1. Clean the power tool’s air vents often. The motor’s fan will draw dust and
other particulates into the tool. Excessive accumulation of wood, plastic or
metal particulates can create a re or electrical hazard.
2. Do not cool the rotary bit with any liquid when hot. This can damage the
the rotary bit by weakening the material, making the accessory unsafe for
use.
3. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or
worn components.. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! Do not touch or handle a live tool with any part of your body
that is wet or damp. Wet skin reduces resistance to electrical current,
increasing the danger of a serious or fatal shock.
1. Shut the power o and disconnect the rotary tool from the power supply
(if possible) before making any adjustments, changing accessories,
cleaning, servicing or when storing. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.
2. Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts and accessories
are designed with built-in safety features that may be compromised if
altered.
3. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical
equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is an
increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.
4. Do not expose the rotary tool to rain, snow, frost or any other damp or
wet conditions. Water entering a tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.
CHARGER PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! Voltage is present at the charging terminals, do not probe
with conductive objects. Electric shock or electrocution may result. A
battery short can cause a large current ow, overheating, possible burns
and even a breakdown of the tool.
Before using the charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on the
charger, battery pack and the product using the battery pack.
1. Only use the included battery charger to recharge the battery. Other

3. Do not place any object on top of the charger or place the charger on a
soft surface that may result in excessive internal heat. Place the charger
in a position away from any heat source.
4. Do not use the charger with an extension cord. This can cause a low
voltage outage during charging.
5. Do not charge leaking batteries. A compromised casing will release
volatile chemicals and gases. Charging a leaking battery can cause a re
or explosion.
6. Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped
or otherwise damaged in any way. Have it serviced or replaced.
POWER TOOL PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not use any power tool with a malfunctioning power switch or control.
A power tool that fails to respond to the controls is dangerous and can
cause an injury. A qualied technician must repair and verify the power
tool is operating correctly, before it can be used.
2. Disconnect the power source before installing or servicing the rotary tool.
3. Never force the rotary tool. Excessive pressure could break the tool,
resulting in damage to your workpiece or serious personal injury.
Excessive pressure is the cause if your tool runs smoothly under no load,
but roughly under load.
4. Keep hands and ngers away from the work area. Any part of body
contacting the rotary tool's working parts could cause an injury.
a. Always be aware of the position of your hands relative to the rotary
bit. Avoid awkward hand positions where a sudden slip could cause a
hand to move into the rotary bit. Never reach behind or beneath the
rotary tool.
5. Only use accessories that are specically designed for use with the rotary
tool. Ensure the rotary bit is tightly installed.
6. Only use the rotary bit that exceeds the Speed rating (see Specications).
7. Before using the rotary tool on a workpiece, test the rotary tool by
running it at the highest speed rating for at least 30 seconds in a safe
position. Stop immediately if there is any abnormal vibration or wobbling.

