INTRODUCTION
The angle grinder is ideal for weld cleanup, slag removal, cutting, grinding and
much more.
The battery pack and charger are sold separately.

WORK AREA
1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well-lit
and free of distractions. Place lights so you are not working in a shadow.

2. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from
the work area.
3. Store unused tools properly in a dry, safe and secure location to prevent
rust, damage or misuse.
4. Do not install or use in the presence of ammable gases, dust or liquids.
PERSONAL SAFETY
WARNING! Wear personal protective equipment approved by the
Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards
Institute (ANSI).
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection
for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07
or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.
2. Wear the appropriate type of full-face shield in addition to safety googles,
as the work can create chips, abrasive or particulate matter.
3. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or to
reduce the eects of tool vibration.
a. Do not wear gloves when operating a tool that can snag the material
and pull the hand into the tool.
4. Wear protective clothing and gloves designed for the work environment,
materials and tools.
5. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the
work environment
6. Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot injury from
falling objects.
7. Wear the appropriate rated dust mask or respirator. Wear a NIOSH
approved respirator when working on materials that produce hazardous
fumes, dust or particulate matter.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid
personal injury or damage to tool.
1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the inuence of drugs,
alcohol or medications.

2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the
moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.
3. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance
enables better control in unexpected situations.
4. Support the workpiece or clamp it to a stable platform. Holding the
workpiece by hand or against your body may lead to personal injury.
5. Securely hold this tool using both hands. Using a tool with only one hand
can result in loss of control.
6. Do not stand directly in front of the tool when turning it ON. Always stand
o to the side of the tool and do not allow any part of your body to be in
line with the wheel’s path.
SPECIFIC SAFETY
WARNING! DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from

this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suer serious personal injury.
WARNING! Some surfaces contain materials which can be toxic. When
working on materials that may contain lead, asbestos, copper chromium
arsenate or other toxic materials, extra care should be taken to avoid
inhalation and minimize skin contact.
1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specic
function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended
purpose.
2. Do not use the tool if any parts are damage broken or misplaced. Repair or
replace the parts.
3. Only use a wheel or accessory that is specically designed for use with
the angle grinder. Ensure the wheel or accessory is tightly installed.
4. Do not use a wheel or accessory that is dull or damaged. A dull tool
requires more force to use the tool, possibly causing the wheel or
accessory to break. This may cause an injury and will damage the
workpiece.
5. Only use a wheel or accessory that exceeds the Speed Rating (see
Specications).
6. Always wait until the motor has reached full speed before starting a cut.

7. Use the correct mounting hardware. The mounting hardware is designed
to hold the wheel or accessory on the tool to allow optimum performance
and safety of operation. Mismatched mounting hardware may result in a
tool malfunction and cause an injury.
8. Check the wheel or accessory for damage before each use. It can break or
shatter and cause serious injury or damage the tool and workpiece.
9. Always handle the wheel or accessory with care when mounting or
removing it.
10. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches before using the tool. The tool
may eject an attached wrench or a key and cause an injury to you or a
bystander.
11. Only use a grinding wheel with the correct arbor size and shape that
matches the grinder’s spindle.
12. Sparks may be created when working with the wheel or accessory. Hold
the tool so that sparks y away from you and other persons or ammable
materials. Keep up-to-date re-prevention safety instructions in the event
of a re.
13. Never install more than one cutting or grinding disc at a time unless the
tool and cutting accessories are designed for that purpose.
14. Always use a proper guard with grinding wheel. The guard protects
operator from broken wheel fragments.
15. Use only anges and clamp nut specied for this tool; do not over tighten
the clamp nut on the grinding wheel. Excessive tightening can cause the
wheel to crack during operation.
16. Do not use the angle grinder for bung or polishing.
17. Do not use toothed or saw chain woodcarving blades with this grinder.
18. Do not cut or grind the following materials with the angle grinder:
a. Magnesium can ignite and cause a re. Special methods are required
to put out a magnesium re. Water will not work.
b. Aluminum will melt onto the wheel or blade and either damage the
accessory by clogging it or cause it to shatter.
POWER TOOL PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not use any power tool with a malfunctioning power switch or control.
A power tool that fails to respond to the controls is dangerous and can

