sure the taper

control is set to the longest position and

with the back of the clipper facing you,

insert the bottom side (with screws) of the

blade into the clipper and push down until

it snaps into place.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-

ing and after use. This will ensure maxi-

mum cutting performance. Hold clipper

awayfrom your body in a downward posi-

tion and apply oil on the front and sides of

the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a

soft, dry cloth.

Any other servicing should be performed by an

authorized service representative or that the

appliance has no user serviceable parts. The

UTILISATION SUR PILES

La trousse de coupe de cheveux Conair

permet des résultats professionnels, à la

maison. La puissante tondeuse à moteur CC

et lames en acier à forte teneur en carbone

assurent une coupe de précision. La tête

s’ajuste sous 5 angles et une fonction turbo

amplifie la puissance de coupe. Quelle que

soit la longueur de coupe réglée, la tondeuse

coupe automatiquement les cheveux de

cette section de la même longueur.

Cet appareil est conçu pour l’usage ménager,

sur courant alternatif (120 V, 60 Hz).

1. Avant de l’utiliser, chargez la tondeuse

pendant 16 heures.

2. Après l’utilisation, éteignez la tondeuse et

rechargez-en les piles en connectant le fil

de charge dans la prise de la tondeuse et

l’adaptateur dans une prise de courant. Le

témoin de charge s’allume pour indiquer

que la charge se fait.

3. Une fois la tondeuse rechargée, rangez-

la en lieu sec, hors de la portée des enfants.

4. N’enroulez pas le fil autour de la

tondeuse.

UTILISATION BRANCHÉE

1. Connectez le fil de charge dans la prise

de la tondeuse.

2. Connectez l’adaptateur dans une prise de

courant.

3. Laissez d’abord la tondeuse éteinte

quelques minutes pour qu’elle se charge.

4. Allumez la tondeuse.

5. Déconnectez l’adaptateur après l’usage.

6. Après l’usage, rangez-la en lieu sec, hors

de la portée des enfants.

7. N’enroulez pas le fil autour de la

tondeuse.

REMPLACEMENT DU BLOC-PILES

1. À l’aide d’un petit tournevis Phillips,

enlevez la vis dans le bas, au dos du

manche de la tondeuse.

2. Enlevez le dessus du manche.

3. Le bloc-piles est exposé. Tenez les fils

solidement de part et d’autre du connecteur

et coupez les fils. Le connecteur se sépare et

vous pouvez retirer le bloc-piles. Amenez-le

au centre de collecte régional ou composez

le numéro sans frais de RBRC : 1-800-8-

BATTERY. RBRC est une marque de com-

Ne jetez pas le bloc-piles avec les ordures

ménagères. N’utilisez jamais le fil pour tirer

la tondeuse et ne tordez ni ne pincez-le fil.

utilisez un serre-fil.

La tondeuse est fournie avec 10 peignes

pour différentes longueurs de coupe, des

ciseaux de coiffeur, un peigne de coiffeur à

dents droites, une cape de pleine longueur,

DES CHEVEUX À LA MAISON

Avant tout :

1. Inspecter la tondeuse, s’assurer qu’elle

est propre, bien huilée et qu’elle

fonctionne bien.

2. Placer une serviette ou une cape autour

du cou de la personne.

3. Asseoir la personne de façon à ce que sa

tête soit au niveau des yeux pour plus de

stabilité et de contrôle.

4. Peigner les cheveux puis saisir la

tondeuse d’une façon confortable. Tout est

prêt pour la coupe.

COUPE MOYENNE À LONGUE

Commencer par une petite section de

cheveux pour s’habituer à la longueur lais-

sée par la tondeuse. Débuter avec le peigne

le plus long pour ensuite passer à un

peigne plus court si l’on désire couper les

cheveux plus courts.

• Le peigne court (numéro 1) coupe les cheveux à 3 mm.

• Le peigne mi-court (numéro 2) coupe les cheveux à 6 mm.

• Le peigne mi-long (numéro 3) coupe les cheveux à 9 mm.

• Le peigne long (numéro 4) coupe les cheveux à 12 mm. •

Le peigne long (numéro 5) coupe les cheveux à 1,6 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 6) coupe les cheveux à 1,9 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 7) coupe les cheveux à 2,25 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 8) coupe les cheveux à 2,5 cm.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille gauche est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille gauge.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille droite est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille droite.

Poser le peigne en le tenant par les dents

pour enclen-cher sa base sur les lames.

Pour enlever le peigne, placer l’index et

le pouce comme illustré et pousser le

peigne en soulevant.

REMARQUE : Ne

jamais pousser ni

forcer la tondeuse à

travers les cheveux

pour aller plus vite.

Pour commencer la coupe :

1. Peigner les cheveux

dans le sens naturel de

la pousse.

2. Avec le peigne long,

découper les côtés, de

base en haut. Tenir la

tondeuse légèrement

contre les cheveux, les

dents du peigne

pointant vers le haut,

mais à plat contre la

tête. Soulever la

tondeuse graduelle-

ment vers le haut et

l’extérieur, ne coupant

qu’un peu de cheveux à

la fois.

