1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific function.
Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended purpose.
2. Do not use the tool if any parts are damage broken or misplaced. Repair or
replace the parts.
3. Do not insert a finger or any object into the pump or engine openings.
4. The pump is non-submersible. Keep the engine dry at all times. Protect the
engine from wet weather.
5. Operate water pump from a stable surface.
6. Anchor the pump to avoid equipment movement. The load from hoses may
cause the pump to tip over.
7. Do not pump the following to avoid creating a hazardous situation or
damaging the pump:
a. Flammable liquids such as fuel or fuel oils.
b. Hot liquids. This will overheat the pump and the thermal protection
system will shut the pump off until it has cooled.
c. Sea water, beverages, acids, chemical solutions or any other liquid
that promotes corrosion can damage the pump.
8. Do not run the pump dry. This will cause cavitation in the pump
mechanism and can damage the pump beyond repair.
9. Do not obstruct the suction or discharge hose in any way.
10. Never operate pump without a strainer basket connected to the end of the
suction hose.
11. Never run the pump against a closed discharge. The pump may overheat,
damaging the seals and creating a situation where a burn injury can result.
Prime the pump with water before starting.