cause an injury. A qualied technician must repair and verify the power
tool is operating correctly, before it can be used.
2. Shut the power o and disconnect the angle grinder from the power
supply (if possible) before making any adjustments, changing accessories,
cleaning, servicing or when storing. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.
3. Never force the tool. Excessive pressure could bend or break the angle
grinder, resulting in damage to the tool, your workpiece or serious
personal injury. If the angle grinder runs smoothly under no load, but
does not run smoothly under load, then excessive pressure is being used.
4. Check if the angle grinder's moving parts are misaligned or binding before
each use. Correct the issue before using the angle grinder to avoid an
injury or damage to the tool.
5. Always be aware of the position of your hands relative to the angle
grinder. Avoid awkward hand positions where a sudden slip could cause a
hand to move into the wheel or accessory. Never reach behind or beneath
the angle grinder.
6. Only use accessories that are specically designed for use with the angle
grinder. Ensure the wheel or accessory is tightly installed.
7. Only use a wheel or accessory that exceeds the Speed rating (see
Specications).
8. Before using the angle grinder on a workpiece, test the angle grinder by
running it at the highest speed rating for at least 30 seconds in a safe
position. Stop immediately if there is any abnormal vibration or wobbling.
Check the tool to determine the cause.
9. Never touch the wheel or accessory or workpiece during or immediately
after use. They may be hot and could inict a burn injury.
10. The material and the motor housing can get very hot during operation.
Stop work until the tool cools down to a safe temperature.
11. Do not cover the air vents. Proper cooling of the motor is necessary to
ensure normal life of the tool.
12. Never use a tool with a wheel or accessory that is cracked or worn.
Change the wheel or accessory before using it.
13. Do not place the angle grinder down until the wheel or accessory has
stopped moving. The angle grinder may catch the surface of work material

and wrench itself free, causing injury to the user or others in the work
area.
14. Avoid unintentional starts. Make sure the power switch is set to OFF
before connecting the angle grinder to a power supply.
15. Make sure any adjustment mechanisms are secure before using the tool
16. Never point the angle grinder towards yourself. It could inict an injury.
17. Hold the angle grinder by the insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the angle grinder may contact hidden
electrical wiring. The angle grinder's exposed metal surfaces may convey
a shock to the operator from a ‘live’ wire.
KICKBACK PRECAUTIONS
KIckback is a sudden reaction when to the angle grinder is pinched or caught
on the material. If kickback occurs:
The wheel or accessory may pass over a body part, causing a seriously
injury
The angle grinder may wrench the user’s arm causing muscle or joint injuries
The tool may strike bystanders.
Kickback can also damage the tool or workpiece.
Kickback can be avoided by taking proper precautions:
1. Maintain a rm grip on the tool and position your body and arms to allow
you to resist a kickback. Kickback will propel the tool in the direction
opposite the wheel or accessory's direction of rotation. The tool may pull
out of your grasp.
a. Use clamps or a vice to hold down smaller workpieces.
2. Use special care when working on corners, sharp edges or exible
material. The workpiece has a tendency to snag the wheel or accessory.
3. Only use a wheel or accessory designed for the tool.
4. Support large panels to minimize the risk of pinching the wheel or
accessory. Large panels may sag under their own weight. Place supports
under the panel on both sides of the work area. Place other supports
under the rest of the panels to prevent them from falling.