Procéder ainsi pour les

côtés et l’arrière de la

tête.

Pour couper les

cheveux plus cours :

A) Presser le peigne

plus fortement contre l a

tête, ce qui

demande un peu plus

de pratique.

B) Passer à un peigne

plus court. Il est préférable de laisser les

cheveux trop longs que trop courts. Pour des

cheveux plus longs sur le dessus, utiliser le

peigne de coiffeur pour soulever les cheveux,

les coupant

par-dessus le peigne. Encore,

tenir les cheveux entre les doigts et les

couper à la longueur voulue.

Toujours couper de

l’avant vers l’arrière de

la tête, raccourcissant

les cheveux graduelle-

ment en réduisant

l’es-pace entre le

peigne ou les doigts et

la tête. Peigner sou-

vent pour constater les

résultats et enlever les cheveux coupés. Pour

des cheveux plus épais et plus de puissance,

appuyez sur le bouton de turbo sur le côté.

DÉLIGNAGE

Le délignage se fait sans peigne. Peigner

les cheveux puis placer la tondeuse entre le

favori et l’oreille (ill. 1). Tenir le coin de la

lame contre la ligne des cheveux.

Utilisant la ligne comme guide, passer la

tondeuse lentement autour de l’oreille.

Pour la nuque et les favoris, tenir la ton-

deuse inversée (ill. 1) et la presser légère-

ment contre la peau, à la longueur voulue,

déplaçant la tondeuse vers le bas.

ARRÊTER. PEIGNER. VÉRIFIER.

Pour des résultats professionnels, peigner

souvent et vérifier les résultats. On évite

ainsi les favoris inégaux, la nuque inégale,

etc.

CONSEILS POUR DES COUPES À

RAS PARFAITES.

Toujours couper du bas de la nuque

jusqu’à la couronne, utilisant le peigne le

plus long. Tenir le peigne à plat contre la

tête et déplacer la tondeuse lentement à

travers les cheveux. Procéder de même

pour les côtés, allant de bas en haut.

Du front à la couronne, couper les cheveux

dans le sens inverse de la pousse puis

égaliser avec les côtés.

Pour un dessus plat, utiliser un peigne plat

et non le peigne de la tondeuse. Couper les

cheveux par-dessus le peigne (ill. 2). Pour

dégrader la nuque, utilisez le peigne n° 1.

Peigner pour voir s’il y a des inégalités.

Découper les favoris et la nuque

JEU DE LAMES AMOVIBLE

La tondeuse est munie d’un jeu de lames

amovible pour faciliter l’entretien, le net-

toyage et le remplacement.

Pour enlever les lames, tenez le devant de

la tondeuse face à vous, poussez sous la

lame avec le pouce et elle se détachera.

Pour remettre la lame, assurez-vous que le

levier d’effilage se trouve à la position la

plus longue, le dos de la tondeuse face à

vous. Insérez le bas (avec les vis) de la

lame sur la tondeuse et poussez jusqu’à ce

que la lame s’enclenche en position.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et

après l'utilisation afind'assurer un rende-

ment optimal. Tenez la tondeuse loin du

corps, vers lebas, et appliquez une goutte

d'huile sur le devant et chaque des

lames.Essuyez l'excédent avec un chiffon

doux et sec.

Tout autre entretien devrait être effectué par un

centre de service après-vente agréé. La ton-

deuse ne contient aucune pièce qui peut être

réparée par l’utilisateur. Le produit ne convient

que pour l’usage ménager. Ne tordez ni le tirez

le fil de la tondeuse. N’enroulez pas le fil autour

de la tondeuse.

Comme chaque position utilise un bord de

coupe différent, le levier prolonge la durée

utile des lames. Les cheveux bourrés dans

les lames peuvent ralentir la tondeuse. Pour

désembourber la tondeuse sans enlever les

lames, utilisez une petite brosse et nettoyez

les lames. En faisant ainsi après chaque

coupe, surtout avec les personnes aux

cheveux épais, les lames resteront bien

affûtées plus longtemps. Si la tondeuse ne

coupe pas bien et qu’un nettoyage ne

change rien, vous devrez alors desserrer les

lames pour les nettoyer à fond.

REMARQUE :

Ne tirez jamais le fil de la

tondeuse. Ne le tordez pas et ne l’enroulez

pas autour de la tondeuse. Placez-la ton-

deuse à plat, le fil enroulé à côté quand

vous ne l’utilisez pas.

HUILE SPÉCIALE

Pour garder les lames de la tondeuse

Conair

en bon état, il faut les huiler à toutes

les trois ou quatre coupes. Placer quelques

gouttes d’huile sur les dents des lames,

utilisant l’huile spéciale Conair

fournie.

Faire fonctionner la tondeuse une minute.

L’huile naturelle légère est spécialement

conçue pour la tondeuse Conair

haute

vitesse. Ne pas utiliser d’autres huiles car

elles peuvent ralentir les lames. Il n’y a pas

Comme sur une tondeuse professionnelle, le

levier de coupe s’ajuste par l’action du

pouce. Vous pouvez tenir la tondeuse d’une

main et l’ajuster en même temps, tout en

tondant. Le levier élimine le besoin, dans

certains cas, d’utiliser une griffe, car il ajuste

les lames graduellement en fonction de la

will leave hair about the same length as the

short attachment comb.

