IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
Read all instructions carefully before using.
Use appliance only for its intended use.
To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse
the base in water or any other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used
near children. This appliance is not intended for use by
children.
Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or
taking off parts, and before cleaning.
Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing,
as well as spatulas and other utensils away during operation
to reduce the risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to the
appliance.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug
or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or dama-
ged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized
KRUPS Service Center for examination or repair.
The use of attachments not recommended or sold by
KRUPS may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
Do not let cord contact hot surface, including the stove.
Blades are extremely sharp. Handle carefully.
Bowl must be in place before replacing blades.

The appliance is intended for processing small quantites of
food for immediate consumption, and is especially recom-
mended for preparing baby food.
The appliance is not intended to prepare large quantites of
food at one time.
A rubber/plastic spatula or wooden spoon may be used,
when the appliance is in “off” position and unplugged.
This appliance is for household use only. Any servicing other
than cleaning and user maintenance should be performed by
an authorized KRUPS Service Center.

To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the
base. No user serviceable parts inside. Repairs should be
done by an authorised KRUPS Service Center only.
Keep your hands and the cord away from hot parts during
operation.
Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners or sponges.
Clean using gentle dishwashing liquid and warm water. Dry
all parts carefully before next use.
Do not place or use the appliance on hot surfaces such as
stoves, hotplates, or near open gas flames.
Do not unplug the unit by pulling on the cord. Instead grasp
plug and pull to disconnect.
Only use the appliance on a stable working surface away
from water splashes.
Do not use to chop or mix hot foods or liquids. Allow foods
to cool, then process.
Do not attempt to override the locking lid. For safety pur-
poses, the chopper is designed so that unless the bowl and
lid are properly installed, the chopper cannot be operated.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A. We do not recommend using an extension cord with
this device.
B. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary,
1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of
the machine,
2) the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not
drape over the counter top or table top where it can
be pulled on by children or tripped over.
C. This machine has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this
plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any
way.
In the interest of improving products, Krups reserves the
right to change specifications without prior notice.

USING YOUR CHOPPER
Place the plastic bowl
(B)
on the base and lock in place by
turning counter-clockwise
(see fig 1)

Then remove the lid, and slide the blade in place on the bowl
axis.
CAUTION: BLADES ARE EXTREMELY SHARP!
Next, assemble the emulsifying disk by clipping the axis into place
onto the disk
(see fig 2)
.
NOTE: Once the emulsifying disk has been assem-
bled, the axis cannot be separated from the disk.
Add ingredients to the bowl.
Note the max fill line shown on the bowl (12 oz).
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED MAX FILL LINE. DO NOT
PROCESS HOT FOODS OR LIQUIDS. NEVER REACH
INTO THE BOWL WHILE THE CHOPPER IS PLUGGED
IN.

Install the lid seal into the lid. Place lid on top of bowl and lock in
place by turning counter-clockwise.

NOTE: CHOPPER CANNOT BE OPERATED IF
EITHER THE BOWL OR LID IS NOT SECURELY
LOCKED IN PLACE.
Press on the lid to start chopping. To prevent damage to the
bowl, the chopper should not be operated empty.

SUGGESTED FOODS
The measuring markings on the bowl take into account the blade
and are provided as a guide only. Note the max fill line which should
never be exceeded.
The chopper is excellent for chopping, blending, and pureeing small
quantities of foods.
For best results, cut large foods into small pieces before adding to
the bowl to prevent jamming.
Pulse foods using short bursts of power, using the spatula to
scrape down the sides of the bowl and re-distribute foods around
the bowl before continuing.
Use the emulsifying disk for homemade mayonnaise, creamy dres-
sings, or fresh whipped cream.
Mince fresh herbs, garlic, and onion with the chopping blade, then
blend with oil and vinegar for salad dressings
Puree fruits for dessert sauces or cooled, cooked vegetables for
baby foods
Make dips and appetizers: guacamole, salsa, hummus, bruschetta
or crostini toppings
Chop hard boiled eggs for egg salad sandwiches or ham, vegeta-
bles, cheese and herbs for filled omelets
Chop small amounts of nuts for baking

CLEANING YOUR CHOPPER
To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the
base in water or any other liquid, or place under running water to
clean.
Wipe clean with a damp sponge and a small amount of gentle
dishwashing liquid if necessary.

CAUTION: Handle the blade with care as the blades
are extremely sharp.
The plastic bowl, blade, and emulsifying disk can be washed in
the top rack of a dishwasher. Take care when reaching into the
dishwasher to remove the blades as they are extremely sharp.
When cleaning the lid, the seal can be removed to clean inside
the groove. Reposition the seal in the lid before next use
(see
fig 6)
.
RECIPES
Apple Compote
3 cup cooked apples, half a lemon, 2/3 cup superfine sugar ,
1 tablespoon of rum.
Place the warm (but not hot) cooked apples, the lemon juice, sugar
and rum in the bowl. Blend using the blade for 15 to 20 seconds.
Leave to cool and serve. Process in batches as necessary to avoid
exceeding the capacity of the bowl.
Pesto sauce
cup Parmesan cheese, 5 sprigs of fresh basil, 3 cloves of
garlic, 15 walnut halves, ½ cup of olive oil
Place the basil and the garlic cloves and cloves into the bowl. Blend
finely. Add the Parmesan cheeses in small lumps along with the wal-
nut halves and chop finely for about 20 seconds. Add the olive oil
and blend to obtain an even paste
Guacamole
1 large avocado , 1 clove of garlic, ½ a peeled tomato, 1 tables-
poon olive oil, 2 chilli peppers, ½ onion, 3 sprigs of cilantro, 1 dash
of lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste.