5. Always make sure the work surface is free from nails and other foreign
objects. Striking a nail can cause the angle grinder to jump and damage
the wheel or accessory.
6. Maintain the wheel or accessory's cutting edge. A dull edge is more likely
to slip from the workpiece.
VIBRATION PRECAUTIONS
1. This tool vibrates during use. Repeated or long-term exposure to vibration
may cause temporary or permanent physical injury. Take frequent breaks
when using the tool.
2. If you feel any medical symptoms related to vibrations (such as tingling,
numbness, and white or blue ngers), seek medical attention as soon as
possible.
3. Wear suitable gloves to reduce the eects of vibration.
4. DO NOT use this tool before consulting a physician if one of the following
applies:
a. Pregnant
b. Impaired blood circulation to the
hands
c. Past hand injuries
d. Nervous system disorders
e. Diabetes
f. Raynaud's Disease
BATTERY SAFETY
WARNING! Only charge a battery with a charger designed for that
purpose. Do not use modied chargers or a charger that does not
specify the voltage, amperage or recharge rate. Improper charging can
lead to battery rupturing.
WARNING! Do not charge a damaged or frozen battery. Contact your
local municipality for proper disposal procedures.
Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your battery before use or
maintenance.
1. Do not expose the battery to heat or throw it in a re. The contents are
ammable and the battery may explode. Remove any source of ignition
such as an open ame or a tool like a heater from the area.
2. Do not inhale smoke issuing from a burning battery, as it is toxic.

3. Do not disassemble or crush the battery as the contents are corrosive
and ammable. Exposure may cause an injury. There is a risk of escaping
hazardous vapors. These vapors can irritate the respiratory track. Always
ensure proper ventilation and immediately consult a doctor, if you feel
unwell.
4. Even a discharged battery may still carry a charge. To prevent a shock,
place battery terminal caps or covers over the terminal to prevent
accidental contact. Hold the battery by the bottom if moving the battery
to a dierent location.
5. Do not store the battery in containers / spaces with loose metal objects.
Keep it away from other metal objects that can make a connection
between terminals. Shorting out the battery terminals may cause burns or
a re.
6. A battery-operated tool with internal batteries or with a separate battery
pack must only be powered by the battery. Do not mix dierent brands
of tools and batteries or use adapters to allow you to use a battery pack
with a dierent voltage. This can damage the tool’s electrical mechanism
and create a re hazard.
7. If uids leak from the battery, avoid contact. Leaking battery uid can
cause irritation of the skin or burns. If contact should occur, ush
immediately with water. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, seek
medical aid.
8. Do not disconnect from the power source in place of using the ON/OFF
switch on the tool. This can lead to an accidental startup when the tool is
connected to the power supply.
9. Do not allow a rechargeable battery to fully discharge. This will damage
the battery. Recharge the battery as soon as possible.
10. Do not store the battery completely discharged. Charge it fully before
storing. Recharge occasionally if storing for a long time.
CHARGER PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! Voltage is present at the charging terminals, do not probe
with conductive objects. Electric shock or electrocution may result. A
battery short can cause a large current ow, overheating, possible burns
and even a breakdown of the tool.

1. Only use the included battery charger to recharge the battery. Other
chargers may be unsafe, causing an electrical short circuit or re.
2. Disconnect the charger from its power source before attaching or
removing batteries or battery clamps.
3. Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area and never obstruct the vents
in the top and bottom of the charger. Place the charger on a at non-
ammable surface and away from ammable materials when re-charging
the battery.
4. Do not place any object on top of the charger or place the charger on a
soft surface that may result in excessive internal heat. Place the charger
in a position away from any heat source.
5. Charge the battery at rates recommended by the battery manufacturer.
6. Make sure the polarity symbols on the battery lines up with the polarity
symbols of the charger. A battery inserted backwards may explode
causing re and/or injury.
7. Do not use the charger with an extension cord. This can cause a low
voltage outage during charging.
8. Do not charge leaking batteries. A compromised casing will release
volatile chemicals and gases. Charging a leaking battery can cause a re
or explosion.
9. Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped
or otherwise damaged in any way. Have it serviced or replaced.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace
the missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a
malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
INSTALL EXTERNAL BATTERY PACK
1. Check the battery power level before each use.
The battery is not fully charged out of the carton. Charge the battery
before rst use.
2. Install the battery by aligning the rib on the battery with the groove on
the battery port and push forward until the latch clicks.
3. Remove the battery by pushing the battery lock button and pulling the
battery free.
WHEEL GUARD INSTALLATION
WARNING: When using an oset hub grinding wheel, ex wheel, wire
wheel, cut-o wheel or abrasive mop disc, the wheel guard must be
tted on the tool so that the closed side of the guard always protects
the operator.
1. Unlock the wheel guard handle.
2. Align tabs on wheel guard with notches on gear housing.
3. Slide wheel guard over the rim of the gear housing.
4. Rotate the wheel guard as needed to shield you during the planned work.
5. Lock the wheel guard handle.
6. Tighten the wheel guard nut securely.