Because a different cutting edge is used in

each setting, the taper lever lengthens the

life of your blades. Packed-in hair can slow

down any clipper. To remove it, without

removing the blades. Take your cleaning

brush and brush the hair from the blades. If

you do this after every clipping, especially

with heavy hair cutting, the blades should

remain free of cut hair. If clipper stops cut-

ting and this action doesn’t help, you might

have to loosen the blades to remove the hair.

NOTE:

Never pull on the clipper cord.

Never twist or wrap the cord around the

clipper; lay it flat with the cord coiled up

when not in use.

SPECIAL OIL

To maintain the blades of your Conair

clipper in peak condition, oil them after

every three or four haircuts. Gently place a

few drops of oil on the teeth of the blades,

using the special Conair oil included with

your set. Turn the clipper on for a

minute,then turn off. This light, natural oil

was formulated specifically for the Conair

les lames peuvent ralentir la tondeuse. Pour

désembourber la tondeuse sans enlever les

will leave hair about the same length as the

short attachment comb.

Because a different cutting edge is used in

each setting, the taper lever lengthens the

life of your blades. Packed-in hair can slow

down any clipper. To remove it, without

removing the blades. Take your cleaning

brush and brush the hair from the blades. If

you do this after every clipping, especially

with heavy hair cutting, the blades should

remain free of cut hair. If clipper stops cut-

ting and this action doesn’t help, you might

have to loosen the blades to remove the hair.

NOTE:

Never pull on the clipper cord.

Never twist or wrap the cord around the

clipper; lay it flat with the cord coiled up

when not in use.

SPECIAL OIL

To maintain the blades of your Conair

clipper in peak condition, oil them after

every three or four haircuts. Gently place a

few drops of oil on the teeth of the blades,

using the special Conair oil included with

your set. Turn the clipper on for a

minute,then turn off. This light, natural oil

was formulated specifically for the Conair

high-speed clipper. Because it is the right

oil to use, it will not slow down the blades.

APPLICATION

Your new Conair Haircut Kit has everything

you need to achieve professional haircuts

at home. Its powerful D.C. motor clipper

with High Stainless Steel blades for long

lasting cutting precision, features a new 5-

position adjustamatic taper control. Plus,

Turbo button for more cutting power.

Whatever hair length you set the lever for,

the clipper will automatically cut all hair in

that section at the same desired length.

This appliance is intended for household

use. Use on Alternating Current (120V 60

hertz) only.

1. Before use, the clipper must be fully

charged for 16 hours.

2. After use, turn the switch to “Off”

position. Recharge batteries by connecting

the charging jack into the receptacle at the

end of the clipper and plugging the adapter

unit into the electrical outlet. The charging

indicator lamp will light up to indicate that

charging has begun.

3. After recharging, store in a dry place,

away from small children.

4. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

FOR DIRECT PLUG-IN OPERATION

1. Connect the charging jack into the recep-

tacle at the end of the clipper.

2. Plug the adapter unit into the electric out-

let.

3. Turn the switch to “Off” position, let the

clipper charged for few minutes first.

4. Turn the switch to “On” position.

5. Unplug the adapter unit after use.

6. After use, store in a dry place away from

small children.

7. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

BATTERY REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using a small Phillips screwdriver,

remove the screw on the bottom housing at

back of the clipper.

2. Remove the top housing by hand.

3. Now the battery is exposed so you can

separate the wire connectors. Carefully hold

the wires on each side of the connector and

gently cut the wires. The connector will sep-

arate and the batteries can be removed from

the inner housing. Bring the battery to the

nearest collection center for disposal or call

the toll-free RBRC information line at 1-800-

8-BATTERY. RBRC is a trademark of The

Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Corporation. DO NOT throw the batteries

into the normal municipal waste system.

Never use cord to pull clipper.Never twist or

otherwise obstruct cord. To store, coil cord

loosely and secure with a twist tie.

Also included are 10 attachment combs for

different hair lengths, barber scissors, a

barber comb with straight teeth, a full

length barber cape, a neck brush, a hard

case for easy storage, and a styling comb.

It also comes with lubricating oil, a cleaning

brush, adaptator and a blade guard for easy

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is

free of hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is

running smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of

the person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at

your eye level. This gives you greater visi-

bility and control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re

ready to cut.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number

2) cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number

3) cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts

hair to 1/2”.

• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts

hair to 5/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts

hair to 3/4”.

• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts

hair to 7/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 8) cuts

To remove comb attachments, place index

finger and thumb as illustrated; then pull

out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be

combed in its natural

direction.

2. Using the largest

attachment comb,

trim sides from the

bottom upwards. Hold

clipper lightly against

the hair with teeth of

the attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little

at a time. Repeat

around sides and back

of head.