8. Never touch the rotary bit or workpiece during or immediately after use.
They may be hot and could inict a burn injury.
9. Do not touch an operating motor. Motors can operate at high
temperatures and can cause a burn injury.
10. The material and the motor housing can get very hot during operation.
Stop work until the rotary tool and the rotary bit both cool down to a safe
temperature.
11. Do not cover the air vents. Proper cooling of the motor is necessary to
ensure normal life of the tool.
12. Never use a tool with a cracked or worn accessory. Change the rotary bit
before using it.
13. Do not place the rotary tool down until the rotary bit has stopped moving.
The rotary tool may catch the surface of work material and wrench itself
free, causing injury to the user or others in the work area.
14. Avoid unintentional starts. Be sure that the regulator/throttle switch is in
the neutral or OFF position when not in use and before connecting it to
any air source.
15. After making adjustments, make sure that any adjustment devices are
securely tightened.
16. Never point the rotary tool towards yourself. It could inict an injury.
17. Hold the rotary tool by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing
an operation where the rotary tool may contact hidden electrical wiring.
The rotary tool's exposed metal surfaces may convey a shock to the
operator from a ‘live’ wire.
KICKBACK PRECAUTIONS
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged accessory. If kickback
occurs:
the rotary bit may pass over a body part, causing a seriously injury;
the rotary toolmay wrench the user’s arm causing muscle or joint injuries;
and
the tool may strike bystanders.
Kickback can be avoided by taking proper precautions:
1. Maintain a rm grip on the tool and position your body and arms to allow
you to resist a kickback. Kickback will propel the tool in the direction
opposite to the rotary bit’s teeth or direction of rotation. The tool may pull
out of your grasp.
V1.0 CORDLESS ROTARY TOOL KIT, 40 PC 9011438
Page 7 www.princessauto.com / 1-800-665-8685
a. Use clamps or a vice to hold down smaller workpieces.
2. Use special care when working on corners, sharp edges or exible
material. These workpieces have a tendency to snag the rotary bit.
3. Only use the rotary bit designed for the tool.
4. Support large panels to minimize the risk of pinching the rotary bit. Large
panels may sag under their own weight. Place supports under the panel
on both sides of the work area. Place other supports under the rest of the
panels to prevent them from falling.
5. Always make sure the work surface is free from nails and other foreign
objects. Cutting into a nail can cause the rotary bit and tool to jump and
damage the bit.
6. Maintain the cutting edge of the tool. A dull edge is more likely to slip
from the workpiece.
VIBRATION PRECAUTIONS
1. This tool vibrates during use. Repeated or long-term exposure to vibration
may cause temporary or permanent physical injury. Take frequent breaks
when using the tool.
2. If you feel any medical symptoms related to vibrations (such as tingling,
numbness, and white or blue ngers), seek medical attention as soon as
possible.
3. Wear suitable gloves to reduce the eects of vibration.
4. DO NOT use this tool before consulting a physician if one of the following
applies:
a. Pregnant

NOTICE! Do not tighten the collet nut without an accessory installed in
the collet. You will damage the collet.
Some accessories require collets of dierent sizes. Collet sizes are 1/16, 3/32 or
1/8 in. Ensure that the collet size matches the accessory's shaft diameter.
1. Switch the tool OFF.
2. Depress the shaft lock button, then slowly turn the shaft until the lock
engages and prevents further rotation.
3. Loosen the collet nut by turning it counterclockwise. Use the small
wrench if necessary.

as higher numbers are selected.
9011438 CORDLESS ROTARY TOOL KIT, 40 PC V1.0
www.princessauto.com / 1-800-665-8685 Page 10
High speeds are best for carving, shaping
or cutting metal, wood or glass. Cut Iron
and steel at the maximum speed if using a
tungsten carbide accessory, but use a
slower speed if using high-speed steel
cutters. If a high-speed cutter is 'chattering'
while in use, increase the speed until the
'chattering' stops.
Aluminum, copper alloys, lead alloys, zinc
alloys and tin may be cut at any speed,
depending on the type of cutting being
done. Use paran or other suitable
lubricant on the cutter to prevent the cut
material from adhering to the cutter teeth.
Certain materials (some plastics, for
example) require a relatively slow speed
because at high speed the friction of the
tool generates heat and causes the plastic
to melt.
Slow speeds are usually best for polishing operations with felt polishing
accessories. They may also be best for working on delicate projects such as
delicate woodcarving or fragile model parts.
Only use a maximum setting of 15,000 RPM for wire brush accessories to
prevent wires from being excessively worn or ejected during use.
ROTARY TOOL USE
CAUTION! Do not change the rotary tool's speed while in contact with
the workpiece. This can cause a loss of control and result in an injury
and damage to the tool or workpiece.
1. Determine if you need to clamp or secure the workpiece.
2. Insert the appropriate rotary bit and tighten the collet nut.
3. Select the rotary tool speed based on the rotary bit and workpiece
material.
4. Turn the tool ON and apply the bit to the workpiece. If you are moving the
tool across the workpiece, move against the bit's rotation direction to
prevent kickback. Maintain a steady pace when moving the tool to
prevent an uneven result.