7. Check the wheel guard to ensure it is rmly in place. Adjust if necessary
before proceeding.
INSTALLING THE LOWER GUARD
1. Install the lower guard onto the safety guard
before using a cutting wheel.
2. Remove the power source.
3. Flip the angle grinder onto it's back and hold it in
place.
4. Align the lower guard's groove with the safety
guard's rim (Fig. 2)
5. Slide the lower guard onto the safety guard with a
rotary motion until it is rmly seated.
6. Push the the lock button to remove the lower
guard once the task is nished (g. 3).
INSTALLING WHEELS AND
ACCESSORIES
Shut the power o and disconnect the angle
grinder from the power supply (if possible) before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, cleaning, servicing or when storing.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool
accidentally.
Wheels are held in place by the ange. Wire brushes and similar accessories
screw onto the spindle.
The ange consists of the inner ange that sits between the angle grinder and
the accessory and the outer ange that secures the wheel to the inner ange
by friction.
Insert the outer ange's raised center into the o-set hub grinding wheel to
secure.
Position the outer ange's at bottom against the cutting wheel to secure it.
Can be either o-set hub or straight.
Do not overtighten the anges, as this may crack the wheel and cause it to
shatter during use.
Remove both anges when installing a wire brush or similar accessory.

OFFSET HUB GRINDING WHEELS
WARNING ! Always install the grinding wheel with the oset hub against
the disc ange. Failure to do so will cause the grinding wheel to crack
when tightening the clamp nut. This could result in serious personal
injury because of loose particles breaking o and being thrown from the
grinder. Do not overtighten.
1. Mount the inner ange with the machined 'ats' side down onto the
spindle. Slowly rotate the inner ange until it engages the corresponding
matching machined 'ats' on the spindle shaft.
2. Slide the wheel over the spindle shaft and over the inner ange's raised
shoulder. Make sure the wheel's protruding side is against the tool.
3. Screw the outer ange onto the spindle with the shouldered side down.
4. Firmly depress the spindle lock so the spindle cannot revolve; then use
the lock nut wrench, turning it clockwise, to securely tighten the outer
ange.
5. To remove the wheel, follow the installation procedure in reverse.
ABRASIVE DISC
1. Mount the rubber backing pad onto the spindle.
2. Place abrasive disc onto the spindle, then t the disc onto the rubber pad
and begin to screw the outer ange onto the spindle.
3. Firmly depress the spindle lock so that the spindle cannot rotate, then use
the lock nut wrench and securely tighten clockwise.
4. Reverse the installation procedure to remove the disc.
WIRE BRUSH
WARNING! Brushes will eject bristles during use. These bristles may
penetrate skin through light clothing. Wear eye protection that
completely surrounds your eyes and protective clothing to avoid injury.
1. Inspect the wire brush before installation. Discard damaged brushes as
they are more likely to eject bristles.
2. Press and hold the spindle lock button and turn the accessory until it will
no longer rotate.
3. Loosen the ange with the lock nut wrench.