3. If you want hair to

be even shorter:

Apply more pressure

to the head with the

attachment comb that

is in place. This takes

a little practice, of

course. Or, just

switch to a shorter

attachment comb. Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top,

use the barber comb

and lift hair on the top

of the head, cutting

over the comb, or

hold hair between fin-

gers and cut to

desired length. Always

working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut

the hair shorter by reducing the space

between the comb or fingers and the head.

Comb often to check for uneven strands,

and to get rid of trimmed hair. For thicker

hair and more cutting power, press the turbo

button on the side.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

the hair into the desired style, Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see sketch) and make sure the corner

edge of the blade is against the hairline.

With the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see sketch) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb the hair often and check results

as you comb. This way you can avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT

TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut the hair from the back of the

neck toward the crown, using the longest

comb setting. Hold the comb attachment

flat against the head and slowly move the

clipper up through the hair. Use the same

technique for the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of the head.

For the front of the crown, cut the hair

against its natural direction. Then even it

up with the sides.

For a flat top use a flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut top hair by

running the clipper over the comb.

To taper hair down to the neckline, use the

lower settings attachment comb. Comb the

hair and check for uneven spots. Outline the

sideburns and neckline areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: the front of the clip-

per should be facing you, push up under

the blade with your thumb and the blade

will pop-out.

To replace the blade: Make sure the taper

control is set to the longest position and

with the back of the clipper facing you,

insert the bottom side (with screws) of the

blade into the clipper and push down until

it snaps into place.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-

ing and after use. This will ensure maxi-

mum cutting performance. Hold clipper

awayfrom your body in a downward posi-

tion and apply oil on the front and sides of

the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a

soft, dry cloth.

Any other servicing should be performed by an

authorized service representative or that the

appliance has no user serviceable parts. The

product is for household use. Do not pull, twist,

or wrap line cord around appliance

La trousse de coupe de cheveux Conair

Cet appareil est conçu pour l’usage ménager,

1. Avant de l’utiliser, chargez la tondeuse

pendant 16 heures.

2. Après l’utilisation, éteignez la tondeuse et

rechargez-en les piles en connectant le fil

de charge dans la prise de la tondeuse et

l’adaptateur dans une prise de courant. Le

témoin de charge s’allume pour indiquer

que la charge se fait.

Avant tout :

1. Inspecter la tondeuse, s’assurer qu’elle

est propre, bien huilée et qu’elle

fonctionne bien.

2. Placer une serviette ou une cape autour

du cou de la personne.

3. Asseoir la personne de façon à ce que sa

tête soit au niveau des yeux pour plus de

stabilité et de contrôle.

4. Peigner les cheveux puis saisir la

tondeuse d’une façon confortable. Tout est

prêt pour la coupe.

COUPE MOYENNE À LONGUE

Commencer par une petite section de

cheveux pour s’habituer à la longueur lais-

sée par la tondeuse. Débuter avec le peigne

le plus long pour ensuite passer à un

peigne plus court si l’on désire couper les

cheveux plus courts.

• Le peigne court (numéro 1) coupe les cheveux à 3 mm.

• Le peigne mi-court (numéro 2) coupe les cheveux à 6 mm.

• Le peigne mi-long (numéro 3) coupe les cheveux à 9 mm.

• Le peigne long (numéro 4) coupe les cheveux à 12 mm. •

Le peigne long (numéro 5) coupe les cheveux à 1,6 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 6) coupe les cheveux à 1,9 cm

• Le peigne pour l’oreille gauche est légèrement incliné pour

Poser le peigne en le tenant par les dents

pour enclen-cher sa base sur les lames.

Pour enlever le peigne, placer l’index et

le pouce comme illustré et pousser le

peigne en soulevant.

Pour commencer la coupe :

A) Presser le peigne

B) Passer à un peigne

plus court. Il est préférable de laisser les

cheveux trop longs que trop courts. Pour des

cheveux plus longs sur le dessus, utiliser le

peigne de coiffeur pour soulever les cheveux,

les coupant

par-dessus le peigne. Encore,

tenir les cheveux entre les doigts et les

couper à la longueur voulue.

la tête, raccourcissant

ment en réduisant

vent pour constater les

DÉLIGNAGE

Le délignage se fait sans peigne. Peigner

les cheveux puis placer la tondeuse entre le

favori et l’oreille (ill. 1). Tenir le coin de la

lame contre la ligne des cheveux.

Utilisant la ligne comme guide, passer la

tondeuse lentement autour de l’oreille.

Pour la nuque et les favoris, tenir la ton-

deuse inversée (ill. 1) et la presser légère-

ment contre la peau, à la longueur voulue,

déplaçant la tondeuse vers le bas.

Pour des résultats professionnels, peigner

souvent et vérifier les résultats. On évite

ainsi les favoris inégaux, la nuque inégale,

etc.

RAS PARFAITES.

Toujours couper du bas de la nuque

jusqu’à la couronne, utilisant le peigne le

plus long. Tenir le peigne à plat contre la

tête et déplacer la tondeuse lentement à

travers les cheveux. Procéder de même

pour les côtés, allant de bas en haut.

