Never wear loose-fitting or hanging garments
while using tile appliance. Hammable material
could be ignited if brought in contact with hot

Use only dry pot holders--moist or damp pot
holders on hot surthces may result in burns

maintain good venting and to avoid grease fires.
Do not store or use combustible materials,
gasoline or other flammable vapors and
liquids in the vicinity of this or any other
appliance.
Do not let cooking grease or other flammable
materials accmnulate on tile cooktop.
Do not use water on grease fires. Never pick
up a flaming pan. Tm'n the controls off.
Smother a flaming pan on a surtace trait by
covering the pan completely with a well-fitting
lid, cookie sheet or fiat tra> Use a multi-

Flaming grease outside a pan can be put ()tit
by covering it with baking soda m; if awfilable,

Clean tile cooktop with caution. Always lock
the c(mtrol panel using the control lock
teature and wait tmtil the entire glass surtace
is cool heft)re attempting to clean the cooktop.

details. If a wet sponge or cloth is used t() wipe
spills on a hot surfilce unit, be careflfl t() avoid

NOTE: We recommend that vou avoid wiping
any surtace trait areas tmtil they have cooled
and tile indicator light has gone off. Sugar
spills are tile exception to this. Please see tile
Glass Cooktop Cleaning section.

When tile cooktop is cool, use only CEILCMA
BRYTE _ Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner and the
CER?dMA BRYTE" Cleaning Pad to clean the
cooktop.
To avoid possible damage to the cooking
surti_ce, do not apply tile cleaning cream to
the glass surtace when it is hot.
After cleaning, use a dry cloth or paper towel
to remove all tile cleaning cream residue.
Read and tollow all inst_ uctions and warnings
on tile cleaning cream labels.
Do not operate the glass sm'thce milts if the
glass is broken. Spillove_s or cleaning solution
may penetrate a broken cooktop and create
a risk of electrical shock. Contact a qualified
technician immediately should yore" glass
cooktop becollle broken.
Use care when touching the cooktop. The
glass surthce of the cooktop will retain heat
atier the controls have been tin'ned off'.
Do not touch glass-ceramic sm'face traits while
cooking. These sm'thces may be hot enough to
burn even though they may appear dark in
color. During and atter use, do not touch, or
let clothing or other flammable materials

indicator lights and allow sufficient time fin.

To minimize tile possibility of burns, ignition
of flammable materials and spillage, tile

Be careflfl when placing spoons or other

damage the cooktop and the pan.
Do not allow water, other liquids or grease

Cooktop temperatures increase with the number
of surti_ce milts that are on. X_]th 3 or 4 units
turned on, sm_hce temperatures are high.
Always use caution when touching the cooktop.
The ON/OFF indicator lights will come on
next to the _,li_/ner and Dual surtace milts
when acfixated. I,ights also actixate for the []
(Pan Detect) and '_) (Control I,ock) features
when they are turned on. The indicator lights
will go off when the surthce unit or teattlre is
ttlrned otI.
The ai)i)ropriate HOT SIJI]FACE indicator light
will glow when its corresponding radiant element
is turned on, and will remain on until the surti_ce
has cooled bel_)w 150°F.

power _settin_, The control will beep each
time a pad is touched.

The dual sm'thce traits have pan sizing sensors
which will automatically set the small or large
sm'thce unit to match the size of vom" pan

To oxerride the automatic pan sizing sensor
and select the small or large sm'tace trait:
1. Touch the dual surtace trait ON/OFF pad.
2. Use the (+)/(-) pad to set the desired power

3. Touch the SIZE SEI,ECT pad once to mrn
on the large sm'thce trait. Touch the pad
again to turn on the small surtace unit.
SIZE SELECT
When the indicator light next to the SIZE
SEI,ECT pad is on, the laroe_ surface unit is on.
X_hen it is off, the small surtace unit is on.
To tm'n the (hml sm'fi_ce trait off, touch the

To activate mid deactivate pml detection for

surface unit must be on.) Tile display will
flash "PAN ON" when tile pan detection

your cooktop. It will leave metal markings on

2. If pots with a thin overlay of almninmn or
copper are allowed to boil dry, the overlay
may leave black discoloration on the
cooktop.
This should be removed immediately

Glass Suriace - Potential for Permanent Damage

Our testing" shows that if you are coohing high
sugar mixtures such as jelly or fudge and have a
spilloveg it can cause permanent damage to the
glass surface unless the spillover is immediately
removed.
1. Tm+n offall suriilce units. Remove hot pans.
2. Wearing an oven mitt:
a. Use a single-edge razor blade scraper
(CEIL_d_4A BRYTE ®Ceramic Cooktop
Scraper) to move the spill to a cool area
on the cooktop,
b, Remove the spill with paper towels,
3. Any remaining spillover should be left tmtil
the surtace of the cooktop has cooled.
4. Don't use the suriace traits again tmtil all of
the residue has been completely removed.