4. Remove the front ange, accessory and rear ange. Set aside.
5. Screw the wire brush onto the spindle until it is hand tight.
6. Press the spindle lock button and place a wrench onto the wire brush's
xed nut. Tighten the brush until secure.
INSTALLING THE AUXILLARY HANDLE
Your grinder is equipped with a handle that you can mount on either side or on
top of the gear housing. Screw the handle into the chosen threaded hole.
Change the wheel guard's position to protect your hand when switching sides.
OPERATIONS
OPERATING THE ANGLE GRINDER
WARNING! Never remove the metal guard as a shattered cutting wheel
can cause severe personal injury or death. The metal guard will contain
and redirect shards away from the user.
1. Install a cutting or grinding wheel or a wire brush accessory appropriate
for the material and task.
2. Determine if you need to clamp or secure the workpiece.
3. Position the accessory so that it does not touch anything.
4. Press the power switch to the ON position.
5. Allow the accessory to attain full speed before proceeding to the task.
6. Perform the task.
7. Switch the tool OFF.
8. Wait for the accessory to stop moving before placing the tool down on the
workbench.
CUTTING WHEEL
1. Align the cutting wheel with the workpiece. Keep the metal guard
between yourself and the cutting wheel in case it breaks apart.
2. Apply gentle pressure to the tool and allow the cutting wheel to cut
through the workpiece. Too much force will slow the wheel and could
cause it to break.

3. Keep the tool steady during the cut. Do not attempt to move laterally or
twist the tool as it will break the cutting wheel.
WHEEL OR ACCESSORY
1. Tilt the angle grinder between 5 and 15 degrees when sanding. Tilt
between 20 and 30 degrees when grinding.
2. Never grind with the edge of the grinding wheel. Only use the bottom.
3. Bring the angle grinder wheel into contact with the workpiece.
4. Keep the grinder moving to avoid removing a excessive amount of
material from one area.
5. Use just enough pressure to keep the tool from chattering or bouncing.
Use light pressure when there is a chance that the grinding wheel
may get snagged by the workpiece.
WIRE BRUSH
Do not use a wire brush if it interferes with the safety guard. Wire
brushes eject bristles during use and removing the guard may result in a
penetration injury. Only install brushes that t inside the guard.
1. Tilt the angle grinder between 5 and 15 degrees when using a wire brush.
2. Follow the instructions for using a grinding wheel.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is ecient, easier to
control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or
worn components.. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
3. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool. Follow instructions
for changing accessories.
4. Keep the tool handles or gripping surfaces clean and dry.
5. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important
information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for
replacements.
WARNING! Only qualied service personnel should repair the tool. An
improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.

BATTERY MAINTENANCE
Avoid the risk of battery short circuits during transport, storage or disposal by
isolating both terminals with adhesive tape or pack the battery in a plastic bag
or a cardboard box.
1. The longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack
is charged when the air temperature is between 50 to 86°F (10 to 30°C). Do
not charge the battery when the temperature is below 32°F (0°C) or above
104°F (40°C). This is important and will prevent damage to the battery
pack.
2. Charge the battery at rates recommended by the manufacturer.
CLEANING THE CHARGER
1. Only clean with a damp cloth. Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic
parts.
2. To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug the charger from the outlet before
attempting any cleaning. Removing the battery pack will not reduce this
risk.
STORAGE
BATTERY STORAGE
IMPORTANT! Remove the battery when not in use for an extended period
of time to prevent damage.
1. Do not store the battery completely discharged. Charge it fully before
storing. Recharge occasionally if storing for a long time.
2. Do not store batteries in containers / spaces with loose metal objects.
Battery terminals could be short circuited if they come into contact with
metal objects. In addition to damaging the battery, you increase the risk of
a re.
3. Do not store in temperatures over 140°F/60°C. The battery may rupture or
leak.

DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.
Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for
electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function