Du front à la couronne, couper les cheveux

dans le sens inverse de la pousse puis

égaliser avec les côtés.

Pour un dessus plat, utiliser un peigne plat

et non le peigne de la tondeuse. Couper les

cheveux par-dessus le peigne (ill. 2). Pour

dégrader la nuque, utilisez le peigne n° 1.

Peigner pour voir s’il y a des inégalités.

ENTRETIEN DE LA TONDEUSE

JEU DE LAMES AMOVIBLE

La tondeuse est munie d’un jeu de lames

amovible pour faciliter l’entretien, le net-

toyage et le remplacement.

Pour enlever les lames, tenez le devant de

la tondeuse face à vous, poussez sous la

lame avec le pouce et elle se détachera.

Pour remettre la lame, assurez-vous que le

levier d’effilage se trouve à la position la

plus longue, le dos de la tondeuse face à

vous. Insérez le bas (avec les vis) de la

lame sur la tondeuse et poussez jusqu’à ce

que la lame s’enclenche en position.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et

après l'utilisation afind'assurer un rende-

ment optimal. Tenez la tondeuse loin du

corps, vers lebas, et appliquez une goutte

d'huile sur le devant et chaque des

lames.Essuyez l'excédent avec un chiffon

doux et sec.

Tout autre entretien devrait être effectué par un

centre de service après-vente agréé. La ton-

deuse ne contient aucune pièce qui peut être

réparée par l’utilisateur. Le produit ne convient

que pour l’usage ménager. Ne tordez ni le tirez

le fil de la tondeuse. N’enroulez pas le fil autour

Your new Conair Haircut Kit has everything

you need to achieve professional haircuts

at home. Its powerful D.C. motor clipper

with High Stainless Steel blades for long

lasting cutting precision, features a new 5-

position adjustamatic taper control. Plus,

Whatever hair length you set the lever for,

the clipper will automatically cut all hair in

that section at the same desired length.

This appliance is intended for household

use. Use on Alternating Current (120V 60

hertz) only.

1. Before use, the clipper must be fully

charged for 16 hours.

2. After use, turn the switch to “Off”

position. Recharge batteries by connecting

the charging jack into the receptacle at the

end of the clipper and plugging the adapter

unit into the electrical outlet. The charging

indicator lamp will light up to indicate that

charging has begun.

3. After recharging, store in a dry place,

away from small children.

4. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

BATTERY REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using a small Phillips screwdriver,

remove the screw on the bottom housing at

back of the clipper.

2. Remove the top housing by hand.

3. Now the battery is exposed so you can

separate the wire connectors. Carefully hold

the wires on each side of the connector and

gently cut the wires. The connector will sep-

arate and the batteries can be removed from

the inner housing. Bring the battery to the

nearest collection center for disposal or call

the toll-free RBRC information line at 1-800-

8-BATTERY. RBRC is a trademark of The

Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Corporation. DO NOT throw the batteries

into the normal municipal waste system.

Never use cord to pull clipper.Never twist or

otherwise obstruct cord. To store, coil cord

loosely and secure with a twist tie.

Also included are 10 attachment combs for

different hair lengths, barber scissors, a

barber comb with straight teeth, a full

length barber cape, a neck brush, a hard

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is

free of hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is

running smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of

the person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at

your eye level. This gives you greater visi-

bility and control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re

ready to cut.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number

2) cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number

3) cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts

hair to 1/2”.

• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts

hair to 5/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts

hair to 3/4”.

• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts

To remove comb attachments, place index

finger and thumb as illustrated; then pull

out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be

combed in its natural

direction.

2. Using the largest

attachment comb,

trim sides from the

bottom upwards. Hold

clipper lightly against

the hair with teeth of

the attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little

at a time. Repeat

around sides and back

of head.

3. If you want hair to

be even shorter:

Apply more pressure

to the head with the

attachment comb that

is in place. This takes

a little practice, of

course. Or, just

switch to a shorter

attachment comb. Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top,

use the barber comb

and lift hair on the top

of the head, cutting

over the comb, or

hold hair between fin-

gers and cut to

desired length. Always

working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut

the hair shorter by reducing the space

between the comb or fingers and the head.

Comb often to check for uneven strands,

and to get rid of trimmed hair. For thicker

hair and more cutting power, press the turbo

button on the side.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

the hair into the desired style, Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see sketch) and make sure the corner

edge of the blade is against the hairline.

With the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see sketch) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb the hair often and check results

as you comb. This way you can avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT

TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut the hair from the back of the

neck toward the crown, using the longest

comb setting. Hold the comb attachment

flat against the head and slowly move the

clipper up through the hair. Use the same

technique for the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of the head.

For the front of the crown, cut the hair

against its natural direction. Then even it

up with the sides.

For a flat top use a flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut top hair by

running the clipper over the comb.

To taper hair down to the neckline, use the

lower settings attachment comb. Comb the

hair and check for uneven spots. Outline the

sideburns and neckline areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: the front of the clip-

per should be facing you, push up under

the blade with your thumb and the blade

will pop-out.