Chop the garlic, onion, cilantro and chilli peppers finely.
Peel the avocado, remove the pit and cut it up before putting in the
bowl. Blend for 20 seconds to obtain a smooth purée. Add salt and
pepper to taste.
Anchovy Paste
15 fillets of anchovies in oil, 2 cloves of garlic, 3 hard-boiled egg
yolks, 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Chop the garlic cloves finely. Add the anchovies and mix again. Blend
in the egg yolks with 3 tablespoons of oil. Blend to obtain a cream.
Add oil to achieve the desired consistency.
USING THE EMULSIFYING DISK (according to model)
Whipped cream
3/4 cup +2 tbsp heavy cream. 1½ tbsp superfine sugar and 2 teas-
poons of vanilla sugar (optional).
Tips to obtain stiff whipped cream:
Use very cold whipping cream straight from the refrigerator and en-
sure that both blades and bowl are completely clean. Replace the
blades with the emulsifying disk. Pour in all ingredients, lock on the
lid, and process continuously for 30 seconds. Check the consistency
of the whipped cream and process for another 10 seconds if
necessary.
Caution: If heavy cream is whipped too far it will turn into butter.
MAYONNAISE
Tips to make stiff mayonnaise:
- Use ingredients at room temperature
- Clean both the bowl and the disk with cold water
- Measure the quantities of the ingredients carefully
Note:
For best results, use olive oil, sunflower oil or a combination
of both.

Mayonnaise with mustard
Fit the emulsifying disk to the bowl.
Add the ingredients: l egg yolk, 1 tablespoon of French mustard,
½ tablespoon each of wine vinegar, salt and pepper. Measure out
3 tablespoons of oil and set aside.
Lock the lid and run for 15 seconds. Pour in about 1 tablespoon of
oil, process briefly then add the rest of the oil and process conti-
nuously for about 20 to 30 seconds.
Traditional Mayonnaise
Use the above recipe, replacing mustard with 3 tablespoons of
lemon juice.
Pancake mix
For 12/3 cups of mix:
2/3 cup all-purpose flour, 2 eggs, ½ teaspoon of table salt, 2/3 cup
milk, 1 teaspoon of oil.
Put all the ingredients in the bowl and pulse until you obtain an even
mix (about 10 to 15 seconds).
Waffle mix
2/3 cup plain flour, 1 teaspoon Easybake or Fast Action dried yeast ,
1 egg, ½ cup milk, tbsp melted butter, 1 tablespoon of vanilla
sugar.
Put all the ingredients into the bowl and blend for about 15 to 20 se-
conds until you get a smooth mix, then leave to stand for 1 hour.

The Warranty
This product is guaranteed by Krups for a period of 2 years or maximum 6.000
cycles against any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, starting from
the initial date of purchase.
The manufacturer's warranty by Krups is an extra benefit which does not affect
consumer's Statutory Rights.
The Krups warranty covers all costs related to restoring the proven defective product
so that it conforms to its original specifications, through the repair or replacement of
any defective part and the necessary labor. At Krups’s choice, a replacement
product may be provided instead of repairing a defective product. Krups’s sole
obligation and your exclusive resolution under this warranty are limited to such repair
or replacement.
Conditions & Exclusions
The Krups warranty only applies within USA, Canada & Mexico, and is valid only on
presentation of a proof of purchase. The product can be taken directly in person to
an authorized service centre or must be adequately packaged and returned, by
recorded delivery (or equivalent method of postage), to a Krups authorized service
centre. Full address details for each country’s authorized service centre are listed on
the Krups website (www.krups.com) or by calling the appropriate telephone number
listed below to request the appropriate postal address.
Krups shall not be obliged to repair or replace any product which is not accompanied
by a valid proof of purchase.
This warranty will not cover any damage which could occur as a result of misuse,
negligence, failure to follow Krups instructions, use on current or voltage other than
as stamped on the product, or a modification or unauthorized repair of the product.
It also does not cover normal tear and wear, maintenance or replacement of
consumable parts, and the following:
-using the wrong type of water
-scaling (any de-scaling must be carried out according to the instructions for use);
-ingress of water, dust or insects into the product;
-mechanical damages, overloading
-damages or bad results due to wrong voltage or frequency
-accidents including fire, flood, lightning, etc
-professional or commercial use
-damage to any glass or porcelain ware in the product

This warranty does not apply to any product that has been tampered with, or to
damages incurred through improper use and care, faulty packaging by the owner or
mishandling by any carrier.
The Krups manufacturer's warranty applies only for products purchased and used in
USA, Canada & Mexico. Where a product purchased in one country and then used
in another one:
a) The Krups guarantee duration is the one in the country of usage of the product,
even if the product was purchased in another listed country with different
guarantee duration.
b) The Krups guarantee does not apply in case of non conformity of the
purchased product with the local standards, such as voltage, frequency, power
plugs, or other local technical specifications
c) The repair process for products purchased outside the country of use may
require a longer time if the product is not locally sold by Krups
d) In cases where the product is not repairable in the new country, the Krups
guarantee is limited to a replacement by a similar product or an alternative
product at similar cost, where possible.
Consumer Statutory Rights
This Krups manufacturer's warranty does not affect the statutory rights a consumer
may have or those rights that cannot be excluded or limited, nor rights against the
retailer from which the consumer purchased the product. This warranty gives a
consumer specific legal rights, and the consumer may also have other legal rights
which vary from State to State or Country to Country or Province to Province.
The consumer may assert any such rights at his sole discretion.