To replace the blade: Make sure the taper

control is set to the longest position and

with the back of the clipper facing you,

insert the bottom side (with screws) of the

blade into the clipper and push down until

it snaps into place.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-

ing and after use. This will ensure maxi-

mum cutting performance. Hold clipper

awayfrom your body in a downward posi-

tion and apply oil on the front and sides of

the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a

soft, dry cloth.

Any other servicing should be performed by an

authorized service representative or that the

appliance has no user serviceable parts. The

Avant tout :

1. Inspecter la tondeuse, s’assurer qu’elle

est propre, bien huilée et qu’elle

fonctionne bien.

2. Placer une serviette ou une cape autour

du cou de la personne.

3. Asseoir la personne de façon à ce que sa

tête soit au niveau des yeux pour plus de

stabilité et de contrôle.

4. Peigner les cheveux puis saisir la

tondeuse d’une façon confortable. Tout est

prêt pour la coupe.

COUPE MOYENNE À LONGUE

Commencer par une petite section de

cheveux pour s’habituer à la longueur lais-

sée par la tondeuse. Débuter avec le peigne

le plus long pour ensuite passer à un

peigne plus court si l’on désire couper les

cheveux plus courts.

• Le peigne court (numéro 1) coupe les cheveux à 3 mm.

• Le peigne mi-court (numéro 2) coupe les cheveux à 6 mm.

• Le peigne mi-long (numéro 3) coupe les cheveux à 9 mm.

• Le peigne long (numéro 4) coupe les cheveux à 12 mm. •

Le peigne long (numéro 5) coupe les cheveux à 1,6 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 6) coupe les cheveux à 1,9 cm

• Le peigne long (numéro 7) coupe les cheveux à 2,25 cm

• Le peigne pour l’oreille gauche est légèrement incliné pour

contourner l’oreille gauge.

• Le peigne pour l’oreille droite est légèrement incliné pour

Poser le peigne en le tenant par les dents

pour enclen-cher sa base sur les lames.

Pour enlever le peigne, placer l’index et

le pouce comme illustré et pousser le

peigne en soulevant.

Pour commencer la coupe :

1. Peigner les cheveux

dans le sens naturel de

la pousse.

2. Avec le peigne long,

découper les côtés, de

base en haut. Tenir la

tondeuse légèrement

contre les cheveux, les

dents du peigne

pointant vers le haut,

mais à plat contre la

tête. Soulever la

tondeuse graduelle-

ment vers le haut et

l’extérieur, ne coupant

qu’un peu de cheveux à

la fois.

Procéder ainsi pour les

côtés et l’arrière de la

tête.

Pour couper les

cheveux plus cours :

A) Presser le peigne

plus fortement contre l a

tête, ce qui

demande un peu plus

de pratique.

B) Passer à un peigne

plus court. Il est préférable de laisser les

cheveux trop longs que trop courts. Pour des

cheveux plus longs sur le dessus, utiliser le

peigne de coiffeur pour soulever les cheveux,

les coupant

par-dessus le peigne. Encore,

tenir les cheveux entre les doigts et les

couper à la longueur voulue.

l’avant vers l’arrière de

la tête, raccourcissant

les cheveux graduelle-

ment en réduisant

l’es-pace entre le

peigne ou les doigts et

la tête. Peigner sou-

vent pour constater les

résultats et enlever les cheveux coupés. Pour

des cheveux plus épais et plus de puissance,

appuyez sur le bouton de turbo sur le côté.

DÉLIGNAGE

Le délignage se fait sans peigne. Peigner

les cheveux puis placer la tondeuse entre le

favori et l’oreille (ill. 1). Tenir le coin de la

lame contre la ligne des cheveux.

Utilisant la ligne comme guide, passer la

tondeuse lentement autour de l’oreille.

Pour la nuque et les favoris, tenir la ton-

deuse inversée (ill. 1) et la presser légère-

ment contre la peau, à la longueur voulue,

déplaçant la tondeuse vers le bas.

Pour des résultats professionnels, peigner

souvent et vérifier les résultats. On évite

ainsi les favoris inégaux, la nuque inégale,

etc.

CONSEILS POUR DES COUPES À

RAS PARFAITES.

Toujours couper du bas de la nuque

jusqu’à la couronne, utilisant le peigne le

plus long. Tenir le peigne à plat contre la

tête et déplacer la tondeuse lentement à

travers les cheveux. Procéder de même

pour les côtés, allant de bas en haut.

Du front à la couronne, couper les cheveux

dans le sens inverse de la pousse puis

égaliser avec les côtés.

Pour un dessus plat, utiliser un peigne plat

et non le peigne de la tondeuse. Couper les

cheveux par-dessus le peigne (ill. 2). Pour

dégrader la nuque, utilisez le peigne n° 1.

Peigner pour voir s’il y a des inégalités.

JEU DE LAMES AMOVIBLE

La tondeuse est munie d’un jeu de lames

amovible pour faciliter l’entretien, le net-

toyage et le remplacement.

Pour enlever les lames, tenez le devant de

la tondeuse face à vous, poussez sous la

lame avec le pouce et elle se détachera.

Pour remettre la lame, assurez-vous que le

levier d’effilage se trouve à la position la

plus longue, le dos de la tondeuse face à

vous. Insérez le bas (avec les vis) de la

lame sur la tondeuse et poussez jusqu’à ce

que la lame s’enclenche en position.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et

après l'utilisation afind'assurer un rende-

ment optimal. Tenez la tondeuse loin du

corps, vers lebas, et appliquez une goutte

d'huile sur le devant et chaque des

lames.Essuyez l'excédent avec un chiffon

doux et sec.

Tout autre entretien devrait être effectué par un

centre de service après-vente agréé. La ton-

deuse ne contient aucune pièce qui peut être

réparée par l’utilisateur. Le produit ne convient

que pour l’usage ménager. Ne tordez ni le tirez

le fil de la tondeuse. N’enroulez pas le fil autour

Your new Conair Haircut Kit has everything

you need to achieve professional haircuts

at home. Its powerful D.C. motor clipper

with High Stainless Steel blades for long

lasting cutting precision, features a new 5-

position adjustamatic taper control. Plus,

Turbo button for more cutting power.

Whatever hair length you set the lever for,

the clipper will automatically cut all hair in

that section at the same desired length.

This appliance is intended for household

use. Use on Alternating Current (120V 60

hertz) only.

1. Before use, the clipper must be fully

charged for 16 hours.

2. After use, turn the switch to “Off”

position. Recharge batteries by connecting

the charging jack into the receptacle at the

end of the clipper and plugging the adapter

unit into the electrical outlet. The charging

indicator lamp will light up to indicate that

charging has begun.

3. After recharging, store in a dry place,

away from small children.

4. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

FOR DIRECT PLUG-IN OPERATION

1. Connect the charging jack into the recep-

tacle at the end of the clipper.

2. Plug the adapter unit into the electric out-

let.

3. Turn the switch to “Off” position, let the

BATTERY REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using a small Phillips screwdriver,

remove the screw on the bottom housing at

back of the clipper.

2. Remove the top housing by hand.

3. Now the battery is exposed so you can

separate the wire connectors. Carefully hold

the wires on each side of the connector and

gently cut the wires. The connector will sep-

arate and the batteries can be removed from

the inner housing. Bring the battery to the

nearest collection center for disposal or call

the toll-free RBRC information line at 1-800-

8-BATTERY. RBRC is a trademark of The

Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Corporation. DO NOT throw the batteries

into the normal municipal waste system.

Never use cord to pull clipper.Never twist or

otherwise obstruct cord. To store, coil cord

loosely and secure with a twist tie.

Also included are 10 attachment combs for

different hair lengths, barber scissors, a

barber comb with straight teeth, a full

length barber cape, a neck brush, a hard

case for easy storage, and a styling comb.

It also comes with lubricating oil, a cleaning

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is

free of hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is

running smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of

the person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at

your eye level. This gives you greater visi-

bility and control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re

ready to cut.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number

2) cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number

3) cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts

hair to 1/2”.

• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts

hair to 5/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts

hair to 3/4”.

• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts

hair to 7/8”.

To remove comb attachments, place index

finger and thumb as illustrated; then pull

out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be

combed in its natural

direction.

2. Using the largest

attachment comb,

trim sides from the

bottom upwards. Hold

clipper lightly against

the hair with teeth of

the attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little

at a time. Repeat

around sides and back

of head.

3. If you want hair to

be even shorter:

Apply more pressure

to the head with the

attachment comb that

is in place. This takes

a little practice, of

course. Or, just

switch to a shorter

attachment comb. Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top,

use the barber comb

and lift hair on the top

of the head, cutting

over the comb, or

hold hair between fin-

gers and cut to

desired length. Always

working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut

the hair shorter by reducing the space

between the comb or fingers and the head.

Comb often to check for uneven strands,

and to get rid of trimmed hair. For thicker

hair and more cutting power, press the turbo

button on the side.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

the hair into the desired style, Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see sketch) and make sure the corner

edge of the blade is against the hairline.

With the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see sketch) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb the hair often and check results

as you comb. This way you can avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT

TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut the hair from the back of the

neck toward the crown, using the longest

comb setting. Hold the comb attachment

flat against the head and slowly move the

clipper up through the hair. Use the same

technique for the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of the head.

For the front of the crown, cut the hair

against its natural direction. Then even it

up with the sides.

For a flat top use a flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut top hair by

running the clipper over the comb.

To taper hair down to the neckline, use the

lower settings attachment comb. Comb the

hair and check for uneven spots. Outline the

sideburns and neckline areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: the front of the clip-

per should be facing you, push up under

the blade with your thumb and the blade

will pop-out.

To replace the blade: Make sure the taper

control is set to the longest position and

with the back of the clipper facing you,

insert the bottom side (with screws) of the

blade into the clipper and push down until

it snaps into place.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-

ing and after use. This will ensure maxi-

mum cutting performance. Hold clipper

awayfrom your body in a downward posi-

tion and apply oil on the front and sides of

the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a

soft, dry cloth.

Any other servicing should be performed by an

authorized service representative or that the

appliance has no user serviceable parts. The

Pour commencer la coupe :

1. Peigner les cheveux

dans le sens naturel de

dents du peigne

pointant vers le haut,

mais à plat contre la

tête. Soulever la

tondeuse graduelle-

ment vers le haut et

l’extérieur, ne coupant

qu’un peu de cheveux à

Procéder ainsi pour les

côtés et l’arrière de la

tête.

Pour couper les

cheveux plus cours :

A) Presser le peigne

plus fortement contre l a

tête, ce qui

demande un peu plus

de pratique.

B) Passer à un peigne

plus court. Il est préférable de laisser les

cheveux trop longs que trop courts. Pour des

cheveux plus longs sur le dessus, utiliser le

peigne de coiffeur pour soulever les cheveux,

les coupant

par-dessus le peigne. Encore,

tenir les cheveux entre les doigts et les

couper à la longueur voulue.

Toujours couper de

l’avant vers l’arrière de

la tête, raccourcissant

les cheveux graduelle-

ment en réduisant

l’es-pace entre le

peigne ou les doigts et

la tête. Peigner sou-

vent pour constater les

résultats et enlever les cheveux coupés. Pour

des cheveux plus épais et plus de puissance,

appuyez sur le bouton de turbo sur le côté.

DÉLIGNAGE

Le délignage se fait sans peigne. Peigner

les cheveux puis placer la tondeuse entre le

favori et l’oreille (ill. 1). Tenir le coin de la

lame contre la ligne des cheveux.

Utilisant la ligne comme guide, passer la

tondeuse lentement autour de l’oreille.

Pour la nuque et les favoris, tenir la ton-

deuse inversée (ill. 1) et la presser légère-

ment contre la peau, à la longueur voulue,

déplaçant la tondeuse vers le bas.

Pour des résultats professionnels, peigner

souvent et vérifier les résultats. On évite

ainsi les favoris inégaux, la nuque inégale,

etc.

CONSEILS POUR DES COUPES À

RAS PARFAITES.

Toujours couper du bas de la nuque

jusqu’à la couronne, utilisant le peigne le

plus long. Tenir le peigne à plat contre la

tête et déplacer la tondeuse lentement à

travers les cheveux. Procéder de même

pour les côtés, allant de bas en haut.

Du front à la couronne, couper les cheveux

dans le sens inverse de la pousse puis

égaliser avec les côtés.

Pour un dessus plat, utiliser un peigne plat

et non le peigne de la tondeuse. Couper les

cheveux par-dessus le peigne (ill. 2). Pour

dégrader la nuque, utilisez le peigne n° 1.

Peigner pour voir s’il y a des inégalités.

La tondeuse est munie d’un jeu de lames

amovible pour faciliter l’entretien, le net-

toyage et le remplacement.

Pour enlever les lames, tenez le devant de

la tondeuse face à vous, poussez sous la

lame avec le pouce et elle se détachera.

Pour remettre la lame, assurez-vous que le

levier d’effilage se trouve à la position la

plus longue, le dos de la tondeuse face à

vous. Insérez le bas (avec les vis) de la

lame sur la tondeuse et poussez jusqu’à ce

que la lame s’enclenche en position.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et

après l'utilisation afind'assurer un rende-

ment optimal. Tenez la tondeuse loin du

corps, vers lebas, et appliquez une goutte

d'huile sur le devant et chaque des

lames.Essuyez l'excédent avec un chiffon

doux et sec.

Tout autre entretien devrait être effectué par un

centre de service après-vente agréé. La ton-

deuse ne contient aucune pièce qui peut être

réparée par l’utilisateur. Le produit ne convient

que pour l’usage ménager. Ne tordez ni le tirez

le fil de la tondeuse. N’enroulez pas le fil autour

de la tondeuse.

Comme chaque position utilise un bord de

coupe différent, le levier prolonge la durée

utile des lames. Les cheveux bourrés dans

les lames peuvent ralentir la tondeuse. Pour

désembourber la tondeuse sans enlever les

lames, utilisez une petite brosse et nettoyez

les lames. En faisant ainsi après chaque

coupe, surtout avec les personnes aux

cheveux épais, les lames resteront bien

affûtées plus longtemps. Si la tondeuse ne

coupe pas bien et qu’un nettoyage ne

change rien, vous devrez alors desserrer les

lames pour les nettoyer à fond.

REMARQUE :

Ne tirez jamais le fil de la

tondeuse. Ne le tordez pas et ne l’enroulez

pas autour de la tondeuse. Placez-la ton-

deuse à plat, le fil enroulé à côté quand

HUILE SPÉCIALE

short attachment comb.

Because a different cutting edge is used in

each setting, the taper lever lengthens the

life of your blades. Packed-in hair can slow

down any clipper. To remove it, without

removing the blades. Take your cleaning

brush and brush the hair from the blades. If

you do this after every clipping, especially

with heavy hair cutting, the blades should

remain free of cut hair. If clipper stops cut-

ting and this action doesn’t help, you might

have to loosen the blades to remove the hair.

NOTE:

To maintain the blades of your Conair
